Beware of Dishonest Business Practices This place has a huge sign advertising FREE coffee with any egg order, so I came in this morning expecting exactly that. I ordered an egg and cheese bagel with salt, pepper, and ketchup, along with a coffee--since, according to their own sign, it was supposed to be free. The man at the register (who I assume was the owner) charged me extra for the coffee anyway. When I politely pointed out that the coffee should be free, he acted clueless and said, "Oh, I didn't know you wanted the special." Seriously? Why would anyone knowingly choose to pay extra for something clearly advertised as free? He then said, "Okay, I'll give it to you," but still charged me the full amount. When I asked again if the discount had actually been applied, he flat-out claimed that it had. I showed him right there that it hadn't, and instead of fixing it, he shrugged it off and said there was nothing he could do--basically trying to keep the extra money. At that point, I walked out. It's not about the price of a coffee--it's about honesty. If you advertise something, honor it. This felt deceptive, shady, and completely unprofessional. Disgusting business practices. I was pretty disappointed with my experience at Rego Bagels. I thought it'd be a good experience since it was pretty packed when I arrived, but the food was honestly mediocre. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and my partner ordered a breakfast burrito. While the wait was short, I was shocked that our total came out to be $27. Not only that, my bagel was unfortunately super flat and on the smaller side. Not a thick and fluffy New York bagel I was expecting. So disappointing, I likely will not be back. read more

Came in on a Sunday mid-morning for a bite. This spot has some seating and a large menu. Service is quick and down to an assembly line science. Here I am posting it again (taken from my Google review where they've undermined people who have left legitimate negative reviews): For the past few years, this place has been great. But having just bought this breakfast burrito, I am appalled by how expensive it was. I understand that the economy has gotten very expensive but this is far above what this burrito is worth. Eggs, bacon, and cheddar cheese and barely 6 inches (as shown in my photo). Spent a total of $15 after tax and tip. $15 for something that just slightly grazes six inches. Do better. EDIT: I admit your bagels are great but that doesn't make you a fine-dining establishment. I stated exactly what I bought and what I paid -- that's not "measuring happiness," that's being an informed customer. Imagine responding to low reviews with the following: "We'll keep making food we're proud of, and let others keep shopping with their tape measures" This one in particular is a response to a guest complaining about a hair in their overpriced burrito: "We'll continue focusing on the guests who enjoy what we do, and let others take their appetites -- and attitudes -- elsewhere." Noticed Rego Bagels- have not been here in a long time. Walked in staff friendly asked what I like. There is so much here from juices, gluten free bagels, cooked items too. My favorite place to order in. First....their mozzarella sticks are life changing!! I'm not sure what makes them so good, but they are so good!! Love that they use Boar's Head meats. They have tons of spread options, every one I've tried is delicious. And I love their different lemonade options. If you like bagel chips get their bags. They're great to have on hand. I usually get a bagel with scallion cream cheese or jalapeno cream cheese and they taste amazing! The cream cheese is so light a fluffy and you can definitely taste the freshness from the bagels. Same with the muffins. I had the pistachio muffin and cappuccino muffin and they made them with yogurt. Fluffy, fresh, flaky and very moist.. not dry and crumble like most muffins. While their food is good most of the time and most employees are nice, they do get your order wrong each and every time, no matter how many times you repeat the order to them and ask to make sure everything is correct! Super impressed by this place! I don't know why I never stopped by here before. When I first entered, I was a little bit alarmed because I could smell something burning, but I think they were just toasting some bagels and the smell subsided quickly. I went in the afternoon, so there weren't many choices of bagels left, but I asked if they had onion, and they did! The onion bagel with lox spread was SO GOOD! Also really loved the cookies. I didn't try the chocolate muffin (that was for my partner), but she really likes the muffins from this place. I'm not sure what those cookies are called, but the base is perfectly crumbly, and the jam filling is sooo delicious. Not too sweet. I'd love to try other bagels from here in the future! One of my favorite bagel spots in Queens, but with a few caveats. I've been going here for almost 10+ years now (even with their change of names and owners over the years). Their bagels are always freshly made in-house and coffee is really great as well. Unfortunately, the prices have really gone up and quality has really gone down. $18 for 3 bagels is pretty insane. The bagels are also pretty thin, occasionally burnt, and barely have any cream cheese. I'm well aware of the shortage but it's pretty unfortunate bc they used to be known for giving big portions of cream cheese. Also, one of the workers has overcharged me or messed up my order at least 3 times now. When I try to nicely ask why I was charged extra or ask to correct the price, she gets super defensive and one time even made me pay for 2 coffees even tho I specifically told her decaf and she messed up the first order. Really sucks to watch this neighborhood gem lose some of the value that brought so many people here in the first place. read more
