We decided to try the Skybox seating on a whim one evening, and it turned out to be fantastic, albeit expensive, date! There's just an ineffable something about being served a boozy beverage in a movie theater. The service was very prompt and friendly. My complaints about movie theater pricing from my previous review still stand, but after finally experiencing Skybox seating a few times, I have to update to five stars. For $5 extra for a "premium ticket," you can watch your movie from the upstairs balcony. This gets you extremely comfortable seats where nobody can kick you in the back or block your view (which is actually a great angle even though you're high up). It gets you access to surprisingly good bar food delivered to your seat-- everything we've had has been tasty, but the poblano sliders, chicken tenders and onion rings are especially great. Maybe most importantly, it gets you very cheap drinks. You can't complain about $2 local draft beers. The food is very reasonably priced too. We figure the $5 extra fee per ticket is worth it for subsidized beer and premium seating, plus it's just fun to be able to drink and eat dinner DURING your movie. If you're going to go out to the movies, this is as good as it gets! read more

Saw Jumanji on New Years Eve only to be stuck with assigned seating in the front row. Not a fan of this new assigned seating arrangement, just saying . Was able to move to the 3rd row but all the seats were dirty and sticky with popcorn and food. Had issues with the movie screen and picture being blurry so after the movie went to look for a employee, ANY employee to discuss the lack of cleanliness and screen quality but NO employee on site. Vacant!!! Must of all left before 2018!!! I'd rather go to Park Meadows theater. read more

Reserved our seats on line knowing this was a dine in theatre as we have been here many times before. Come to find out that they closed that part just a few days ago. No restaurant no bar. When I asked to speak to the manager on duty "Brooke" I had to wait till she was off the phone and even then I still had to approach her as none of her staff told her a customer had a complaint. She listened to our complaint but could care less and offered nothing but empty apologies. Even a free bag of popcorn and soda would've had us coming back but not anymore. They did say that a new location was opening and the resources for the restaurant went there. How does this place not have 5 stars I considered moving to Colorado after seeing a movie here that's how awesome it is! We sat in the upper area, and while we didn't have the food we did have delicious beers ($2 each!!!!) Our seats were reserved, comfy and spacious! The best part was there is actually room to maneuver through the aisle so you're not in your neighbors lap if you happen to have to go to the bathroom during the movie. The next time i see a movie without beer its going to be so sad. read more

I did have a Groupon deal at one point for this location. Although the SouthGlenn theater isn't the closest theater by us, we love going to this location for the SkyBox seating, as well as reserving your seats online. If you get here before the movie, you have time to relax in the upstairs lounge, order food and take it inside the theater. My favorite and the only place my peeps and I go to see a movie. I love the VIP seating. The food that is served is excellent! The sliders with the sliver of green chile and the chicken strips are DELICIOUS. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Went back on a Tuesday night and the tickets were $5! Not sure if this is their weekday rate or just because they were dead the last time we went they've now lowered their rates.. either way the place was packed this time. Again I love being able to reserve your own seat. I bought my ticket online and didn't even have to print it, instead I had a "virtual ticket" sent to my phone that the ticket guy then scanned. So, we were able to go straight in. I live downtown and it's a 20 minute drive to Southglenn, but if I went to the Pavilions we would have to get there at least 20 to 30 minutes early to try and get a good seat. This took about the same amount of time, we had great seats and it was significantly cheaper. Plus to adding to our cheap movie night excitement they had people size 20 oz $1 Cokes. Not the usual 3 gallons of liquid diabetes for $7 everyone else does! It is always so expensive and such a waste (of money and coke). This was a nice change. All these little things add up. Going out to the movies is often overly time consuming and ridiculously expensive, this was simple and a deal, we'll for sure be back for more. Additionally, we had hoped to hit the Mellow Mushroom nearby for dinner but the wait was 45 minutes so instead we went to the Pho place and it was very good (plus where else can you get dinner for $20!?) read more

Good concept for a movie theatre but it is extremely dirty. I mean filthy. The butter and jalapeños at the concession stands were horrific. They hadn't been changed since the day before. I don't know how this place passes code for their food; being the whole place is disastrous. I might call the Colorado food board; this place needs an audit. With all the staff working here the least you all can do is clean your restrooms, the theatres (which are awful) so dirty. read more

This is a very nice, swanky theater. It's got normal/traditional seats and also an upstairs VIP section. VIP is awesome - larger seats, very comfortable. Tuesdays are 1/2 price tickets so regular tickets are $5 and the VIP tickets are $7.50. VIP tickets (maybe all?) have to be bought online because you reserve your seat at the time of purchase - you can usually buy your ticket the morning/afternoon of and get the seat you want. This theater also has a bar upstairs that serves food and drinks, called the Skybox. We didn't have anything but the food smelled and looked delicious. read more

My name is Amanda T and I'm a 30 something Harry Potter fan. The problem is, unlike my 18-20 something fellow fans, I wasn't willing to wait in lines or battle crowds to see the final film. So after hearing my coworker rave about the reserved skybox seating at the SouthGlenn theater, I decided to purchase reserved seating. I'm pleased that I did. The show was sold out, but we came in about 30 minutes early and settled in. The seating was spacious and comfy. Perhaps my only complaint is that 3D doesn't really have the same effect up in the skybox seating. Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves. The food and beverage service prior to the show is a nice touch as well. It's a real treat to have a pint with the movie. However what actually stood out is their house-made caramel corn. Seriously. It's rich, gooey and thick caramel corn with a chocolate drizzle. I've thought more about the caramel corn than the movie last night. Even though there are closer theaters to me, I'll definitely return to this location and while I may not always get the Skybox seating, I'll definitely be getting that caramel corn. read more

It's one of my top 2 favorite movie theaters in Denver, CO. First, you get to purchase your seats online and RESERVE your actual seats!!! No more hurrying to get to the theater to get the best seat in the house. Plus, if you upgrade to the "Premium" seating you get to go upstairs, hang out in the bar area which has a FULL bar and a full food menu (unlike Landmark which only has 3 microwaved options on the "food" menu). Plus the location is ideal to get some grub either before or after or even do a little shopping. HIGHLY recommend this theater!! read more

I'm giving this place five stars for three reasons: 1. The upstairs bar is great. A nice if smallish selection of beers on tap, generous pours, comfortable seating, and very well prepared food. A perfect, quiet place to while away some time while your kids are watching the latest spectacle one level below. I had the chicken tenders and they were great: large portion and crisp batter. 2. It's clean and well maintained. No sticky floors here. Try the upstairs leather seats sometime for a special occasion; order a beer and food there and enjoy. 3. The popcorn is good! I am an Alamo Drafthouse and Flix Brewhouse fan, so in comparison ....Regal SouthGlenn is not that great. The seats are nice and food tasted ok, but the service at Alamo is better. Only theaters 6-9 have food delivery service. It is awkward to bring food to the other theaters. The drinks at Regal sucked and I was not impressed. If you are looking for seat side service, good food, great drinks, better customer service, no noisy kids, go the Alamo Drafthouse instead. read more

We usually have a good experience here however the last couple of times we have gone, it was a mess. The theaters weren't cleaned from the prior movie showing, the seats were sticky and they forgot to turn down the lights down when they movie started. The concessions stands were no better. There were only 2 or 3 people working and huge lines and long waits. There were three other "managers" standing off in the corner just watching instead of coming over to help. When you are spending nearly $100 for tickets and snacks, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect clean facilities and service. read more

One of the the worst experiences you will ever have!!! Just obtaining a ticket is a hassle, long drawn out terrible process!!! Pick you seats what a joke. . .Imagine you have already bought your ticket from the minimum wage zombie, with an senior who needs easy to access seats you then are required to pick seats and none were available, all the while you are late because the people before you in line took a half hour to buy tickets and pick seats. . . while useless managers watches you from the ticket takers podium he is leaning on!!! I went to this theater for the first time a few weeks back to use some free tickets I received for Christmas. Easily one of the nicest theater experiences that I have had here in Colorado. The lines for purchasing tickets were quick and efficient. You get to choose your seating from a list of seats that are still available (love it!) and the concessions area was clean and the staff very helpful. The theater that I was in was huge and the seats were all very large and comfy. For me, the ability to pick your exact seats was really the biggest selling point. I hate going to the theater and having to sit on the sides or too low down. 3/4 of the way up and directly in the middle is really the only place I want to sit if I am paying for a movie in the theaters and you can know even before you purchase tickets if you are going to be able to get the seats you want. Invaluable! The pricing definitely reflects the higher quality of theater as the tickets are going to cost you between $2-$7 more than a "normal theater" depending on the options you choose for skybox seating etc but I definitely think it is worth it. Great experience and highly recommended! read more

Just went in to see Star Wars last night which tickets were very scarce, (opening weekend). We paid to sit on the upper balcony just so we could order food. Before I start on the balcony, I wanted to make note that the bathrooms were trashed. Overly trashed. It made me really happy that I pee standing up. So, when I pay for the upper balcony, I expect the seats to recline like the bottom ones. Unfortunately, this isn't the case so I am unsure why I paid extra for them. It definitely wasn't for the service because it took forever to get our food. Secondly, the food was very average. I paid restaurant prices for my burger and I got less than McDonald's quality put into it. I actually would have preferred the McDonald's burger and I never eat there. They also got our burgers mixed up. The movie was cool and they had seats available, so that's why they got 2 stars. Would I come back? Probably not unless it was the only theatre with tickets to a movie I want to see. read more

This is probably my least favourite movie theater. They have a balcony where you pay a premium price for an inferior service. We are here on a new years day. There is no waiter service. Poor management. The poor guy left on his own was rushing left and right trying to get people their orders. I wish a certain movie chain beginning with H opens a southern Denver location and end my misery. read more

Just got into our premier seats. What a waste of money. Unfortunately they were the only seats available that would work for us. I had to get someone to clean the seats 15 minutes prior to the movie starting. The premier seats don't recline. A function we like. Never again!!! Half price tuesdays. ($5 regular admission, $7.50 for Cushiony leather love-seat premier seating). $1 cokes every day $1 bud / coors light every day $2 Microbrews every day. It's like going to a dollar theater, but without the sticky floors and upholstery. Plus, the movies are new releases, not second or third run. The service is always good, and the food is pretty tasty. The food is, unfortunately, typical theater prices ($8 for french fries) so they're only getting 4 stars. This is the only theater I go to now for mainstream films. read more

This place is pretty cool. Tuesdays is half price movies all day. $1 beer all day If you become a "hollywood insider" on the website you get a coupon for free popcorn straight away and another one for your birthday. You an add your own "butter" to said popcorn, it is kindof synthetic tasting but still pretty dece. Only a few select movies play in the Skybox and they have never been the ones we came to see. You can only bring beer into Skybox seats so if you sit downstairs you have to pound your beers at the upstairs bar then scurry down to your movie. Picking your seats before the movie is also a plus. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with a recent trip to this theater. We were in the area and they had a convenient show time so we decided to give it a whirl. I was initially a little shocked at the high price for a Sunday afternoon ticket, but once getting into the theater - it was totally worth it. I had no idea they had mechanically reclining seats! With table trays! We were in one of the downstairs theaters where I guess they don't have tableside service, but that didn't bother us. We just got our snacks from the concessions stand right there by the front door. They weren't particularly speedy and I couldn't definitely see these lines getting backed up, but that's usually the case with concession stands at movie theaters. I did notice that they brought out a few more employees to help with the line which is always appreciated and did help speed things up. Granted, we've only been once so I can't comment as to the frustrations others have experienced, but so far so good in my book. read more

Very nice new theater with reserved seating which I think is the best way. No more of these annoying people arriving and then staking out the centers of whole rows for their friends who arrive 2 minutes before the movie starts. Sound and screens were good. A word of suggestion for you. Don't waste your money on the upstairs seating. I felt too far away from the screen, too high up and was disappointed that we did not get our drink service until just before the movie started. Effectively, you pay a premium to just sit and wait to have someone bring you a drink just before the movie starts, from a bar you passed on your way into the theatre and could just as easily have stopped to order your own drink. Not worth the heavy extra coinage in my opinion. As an added plus, you can dine at Pho 95 and then walk over to the theatre for your dinner and date. Pretty cool in my opinion. read more

We bought five seats together online and when we got there they informed us there was a mix up and none of those middle seats were available. Instead we would have to sit in the front row and not even together. The only options given to us were to sit in the inferior seats, move to another time or get a refund. No extra vouchers to concessions, extra tickets or a refund and then tickets. So from now on I will frequent AMC with their inferior seats but superior customer service. Really disappointed that fast food restaurants understand customer service better than "premium" movie theaters. Argh! read more

Love the new set up for the SouthGlenn theatre. All the chairs (even in the cheap seats- which aren't so cheap) recline! Plenty of room and little side tables for your snacks and drinks. The SkyBox is the premiere seating with access to the full service bar (though you can still get a drink from there and take it to your regular seat) and runs $5 more, I think. read more

It's a very nice theater and I love that they have a 21+ bar upstairs. What's better than sitting on a sofa watching a movie with hotwings and a beer? Nothing. It's not overly priced for the movies and in a nice area. They're not a huge movie theater so movies come in and out a lot which is my only complaint about this theater. The staff here is pretty great too. I was once had a very large scuff with some drunk chick that came in from the bar next door and she was screaming and threatening me my whole movie and the manager was more then willing to refund me and give me tickets to another movie. He even went to the bar [where the girl worked] and talked to her boss about the behavior so that it didn't happen again. Overall if you can get to the skybox you really should and make sure you you get there with enough time to order something before the movie starts. Also see movies when they come out or a week before. If the movie isn't popular they sometimes stop playing them there. read more

Wish I could always reserve my seat!

I used to go here lots because I like the reserved seating, if you're planning ahead to go to the movies it enables you to purchase your tickets in advance, get there right before the show and calmly stroll to the prime seating you've previously selected. Win. I also like the idea of SkyBox, with waitress service, a full restaurant, and DRINKS. Beer is, indeed, a great compliment to the movies, if you were wondering. Unfortunately this place has become entirely unimpressive. The past few times I've been here the staff has been RUDE. They are frequently in the theaters screaming at children to turn off their cellphones. I recognize that cell phones are a problem in movie theaters these days, but these employees are just mean. We go to the movies for fun, we're excited as we anticipate the beginning of the movie we've been anxious to see, we talk happily with our friends and play with our phones while we wait for the show to start. Some of the employees of this theater seem hell bent on sucking the fun out of everyone's lives and ruining the experience. Lame. Disclaimer, rant begins now: I was here for the midnight showing of the final Harry Potter and experienced the usual screaming about cell phones from a particularly rude female employee before being informed at 12:00midnight that they were going to wait 5-10 minutes for people who were "at concessions". SERIOUSLY? I did NOT buy a midnight ticket to have at 12:10 showing. If I wanted that, I would have bought the freaking 12:10 showing. THEN, when they finally did start the movie, we watched 20 minutes of PREVIEWS. WHY COULDN'T YOU START THE PREVIEWS WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE STARTED (AT 12)? To make matters worse, the movie cut out 4 times and we missed small chunks of THE MIDNIGHT SHOWING OF HARRY POTTER. SERIOUSLY? (I understand glitches happen sometimes, but unfortunately this has happened several times at this theater...) Okay, I'm going to stop ranting. But I am definitely annoyed and I don't know if I'll be going back. read more

Skybox seating is filthy. Dirty dishes and crap everywhere from previous show times. Mentioned it to an employee who did nothing. Spent $50 on 3 tickets and another $50 on drinks and an appetizer before the show only to end up embarrassed after bragging up the place to my guests before hand. Wouldn't normally complain but it's the 2nd time this has happened. It's a shame because everything else is very nice. I'll never go back. read more

Pros: 1) They have beer and food on top level. 2) And seats are super comfy and wide. 3)They also have recliners in the lower seats. Cons: I saw Star Wars 3D. I sat on the left side/front row/balcony. 1) It was too dim, 2)the sound was way low like it's in old fashion two-speaker audio, 3) and the aisle lights were so bright they completely distracted from the movie. I get it that they're a safety issue, but they were SO BRIGHT! Completely unacceptable: 1) The screen (theatre 7) was dirty! A big dark stripe going down the screen left of center. 2) They turned the back lights on with 5 seconds to go in the movie. Totally took away from the final scene. With theaters all getting in the game of reserving seats and having nice quality in the theatre, this place is not even close to competition. Give your money to a theatre that keeps their screens clean and isn't trying to rush everyone out the door. read more

LOVE this place! Went to see Inception a few days ago, and it was a bit pricey, but we reserved seats (actually a love seat) on the Skybox level. This is what movie-going is supposed to be! The seats were very nice and clean, and waiters immediately greet you and take your food and drink orders. They currently have $1 soda and $1 beer on tap, and we tried some french fries with our beer.... very tasty. We had an excellent time, and next time may try dinner there.....didn't plan very well the first time. Will be interested to see if they keep it as neat and clean as it is now......have seen too many nice things run down within 3-5 years of opening. Keeping my fingers crossed! read more

Nice new theater in a cool mall. For the first time ever I experienced selecting own seats on a touch screen, pretty cool~

Disappointing. First the theater sold me the wrong ticket for the wrong theater and made me miss out on buying snacks. Then I went into the theater and found the floor to be a mess. Then, as decent as the movie was, they had the air conditioning on the whole time and turned the thing into an icebox. I complained to the manager and all I got was a "Sorry" for my trouble. $11 down the drain in this "experience." Back to the Alamo, I guess. read more

This review is for the Skybox seating Sound, screen and comfort of the seats are good - no better or worse than any other stadium seating theater in the area. Service leaves a lot to be desired in the Skybox. They take forever and when we were last there upstairs was completely out of candy. If you wanted candy, you had to go downstairs and purchase it yourself. Defeats the purpose of paying extra to sit upstairs and have wait staff getting you your treats. Food - menu is pretty uninspired. If you want better food, I'd try the Alamo. read more
