This is the first time I've visited this theater since it's about a 40 min drive from me. However, I've found my new favorite theater to go to. This place is ginormous! Prices are great. Matinee weekend prices go until 4pm and are $8.88 a ticket! You can purchase your tickets online and reserve your seats. I did pay a little extra for their special XL theater. Their website explains the different theaters. While you're perusing the website, join their rewards program. In the words of the terminator himself I know for sure "I'll be back". You may also purchase tickets on one of their many kiosks. There's even a special kiosk for cash only. There is a full bar and a lounge area to chill. The snacks & drinks are all self serve with a self checkout. I was confused at first but there are employees available to guide you through the process. They were eager to help & very friendly. The theater was huge! It felt like we were by ourselves since there is so much room between the rows & the stadium seating. They have the coolest recliner chairs I've come across. Not only do they lay alllllll the way back but you can also tilt the headrest to your liking. No need to get a kink in your neck while you sip your beverage. The chairs were in excellent condition and didn't show any signs of wear & tear. The theater was super clean, the sound & picture were great as well. The bathrooms were clean as well. There's also a family bathroom. On the way out we really wanted to play the games. I will bring cash next time so I can win that Princess Peach. Thanks Epic Theatre. Your name fits my experience. I really like the self-serve no hassle style of Epic Theatres. This theater is clean spacious and always has the greatest Customer Service. I've experience the popcorn fresh. The nachos are prepackaged but good. I haven't had any fountain drinks, but I do see that people seem to get the pizza a lot. I've also had the pretzels and I like that as well. They have an actual liquor bar there if that's something that you're in to into as well. The fair itself is clean, and the seats are comfy and recallable. check what day a week you're going they have lots of specials and sign up for their app as well. read more

I love going to the movies, but the prices have gotten crazy (Regal in WP charges $15 now...for a matinee). Therefore, I am DELIGHTED to have Epic Theatres here in Mt. Dora. A decent theatre with plenty of kiosks for you to use and even a la carte for concessions. Most of your arrival here has you using self check-out kiosks, which all actually work. There's even a kiosk for Cash Only transactions. Getting in, grabbing snacks, and getting a seat is so much faster here. The staff were very polite and quick to help me and I noticed it was pretty clean throughout - even the restroom. My popcorn wasn't stale! Whoo hoo! They have recliner seats - double whoo hoo! You can sign up with their loyalty program to earn points towards $5 off at the concession stand or earn free tickets. Tuesdays tickets are $6 all day - you've got to love that. Even regular matinees are still under $10! I know where I'll be seeing all the big holiday films coming up. That and so much more - grateful for this Epic experience! read more

Visited our local theater for the first time to see Deadpool & Wolverine. We came on a Sunday evening and it was not very busy so it made getting concessions super easy. They have a self-service concession style, which isn't my favorite but it was easy and they had the usual suspects as far as candy, popcorn, and drinks go. One thing that was pretty cool was when we were checking it out we scanned out items and it suggested combo'ing them for a $6 savings! If you've been to the movies EVER you know the markup on snacks is wild, so to think we got our movie treats for 2 people for under $25 was impressive. Only one working "butter" machine for the popcorn so luckily it wasn't busy or that would have been a wait for sure. We were in theater 12 for our showing and arrived during previews, but it was still well lit enough to find our seats quickly. The seats were SO comfy and big and I love that they extended all the way out. The screen was HUGE. The theater was clean and at a comfortable temperature. All in all it was a great experience and we will definitely be back soon. read more

Epic Theatres - Mount Dora - Cinema Near Me - Mount Dora, Florida

We have seen movies here at this theater at least twice. It seems to show nearly the same films as the AMC Theater in Leesburg, the weekday early showings are about the same price, and the seats recline similarly, so I guess we should use this local theater more often. They have special showings of classic movies that we haven't yet tried. The theaters seem to be slightly smaller, so if you go to busier shows, it might be trickier sometimes to get seats. I am not a member of their rewards programs and we don't buy anything from their concessions, so I can't make any value judgement there. There is plenty of parking,but always approach it from the front and center of the lot. It looks like you can access it from the stores on either side, but we wasted a few minutes trying to do that in vain. read more

I'll start with the good: the seats are very comfy recliners with cupholders and plenty of space for every human. What seems like a couple feet of walking space between extended foot rests and wall rounds out the comfort, since a person can easily walk between both without you moving. The screen is large and sharp, the sound clean and not too loud. I also liked that the ads in the beginning were quite a bit lower volume than the previews or actual movie. The place is large and clean, even the bathrooms, and there's plenty of well-lit parking Now the less desirable: their pricing is high, all across the board. A large popcorn is $9, two beers are $20, and two movie tix $30.86, after taxes and service charges for using their app. Um, that's a decent dinner at many places! Be aware, the bar area is diminutive and your options very limited. If you want a bourbon on the rocks, for example, you can't have it. See, they have a system where the 15 year-old employee just pushes a button and out comes the portioned drink. Meh... I'll check them again; perhaps they'll do matinee or special pricing in the future. In the meantime, I guess I'll stick with Netflix ;) read more

We went to Wach, big fat Greek wedding three. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the place, and all the food options they had to offer since I was in a wheelchair I had to pick the disabled area. Unfortunately, my husband sat next to me, and his seat did not recline all the other seats do recline and look very comfortable, the only downside is it is very expensive. read more

Really nice big screens, but with their ridiculous prices I'll only be back for special occasions or on a $6 Tuesday if they keep that promo going. I wonder if they realize that AMC is only a few minutes up the road with $4 matinees every day? This place is quite an experience. I totally get the hype that all my friends give epic theaters. Walking in- the building looks so magnificent! Everything is just so much bigger than I'm used to seeing in my little town. I ordered nachos at the snack bar-- I like that it comes with two bags of chips, and two cheese containers. Perfect for splitting with a friend. The theater was so big! Unlike anything I had ever seen- stadium seating and a massive movie screen. I came here to see the incredibles 2- and it was so fun. I love how the seats recline . With all that being said-- am I in a rush to return back here? Considering the ticket prices - no. I get they need to upkeep this awesome establishment- but I'm fine with going 15 minutes down the road to pay $5 to see it at AMC - who also has reclining seats. Lake county finally has its long awaited movie theater! I have been looking forward to trying this theater out since I heard it was coming to Mount Dora. We visited tonight to see Avengers infinity wars. I bought my tickets online and was able to select my seats. I didn't have to worry about there being a lot of people in the theater, apparently, because the place was pretty empty. Kind of surprising considering this is such a new theater and a popular movie. I had a barcode emailed to me with tickets that needed to be picked up at a kiosk. I was having trouble seeing the kiosk that was outside because of the lighting and it wasn't scanning the barcode. An employee came out and helped me type in a number that caused the machine spit out my tickets. Once we got inside I noticed that there were several machines in the lobby. These would've been easier to see in the bright daylight than the one outside. We walked up to the concession counter to grab some snacks and was surprised to see that it was self serve. The popcorn was already bagged and you helped yourself. We wanted to add a room for butter in the middle so I had the guy make a fresh bag for us. Then we went to pay at one of the two registers and were given a cup to fill ourselves. Everything is do it yourself here, from the milkshakes to the popcorn to the butter to the sodas. There isn't much interaction with staff and the interactions we did have they were not very friendly. The cashier acted like she wanted to be anywhere rather than working (which may very well be true) as did the guy who took our tickets. Once inside we found our seats which were plainly marked and settled in. I like that the seats have power recline and also powerhead rest so you can get the perfect angle on the movie. Plenty of room in the seats and the place still smells new, not enough spilled sodas spilled yet to make that musty movie theater smell. The quality of the movie itself seems very good. Nice big IMAX screen and good sound and picture quality. Tickets are pricey and there were no children prices so everyone paid $15. Snacks are also expensive as is to be expected. They did have a bar as well if you would like a cocktail or beer/wine. I'm hoping that because this place is so new they still have some training to do with their employees. Nice facility. Went to an early movie. It was very painful to but tickets online. The system kept glitching. When we arrived their computer was down. When we got you our seats one was very dirty with popcorn and what I assume was butter. The last time we went they doubled booked one of our seats and blamed their computer system. I hope they get their act together since these theaters have the potential for being nice if they are properly managed. read more

Great theater. So much better then its dirty sister theater in Lee Vista Orlando. This one has great parking. Very clean inside and out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The sound and temperature in the theater is always perfect. No thugs and overly rowdy and rude patrons like at the Lee Vista location. People are cool and not on their phones and talking. I recently went to see "Countdown" right before the movie started about 15 teenagers walked in and I was like o boy, here it comes with the talking and other stuff but they were so well behaved. I was so looking forward to my first movie at this new theater. I am SO disappointed. The theater itself is nice. Seats comfortable. Restrooms clean. Sound decent but not the best I have experienced. Takes forever to get tickets. The theater is messy. It looks clean but is not. Food taste awful. Every drink they had was flat.

This is a great theater! All of the theaters have reclining seats which are super awesome! Decent prices and a really clean, nice place. New theater breaking in. The young staff seems to be trying and their lack of experience shows. $1 hot dog and pizza days are awesome. The theater is neat and clean and the manager Jeff was polite. There were some sound issues with the XL theater so hopefully that is fixed. The corners of the flat railings and banisters have sharp corners (as if they laid the plywood down and painted it) so watch out! read more

Management including the GM are unfriendly & appear to not care about the needs of their customers. This even trickles down to the hourly teen/young adult employed, except for one young girl who is a former student of mine who made a good 6-8 attempts to get our cards to work. Management is very uninformed about MoviePass cards. As a result my adult daughter & I are out $11.50 each. And I missed the beginning of the movie because I was attempting to resolve the issue per management's instructions. I have since emailed both MoviePass & EPIC corporate. At this point, if I could I wouldn't have even given them a one star. read more

Walking in, the theater is beautiful. Buying tickets and choosing seats was very simple. I decided to get a beer at the bar. They sell some craft beers I had not tried previously. I asked if I could try a few (most places that sell craft beers allow a few tastings). I was told they can't do that. Bummer, but ok. I saw a nice picture of a Blue Moon draft, I ordered and I said "you do have oranges, right?" I was told no, they did not have oranges, even though the advertisement showed one. We went on to order popcorn and a drink, which cost a fortune, but was expected. I asked an empty bag so I could mix the butter and split between my son and I. I was told they couldn't do that either. The XL movie screen was beautiful. The seats were comfortable. My suggestion is they work on a few things with concessions. Went to see "Aladdin" late evening. Great theatre, terrible experience. A woman came with four kids, the youngest being a two year old girl. The two year old talked LOUDLY throughout the entire movie! I attempted to "shhh" her because the mother would not. I started to ask the manager to refund my admission cost, thinking and hoping that the little girl would settle down. She did not. The only relief came when the mom took her to the rest room. BTW, it was unbelievably disgusting how this family left the area where they were sitting --- trash and food everywhere! I think that with movies where the attendance may contain children who aren't quite ready for the theatre experience, I will NOT visit Epic XL, but maybe one of the theatres in The Villages instead. read more

The XL screen at this theater is huge, but not the best quality. All of the seats are reserved leather recliners. All of the seats are exactly the same, so ignore any designation that describes some seats as couches. There is no such seating there. This theater is designed to have less staff and more self serve kiosks. read more

Gave it 2 tries and will not be returning. Theater itself is great. Everything else sucks! Staff needs training especially on how to treat paying customers. Prices are way too high seeing that I am the one serving myself. The concession area needs more signs to explain how things are ran, since employees don't need to interact with people to explain. All I can say, is thank goodness, Lake county has another theater to enjoy, where employees actually interact with customers and the prices are way better. read more
