I have been a victim of fraudulent and deceptive billing practices by the Regus Management Group. I do not know how to proceed or fight this entity, and I feel like strength in numbers might be the only option. I have spent countless hours and experienced stress dealing with this company. My goal is to hold them accountable for their predatory behavior and prevent other small business owners from enduring the stress that I have. Here are some of my primary complaints: * Unauthorized Mail Forwarding Charges - Nowhere in my agreement is there a mention of mail forwarding, and nowhere did I consent to a $30 mail forwarding charge. When I confronted the office about the unauthorized charges, they responded that the charges 'were not unauthorized' and that they were just 'automatically included'. They credited the charges back, but this happened not once, but several times, even after communicating to the Help Desk that I absolutely did not want any mail forwarding because I don't receive mail there or use the service anyway. * Careless Billing Mistakes - I genuinely believe that Regus makes repeated billing and contractual mistakes with the hopes that they will go unnoticed. They have made so many billing errors I have had to correct that it is difficult to look at my statement and see what is genuinely owed. They have sent contracts with error after error. It took me following up 6 times to have unauthorized charges refunded to my bank account even after the HelpDesk told me it had already been done. * Deceptive Contracts and Billing - There are some things that I accepted as my fault, as shady as Regus is. The whole purpose of renting the virtual office was to use the address for my small business in order to vendor with another organization (I am a speech-language pathologist). After being verbally approved for vendorization, I asked Regus to switch my month-to-month agreement to a 6-month lease. A week after I switched to a 6-month lease, the organization called me back and rescinded my approval because of my Regus business address, claiming that it was not an actual physical location. I accepted at that point that I was stuck in a 6-month lease that would serve me absolutely no purpose whatsoever. I began my 6-month lease in December and was planning to terminate, obviously. When my lease was month-to-month, a 30-day notice was required to terminate the lease of the virtual office. I failed to notice the fine print in the new agreement which states that a 3-month notice is required to terminate any lease longer than 3 months or it will automatically renew. Needless to say, it renewed AND at an increased rate. I received an email on March 1st telling me that my agreement had renewed, and I called them THAT DAY to explain the error. They said there was nothing they could do, even though my current lease didn't even end for another 3 months! I was so angry that I switched locations, which by the way, cost me more to do. During the transfer, they charged me twice at two locations, and then the new location started charging me without my consent for the same types of things. When they transferred me, they put an end date of 10/1/24 on the agreement, and the new location accepted it. When I expressed that I wanted to terminate, they told me my agreement would end on 10/31/24. I explained that I have zero interest in extending, and they said that the current agreement has a typo and that I actually owe through the 31st. There is currently NO agreement signed by me with an end date of October 31st. They refuse to update the termination date, even though the current signed agreement has an end date of October 1st. They said that they will not be able to send me an invoice through October 1st and that if I choose not to pay through the 31st, it will be sent to collections. * Nowhere to File a Complaint - I asked several times for the contact information to file a complaint with the corporate office. They ignored my requests the first several times, and then they told me that my only option is to email the HelpDesk. Initially, I thought that perhaps the corporate office doesn't know these things are happening. However, after reviewing a few court cases and reading 183 1-star reviews on the Better Business Bureau's website, it is clear that this predatory behavior is actually their business model. Major changes need to be made, and I cannot believe that they are able to do these things legally or ethically. read more

DON'T SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM - YOU'LL REGRET IT... I certainly do... I have been a Regus customer, and had even recommended them to others, since 2008, 5 years now. Unfortunately, my company has recently been dissolved, and I have experienced the most awful customer service in trying to have the account closed. I have begun the process of reporting the experience to the BBB, and to the state department of consumer affairs. Bottom line: Their auto renewing contract policy is simply unfair, and perhaps illegal. If you sign up for a monthly service, they require a one year contract, but what they don't really tell you is that unless you notify them within 90 days (3 months!) of the end of that year, they will automatically renew you for another year. Therefore, when you cancel, you have to pay the full contract amount, even if the contract hasn't even started yet! (My contract starts in October, and I tried to cancel in October, and was told I have to wait, and pay for, an entire year before my service can be cancelled.) When I tried to explain to the management of the center that the company they are billing no longer exists, and any attempts they made to collect the charges would come to no avail, I was told that policy is policy and I will be billed and sent to collections if I don't pay. No mention of settling the contract, nothing. Policy is policy. Well, it's not about policy, it's about how you conduct business, and how you treat customers. This is surely evidence that Regus is a dying breed of the kind of 'greed is good,' soulless corporate monster that has preyed on small businesses for decades. Hopefully the increase in corporate transparency that has come about since the advent of the internet will drive Regus out of business, or will apply the pressure necessary to force them to rethink the way they look at customers. read more

I've never felt the need to leave a bad review for a company until now. AVOID THIS PLACE. I can't stress how horrible their customer service is. I wish we could rate lower than a 1. Only good thing about this place was Carmen at the front desk, and they transfered her somewhere else. From refunding your money, to communication before they over bill you, to management, to the front desk.....0 on a scale of 1 to 10. Just horrible. When we originally signed a 3 month (test) lease with them, we thought after 3 months the term would be month to month. It was never explained that they automatically renew your term for another 3 months, if you don't give them a 2 month notice! So you're telling me, in a 3 month lease, I should know if I'm going to leave within the 1st month? Ridiculous. When I tried to get this resolved, management was terrible. I've never felt this under appreciated as a client. I even went as far as calling the district manager, leaving several voicemails and never getting a call back. The worst service I've ever experienced. The front desk is on another level. They must have a requirement for the employee to have a fake personality when they get hired. It's so crazy to think someone like that could get hired as a customer service rep. Nobody besides Carmen was helpful. NOBODY. Like I said, I've never left a bad review...but my experience with this greedy company was so bad that I couldn't keep quiet. Please avoid this place. read more

READ YOUR CONTRACT! And then don't believe it. This is not a "month to month" simple temp office arrangement. They will claim and hold you to a 3 month advance notice of leaving, otherwise automatically renew you for another 90 DAYS !!!. The billing / invoice system was written by NASA.. EVERY month I had to question the invoice, and have it re-written so I could see what they were charging me, and they often had incorrect calculations. Go rent an office from a smaller landlord and not this classic, big corporate behemoth. Otherwise, if you enjoy the smell of food from the lunch area next to the lobbys, lying managers and want to spend more time dealing with Regus than with your business, go for it. I have been leasing space at Regus for my law firm for almost a year. The suite is well maintained, clean, and stylish. There is a nice entry area where my clients can wait as well as a large kitchen with sufficient seating area. The conference rooms are beautiful. Most importantly, the staff is amazing. They are professional, helpful, and address any concerns or needs we have. The offices are nice. Upon signing a new lease, they fully furnished my office. I highly recommend Regus and do consider expanding my space with them in the near future. read more

The managers here are exceptional. You can tell they work hard and do their best to make everyone happy in such a large suite. They greet my clients, answer my phones, handle my mail, and if there is ever an issue they make it a priority. If I need a FedEx to be completed or a fax they do it right away. Carmen is also great; very pleasant and willing to offer help with copies or faxes. This center is in a perfect location for my meetings and the restaurants near by are perfect.
