We've lived down the street from here since September and finally stopped by! Since we were a little later on a Saturday morning, not all the options were available which was to be expected. Side note, my biggest pet peeve with bakeries is not having labels out, which is something I'll have to get over. The kind woman answered all of my questions before I decided on an apple fritter and berry fold-over (?). My husband landed on a iced long-John and cherry danish. As a huge fan of apple fritters, this one met my standards and was delicious! The pastry I had was also flaky, soft, and full of berry flavor. The prices cannot be beat either. One thing to note is that it is old school and outdated so don't expect any of the bells and whistles of the newer bakeries. Overall, we will be back to try more! read more

This is a mom and pop type place. The danish are good the donuts are decent. They are having problems with boxes. The staff are trying to cram everything g in bags. If you've never been here stop reading and get in your car now. The donuts are so fresh and delicious every morning. There is a wide selection to choose from, but you can't go wrong with the cinnamon sugar rectangle ones. So yummy. I went here for the last time today. Every time I stop here I regret it due to the women in the morning being so rude and unwelcoming. I mentioned this today at work, which is not far from the bakery, and everyone immediately spoke up saying they have had similar experiences. The last straw for me though was not wearing masks today. Are you in the mood for a decent salt rye AND the awesomeness that is being scowled at by old women who hate you? Then Regina Bakery could just be the place for you! I live very close and like to support the local small businesses. I regularly shop at the fruit & veggie shop as well as the butcher shop that reside right next to Regina. But I'm still as likely to drive 10 minutes out of the way to get some dinner rolls at Kroger than buy them from this place. Upon walking in you will be greeted by one of two types of employee: the indifferent high school girl, or the inconvenienced old woman. I know, I know... I'm really breaking up their day by walking into their store and trying to buy their stupid bread. Shame on me! Generally I prefer the high schoolers because while they don't really care about bread or customers they'll at least pay attention to what you want and try to get you back out the door in a timely manner. The old women, on the other hand, will greet you with their backs and won't even acknowledge you. After finishing a phone call with their cat or whoever is equally mean enough to be able to tolerate talking to them for any duration they'll turn around and sigh heavily that you haven't given up and left. No smile, no hello... just a sigh and a dead eyed stare barely concealing their annoyance. If then, to add insult to injury, you attempt to order something... prepare to be greeted by an exaggerated rolling of eyes. Upon asking to see a bag of rolls in an attempt to determine if they were squishy or hard this one old woman went to far as to pick them up and turn around 3 paces back from the counter, eying me suspiciously. It was as if she expected by to stuff them in my underwear and run out the door. It's pretty awesome being treated like you might be a thief. And now what... you want to pay with a credit card? YOU HEARTLESS BASTARD. Good luck explaining that people under the age of 40 rarely carry cash any more. Infuriated by having to spend an extra 10 seconds with you in the store she will undoubtedly sigh again... this time combined with the exaggerated eye rolling. 2x combo, double points! Anyway, it's like the shop is run by the Golden Girls. Except instead of hitting menopause and leveling out afterward they got stuck in some sort of permanent hybrid super customer hating PMS. It might literally kill them to smile. I can't say as I've ever had a bad product from them. It's all adequate leaning towards tasty. But I wouldn't be surprised to find out they're slipping poison into children's candy (and probably whatever I buy). So if you're in the market for a pretty good looking doughnut covered with sprinkles of pure elderly hate, please visit Regina Bakery the first chance you get! Also, they are closed on a different day than the rest of the shops in the complex in some sort of bitchy act of defiance. So that's stupid, too. read more

What a cute little bakery. By cute I mean the most friendly staff who seem to be on a first name basis with their customers. Then I walk in! This bakery has been near my place for over 10 years and I've never stepped a foot inside. I decided it was time and went in. Initially, it looked like someone looted the store for all of its donuts. The shelves were literally empty. There was no fancy decorative bakery feel. Just empty shelves. I discovered (through other reviews) they literally have a "rush hour" and folks tear through everything. Luckily, I had a few options and they were all good! The price is unbelievably cheap and I got half a dozen for $5. Where else in the city has anyone been able to get good donuts for that price? I like that the prices aren't inflated and everything is affordable. I respect it. Especially with so many overpriced donut shops/bakeries in town. They had cakes and cupcakes as well. There is a $5 minimum on all cards but what you get in return is well worth the expense. I'd like to go often enough where they would get to know my name but I don't think my waistline would approve! Its been a few years since the last review of this place, so let me assure you that things here are great! I've never used them to cater, so I can't speak about those complaints, but I've been going here since moving to the area in 2012, and never had an issue. Hint for anyone not familiar with the westside - 90% of the mom and pop places you'll find along the busier streets (Harrison, Glenway, etc) are IN STRIP MALLS. Nothing to be done about that one - you should know when going over to that part of town, some places are older looking/feeling but that's part of their charm (to me at least.) Folks at Regina are always quick, have EXCELLENT baked goods and basically that's all I need. Yes, some of the ladies that work there are less friendly than others, but I don't require hand holding or chit chat when all I want is some baked goods on a cold, dreary morning. One time I went in, and after spying my dog sitting in the car, the lady behind the counter threw a cookie in with my order for my pup because "My dog loves them so much and your's looks so sweet." You can't beat that! The only caveat I would have is that they have a $5 minimum on charges - with what they charge, that recently equaled out to 3 cake donuts, 2 cinnamon rolls and a cheese Danish...though my belly was happy, my waistline wasn't such a fan. :) read more

Great stop. I've ordered cakes from Regina Bakery and have stopped for a snack several times. The service is always very welcoming and quick. They also go out of their way to meet your needs. I often ask them if they have this or that and they are quick to call down the street if it's not on-site. Their cakes have been delicious every time. read more

I've never felt so compelled to warn other consumers ... Beware!!! We hired Regina Bakery to make our wedding cake, especially since a close family member happen to be good friends with the owner. We asked for a simple cake with butter cream icing, piping and monogram, and the people at Regina's assured us the basic design would be a piece of cake(pardon the pun) . When we arrived at the reception, we noticed the cake had not been completed! There was a layer of icing, resembling an amateur's first attempt at cake decorating 101. The minor details we paid quite a bit extra for, were missing. We assumed the bakery just forgot to finish the cake, and we decided to call for a partial refund. The family member who (now apologetically & embarressed) offered to call and at this point, and when she politely asked the people at Regina's if they would remedy their mistake, they RUDELY told her there was nothing they could do to fix it since the wedding was over, and that was that. They hung up, and never talked to her again! If they treat people they know well like nothing more then a waste of their precious time, how will they treat you? How do they treat the quality of the product they make? How do they treat the food that you buy there & consume? Opt for buying your baked goods from Kroger's..at least you get decent service and treated like a human being. read more
