It was probably inevitable that someone who's a professional film critic would eventually check out the movie theater located on the way to cleaning out his recently passed father's home. That's Regal Shiloh Crossing, an Avon, Indiana 18-screen cinema that has been fairly well updated. There's an IMAX screen, 4DX, and other luxury options including luxury reclining seats. While I know this is an older theater, it's for the most part kept clean and looked pretty spiffy to me (I wonder if I'm the first Yelper to use "spiffy" in a review?). The employees were all friendly. Accessibility is strong here with accessible parking, appropriate curb cuts, and accessible seating options nicely done in the auditorium-style theaters. Regal offers a rewards program and an unlimited movie subscription option (2D movies). At one point, it really seemed like Regal was declining as a chain. Theaters like this one give me some hope. It's not perfect. I wouldn't call it a destination theater, but I do think it serves this community well. There aren't a lot of options around Avon other than the screenings at Danville's Royal Theatre. It is worth noting that after 8pm anyone under the age of 17 has to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian - I think this has helped solve a lot of past complaints as the theater really used to be a gathering space for teens in the area. While my time is winding down as I get closer to resolving my father's estate, I wouldn't hesitate to return here if in the area or if friends on this side of town wanted to see a movie. While it's not Central Indiana's best theater, it's a good option for those living on the westside of Indy or in Hendricks County. Alamo Drafthouse by Lafayette Square does draw some westside folks, but for those for whom that's too long of a drive this is definitely a solid option. read more

Reclining seats, however, be certain to get your chair in place before the movie because some of the chairs make a noise as they recline. I'm guessing it's because of their age or the material has begun rubbing against itself. Whichever the case please recline before the show! We were able to attend this evening to see The Long Walk, which was very graphic and I turned away from the screen often. I came here for the first time visiting family in the area and I was impressed with Regal Theaters. The theater was large, clean, and had comfy leather seats that almost fully reclined. With wide arm rests. The staff were all super friendly and I appreciated they seemed to hire people with special needs who may otherwise struggle to find work. Had a Fandango gift certificate and the day off, so my daughter and I decided to catch a movie today. Showtime was before noon on a weekday (albeit a federal holiday), so very few people in the theater today (our show only had a couple of other viewers besides us). Sound was good, reclining seats were comfortable, screen and visuals good. Bathrooms were clean. The biggest factor for choosing Regal over another theater in the area is their seating. Regal has nice reclining seats in all their theaters at this location vs the other guys only have it in a single theater and their others are very uncomfortable. Also, Regal was closer to my after movie lunch destination. Overall, good experience and I'll likely hit this theater again once there is something good in theaters again this summer. read more

We went to see a movie around 11am and the concessions were already sticky counters with popcorn everywhere. I noticed that the butterfingers tasted funny and sure thing, they were a month expired. There was also another expired box on the shelf when I went to notify someone. We were just told to take a new box, but still unacceptable to have expired items on the shelf! read more

This location has reclining seats. So that's a huge plus. I also like the fact that each theater is in small size. It's not huge which I like. There are lots of snack options - who can go wrong with theater buttered popcorn?!?! Yum! There's was fresh pop, and the better just put it over the edge. I also got an ICEE. I like they have that option versus just plain soda. Just a note of information. They do sell online tickets however, there is an up charge. You can go there and get your ticket even for later that day. If you're already in Avon swing by and pick up your ticket ahead of time to save you the convenience fee, and the worries of not getting a ticket for a movie you want to see you later that evening . read more

Bad experience trying to get my ticket purchase credited to my account. They told me at the theater they could not put it on my account - they were too far into the transaction and didn't know how to back out. But they said I could do this later at home on their web page. After spending 45 minutes on their web page, chatting with their support for most of that time, they finally told me that my ticket purchase could not be put on my account. If I'm ever in this situation again I'll cancel my purchase at the theater and then have them start over. On the bright side the movie, Fantastic 4, was pretty good. This place set off such a bad anxiety attack that I literally wanted to die. You can't find a single person to help you with the stupid kiosks that don't recognize your membership cards. Then when I tried to go to the concession stand to find someone, the line is so long that you still can't get someone. We wanted to meet up with a friend for a movie so picked this half way cinema. There weren't many people there when we arrived so it was easy to get tickets and find our theater. It was a bit confusing as to where to buy tickets and we had to choose seats, but upon entering the theater no one was in their 'chosen' spots. Not a big deal but did seem a bit odd then to decide do we move too or stay in our assigned seats? The theater was clean and warm which was a blessing for me as I tend to get cold in these spots! The seats recline so it really is like watching on a lazy boy at home but in surround sound. Very fun experience and good location. We had a good time and would return for future movies. read more

We come to this locating because my friend lives nearby and has one of those passes so she can take the kids to the movies more often. The bathrooms are in terrible need of updating. Half the womens stalls have no locks and only one soap dispenser works. The dryer is so low you have to hunch over to dry your hands. It's just kinda icky in there. I love that the seats recline, but we were in theater 3, and something was squeaking so bad it distracted me the entire film. Not sure if it was the a/c or the projector or what, but it was an annoying ambient noise that was present the whole time we were there. Super annoying. We went to see Halloween Kills and it took away from the suspense of the movie. Their concession options are old school. Popcorn, soda, candy. With all the updates and newer theaters coming out this leaves a lot to be desired. It's just really old and outdated. Time to gut it and start over. read more

I popped into Regal Shiloh Crossing while in Avon recently. I have a Regal Unlimited monthly membership plan that I use frequently. My local theater is the Carmel Regal. I love that I'm often the only or one of a few people watching a movie during the hours I normally go. However, the Regal Carmel theater is long overdue for a remodel. Regal Shiloh is a much nicer theater with nicer seats, bathrooms, lobby etc. I would definitely attend this location more often if it were closer to me. read more

My son and I went here to see The Lion King. We went on a Tuesday and it wasn't crowded at all. We took care of our tickets at the concession stand and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Only bad thing I can say about Regal is their app. Booo! It's hard to navigate through their app, it's a bit unnerving. FYI: AMC perks and app is much better. The theater itself was clean! This was our first time at this location. We enjoyed the reclining chairs and the room we had to relax and watch the movie. after the movie they were kind enough to ask how our experience was and I thought that was nice. The gentleman also informed us about the rain and to drive safely... it's the little things that matter. The outside of the the theater looked very retro so it was a great surprise to see how nice it was. Bathrooms were clean and for the ladies they even had a vending machine for "personal items" which is always a plus. We will definitely visit this location again since it's so close to our new home. If you arrive at the listed time for your movie, plan on a half hour of being held hostage while adverts are drilled into your eyeballs. So just arrive 25 minutes late. Many people love the reclining seats. I am just over 5 ft tall. The recliners are very uncomfortable for short people. Unreclined, the seat was uncomfortably straight up and down. Reclined, the foot of the seat held my legs in an upwards position which caused numbness of my feet and lack of support for my neck. A few regular seats would have been nice. We were looking forward to seeing a movie, unfortunately on one of the hottest days of the year. We bought our tickets, and proceeded to the theater assigned. Opened the door and experienced a wall of heat and moisture... Obviously no air... Went to the first employee we found to ask if they were aware and could they turn on the air... clearly we were bothering them... hung around for a bit propping the door open, hoping for the room to cool down a bit... another employee came and closed the door, we told him why we had pried it open... were told that there was nothing they could do, all the air was on already. Hmm, no way can I sit in a room that is about 90 degrees and moisture laden with the smell of athletes used socks. We went back to the ticket counter and asked what could be done. We got the curt: well nobody else complained, but you can have your money back or a voucher for another movie. I chose my money back, not sure I want to return. Too bad this is the closest theater for me. Grrrr... It is also consistently dirty here, sticky floors, trash everywhere, and don't get me started on the rest rooms. read more

Don't let the somewhat dated exterior full you- these are newly renovated theaters with all the bells whistles and more than I've ever seen in a modern theater. Each seat is a king size lazy boy leather recliner with digital push button controls. Every seat is reservable so you can lock in the middle, back row or aisle in advance. Rows of seating are double spaced so that when your lazy boy is fully reclined there is still tons of room for that family of 5 to walk by with there free refills of popcorn and soda without knocking into your feet. Food and bevg options are plentiful with traditional theater fair plus some decent mid range restaurant options and a nice craft beer selection. It's also nice that you can reserve your seats ahead online if you're really picky about seating! Good thing we expected them to not be ready and we came very early to stank in line for 20 minutes. Update. So took these photos two plus weeks ago and today it is the same. Can you please fix the restrooms Update again. Two recent visits with regal rewards card I had a feee small popcorn. In past always upgraded to a large and pay the difference so pay $2 for a large. Now they give you a $1 discount on the large if you don't take the free small. What the heck. So I again said no I will wait and use later and hope rules change back. Since they got the power reclining seats we love to go to this theater. Being able to pick your spot before entering is a nice perk. It's a little further drive but definitely worth it. They offer some different items at the concession stand too like Cheeto popcorn. It is usually busy so we purchased our tickets on line which we didn't have to wait in line but was charged a $3 convenience fee but guaranteed the seats we wanted. read more

Went on a little date night to enjoy Thor and stood in the line for popcorn and drinks for TWENTY FIVE minutes only to get to the front and them tell us "card only" no sign no warning. Wasn't going to turn around and stand another 25 minutes for a bag of popcorn when I was almost late to the actual movie because the line was so long the first time. They wanted me to turn around and stand in the cash line which was longer than the card line. Then I scan my ticket to get into the movie and the lady tells me theater door 6 and I had to search every other theater till I got to 3 because she told me the incorrect one and my QR ticket didn't tell me anything. Wow! Regal has completely renovated every theatre in this place! Every single theatre has the barca-lounger type seat where you can recline with your feet up - YES! Plenty of room to walk in and out even if everyone has their feet up too. Parking here is never an issue like I find with so many other theatres. Thank you! Plenty of restrooms and they are always clean. Not renovated however. Fresh popcorn - all the new releases - a game room for the kiddos - and now great seats. Ladies bathroom was nasty. One stall not working. Popcorn dumped in sink. Toilet paper strewn on floor. Toilets not flushed. General public can be so gross. Before movie started, I told employee at concessions. After movie, bathroom still hadn't been cleaned! Theater seats appear sub standard. They are not very cushy and the theater had a funky odor. Went to see a Sunday matinee movie in the afternoon today. We heard about their new spacious seating and recliners and thought we would try the Regal theater for a change. We originally tried to buy our tickets online but noticed there was a booking fee. We ended up getting our tickets at the theater to save a few dollars (no booking fee) and I had an old gift card to use up. When swiping our gift card, the cashier said there was an error with it and we needed to call the customer service number on the back of it. Within two minutes he came and found us and gave us two tickets in the same row we requested because it was company error and we didn't have any control over their system not recognizing the old card. We offered to pay but there was no hesitation and no arguing about the situation in the end. What great customer service! Can't really complain about getting free tickets. The theater is a little older but the renovations are nice. All the seats recline with a touch of a button and each row is very spacious so you can fully recline and also let someone walk by. read more

I purchased tickets on line for a family movie event to see Christmas With the Chosen. We entered a dark theater with not enough light to find our seats. Thank god for cell phone lights. The theater was freezing inside. No heat. The Projectionist had some problems getting the film to start. When he did, the sound didn't work correctly. When we inquired about the heater, we were told there was nothing they could do it at that point. This was truly a disappointing experience and I doubt that I would recommend this theater again. On a positive note, however, the employees were friendly enough and the reclining chairs are wonderful. read more

And popcorn and soda are what I would say even more expensive than the average over priced movie theater. But the reclining seats are nice clean and comfortable. I love the fact that they have a rewards program that saves you a dollar off every ticket and give you coupons for free popcorn and such when you've gone enough. Not too bad a place to catch a movie. The theatre is a bit old, but most of the screens have been refuted with reclining seats, which are quite comfortable. Because the number of seats have been reduced, a lot of shows sell out at prime time on weekends, so be sure to buy tickets early. The lines can also be very long on weekends too, so get there ahead of show times. With renovations, its not priced cheap, either tickets or concessions. I haven't been here in a long time! The two biggest changes I noticed were the exterior and the seating. I really like the updated seats - some of the most spacious I've seen! And you get to select your seats upon purchase, which is nice. Tickets were $11.80 (adult), which I think is pretty good for the seating. The screen felt kind of small, but I think I'd take the nice, reserved seating over bigger screen. The bathrooms are showing their age a bit, but stents bad. It really doesn't matter, but I'm sad with the way they've repainted the outside - tan? It's the "Regal," not the "boring modern warehouse." read more

Overall a great experience. I was glad I purchased our tickets in advance, though, as they had a sign pointing to concessions for tickets. The lines were long at concessions, but I can assume that many of the people were buying tickets. Didn't seem the most organized in that regard as there was no designated line for ticket sales. What I like most about this theater is that it carries a wide variety of films. Living on the southwest side, I am pleased when one of the "art" films plays here, saving me a trip to the other side of town (Keystone Arts theater). Since there are 18 theaters, they come in a variety of sizes. I believe all now have reserved seating and have improved comfort, many with the ability to recline. One thing to be aware of is that there is a single entrance area on the east end of the building. Because of the building's size, you can have quite a long walk from the lobby to the far end if your movie is showing on the west end. I am not sure whether it was poorly designed or simply modified to add more theaters at a later date, but most over-sized theaters I have been to have a central lobby for convenience. Prices vary depending upon the movie and sometimes, upon the day of the week/time of day. I seldom buy popcorn or snacks, so I assume these are somewhat standard, but most assuredly over priced for value. This theater used to be my favorite they have the amazing comfy reclining chairs. The serves was always good. They had there fair share of technical difficulties like any other theater would. I would of given this theater 4 stars if it wasn't for one change they have made. They no longer have their box office open. They make you stand in the concesion line to buy your ticket. This take the simple process of buying a ticket that usually would only take a few min and turns it into a ten min waiting game. This is a cheap business maneuver that forces you to stand in line with the food with hopes of you purchasing a $6 candy bar, much like grocery stores putting the milk in the back, or it make you pay an extra $3 for a convenience fee to buy it online. For shame regal. For shame. Try elevating your customer service and you might see your bottom line go up with it. read more
