REI has really gone downhill. Both their products and their service. I had a terrible experience at this REI location. The staff collectively assaulted and harassed me verbally for being a service dog user, and for criticizing the decline of REI. It's a leftwing business, which means that the "feelings" of the employees outweigh any and every other consideration. In fact, I asked for contact info to make a complaint, and while one employee was writing it down, another employee came along and tore up the paper! I purchased gift cards for my husband for his birthday to use towards new boots, bindings and skis for our yearly six-week trip to the ADK's to visit family during the holidays. We worked with two gentlemen during our time at REI, both were fantastic. I wanted to share a specific shout-out to Nieve. Nieve spent substantial time with us to ensure that Paul was in the perfect boot, binding and the right ski for his level. Paul is an exceptional skier, who now lives in the Midwest with me, his average skier wife, after growing up in the ADK's and skiing every winter day of his life, when weather permitted, for 20 years. Nieve also fitted me for boats, bindings and skis too, for good measure, so I can ski with my husband and not be bothered with rentals. Nieve, thank you - you were a joy to work with and my mountain husband, who begrudgingly lives 9-months per year in the Midwest, is now a happy camper again. The Scaps. read more

Disgusted with their customer service. we drove over from NY to make some big camping purchases. We asked for some assistance and waited 20 minutes for an employee to help. The employee was RUDE and he had an attitude. My family and I left the store and will never shop there again. I do not recommend this store. read more

Not this location per se, but REI in general : Purchased at full price 12/4/21 a winter ski jacket for my daughter (adult size- adult price) after her wearing the jacket less than 15 times the zipper broke and cannot be fixed. The jacket is useless. 12/27/22 I attempted to try to exchange the jacket and was sent away "there's nothing they can do" because I am outside the 1 year mark of warranty. I would not recommend REI brand of clothing to anyone, and given that there are so many other options in the area for good outdoors gear I cannot find any reason to shop REI- Members since early 2000's and I won't shop there again. read more

5 stars for MB at the shoe department at this REI! I came for my first pair of hiking boots and didn't know what size, fit, or type of shoe I needed. She was so sweet and kind and caring and HELPFUL!! She took quick measurements of my feet, explained everything to me, and did the "hike test" with me. I told her I wanted to take some time to think about the purchase (I wanted to read online reviews of the product since it was an investment) and she was EXCITED for me!!! She was telling me of all the colors online - literally was no pressure or embarrassment for taking up all of her time just to say that to her and not purchase right away. I love the reviews online, and will be back to this REI to buy my hiking boots because of MB! read more

The store and staff were 5 stars all the way during the grand opening. Since then however they seem to not be ready to be open. I have visited two days on a row for an item that shows in stock at the store. They first time I was told they had 16 pallets to stock from a day and a half earlier. They told me another local business might have them in stock. The second day I was told they have 20 pallets to stock, including the ones prior I assume as the item was still not stocked on the shelf. I really would like to be able to trust this store to have in stock what it shows online. I realize this is a new store however the work went into running at 100% opening weekend, why not make that commitment to service an ongoing standard. This was a good reminder as to why I have shifted to predominantly shopping online. read more

Bought Oboz Sawtooth shoes online from REI, and they didn't fit. Went to the store, and they had a "newer version" of the very same shoe. They chose not to exchange for the properly fitting shoe, as they were more concerned with a few dollars difference. The "dollar" was more important than maintaining a customer (and member) for life. Exchanges are part of retail. It helps make customers feel valued. REI chose the short-term solution, rather than thinking about my long-term willingness to spend my money with them. First things first, the low star reviews for this place are inaccurate and/or deceptive. That's an easy thing to decipher. I had to throw this in because inaccurate/irrelevant reviews/complaints are a huge pet peeve of mine. Go check the reviews on google for better insight. Second, this is a wonderful store. I went to the store for a specific item my son wanted for Christmas. They were very helpful and assisted me to find it. They told me that the next day a sale was starting where any purchase over $100 would give me a $20 gift card/credit for the store. I decided to come back the next day and had them hold the item for me, which they did. I went back the next evening and purchased another item along with the item on hold (which was well over the $100 sale needed for the $20 gift card). The cashier in training went through how to become a member, which I wasn't interested in becoming at the time. When I mentioned the sale at checkout the cashier looked through the sale flyer, left to ask someone about it and came back to ring me out, saying nothing about the sale. When I asked again she said that the sale was for members (so she was going to blow me off instead of give me an answer she knew I didn't want - bad). WHAT? No one mentioned I had to be a member the day before, it was never even mentioned that it was a "membership" store. I pressed the issue only to be told that the people helping me the night before must have assumed I was a member. I would have just purchased the item the first time and not spent the time and money to go back again the following day. No trying to make it right for me. You'd think they might have said in lieu of the $20 gift card they would give me the $20 "membership" so maybe I'd be back and everyone would be happy. Nope. I'm done there. read more
