I was definitely disappointed in Reggie's on the Beach because I like Reggie's on State Street. The waitress was very busy and not too attentive. We order our food and drinks then we look up and almost an hour later without a food or drinks. We did get our drinks but they weren't that good at all. I check in with the waitress and she said it's coming. Another 30 minutes go by still no food. I asked for the manager and she said they had an issue with the fryer and everything was backed up. Mind you, no has said anything about it for the past almost 2 hours. She didn't apologize or offer anything off our bill. Also, they have an automatic 20% gratuity, which I don't like but understand. I played hooky from work today and so me and the BF decided to make it a beach day. The staff are so friendly and amazing. Sunday (our main server) was so terrific. Personable, made us a large sized pina colada, and was just all around wonderful to be around. The beach is nice and the cabanas are good for a hot sunny day...and there's a server who comes around to take your orders. I was in love with the music (brought me back to 90's R&B days). Also, the blackened fish sandwich is probably the best I've ever had. We will be back and can't wait to try more of the menu options. read more

If you want food with the view, this is where you go great summer vibe. I felt the staff could've been a little bit friendlier. I don't expect you to smile, but I also don't expect to mean mugged while I'm eating my food. Overpriced But I can say the Wings Mozz Sticks and Salads are quite good. (I'd give those items 4 stars) The Burger is ok. But don't DARE ATTEMPT to order a "Portabella burger" it sounds delicious but what came to the table was.. stiff,cold, "vintage" tomato focaccia "bun" , dr with 1 small SQUISHED FLAT, Floppy Portabella cap sprinkled in "mud" (which was supposedly a micro dash of goat cheese) for $17-18. It was promptly sent back but not before a passive aggressive exchange with the manager asking "what's the problem? Why don't you want it" ... which I told her and she asked "so why don't you LIKE it " AGAIN. So this time stopped explanation and just said "no thank you, I don't like it and you can have it back." I was not going to argue.. and I didn't. This is when our small party (4 and a child) paid the bill (gratuity is included) and got food from the locals grilling in the park. TIP. Bring your Beach chair / Blanket, Umbrella and Cooler with snacks & beverages (no glass bottles). I've been here twice, only because of the location. It's right on the beach and walking distance for me. So that's great. The first time I got one drink (technically charged for 2, since a bee fell into my 1st one and they don't remake drinks lol, it's on the front of their menu) and some food that I didn't enjoy. After my first visit, I vowed not to buy food from here because it just wasn't worth it. But I stopped by recently for a drink on a random Monday after a walk and the staff was actually pleasant this time. I sat on the inner bar section instead of the one near the sand instead. We had to wait several minutes after being seated to make any drink orders. Our drinks took forever to arrive and so did our food. We were never checked up on while we waited. You come here solely for a restaurant that's literally sitting on the beach. It's not the worst food in the world but there's definitely nothing amazing nor worth a return visit. There's two separate sitting areas & if you can opt for the tables closer to the lakefront. The chicken wings were sort of bland albeit boasting (best in the city). The quesadilla was downright horrific. Flavorless & the cheese sucked. Not even pico de gallo nor sour cream cold help. Lastly the fried shrimp were decent. This place has the worst staff in the entire city. They card (certain) people at the door, but not others. The waitresses and managers are always hungover, always unprofessional, always more than a little over it. The food is bad. A magical place. A spacious patio on the beautiful and broad 63rd street beach with well-spaced tables and a real tropical vibe. The food is nothing fancy, but it is tasty and honest (fresh grilled catfish and chicken) and the fries are unusually good. Stumbled onto the place half way through a 50 mile bike ride and it was perfect- I'm already planning to come back! Right off the lake front trail overlooking the beach. This is the sister restaurant to the Reggies music club. Great looking drinks and typical beach food. The Jumbo are great- I'll get them again. Also, unlike the majority of bars that use the term "jumbo" - these wings are sized to match. They a heavily breaded which I enjoy but I know some people don't. The staff is super friendly- I had Chrissy great chat with. The vibe/people/music/location is super chill. The service did seem a bit slow but I believe that is because of Covid safety/staffing so just come to relax. If you are in a rush this is not your spot. read more

I told the bartender (Billy) about my experience the previous night and he explained that it's two different crowds/vibe. The afternoon is more me, chill, laid back, I can hear the waves and just an overall relaxing atmosphere. I say at the bar where I redid my entire drink selection from the previous night. The lime margarita was good but the vodka, tonic and lime was delish! I had 3 plus a shot of Malort! Needless to say I left full and happy! I've been coming here since it's opening last summer and this place means even more during these unprecedented times. It's an outdoor dining establishment nestled on 63rd street beach which makes you feel like you're having a memorable afternoon on the ocean. Every time I come the service is accommodating, the food options are delicious, and the people who frequent just want to have a good time. If you plan on coming on a weekend, come early.
