The theater is behind Home Depot in The Plant shopping center. There is abundant easy parking. I used the kiosk to buy my ticket. Nice large theater. Clean bathrooms. This is a "go-to" theatre for me. No matter where you go, you'll find youngsters at certain time, but that doesn't bother me. -Parking lot is spacious. -Employees are nice. -Tickets are inexpensive compared to Arclight. WORST movie experience of my lifetime. I don't even know where to begin. We watched a 6:30pm showing of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol2 at the DBox theater tonight (Monday 5/15). Is it possible to have shotty experience from beginning to end?! Yes. The staff couldn't direct us to the correct theater and it took several trips back and forth to finally get seated. The ticket said theater 17. He pointed to the right, which had theater 9-16. Couldn't find it. Walked back and asked again, was then pointed to 1-8. Still wrong. Told him that it was a DBox movie - blank stare. Poor guy apologized and contacted the manager to find "theater 17". Totally felt like a twilight zone moment. It was indicative of poor management and training. Turned out it was supposed to be theater 7 but it printed 17. Anyhow, when we finally got into the right theater, we realized we weren't given 3D glasses and had to go back outside to the front ticketing window to demand them. Mind you, no one helped and we had to leave the paid area of the theater to get them from guest services outside. Ridiculous. The theater itself was dirty and small. It was obviously not cleaned after each showing. The cup holder of my seat had a leftover nibs container in it. Yuck. The screen was also tiny compared to AMC. Isn't DBox supposed to be premium?! To top this off, parents brought in several kids that were way too young. They were running around and talking throughout the movie. One was obviously an infant and cried for about 15 minutes. The parents did nothing. The staff did nothing. What a waste of time and money. I left feeling angry, frustrated, and ripped off. Remember those 3D glasses? They were so cheap that my husband's pair broke in the middle of the movie and had to go back outside for another pair. Mine broke towards the end of the movie. Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and patron elsewhere. read more

Lying to customers about seat availability: Went to the theater to watch MI: Fallout and enquired about D-Box tickets for the 8 pm show on 08/01/18. The screen showed that 2 seats which I was particularly interested in were taken. I decided not to buy at that point and left the counter. On checking seats for the same show on the self-service kiosks soon after, I discovered, to my surprise, that those seats were still available. This is extremely disappointing on the part of Regency staff and hopefully management will look into this ASAP. read more

I came here to watch a kids movie. The place is pretty clean . The customer service was amazing from the girl who greet me at the entrance from the young man that help me get my goodies. Anthony was such a great help he was very polite friendly made me feel welcome ND value as a customer. This means alot went you have kids talking to you all at onces. Omg. Came here to watch a movie because it was the only place that was showing Assassins Creed. Bought tickets and came to theatre 2. What did we see. Half the theater was taped off by yellow tape and water was pouring in from the roof due to the rain. The whole side of the theater floor was covered in water and a bucket even in one chair. Came for the Toy Story 4 showing at 6:40pm this past Saturday. While I understand that it's opening weekend and expected it to be a little busy and possibly sold out, I didn't expect however for theatre 12 to be DIRTY! I do not know why it says closed but business is open! It has been for a while. I went to see sonic on Friday and staff were doing amazing. Especially the seater Melisa, she was so friendly and so helpful with helping me and my family head to our seats made us enjoy our visit more. I wish they had seaters all the time. The theater was clean and people in concessions were fast and kind. You get what you pay for, popcorn was warm and freshly made. The seats aren't as comfortable as AMC but it is a nicely kept theater. read more

This place is old, and the people who come here are poor. Expect bad movie going experiences, adults brining toddlers into R Rated films, audience members yelling at the movie, people talking, etc.. Plan ahead for lazy and unattentive staff, old seats, dirty floors and general lack of effort from everyone employed here. That said, the matinee prices are $6.75. Good. They have a few D-Box seats, but there is an $8 surcharge, per-ticket. Skip it. Also, the seats are just dropped into the normal theater, so you can't sit anywhere, you would have to sit where a D-Box seat was placed. Ridiculous. Lots of parking. (I am trying to come up with good things to say here....) You are better off maybe anywhere else. Maybe just go read a book. read more

I've seen a lot of reviews on here that talk very poorly of this place, and I certainly don't doubt them, but as for me personally, I've never had that experience here. That said, I've never had an AMAZING experience either. This theater is perfect for seeing a cheap flick. I almost always come between noon and 4:00 on a WEEKDAY so I avoid almost every single crowd. This way, I'm usually the only person in the theater. Big plus. As some said, their technology is not up to par or the best -- so don't come here to see the sequel to your favorite movie or the latest summer blockbuster. Save that for a GOOD theater. But if you're looking for a way to see a cheap movie in the afternoon, this place is good for just that! read more

After dark, when the Century 8 gets a little too, well, it's not as safe, I go to the Plant Sixteen. There's a frick'n police station in the parking lot. What more could you ask for safety wise? Sure, the theater's not all that. Older seats and bad sound, but when you want to see a crappy movie, this is the place you go. Also, if something really bad happens during the screening of the movie (like the sound goes out for a scene), they're really good about giving comp tickets. Just ask. read more

The Regency in granada hills is much cleaner and the staff there is friendlier. Got a totally bad experience with my friends. They sold us the wrong tickets for a movie and we only got to see the ending. They told us they would send us to the correct station but since it was in 3d, they wanted to sell us the 3d glasses. They made a mistake and they still wanted us to pay more money. It's a 5-star in terms of affordability. ---------------- THE GOOD ---------------- THE PRICES!!! Matinee is $6.75... and it's $6.50 with student ID. Always carry my CSUN ID for this reason. If there's a movie you're interested in and don't feel like dropping $13-$15 to see it at ArcLight... this spot is perfect. There's a 7-Eleven at the entrance to THE PLANT so back like in teenage deals... stop there for some candy, chips and drinks to stuff in your pockets and purses. Good for taking friends, I wouldn't recommend bringing a date because... ------------- THE BAD ------------- ...this place is in the ghetto. Borderline VAN NUYS-PANORAMA CITY area. It's in the PLANT PLAZA, which is a giant strip mall. I usually come here late at night (STUDENT ID is $6.50 all day/night) and it get's gully around here. Inside there's no problem. Sure there are some thug looking peeps from time-to-time but it's mainly just teens and families. One thing I hate is when the families bring their babies into the theatre / crying, which happens a lot here. --------------- THE UGLY --------------- Most of the attendants don't even check for STUDENT ID if you ask for a student priced ticket, but there's this one mean nasty older lady who is a biyatch! My sis (18 at the time) forgot her student ID and while she was looking for it the lady berated her, which caused my sis to pop off at her, something she rarely does in public. Never a good sign where there's a police station nearby. There's a POLICE STATION ON THE PLANT PLAZA grounds... and usually the streets closest to a police station are the unsafest (Van Nuys Police Station anyone) Lastly... the sound is adequate but compared to Citiwalk or ArcLight... it's garbage, same for size of screen, room in theatre and clarity of screen. All-in-all it doesn't bother me but if I'm going to see is big SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER ACTION MOVIE... I go else where. --------------------- CONCLUSION --------------------- Don't bring a date here. I really hate leaving bad reviews, which is why I don't usually leave them, but holy mother, this was the worst movie theatre I've ever been in. I went to see Inside Out with my boyfriend and as soon as we get into the parking lot, it was hectic just to find a spot. I'm used to the parking situation in Los Angeles, so that wasn't a big deal. But after we make it inside to pick up our tickets, it was absolute chaos. There was no order at all to the theatre, just a large mob in front of the concession stand and screaming children/shady people everywhere. Once again, It's not the best area in LA so what can I expect? So we get popcorn and a drink and make it into the theatre, which is disgusting by the way, to find that the whole theatre is about 20 feet long and all the seats are nearly one level so that you have to look over people to see the screen. Seriously. Speaking of the screen, the curtains and projector were crooked so the entire image was off and slightly blurry. Not to mention the loudly speaking families in front of us AND behind us, repeatedly kicking our seats, yelling, EATING OUR FOOD while making direct eye contact with me, and ruining the entire movie for us by talking and crying. I know it isn't the worker's fault that the people were the worst people to ever step foot into a movie theatre, but that was the crap cherry on top of the garbage cake. I. WILL. NEVER. COME. BACK. Nothing about the service here, but mostly about the people that come here to watch a movie. I came here last night to watch Dawn of the Planet of the Apes with my girlfriend and there was so much talking even while the movie started. One old guy started Oooh Aaah ing like an ape in the middle of the movie. I am disappointed. I usually go to a place with reserved seating where it's a bit more expensive, and I will always go there. This place has ruined my movie theater experience. Although it is located in the "ghetto" there is nothing unsafe about it. There is a police station right next door. As far as the movie quality I can assure you is superb. Why, you ask? Because I was an actual projectionist for this particular theater. We made sure our movies are always in focus. What happened to Kevin S might be true but it I know nothing similar happened when I was there... so it means it rarely happens if at all. They also have THX certification in some screenings. The only reason I give it a 3* and not more is because there is not much entertainment once you get out of the movie. All in all is a great theater its just the location sucks. read more

This place is aigh. You get to watch a movie for less than the amc and pacific theaters. It's just as clean as other theaters. They don't have the reclining seats tho. But the auditoriums are pretty big so they hold a lot of people. They're not angled enough so that you can completely see over the person in front of you. So if you got someone about your height sitting in front of you, you get to watch their head AND a movie. The staff are usually friendly and welcoming. read more

Worst theatre experience of my life. I was really looking forward to seeing "Wolf on Wall St.". I decided to go watch it late and was looking for 9pm show times. Unfortunately all the high class theatres had either 10 or 11 o'clock show times. My and my buddy decided to bite the bullet and give this theatre a chance despite all the bad Yelp reviews! Damn our lives. Big mistake. 1 hour into the movie the film starts freezing at 2 second intervals. At first we thought it was just a slight glitch to the particular scene but then it continued for another few minutes. Some of the other poor theatre patrons started leaving and we did the same. We were not about to sit through a 3 hour movie with these kinda of disturbances. Ohh, the bathroom stall had a beer can in the toilet and also had no mirrors. If your thrifty and want to take a chance at a descent / horrible theatre experience them this is the place for you. I'd recommend you put in the extra $5 and go a high class theatre. Night ruined. Went to see Iron Man 3 in DBox and it really enhanced our experience. I definitely recommend trying DBox!

What this place lacks in sound quality, picture clarity, and comfort of the seats, it makes up for it by having reasonable prices. We went on President's Day at 12pm and only paid $6.75 each for the daily matinee which lasts until 4pm. After 4pm, there's student discounts with tickets costing about 8 dollars. That's a bargain these days, and I am now a fan of this theater. I will return to this theater with earplugs and an extra seat cushion. SHOWTIME! read more

This was the first time I had been to this theater, I went with my husband, sister and her significant other. They had suggested this theater so we all decided to try it out. It is located at the Plant so you have a more than a few restaurants choose from. We bought tickets for the conjuring, and the prices are cheap and affordable. Pros: Cheap prices, and lots of movie selections. Cons: Way too many kids, and its packed with people. I mean, elbow to elbow packed. Furthermore, they started playing Grown Ups 2, even though we payed to watch the conjuring. It wasted 15 minutes of our time to get the right movie playing and it was quite annoying to be honest. Anyways, I recommend this place if you want to watch a movie at a decent price. Otherwise, if you are looking for quality just go with Imax, movie co. or Ipic if you have the extra money. read more

I can definitely see why the theater has a low rating. It is a bit worn down and could use a major overhaul, but otherwise, it's fine since just you're literally just sitting there to watch a movie. They do check your bag for snacks, so don't bother! I learned that the hard way. That actually might be the reason I won't come back.
