We got there around 2:30 for a 3pm showing.. we got our snacks and headed to the theater along with other people and we were all asked to leave because staff was still cleaning. Cool, no problems, except there were like no benches/seating in the hallways or main area so everyone was just standing around holding things..when the seats recline or lift the foot legs up they do make a noticeable sound that can get annoying after while.: I had to go to my car to get medicine mid movie and the worker was understanding and said it was no problem and let me right back in. read more

Been here 3-4 times over the past year. Every time I'm disappointed with the projection quality. Either too dark (bright daylight scenes look perpetually dusk), which is worse in 3D, picture is slightly out of focus, or misaligned with the screen itself. I come from a larger city where I suppose theaters are calibrated more often. Here, what's the point of advertising Christie digital projectors if you keep the luminance low like they did in the old days to preserve projector bulb life by a few hours? Ruins otherwise great films for everybody like F1 and Toy Story 5. Never again. read more

First, why should I pay a fee for using my device to buy a ticket? 2nd, last time there a friend squashed a huge roach in the lobby. 3rd, Popcorn is dry, cold, and buttered very lightly, with no chance to ask for more. Yes, there are self-pump devices, but they will soak the top layer and leave rest still dry and cold, and flavorless! Deficiencies with projection quality get worse every visit. I had attended regularly, but when I add up all these problems I realize it's time to stop. A convenient location just isn't enough--even the recliners are cracked and aging. read more

Terrible. Me and my friends went to see the new backrooms movie, and the service was terrible. All 4 of us bought tickets, in a row. And when we went to sit, there were only 3 seats available and they had their correct seats. So me and my friend had to SHARE A SEAT. Wakefield Marquee Cinemas has assigned seating, a large parking lot and very friendly employees. The seats are comfortable and the video and audio are good. I tend to go here to view movies now as it is better than other theaters that are dirtier and in worst shape. It still isn't cleaned to my liking and hasn't been updated or refreshed. So I hope improvements are to keeping the theater cleaner. read more

i was a employee here, manager is very rude through any minor issue if it's not done exactly how she wants it she will raise hell, but besides that the place is very unclean, i've seen roaches and bugs in the back but besides that the highschool employees that they usually hire are stuck cleaning by themselves with no help from managers for 3-4 hours after closing to scrubbing the floors and making sure not even a grain of salt is under the microwave. i've also tried negotiating with me to have a day off for my summer schedule since i had been working there for some time and haven't had a day off since i started working monday through sunday always had night shift and very rare morning shifts, they refused and told me no. however when it came to the person next to me that asked that's worked there for 3 more months then me they allowed them to PICK how many days they work. now not only was i overworked but they have also been paying they're employees 8 dollars an hour and giving them extremely long hours. 1star wouldn't recommend working here. i'd choose another movie theater but it's unfortunate there isn't any more near the area. read more

Haven't been to a movie theater in quite awhile. Went last night (Tuesday 6:40pm) to see The housemaid. The tickets were a great price, however there is no need to purchase them, as you can walk right in and no one is there to check. The food was absolutely ridiculously priced. Super disappointed. These days, I rarely see the appeal to see a movie in the theater. Home movie setups have come a long way. We recently decided to check out a movie that seemed worth a theater experience. When we showed up to our seats (that were very unclean) we noticed a tear in the theater screen. Pretty lame that they would have obviously known about the tear in the screen and still scheduled shows in the room. Would not recommend this theater... if they don't care about your experience, it's not worth you money. Projector also seems old. The quality was pretty sub par for 2023 read more

Nothing to write home about. Your average theater. It's not as clean as it could be. Lots of popcorn residue pretty much all over. We prefer driving into Raleigh versus going here. We avoid it at all costs on a Friday or Saturday night. Wayyyyy too many teenagers. We've been a few times where they are just screwing around and they ruin the experience. Today we did a matinee showing of lightyear. Took my 5 and nearly 2 year old. We did popcorn, a drink and kids tray for my toddler. Staff was a bit slow getting concessions. But they're all teenagers so it's okay. We tend to have patience as long as they're polite. An average theater. Average prices. An average experience. read more

Recently went in to see "The Beekeeper," and the experience was disappointing. We have gone there often in the past, but will consider other options going forward. In line for concessions we learned that no more fresh popcorn was being made, and that the only option was for three-hour old popcorn sitting in the dirty looking glass display in the front of the counter. They openly told us it had been sitting there for several hours. Upon the film beginning, the lights in the theatre were never turned down or off. It was strange. At the end of the movie, the screen was shut off before the credits could even begin. We saw Statham dive into the water and then it was just over with no warning. Not sure if that was the actual ending or not. I understand that this location is practically run by teenagers, but maybe some oversight is necessary at this point. read more

Overall, a good experience at Marquee today. We saw a movie at 1:15 and the parking lot was mobbed. It's obvious that Marquee Wakefield is trying to make some improvements- the outside of the building has been painted and the new addition of comfy recliners in the theaters is very nice. Plus, at box office, you can choose which seats you'd like. Prices have increased - two matinee tickets was $20. Yikes. And, as expected, concessions are through the roof. Two drinks, small popcorn and a snack was $19. Holy cow. Anyway, theatre was clean, employees were friendly, ladies room was clean and theatre we sat in was spotless. Recliners are very nice and overall, it was a nice way to kill two hours. I'll visit Marquee again in the future, but Raleigh Grande is my go-to for the simple fact that you can order actual lunch/dinner items (pizza, truffle fries, chicken tenders, etc.). read more

I recently reviewed another theater, admitting that I had yet to give the renovated Wakefield theater a chance - chance has been given. As other reviewers have stated, the new recliners are nice. The option to choose your seats ahead of time online, an additional improvement. I did not however see an option to print my tickets at home and still had to go to the window to show an id and card that was used for purchase. That's fine, I guess I've become spoiled by the super awesomeness of walking right inside with ticket in hand, printed or on my phone. Back to the new recliners; they are comfortable and easy to use. The seating area is still quite open, separated by railing, rather than by very private and sound enhancing separating walls, like at Raleigh Grande. Just sayin. Food options are pretty basic but typical of a theatre experience with candy, popcorn, hotdogs, sodas. The young man at the counter this day was very nice and provided good service. Restrooms were clean as wells as the lobby. Plenty of parking out front and some eating options nearby in case you do not want to eat at the theater. I feel that if you're a frequent movie goer, this theater is certainly just fine. I personally catch a few a year and have found that I prefer the Cinemark experience at Raleigh Grande. read more

Odd seating arrangement and too warm. Floors were sticky. Patrons were rude with no theater etiquette and one guy was blatantly vaping. Awful experience. I can't believe how downhill this place went. I grew up going here, but haven't gone to a theatre in 8 years. Husband and I decided to go and here's how it went... 1. When we were walking up the stairs, you can visibly see how much FOOD is under the seats. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned for days. It should be cleaned between showings. 2. In the middle of the movie, there was COCKROACHS walking on the wall next to me. They were massive. They walked across the wall, between my seat and the wall, behind the chair. I saw them a few times. But not surprising because when I pulled out my flashlight to see where they went, there was loads of food behind the seats too. I couldn't enjoy the movie without panicking that a roach will walk on me. 3. The reclining chairs were nice, but they were sticky and falling apart. Just awful. And sad. End of 2016 I think it was they did a massive remodel and now every seat reclines almost flat and all seats are reserved. So I'm updating my review and increasing one star. I no longer have to fight to get there early to stand in line can sneak in two minutes before a show starts and get my spot. Now the longest line is the concessions Which are almost 2x the movie ticket price. You can't get A drink and popcorn outside a little kids sized for under $10 which should be considered a crime against nature. I get that everyone needs to make a profit but that's ridiculous and why I don't hit the theater as near as much as I used too. This isn't Disney world I shouldn't have to shell out 2x a dinner for a family of six to bring my family and treat them to popcorn and a drink. Everyone's doing it isn't a great answer. The industry wonders why attendance is down. Takings kids to a theater and saying no you can't have popcorn because we can eat the rest of the week on what I spend on three or four large popcorns is nuts. read more

I was stranded it was raining I left my lights on in my car and I needed a jump. I went into this establishment and asked for help. The manager Jeff said he would check to see if he had jumper cables. He came back shortly with jumper cables. He came out to help me it was cold and raining. I was so grateful. If only the pricing was more reasonable for candy and refreshments. This theater attempts to be clean but it is kind of dated. In Randolph MA there is a showcase theater that actually has a semi restaurant attached with three floors and a full arcade. If that was ever built here this theater would probably seize to exist. The new seats at the cinema are awesome! It is nice to be able to recline and relax with my feet up at the movie and not have to drive 45 minutes across town! I also love being able to reserve seats ahead of time. In order to get five stars a few improvements need to be made: higher quality snacks and a better way to process tickets purchased online.
