I got a full set of acrylic nails in April then decided to go to a closer salon to get a refill. Instead i decided to just get a whole new set. When the technician started taking them off, she informed me that regal had used MMA product. MMA is an inexpensive, fast-setting, and ultra-durable liquid monomers historically used in some nail salons, though they are widely banned for cosmetic use by the FDA due to safety concerns like severe nail damage and allergic reactions. Despite bans, some low-cost salons still use them. acrylic.Removal: Extremely difficult to soak off; it often requires filing and doesn't dissolve in acetone, becoming "gummy" or "stretchy" instead.Application: Often sets very fast and requires heavy filing, which may feel excessively harsh.Why MMA is Considered Dangerous for Nails:Extremely Rigid: MMA is harder than the natural nail, causing the natural nail to break, crack, or lift painfully rather than the enhancement breaking.Severe Damage: It requires heavy buffing/filing of the natural nail for adhesion, damaging the plate.Allergic Reactions/Infection: Potential to cause severe allergic reactions, permanent loss of the nail plate, and loss of sensation in fingertips. I must say, I am very satisfied with this nail place. One of the better ones in the community. I had called last minute for an appointment for daughter, hubby and me and they were still able to accommodate us. Probably because I requested an evening appointment. They are always packed and busy all throughout the day, which to me is a good sign that people like to come here. This is my second time here but for hubby and the daughter, it's not. Apparently hubby and daughter's friends like coming here too. I am really very satisfied with their workmanship. It's been 6 weeks since my last pedicure and the gel nail polish on all of my toes are still intact!! No chips! I am really impressed. I've gone to other places before but disappointedly, the gel nail polish chip within two days. Paid a lot of money for my nail polish to have chips in just 2 days. But this place is doing things right. As for their nail techs, they are very nice and friendly. They try to be engaging and conversant so you won't feel uncomfortable or awkward. Most of all they are so mindful that they ask you if every process is to your satisfaction. From the water temperature to the pressure of the leg massage they give you and down to the polish you picked. They actually give you a chance to assess the color you by painting your big toe and asking you if you still want the color, because they seem to know that what you pick on the color palette might not look the same on your toes. That's a big plus for me. Last time I had the cat's eye polish and it costs an extra $10 but it really looks good and as I mentioned, no chips even after 6 weeks, Lin was the one who did my pedi last time but she's on vacation, so I had a different lady who is just as awesome. Prior to moving to Reno in 2005, I had my own salon in Alabama for many years, so I am a very hard critic. I have written reviews for this place before, but after my visit last week I felt I should share my experience again. Do not let the location (or prices) sway you. It is a high-end place with loads of talent. Best nail salon around! Hannah and her staff always gives me the perfect fill and pedi, hands down (no pun intended). They are professional, fast, and creative with so many choices of color, designs, and free-hand art. The leg and foot massage itself is worth the trip. read more

I was surprised to see a nail salon in a Walmart. I finally made an appointment for a pedicure and got a man named Bah. There's a first time for everything! What he lacks in communication skills, he makes up for in executing a skillful pedicure. Cost is a flat $33 for regular polish, no gel. I think the prices are high but all nail salons in Reno are higher than what I use to pay in the Bay Area. It's definitely a chunk of change to pay on a regular basis especially if you have your nails done too. read more

Yes. A much needed pampering. I treated the both of us after a hard year. Hannah is particularly dedicated to making you feel incredible. She did a fantastic job making my lumpia looking toes look it's best. Massage was fantastic along with their deep tissue massage chair. She is meticulous and well deserving of a high tip. So I went in to have my nails done as usual.. I got these kind of nails done not too too long and not too short...I had ask for a full set and long nails..there's an older man in there that does nails ..I'm sorry but don't go with him! He will over charge you and it's not even worth it! He charged me $100 for these nails and I feel like that's a whole lotta bs..I even go to feel my nails and it feels bumpy. Lynn is the pedicure guru!!! She has amazing attention to detail and actually enjoys transforming your nasty ass feet into beauties!!!! Have been here a few times to get nail fills. Lee has been my nail tech every time and he is wonderful. Very nice and professional. Today I went in for a full set and my husband got a pedicure. He said it was the best pedicure he's ever had. My nails and finger tips were really sore but Lee was super gentle and did an amazing job on my nails. I love them! This is my nail place. I have been coming here for the past several years and although I have visited other nail salons, I always return to Regal Nails. Hannah is my go-to nail tech, she always does a wonderful job, but if she's not available, I ask for either Yen or Tina. 4 stars because I haven't always had a positive experience, but I would definitely recommend it to others. read more

I booked an appointment for my daughter for her prom to get a simple manicure. She was treated very poorly and the man who did her nails said incredibly rude things to her. He wouldn't use the polish she brought with her, told her he couldn't file her nails because they were too short and asked her why she wanted green polish because "St. Patty's Day was over." Consider some kindness next time and be a professional. read more

I have been to the Regal Nail inside Walmart about (3) times. The first time the lady made my feet bleed, the second time they hounded me for a tip and the third time I waited 40 minutes. These employees are over worked and underpaid. They all looked like zombies. Zombies that are burnt out. read more

Super busy but still able to accommodate me quickly as a walk-in. My fill ended up being more expensive than the posted price - not sure why that is. The tech who did my nails also burned me a couple of times with the drill - ouch! But overall, I'm very happy with my nails. They are nice and thin and sleek looking. read more

They're all right nothing like California California nails are not as expensive and they have more of a variety it seems everywhere I go in Reno there's no one to do airbrush they have your basic colors in no one in there can do more than two designs in California they have nail techs that can do over 20 designs on nails over 50 airbrush designs but no not out here And definitely not at Walmart they are all right sometimes they suck sometimes my nail breaks sometimes they look fine but hey what can I say you're nothing like California I'm still on the search for a good nail shop in Reno Nevada so my search continues I still go here though because I like the nail techs atmosphere is not bad so I go here until I find someone better. then its adios motherfuckers.. read more

I got there today for a full set. I signed in on their sheet let them know what I was getting etc. After 15 minutes of waiting another woman comes in and does the exact thing I did. Only when she told the lady what she wanted she took her right then and there and left me waiting. Keep in mind we were getting the same thing! Furious I got up and left. With STILL no acknowledgment! Very disappointed with the bad service. read more

Over the years customer service has dropped to really low standards. My mom and I went in for a mani+pedi after like almost 1.5 yrs. We were both really looking forward to it. Our service were HORRIBLE!! I got my mani done from Lee and I was so dissatisfied/disappointed because my cuticles and nails were awful. I loved getting my nails done from Lee but I don't what is happening now. I didn't want gel polish just wanted regular polish. My nails were painted extremely thick, so it took forever to dry. Nail drying area was really cramped and another person sitting next to me ruined one my nail's polish. Lee's wife fixed it but while she was fixing it she repeated multiple times that I should have got gel polish instead of regular polish. My nails weren't shaped good, and cuticles were a disaster because I literally had to clip hang nails from every finger for a week after my mani. It was kind of hurting when I was getting my Mani done because my nails weren't even soaked for more than 2 mins. My pedi was ok, done by one of the ladies. My mom's experience was exactly the same but she got her services from a different lady. Our appts were at 6pm and we got out around 7:45pm but both of our services were done within the first 45mins or so. It seems like everyone was in a rush to get out of work by 7 and clean up and everything before then too. My suggestion would be don't make any appts or take anybody for last minute services and rush through their services so you can get out of work on time. Also, if you're tired don't work. It's better to not work than to provide someone rushed services. You guys sure don't charge any less for shorter or rushed services. And, if you're not going to want to do regular polish then don't offer it. I know that gel polish option is available but I wanted regular polish for a reason and that's my preference. Please try to better your services and pay attention to details because that is part of your job. Really disappointed and upset, probably never will return here again. read more

I've been to some of the other locations but it's not as comfortable as this location, not as friendly or as warm. I used to come here years ago when I first moved to Reno. They do your typical gel polish and BASIC,nothing special designs- One of the reasons I stopped going to them. I've been going to a new place for the last year (which I love) but unfortunately they were closed for a few days for a family emergency which was highly disappointing since I was going out of town & wanted to treat myself before hand. I decided to come here since I was going to do some shopping at Walmart. BIG MISTAKE! Since they only do BASIC stuff I decided to get something SIMPLE (so I thought) just gel polish with diamonds on my index fingers. I didn't end up liking the way ONE finger came out, which I told him and I was just offered a "I'm sorry" and to pay up basically. I HAD to ask to have it fixed! The way I was treated was absolutely DISGUSTING and they insulted me beyond believe! While he was "fixing" it he kept making comments like "Don't play with me like that" and when I became upset and started to cry out of FRUSTRATION I was mocked for it and basically made fun of right in front of the OWNER and instead of her telling him shut up and fix it she decided to add her RUDE two sense in! Let me get this straight, your mad at ME because YOU can't do simple diamonds on nails and when asked to have it fixed I'm the wrong one?! You guys have no idea what customer service is and should be EMBARRASSED! I have NO IDEA how your place is as packed as it is because you guys aren't doing anything special there! Please DO NOT waste your money here! I popped in the other day for a fill. They were able to do it right away and was really fast. Nice no frills or extras and not the most luxurious place but perfect for a quick fill while you wait for you prescription or something. I wish they had a better selection of colors too. read more

The range is $60-75 for gel and $5.00 for decoration. I was there for a hour and half, Isela took her time. She can do free style art work or stickers. I chose the stickers. The place was spotless and they asked if I like a small bottle of water which is always a nice touch. I paid with cash not sure if there was a credit card fee or not. No discount for cash. The Technician was very gentle sometimes I do prefer the cheese grater for my winter callous, but otherwise, I'd go back, but I'm always on a mission to try different nail salons in the area.
