Our family is renting skis for our second year at Alpine Shop. Our experience with the business this year has been difficult: communication and general service has been poor. Staff seem to be working very hard but it seems that "leaders" at the store have left people with poor resources and little training. We will be renting somewhere else next year. read more

I was in the Alpine Shop recently and had an amazing interaction . While asking one of the employees about what they recommend for heated ski boot systems( i have Raynaud's disease). Fisher said he strongly recommended the Hotronics xlp one heated ski sock. Just got a chance to use them today while skiing @okemo. Absolutely fantastic. Feet were warm and happy all day. I set up a reservation to come in for a snowboard rental package. I filled out the online form regarding size, height etc. But when I arrived they told me they didn't have anything in my size. It's frustrating the disconnect from the online form to them. Like couldn't they tell me beforehand when I made the reservation instead of making me travel all the way there for them to tell me they don't have anything. read more

If you want to be sent damaged goods, scammed out of $300, treated horribly by their customer service rep and ignored by the owner then I encourage you to always shop with Alpine. I ordered a Patagonia jacket online as a Christmas gift, but decided to return for a different color. The jacket was never worn; however, Alpine claimed that it smelled of perfume and had holes in it. I repeatedly told them it had never been worn and that perfume was impossible because it was in a place that had no perfume. Their customer service rep was belligerent and refused to return my calls. When I tried to escalate it to the owner he refused to hear my case or talk to me and sent the jacket back without a refund. Thankfully I payed through PayPal and I filed a claim through them. I refused the package when the jacket was sent back and PayPal dealt with Alpine and completely refunded my order. read more

A few weeks ago I bought snow board bindings from this shop. I am from out of the state, and I needed them for my trip to QC. Initially, there was a bit of a misunderstanding, however when I went back to exchange them, we came across Jordan. She not only showed Top Notch customer service, but went above and beyond to rectify the error. Mistakes happen, but there is nothing worse than a business that can't deliver on customer service. With that being said, I like to give credit when it's due. Jordan solved the problem quickly, and was incredibly helpful throughout the process. For that reason alone, I will always have Alpine in mind for my VT snowboarding trips. People like Jordan, need to be in charge of Customer service and or train new employees. I ordered a pair of skis a few months back for an amazing deal online and had them shipped to Utah. I brought them into a local shop to mount bindings and they ended up being super incompetent. I called Alpine online support and got so much help. They helped me confirm that the local shop I brought my skis to in Utah had zero technical skills on how to mount bindings. They always have what I'm looking for, give great advice, and are always prompt to help me. They also have excellent deals and though they're not *cheap* (because sports gear is not cheap), I never walk away feeling like I could have gotten a better deal online. During busy season, the line at the ski service shop can be a bit of a cluster (they should probably staff it more heavily - especially on weekends!!), but they do try their best to be helpful and thorough. Consequently I have dropped quite a bit of coin here and am a happy and frequent repeat customer. read more

If you need skis or boots, and you are an experienced OR brand new skier, this is the place to go. The ski staff fitted me wonderfully for boots and skis, and when I needed some adjustments later they were incredibly patient and helpful. I never felt pressured to go for the most expensive items or skis that wrong for me, and I feel welcome to go back for help if I ever have an issue, which is the most important thing for me. And yes, good skis and boots are costly but very much worth it. read more

Rude! In today's day of the Internet, where I can purchase skis for great discounts online, it is surprising to me that the Alpine Shop does not offer good customer service. Here is my last visit: Since I had an injury, I asked the service person if he could carry my skis downstairs for me. He responded with reluctance and he harrumphed twice when carrying the skis for the short distance. He then went over my account and verified my address etc. - I have a long history of purchases at the Alpine Shop. For my $19 purchase that day, he asked me to use my credit card and then he asked for a picture ID. I gave him my license and he held the ID right next to my head and made a comment about removing my sunglasses! I did NOT remove my sunglasses. His behavior was very invasive and creepy and all of this for a purchase less than $20.00! He had my skis - did he really think I'd try to steal 19 dollars??! There are so many great shops in the Burlington area and there's the Internet. Alpine Shop never again. read more
