I like that they added reserved seats, so we can get our favorite seats, all together, without having to go early. I would suggest skipping that line by buying tickets ahead of time online. But... prices are higher for tickets than they are for other theaters, even ones which have reclining leather seats. Popcorn can be hit or miss, mozzarella sticks and pizza are decent, and I like that they have slushees. But overall, the main reason to go here is the convenient location for Clayton/Garner. I wish they would update to reclining leather seats and lower the ticket prices a bit to match other theaters. Not our go-to theater, unless we are short on time, cause several theaters in Raleigh offer more comfortable seating, cheaper tickets, and better food. read more

Pop corn was everywhere on the floor. Almost everything was out of stock including the drinks, candy, nachos. Terrible customer service. Drink machine messed up and gave me water instead of lemonade and they made me pay for another lemonade. Inside the theater ( where the screens are ) was pretty clean, the main lobby on the other hand there was pop corn everywhere on the ground and drink cups ( some full ) all over the counters. 1/10, would not go again. read more

This theater is very expensive and can be pretty busy. It's almost $13 for an adult ticket. Concessions are high also. I wouldn't mind this if I was getting a quality cinema-going experience but I feel like I am getting cheated here. Many of their theater rooms seem to have dim projectors and crackly/buzzy speakers. They occasionally turn their sound up way too loud, so much so my friends and I have experienced ringing in our ears after movies here. This is a fairly new, fourteen-screen movie theater. It's a pretty nice one--there are decorative details in the lobby and hallways, and it has more than the usual concessions. The seats are very comfortable. The seat backs are quite high, and they lean back nicely. The arm rests can also be brought up or down. The movie selections are just the typical, major studio releases. If you're looking for foreign or independent films, you probably need to look elsewhere. read more

I haven't been to this theater in a while since I tend to hit the IMAX in downtown Raleigh. But I decided to go back for old times sake and see Exodus: Gods and Kings while it was still in the theaters. In 3D of course. Drinks. Still the HUGE cup. Left the show with 3/4 of it left. If you're going to spend $6 on a soda you might as well feel like you purchased a six-pack worth. Restrooms. Still clean. Sound. If you have loose teeth don't come here. The bass alone will render you with a toothless grin a hillbilly would be proud of. Squeal like a pig boy, squeallll.... oinnk oinnnnnkk!! Picture. Not IMAX but it doesn't profess to be. Good enough for me! Seats. I did NOT look for stains as some reviewers at theaters tend to do. Why? I .... just.... don't..... want.... to..... know. This theater features seats that do a slight amount of reclining which makes it feel like it goes back farther than it does. Just springy enough to almost feel like you can rock back and forth. Nice. If only I could have come here as a teen with a date or two (two might make it a little obvious what was going on but hey.. a three-way is a three-way).... It was nice to come back here. This is my second time at this theater. I keep forgetting that this theater exists because it's in a hidden area of the shopping center not all that visible. However, the good news is that there is plenty of parking. Plenty of restaurants surrounding the theater, clean restrooms, and the surround sound were loud enough to remind me of a rock concert (good, if you enjoy premium sound). Seats are somewhat comfortable but could use a quick cleaning on the arms of sticky soda residue. Staff appears friendly. Bad news: no automated ticket purchase kiosk, the customer service desk always appears to be closed and show signs of dust as if it never seemed to have opened since the theater grand opening. When we arrived only 1 person was working the ticket office. Popcorn was priced over $8 and a drink I think cost your first newborn. Prices are far above typical theaters in the Cary area. The viewing of our movie was offset from the screen showing part of the movie in the blackout curtain area (when staff was notified, nothing was corrected). The electronic signage appeared to be not working properly (strange that this is basically a new theater). No foreign movie selections for this side of town. Seems like the Rialto in Raleigh or Galaxy in Cary are the only ones remaining for foreign titles. While I am pleased that the town of Garner has a decent movie theater it may be showing signs of premature aging. At the current rate this theater may have difficulty competing or retaining moviegoers if it cannot keep up with technology, concession costs or simple aesthetics such as signage, housekeeping and screen quality. I would recommend this location. However arrive a bit early because this theater seems severely short staffed. read more

We always have a good experience at White Oak Cinemas. They feature an excellent selection of films, the lobby is spacious, the theaters are clean and seats are comfortable. On a busy weekend, parking can be tight, but you don't have to walk far. Matinee pricing is the way to go if you don't mind seeing a movie in the afternoon. 3-D films are an additional $3.50. Concessions are outrageously priced, but this seems to be the norm these days. The staff are friendly and restrooms plentiful. There is also plenty to offer at White Oak within walking distance including sushi, mexican, and oysters! With lots of other stores in the area, you can get all your errands done as well. read more

White Oak Cinemas is a fairly new theater complex tucked behind the White Oak shopping center in Garner. It has all of the amenities that one would expect in an up to date theater complex including high priced concessions. It is a clean and comfortable place to see a movie. We visited Sunday afternoon and due to an equipment malfunction, the movie started about 15 minutes late. Not a big deal. At the end of the movie, the manager was outside apologizing and handing all of the attendees free passes to another show. This went beyond what I expected and thought it was very nice of her. Would easily give 5 stars for customer service, movie selection, cleanliness, and seat comfort. BUT.... I've been cheated by the box office more than once. The ladies will "accidentally forget to return your correct change more often than not; always keeping a dollar or two for themselves. Really awesome theater - just count your change. The theater itself is fine. Not assigned recliner seating but that is not a huge deal for me. Good selections of food and drink choices, including burgers, beer, and wine. The problem is if you come 25 minutes before the movie you still won't get through the line at the food stand before your movie starts so you don't actually get to enjoy any of that. It was around 1 on a Sunday and they only had three registers open so the lines actually forced them to move the ticket taker back to make room for the lines. Pretty ridiculous. I also didn't like seeing all of the popcorn already in bags or buckets in display cases. Kind of wonder how fresh it is given you can't see any fresh popcorn being popped. I've gone to the White Oaks theater in Garner a lot over the years, and the last time I visited I found it a very unpleasant experience. The theater was trashy in the bathroom and in the walkway and there were overflowing trash bins in the theater room we were in. Really noticeable and gross. It wasn't dirty in just in one place. The popcorn was clearly old and out of bags that had to have been popped long before. No fresh popcorn in any of the bins. I'm ok with that, but the popcorn was cold and tasted old. The theater was not super busy--so there was really no excuse for the lack of cleanliness and the musty smell. I don't plan to return to this theater for a while. There are too many other options. It is the most conveniently located theater for me, but this last trip was unpleasant in many ways, and movie-going is not cheap. read more

This theater does not allow kids under 17 to stay maand watch a PG rated movie by themselves. My daughter and a few friends wanted to see a movie together but they were all under 17. They were 16. We ordered our tickets online with some old regal gift cards we had. We were able to skip the line at the box office and go right in. We than waited 25-30 minutes to get popcorn, slushee, and two hot dogs. They were out of blue slushy so we got the red one. Our hot dogs is why waited so long. The server checked before we paid but than we had to wait for them to make them. We got one after waiting a while and then waited 15 minutes for the second one. I was about to get my money back but they were slammed and never got to talk to anyone and probably would of been even longer. For the time we waited for the hot dogs I would of thought they would of been good. Nope. The hot dog bun was so hard that I just ate the hot dog. The popcorn was very salty and took a few taste buds off. We still demolished it. Than you get to the seating in the theater. Crammed. No elbow room or place to put your purse besides the floor. The seats don't stay in reclining and there is no way I would ever sit in the first 3 rows it is just way to close to the screen. Would we go back? Probably not unless we got regal gift cards again and had to use them. I took my daughter last weekend to see Beauty and the Beast. The theater is clean and well-stocked. I wished they would have cleaned their floors better after the previous showing, because I slipped on something wet while trying to sit down and went down pretty hard on my knee and all of my food and my drink went everywhere. The manager was nice and replaced my 20 bucks worth of nachos and drink. She took my name and number down, but nobody called me. That's alright, though. No issues with this theater, they have instituted a parent required rule for kids under 18 for evening weekend flicks. I know it's a pain for the "good kids" but it's really cut down on loitering, sarcastic comments being yelled in the parking lot, and noise/cell phone usage during the movie, which I greatly appreciate when I am there on a date with my wife, or watching a kids film with the kiddos. read more

This theater is decent, and mostly digital projection (at this point, I believe they've upgraded to all digital projection). They do have digital 3D here, but I've never bothered with a showing, as the prices are close to what you pay for IMAX downtown. We just go to the IMAX for those showings. They definitely show mass market screenings, sometimes four screens at a time. If you want to see a movie in The Avengers franchise, you'll have no shortage of times when it's playing. It's a good place to take in a matinee early on a Saturday. The seats are stadium style, which means you'll get a clear view of the screen, unless you have to take the seats near the bottom of the theater. Noise bleedthrough from adjacent theaters can be bad, especially if an action flick or horror movie are playing next door. That seems to be the case with most establishments these days. It's relatively clean, and they have a decent number of bathrooms to support the crowd they draw, which is massive. You won't find many (if any), independent films here, even the ones with more press, like Dallas Buyers Club. The reason for that is the community support/demographics in the Garner area. My wife and I went to see "August Osage County" here. We had the entire theatre to ourselves, for the vast majority of the film. My wife enjoyed it enough that she went back the next night. Same results. This was with them running 3-4 sold out showings of Kevin Hart's "Ride Along" each night. If it isn't a blockbuster or a religious film, the community just doesn't have an appetite for it. The refreshment line can be a bit slow, and the ticket counter is generally understaffed during peak times. Notes: Get there 20-30 minutes early, if you're not going for a matinee. Stay away from this place on weekends where a blockbuster release is taking place. The parking lot is insane. read more

This theater is a really good place to catch a film. The projection quality is sometimes breathtaking. I recently moved to NC and when I saw how clearly the projection quality of the films were hear compared to my old theater back in RI, I couldn't believe what I was missing out on. The concessions, like any movie theater, are overpriced, but at least they compensate for this by giving you HUGE SIZES! Their "small" beverage is bigger than my bladder! if you're going to overcharge, you might as well make the size worth while. I also love that this theater serves Coca-Cola Icees. Audio quality has varied from perfect to having a tiny bit too much bass when I go, but I've never had an issue with it. My only real complaint is that this theater doesn't get enough non-religious independent or foreign films (I have to drive to Regal Crossroads 20 in Cary to see those). Also, they don't usually have really late showing for movies, and I personally love seeing midnight movies. Overall, though, this is a very good theater to see new major releases in. read more

This is literally the worst movie theater I've ever been to! I come back thinking things will change and they never do! Every single time I've been here for a movie, I have to go back out to the main lobby to tell them if they don't turn the AC on I want my money back! It's absolutely ridiculous! Why is hotter inside the theater than it is outside??? Not too mention there is a strong stale smell inside the theaters and the seats smell too! Only reason I come is because it's close to home! I'll drive to AMC 16 in Morrisville from here on out, movies are cheaper there anyways AND the seats recline! Oh and the prices are cheaper at AMC as well! this movie theater is A-OK. It's new, there isn't a bad seat in the house, there are many open concession lines so you can get your snacks easily. Where it suffers is the unbearable slow ticket sales in the front. There are two kiosks and the lines seem interminable. When you get up there you'll likely have issues with getting your tickets to print or some other mishap so its best to go early. But they serve Icees so it makes up for it. read more

Price: Can be a little expensive especially for 3d movies and concessions People talking or texting: This can be a issue like most theaters, I've been going to this theater for years now and 4/5 of the time I end up having somebody sitting next to me texting or having a running conversation with their friends. The theater staff usually does one walk in during the showing and when informed of disruptive people usually are not very helpful in stopping the behavior from continuing. Would be good to have a warning before showings that excessive texting or talking will not be tolerated and abusers will be removed with no refund given. Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas has adopted this policy and it's working great for them with rave reviews from their movie attendees. This ranks as one of my favorite theaters in the Triangle. I typically buy my tickets on Fandango, breeze through, and head straight for the big buttery popcorn counter. They have lots of selections (fried cheese and Sweetart ropes anyone?) and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. It was a little trashed behind the counter with popcorn on the floor, but I guess that can be expected. The theater itself was clean and chairs are very comfortable with movable arm rests. Go see a movie! It's still one of the best "things to do" in my book and this is a great place to do it. read more

Absolutely disgusted by the assigned seats policy. My wife and I were in 2 seats for 30 minutes and watched all of the ads and trailers until we were rudely interrupted by this forceful woman who claimed we were in her seats. If she wanted to watch the movie then she should up showed up when it started at 7:30pm and not 8pm. When I purchased tickets to the movie, the cashier didn't say a word about our seats. After looking at my tickets after the movie started, we were "assigned" to row A which is the front row. NO ONE BUYS ROW A TICKETS!!!! This is a scam by the theater to sell out the movie. Gone Girl. Great Movie! And the White Oak Cinemas was a fine place to see it. All the screens are standard size, nothing large format or Imax, but that isn't a bad thing since I'm not accustomed to that anyway. The theaters are clean and the high-backed soft cushy chairs were comfy and lean back a bit. There are fold up arm rests with cup holders on each side of each seat. The Popcorn was good, and they have a self-serve butter station. Nice place! read more
