We were visiting Los Angeles, so that my wife could surprise our daughter at a party that our daughter's close friends were throwing for her. While my two fave ladies were spending time together, my son and I spent quality time together watching the movie The Odyssey at Regal La Canada. The Odyssey was a very entertaining movie that I highly recommend and watching this summer blockbuster at Regal La Canada made for good first time experience there. It's more of an old school movie theater with quality customer service and tasty food. When we entered the small strip mall with the movie theater was the main focal point, I was a little confused because the signage on the building was United Artists (UA) theater not Regal theaters. If you've lived in California awhile, then you should be familiar with the UA brand movie theaters, which is why I had a sense of nostalgia seeing the UA moniker. UA was purchased by Regal, so this movie theater is part of the Regal movie theater chain specifically located in La Cañada Flintridge. There are a few other shops located in this strip mall, but the one I remember is North Shore Burgers. There is plenty of parking at this location and the traffic flow is one way as you enter the strip mall. We watched The Odyssey during matinee hours, so it wasn't that crowded, but I got the feel that this wasn't a busy movie theater. The staff here provided quality customer service and were friendly. I had ordered tickets the day before, but mistakenly purchased tickets for the wrong day. I left a message to request a refund and when I tried to call a second time, a manager answered while I was leaving a message and she promptly refunded my money providing quality service like her staff. Regal UA La Canada gives off an old school vibe. The movie theater definitely needs some modernizing with regards to their leather recliner chairs and the layout of their seats, but I actually liked the old school vibe. When your order popcorn, the staff asks if you want butter and they're the ones placing butter into your popcorn. I prefer self service, but they did a good job buttering my popcorn. The popcorn was fresh when I initially ordered and when I requested a refill. My son ordered a pepperoni pizza and that too came out well made with the cheese melted and the crust crunchy. Their leather seats aren't the electronic recliners, but rather they're the pull out lever old school recliners. They worked fine and the leather seating was comfortable. Even the restrooms were old school, but they were clean. There were also some arcade games for the kids to occupy themselves while waiting or after watching a movie. While my two fave ladies spent quality time together, my son and I got to hang out and watched a Must See movie The Odyssey. We had a fun first time experience at Regal UA La Canada. read more

I rarely go to a movie theatre. In fact, the last time I went was in 2021 to see House of Gucci. My girlfriend and I wanted to see Devil Wears Prada 2 and she likes this theatre so we came here. We purchased our tickets online ($23 with fee.) It might be the only way because I don't recall seeing a ticket booth. The guy that scanned our tickets was very friendly and personable. The theatre is small with large, comfy leather recliners to sit in. The recliners had a cup holder and were spaced far enough from the seats in front to give you plenty of room to walk by without interrupting the other patrons. The theatre and restrooms were clean and maintained. The concession stand serve standard moving theatre snacks & beverages - no gourmet food or cocktails. The seats were very relaxing and we enjoyed the movie. *Ample parking in the lot. read more

Time to update my review! First time back in an actual theater in quite a while, thanks to a holiday gift card. Regal seems to have improved their game a great deal at this theater. Everything was sparkling clean and the staff popped a new batch of salt-free popcorn at my request. Of course, the listed movie start time was 25 minutes before the *actual* movie start time, thanks to the adverts and previews...but that's the case in all movie theaters. The parking here is free and easy to navigate, a true advantage to this theater complex. Lots of restaurants nearby, so perfect for date night. Enjoy. read more

Came on a Thursday mid day for a complimentary screening courtesy of Focus Features. We're always a bit apprehensive about a theater employee knowing about studio screenings so we try to arrive a little early, which we did today. Yes, he did know there was something allowed, but that a manager would need to handle it. We stepped to the side and within a minute a manager appeared and did his magic. Pleasant, professional and efficient. After the final credits rolled, we stood up and saw the uncourteous "blue hairs" seated behind us had their popcorn all over the seats and chairs. But someone was standing by to get it all taken care of. Again, efficiency. Chairs were big, comfy and reclined. The screen image and sound were good. The lobby offered a wide variety of snacks. If we were sugary sweets addicts, or into snacks during a movie, we'd probably be quite happy with the offerings. Plenty of free parking all around this theater and easy in/out with the street light right there. We decided to come here because it was close by and we wanted to watch 'Now you see me, now you don't.' We couldn't get the tickets online so we had to wait in the same line as the popcorn to purchase our tickets. I was hoping there would be another faster way of getting tickets like a tablet or something. We ended up getting the tickets and decided to get some snacks. I got a single small White Claw that was about $13 which was insane. We went to our seats and the theater was very small so seats were limited. We ended up in the second row so we had to look up to watch the movie but the seats reclined so that definitely helped. Pretty good experience but not the most practical choice unless you're nearby. read more

We went to Regal UA La Canada for a 2:50 PM showtime of "Backrooms". Right off of the freeway and plenty of parking in the parking lot. Theater is small but nice, short line to get concessions. Standard movie fare, nothing gourmet and no cocktails. Theater itself was small, but the chairs were large, comfortable, and reclined, albeit they were a bit old and noisy and the leather was cracking. Overall it was a positive experience and I would absolutely see another movie here! read more

I've been coming to UA of La Canada for as long as I can remember. It's a small town theater vibe, and feels warm and cozy. We came in with two adults and two children for a matinee viewing of Zootopia 2. It was my son's first time at the theater and my neices second and they had a blast. We purchased one large popcorn, it came out to $12.00 or so, which honestly isn't horrible for a theater. We were services very quickly at the concession stand, then scanned in very quickly for our tickets. The employees are very nice. The theater itself is on a very low grade incline compared to other bigger theaters, which is very nice and ADA accessible, but sometimes the seata in front can tend to be in your peripheral view, which isn't a concern as much in the theaters where you go up stairs. I will say I still prefer this because it feels so spacious and you get a ton of leg room even after your seat is reclined. My only complaint, is that the theater need some updating. The seats have sustained some wear and tear over time, and while the facilities, including the bathrooms, are so very clean, it's just all a bit dated. I do think that it does add to that small town theater charm. Also, can we take a moment to appreciate how much parking they have? At the end of the movie I paid $3 cash for each kiddo to spin the wheel and win some merch that they had a surplus of. They were out of some of the prizes on the wheel, but the nice young gentleman handling the wheel let kids choose whatever they wanted, I thought that was cool! I look forward to bringing my little one again soon! read more

Our visit to UA Regal La Cañada was disappointing due to the conflicting information given by the management team. Before the movie started, we were told by one manager that a refund would be allowed within the first 30 minutes of the movie if our child was unable to sit separately. When that situation occurred and we requested the refund, a different manager refused and stated a completely different policy. When we attempted to explain the guidance we were given, the manager, Riley, was rude, dismissive, and made the interaction unnecessarily uncomfortable. We were also told that the vouchers issued as a substitute would never expire, but after reviewing them, they clearly show an expiration of 18 months. This added to the confusion and frustration because it was yet another example of incorrect information being communicated. We left disappointed, especially since we were hoping to make this our regular family theater moving forward. read more

TLDR; GO ELSEWHERE. This place is horribly managed with blatant disregard for ethics. I was beyond excited to watch Wicked. It was a movie I'd been anticipating all year. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment due to an absolutely unacceptable experience. The speakers in the theater were busted, which completely ruined the movie. For a film like Wicked, where the soundtrack and music are a critical part of the experience, this was inexcusable. I couldn't enjoy the songs or the dialogue properly, and it completely took away from the magic of the movie. When we brought this issue to the staff's attention, they admitted they already knew the speakers were broken. Yet, they still chose to show the movie as if everything was fine--at full price, no less! This feels like a blatant disregard for customer experience. If they were aware of the issue, why not either fix it, close the affected theater, or at the very least warn customers and offer a discount or refund? The management at Regal UA in La Cañada clearly values profits over its customers. I walked away not only disappointed but also feeling cheated. This theater is okay. I've been a couple of times. The first visit was not so great because the staff didn't communicate that tickets could only be purchased online when I walked in the door. It took a second to even be acknowledged. I did give this theater another shot a few months later and it was a better visit. The only downside was that they don't currently accept Apple Pay. Some of the theaters are absolutely tiny. My complaint is with the caramel corn. I had it once and it was great. The next time I went to this theater, the caramel corn was super stale. On my next visit, I asked if it was fresh and was told it was made several days ago. Several days ago!!! She said they keep it in that big plexiglass box for days. Ugh. The regular popcorn is made with coconut oil, so if you like that flavor, it's fresh and good. I'm just not a fan. Please Regal, make caramel corn EVERY DAY!!! read more

Ok I've been coming here for at least 15+ years. Movie theaters are good, nothing to complain about. The popcorn could be better and they need to have my cherry icee available more often. This theater could definitely use some TLC. Came here on a Monday to an almost full showing of Deadpool and Wolverine. The theater itself was pretty clean but the actual leather seats seemed stained from what I assume is grease from popcorn and the seats were torn in several places. These seats are not the automatic adjust to your liking type of seats like AMC. Instead they have a pull handle that brings out the foot rest and you have to push back to get the seat to recline. The seats also felt very spread out especially when a person in your party gets the last seat in the row and is just off to the side alone. There was also a group of 12 maybe 13 year olds unsupervised in this Rated R movie being extremely obnoxious, talking loudly throughout the movie and playing sounds from their phones who did not get kicked out despite several complaints from people around me to staff, they just gave them a verbal warning which did not stop them from disrupting the movie. Disappointing to be apart of when you spend $24 per ticket to enjoy a movie. read more

Absolutely probably the worst regal in LA County. I give it props that united artist is still holding onto that location but yo let me tell you my experience I went to the theater last year of July 2024 to see Deadpool & Wolverine in auditorium three, the sound was terrible ruined the experience ruined the movie. I complain to the manager. I got a free movie pass. I questioned if this auditorium is nonfunctioning at 100% then why still sell tickets to the theater, right ? Fast-forward a year later same month, July 2025 I go to the theater again to watch Jurassic World rebirth and I end up in the same auditorium, auditorium three at this regal again the sound in that space is terrible ruined the movie I complained again spoke to the manager stated my case said hey I was here last year in the same auditorium. The sound was terrible. I complained. I brought it up. Obviously this issue was not fixed or it has been or it just keeps messing up who knows anyways this theater is shit. Don't go. Don't go see movies there. They don't care about the quality or experience. Just not a great theater. United artist needs to let it go and shut it down sorry. read more

Went to see Gladiator II last night and had to leave after 90mins because the experience was not good. I really used to enjoy this movie theater, but now just think it's overpriced and desperately needs an upgrade. The "reclining" seats are blown out (feels like you're sitting in a '57 Chevy) and the sound system (at least in theater 3) is garbage. The center channel is clearly blown out which makes it sounds like you're watching a movie at a drive-in theater. Prices are higher now than pre-pandemic and the theater is in worse condition. That just doesn't make sense. I really hope this theater invests in their customers by upgrading soon. Until then I'd rather wait and watch movies on Netflix at home... read more

The theater itself is in good shape, it has some Modern features like other modern theaters like chairs that recline and they're not tiny little boxes from what I've seen so far they're reasonable size screens and the prices are good in today's market for seeing a movie they offer deals like you pay x amount and you get unlimited movies per month etc etc it's very reasonable they throw in deals in the cocessions on various items... we go to the movies fairly regularly and I can tell you that this place is right up there with the best of what we found in Los Angeles for getting bang for your buck. read more

It's a theater. Seats are a little worn but are the reclining "leather" type. They serve.... rather you can purchase canned beer and maybe one other alcohol item, maybe. Regular snack bar. Regular prices. Sound, picture and temperature were perfect. The afore mentioned seat was a little uncomfortable at the end. To be fair, most are after sitting for 2 hrs. Restrooms were very clean. In a complex of shops, Starbucks and Crumble Cookie, Poke and others. Plenty of parking for the matinee. Great location, right near on and off ramps for 2 diff freeways. After my ill fated visit to this Regal theater of about a year ago i had not been inside a movie theater. With Netflix and Prime, it was just easier to watch movies at home...and safer. But i knew after reading the reviews of Babylon: it became apparent i had to view this important film on the big screen, So i bundled up and braved the torrential rains to see Babylon. Since the last time i was here the place has gotten a much needed facelift in both the open public areas and the actual theaters including a replacement of the reclining and comfortable chairs. There were several sanitizer dispensers in the theater which is a plus: the pandemic is not over. I wish it were, but it is not. As usual, the projection of the picture and the quality and separation of the sound is perfect. Still irksome is the length of the previews. i think i clocked about 18 minutes long of previews. (btw: the length of the previews is included in the runtime of the movie so you can be "late" and still watch the entire film) There is still Beer available here but i didn't see any wine. Also: the food selections have diminished during rehab. But Dogs, Popcorn, Candy, Chips, Sodas, Beer: what else do you want? And the Popcorn...ahh yes the quality of the corn itself (and yes there are various grades and sizes of kernels) and how it is carefully popped is a beauty to behold and to eat. Along with the Laemmle theaters, Regal theaters do the simple corn kernels up tight and out-of sight. To be honest, the yearning for Movie 'Corn also drew me to this movie theater. .Unless you have a professional movie theater Popper at home: you cannot fry the kernels as they do here. This is a Pepsi theater btw, now. A super cool visit to this Movie joint. I will be back. Cheers! read more

After searching and having read that six Regal's have closed in the first part of this year, I could understand why. Why not be nice to customer's? When my daughter kindly tried to order Dr. Pepper, then Mr. Pibb, the young lady here just wasn't nice. "We now have Pepsi products!" Don't forget anything at these theaters. My daughter immediately went back to the theatre from home after forgetting her wallet. No one would go to her seat and look for it. She was not allowed to go in and look for it. She was not permitted to be escorted to her seat to quickly look for it. What's even worse, is that anyone can snag it. Five hours later, she goes back again. She is called on for having left her wallet by the "same not nice" young lady. What are lost and found's for? No one is perfect. Still no one has looked in the theatre. Go to AMC, if you are torn, at least they have nice customer service. read more
