I drove up from OC to spend a day shopping on the vaunted main street leading to their boardwalk. The shops are reminiscent of Cape Cod. Upscale and unique. Quality garments and one of a kind house decorations and appointments. Far and away some of the most appealing merchandise offerings on any coast.clothing especially. Variety of eating establishments. Higher end menu at that type of pricing. Exceptionally clean. Not as friendly to outsiders as OC Will remind you much of New England. BUT....park at your own risk!!!! Computer operated sites. Confusing and perhaps intentionally so. A revenue source much like a speed trap. My meter didn't print a receipt to place on windshield. Some minutes late or meter reader thought we didnt pay and they issued a 30.00 dollar ticket. No place to pay it. Had to mail or go on line. 75-several hundred dollar increases in daily increments. Shame on city govt!!! They got my 30 and the 300 i spent at stores but not another penny! I wont go where it is inhospitable. Ill stick to OC where you and your family are valued. Yeah its tee shirts and popcorn but thats where your money goes. 30Dollars?????Really Rehobeth???? read more

I visited Rehobth Beach on 5/11/19, Mother's Day weekend. I drove from southern Maryland (2.5 hours away). Upon arriving, there there was a need to use the Restroom only to find out that 2 of the 3 public restrooms were out of Service. Are you kidding me? The restroom on Rehobth ave directed all to go to the Baltimore ave restroom. Ok, now which way is Baltimore ave? There where no signs pointing the direction to Baltimore Ave. Facing the water I walked to the right looking for Baltimore Ave. Mind you, I and a bunch of people were looking for Baltimore Ave since none of us had a clue where it was. Employees were asked which way is Baltimore Ave? I did better by myself. I finally asked the Staff at Grota's pizza could I use their restroom after 2 request I was allowed to do so. I can't believe although it is true that other establishments had a nerve to post signs that only customers could use their restrooms. Well every person on that beach front were a Customer. As a Senior Citizen I can't believe the rudeness that was given to myself and the other thousand or so customers that went in search to satisfy and a human need. Someone failed the Public in a bad way. Why didnt someone consider the use of Porta-poties during this shut down of the Public restrooms and that the money making facilities make their restrooms available to the public as a measure of goodwill. Where was the Compassion, Consideration and Common sense for this situation? I hope that this matter is addressed immediately and an apology be made to the public. Where were we to go and Pee since most of us did not know which to go for Baltimore Ave. Thank you Grota for your thoughtfulness and consideration. Shame on the responsible individuals who dropped the ball on this one. read more

"Rehoboth Lifestyle" store -- 1 star · Just came back from Rehoboth and writing this review as promised... , not about clothing but about the manager of the store. I was shopping in this store on the last day of my stay in Rehoboth and the experience was unusually negative. The individual with whom I was dealing, said she was the manager). I have to say that this person surely lacks professionalism and would benefit in some sort of training or class in the customer service. This manager harming the reputation of the store by being plain rude: arguing with a customer and doing so in front of others at the store. Very disrespectful. What a shame.. read more

Apparently The police officers in Rehoboth Beach are not familiar with service dogs and The Americans with Disabilities Act. I suggest they get some further education and knowledge on how to treat people with service dogs and to do a bit more reading and training before they get rude and aggressive. I've been going to Rehoboth beach for about 5 years. It's an average to nice beach. Lewes nearby is a nice town with some good dining options. It's been enough to keep me returning through the years, although it's mostly because we procrastinate on vacation planning and end up finding availability only at Rehoboth (vs NJ beaches). This year I paid for parking and regardless got a ticket for not 'head-in' parking - the signage was confusing and I don't think the offense was in any way commensurate with the $100 fine. I find it obscene that a city that relies so heavily on the support of its visitors who contribute regularly to its local business manages to exploit the very people that prop up its economy time and again with fines like this. On my own review it looks like Rehoboth far and away exceeds the number of parking citations compared with nearby beaches and generates a revenue of close to $700K seasonally in parking tickets of this sort. I recognize this is probably the case in plenty of cities around the country, and that this review is in part fueled by my own indignation and frank astonishment, but I feel it needs to be exposed in some way. I will not return to this beach or town. read more

We visited Rehoboth Beach in early April 2017. It was too cold to go into the water, but we had fun walking on the beach, as well as the boardwalk. I'll separately review the boardwalk, but the beach itself was clean and lovely. I've heard that Ocean City, MD (about an hour away) gets quite crowded, and that Dewey Beach (which we also visited, and which is located about 30 minutes from here) can get rowdy with its college vibe, but that Rehoboth Beach is more family-oriented. We both really enjoyed the beach, the boardwalk running along it, and the places we visited nearby. Parking is convenient as well (there are lots at the end of the boardwalk). I would certainly love to visit Rehoboth Beach again in the future, especially when the weather is warmer than when we visited. read more

If you live in the Washington, D.C. metro area sooner or later you will drive to "the shore." The local seashore, abutting the Atlantic ocean between the mouth of the Delaware River and the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, is known as the "DelMarVa Peninsula because it includes pieces of Delaware in the North, Maryland in the Center and Virginia in the South. Each state has at least one beach resort area. The Delaware beach resort area centers around Rehoboth Beach. This is a family oriented public beach with a small walking area of perhaps 40 square blocks or so. Parking can be a bear, in season. We were lucky on July16th 2014 in that we found a metered space about one block in from the boardwalk (more on the boardwalk later). Parking is $1.50 per hour and if you do not have quarters, for a small service charge ($0.50), you can pay for parking using a cell phone. NOTE: I did this for the first time on July 16th. It is somewhat nerve wracking because you get NO receipt and the meter still blinks on "expired." IF you pay this way, I urge you stay with your vehicle for maybe 15 minutes and to find the local parking enforcement person (as I did). Ask him or her to check the computer for your license plate number. Until your tag number is in their computer, you CAN get a ticket! Within the walking area, Rehoboth Beach offers a number of very good to excellent restaurants. A few walking alleys. And a bunch of souvenir and jewelry stores. In addition to all of this, Rehoboth Beach is home to Thrasher's French Fries. In my ever-so-humble® opinion, the BEST french fries in the world! Rehoboth Beach has a boardwalk that is populated with shops and amusements for a half mile or so. The walk, itself, has been extended and lighted for what looked like a couple of miles. Shops range from high end jewelry, to beach schlock (shovels, t-shirts, hermit crabs, etc.). Amusements include my favorites skeeball and whack-a-mole (both for prizes) and bumper cars and other rides. The beach, itself, is protected with life guards (in season) and is immaculately clean for a public beach. I should warn ... I don't know what time of year the local delicacy blue crabs have their eggs hatch, but I have been in the water and felt an "itching." Looking down on my chest, I saw many tiny pairs of eyes looking back at me. These "sea lice" are the infant form of blue crabs. NOT related to pthirus pubis or any other kind of human louse. There is a bandstand at the end of Rehoboth Avenue where free concerts are given! Rehoboth Beach is a great place to bring your family and spend a day. read more

8 years ago my boyfriend at the time took me here for an experience i'll never forget. I just got my hair done (i had a perm at the time so sista's you know how i was feeling about any kind of water situation). But honey wanted to hit up the beach, and I was pretty excited. I just resolved I wasn't going to get wet! I was gonna do the cute chic thing and sashay up and down the shoreline! Well to make a long story short i got wet. :p Fast forward to now. We are married, have 4 beautiful children and it was high time for a family vacation to a beach. Rehobeth was so great to us. We went during the week. We got a font parking space. The parking meters are the smart ones that you can pay using a phone app. They give you about 3 hours. Then I suggest you just get change and pay the old school way to keep your spot. We had a cautious ball! I never imagined how freaked out I would be with the kids admits the waves. Mini heart attacks! What was funny was suddenly all the lifeguards began to signal for everyone to get out. After about 5 minutes we could finally surmise that they were leaving. Oh!? Ok. Mind you it was about 4pm. Do you know just about everyone on the beach left too!??? I'm looking like, do they know something we don't know? We hung out for a bit longer. Enjoyed the bikini scenery ;) And i'd like to make this moment to send out a notice. Hey Guys, women need eye candy too. Can't some of y'all get it together so we can have fun checking you out too? I am handicapped and have handicapped plates. We parked in a handicapped parking spot. No time limit posted. Was there for less than 2 hours and was fined $40.00 for overtime parking. I filed an appeal. Stated from ADA that if there is a restricted time on some handicapped spots, it must be posted and cannot be less than 4 hours. We lost the appeal, no explanation. What a rip off city. Nice to ride on the backs of senior citizens trying to get by on social security disability! They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

This is such a nice beach, the water is cooler here, but they keep this beach clean, even the public restrooms are kept clean, although it rained majority of our vacation we still managed to have a great time, plenty of restaurant choices, snacks and ice cream, The kids loved the rides and games at Funland, they have a nice outlet mall, and a little drive to Nassau valley vineyards which $5 gets you 5 wine tastings and you keep your wine glass! This is a perfect beach to visit in May, August or September (May was not packed and we could enjoy our vacation) It's a perfect little beach to visit if you don't want your typical busy packed beach vacation. read more

Do not even attempt to go to this beach. Finding parking is impossible. What's worse is that the majority of meters have a 30 minute limit! On my last visit, I had to turn around and go home after looking for parking for 45 minutes. My suggestion - just don't come here. read more

I've been coming to RB for over 30 yrs (since I was a kid). Still think it has a lot to offer-clean, family friendly beaches, great restaurants, fun boardwalk. However, the GLBT crowd has really started to take over the place to the point you have to think twice about taking kids there. read more

We came for the day and had no issues. The beach was clean, and we even got to see some dolphins swimming not too far from the shore. There were "Umbrella Girls" set-up along the beach to set up umbrellas and chairs for you, and sell snacks. I rented an umbrella for $12 and it was well worth it. It was a very windy, very HOT day and I'm not one to retreat from the sun, but mid-vacation I needed it. THe water is a great temperature, but it's very rocky. Although Bethany Beach is a lot more populated and might have more people you know, Rehoboth has a much better boardwalk than Bethany. The Rehoboth boardwalk is really entertaining. They have a lot of adorable shops, games and one of a kind quick food stops! Rehoboth Beach provides other wonderful places to go. You can go shopping, to funland, or even a show! Funland: full of games and rides, and it's a great place to go after dinner in town. Also, in Rehoboth just off Route 1, a fabulous water park called Jungle Jims is really fun, they have a lazy river and many other rides. At the Midway movie theater they provide the newest movies, freshest popcorn, and frostiest drinks. They always have the latest movies and have best sound of almost any theater I have been to. Rehoboth has many delicious restaurants. They range from a great breakfast spot to an excellent dinner. One great breakfast place is the Fractured Prune. It's a stop in, hand dipped, donut shop that has over twenty flavors with toppings. It's reasonably priced, a half dozen is $6.00 and a dozen is $11.00. The donuts, eye widening, mouthwatering, and lip licking. An amazing lunch spot is Louie's. They sell pizza but are known for their subs. Two sizes, 6in and 12in. The prices range from $5-$12 depending on what size sub and the toppings. For dinner Big Fish or Zebra are delicious spots. Big fish serves many different sea food entrees: herb crusted salmon with 2 sides or lobster, mashed potatoes and caramelized onions. The restaurant is always busy and somewhat noisy but the food is out of this world and the prices are extremely reasonable, usually ranging from about $10-25 an entree. At Zebra, the pasta is creamy and the pizza is freshly made. From fettuccini alfredo to linguini with clams, they have everything. Being pretty pricey from $20-50 an entree, Zebras dishes are well worth the cost. Rehoboth offers many hotels and motels where you can. You can find anything from on the beach to further into town. One hotel on the beach is the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel. It has many amenities such as a pool, fitness room, and towel service. Its rates are reasonable for two people its $254.00 a night when you're overlooking the water. A motel further away from town is the Sandcastle Motel. The average price is just $55 a night. Some amenities are an indoor pool, sauna and mini bar. So as you can see, Rehoboth Beach, DE is a wonderful to have a beautiful, meaningful and delightful vacation! read more

Most relaxing beach ever! It's never too crowded, it's not too big, and there's still plenty of stuff to do. They have games, rides, shops, and some of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. (I recomend the Tuscan for Italian food, its reasonable and the pasta is AwEsOmE) read more

It's in such a convenient spot! Right after you're done doing the rides with the kids, you can go relax and let the kids go into the water! Great family spot! I only gave it 4 stars, because it is insanely crowded at times, that it is miserable to be there, (for example, extremely long lines, yelling kids and crying babies, etc.,). They have all the food you need down there! Cotton candy, pizza, ice cream, and much more! Many cool restaurants and shops around there too. Everyone is very nice there, too!
