We were more than pleased with the quality of their work. Now we have had items dry cleaned and pressed, with good results each time. Submitted a Carhatt WIP jacket for dry cleaning for coffee stains. They cleared those out but the problem is at the store, the garment got more NEW yellow stains that was not there originally. I re-submitted it again for a second cleansing but once I received the garment, they said it cannot be done. My garment is damaged permanently just by trusting here. read more

Well i guess business is bad but service at reids has really gone down hill. I have been a customer since the 90s but they will not do an alteration in less than two weeks. Apparently their seamstress left. Super rude too, said another reids location might be able to help but refused to call. Go somewhere else - jack browns said they could do this by Friday. Left a dress to be cleaned. When I came back to pick it up, the owner said they tried but could not get the dress clean. I was charged $25.00 for an item that wasn't cleaned. I'll never go there again. The two elderly brothers have overcharged me previously and this is the last time. Terrible ethics. Reid's has coupons that are cheaper than Jack Brown. They do decent cleaning. So, why the 2 star review? Simple. I expect one thing when I come to a dry cleaner. Namely, I should get the same amount of clothes back that I dropped off. Sadly, Reid's had trouble with that basic concept today. I dropped off my clothes on Tuesday afternoon. First, I was asked if Thursday was ok for getting my clothes back. Needless to say, that question surprised me, especially considering that Reid's advertises same day service if dropped off in the morning. I did manage to get them to agree to have the clothes ready on Wednesday afternoon. However, when I got there, they couldn't find my dry cleaning. They found my laundered shirts. But they claimed the dry cleaning had never been tagged. After quite a while of searching, the apologetic employee found my suit, but still couldn't find the khaki pants. Eventually, the employee returned and told me that the pants were being kept because their team was still working on removing a stain. The lack of communication between the customer service staff and the cleaning staff is concerning. More concerning is the absolute lack of accountability on keeping track of the clothes entrusted to their care. read more

I am always so happy with the service at Reid's cleaners. From the wonderful young women that work at the front desk who are always so kind and friendly to the excellent job that they do on our clothing. The prices are reasonable and they give out five dollar off coupons periodically, which make it an even better deal. They do an excellent job on my husband's expensive shirts and suits and I also trust them with any of my formalwear. They do an excellent job with my clothing and the service can't be beat. read more

Best move they could've made hiring this new manager. Friendly and eager to please customers. I will definitely be back to this location because of their management. They cost $3.39 to dry clean dresses at Rick's Cleaners. My total bill would have been $31.12 plus tax at Rick's Cleaners. I've called Dawn multiple times left voicemails with my phone number to call me back and still haven't got a call back. Literally all I am trying to do is get my W2. I took my white trench coat had some stains on it so I took it in for cleaning. The guy at the counter was helpful, and the price was around $13, which for a coat, seemed reasonable. It was ready the next day. I went to put the coat on a few days later before work and noticed that several of the belt loops had been partially ripped off and there was some other tread fraying. On my way to work I took it in and showed them what happened. They apologized and said they'd take care of the repairs at no charge. When I went to pick it up again, my coat looked good-as-new. While of course I wish the damage hadn't been done, they took responsibility for it and made it right. I tend to avoid buying items that require dry cleaning, but for the few pieces that I do have, I'll still use this place. read more

I haven't had anything laundered or dry cleaned here, as I wanted only alterations to 2 pairs of clean pants. Counter service was friendly. The work done on my pants was done within a reasonable time frame, and I am happy with the work. However, the alterations were not only more than they counter guy said they would be (more than double the cost), but they are more expensive than any alterations I have ever had done (and I'm from California). Perhaps if I had consulted with the person that actually does the alterations this wouldn't have been an issue. It is a shame because I like the work, but I just can't see paying that much for such a basic repair. read more

I've been giving this location of Reid's Cleaners my large amount of dry clean and laundering business for about a year or 2 now. As far as I can tell, they consistently provide the best quality of service in town. Please hit me up if you know of another place in the general vicinity (within a few miles even) that does better work consistently. Here are some examples of things that have impressed me over the time I've been using them: 1. They don't burn my shirt buttons. - I have my dress shirts laundered and pressed here because I despise ironing. Some places I've taken shirts to in the past for some reason use too much heat and end up destroying buttons on your favorite shirt. This is not acceptable by any standard, especially on particularly nice shirts. I've never had this happen at Reid's in the time I've been sending my clothes there. 2. They catch my mistakes. - I once left a very special pair of cuff links in the pockets of some slacks that I brought in. I didn't even realize it until I got them back with a nice paper bag attached to them with my cuff links. I would have been very sad had I lost those, so they definitely get a mark for that one. 3. Very friendly people. - The folks here have always been extremely friendly to me, which makes a difference. So what's keeping Reid's Cleaners from getting a full 5 stars? They are definitely the most expensive dry cleaner I've used outside of a hotel. I don't really care so much because not having my clothes destroyed is worth an extra dollar here and there, but they are noticeably more expensive than other places in town. I'll keep coming here indefinitely unless one of you sexy yelpers can find me a better place :) read more

Sad. I've been a customer for more than 15 years but no more. So many mistakes with the afternoon and weekend staff. Spoke about these errors directly with the owner Michael Reid. He assured me of specific steps he would take to win my business back and did not implement these. I'm not doing business with a person who won't keep his word. So many other dry cleaning options. Wondering why I drove out of my way all these years but the two ladies who run the place Mon through Friday mornings are my ties to this business: Adalia and Celine. They are superstars and their loyalty and the value they place on customers should be rewarded. These women should train the other staffers. read more

About three months ago, I tried Reid's for the first time. I took an expensive, white, nearly-new, over-sized blouse. It came back ripped vertically down the back. I have been trying to get it resolved ever since. Three weeks ago, I was told they would send a check and got my address. Nothing. Took two sets of graduation cap and gown to Reid's. Told me $18.50+tax per gown. Ended up charging me $30.50+tax per gown. While I was in the store, the counter clerk and I went through the gown. It is a three-piece gown, gown+hood+cap. She gave me back the cap, saying they cannot do the cap. She accepted the other pieces. I specifically asked how much is the price. Two girls in the store told me $18.50/gown. Fast forward to pickup. The cost was $60-something. What about the $18.50 price tag they told me? Oh, that's because the hood costs extra, $12/hood. $12/hood? Why cannot you tell me hood is not included in your $18.50 price tag? It is not about the money. It is about honesty and being upfront. The clerk and I went through all the pieces together, I inquired about price. What they did not tell me was they were gonna count 4 items rather than 2. I gave them too much credit for not checking my ticket carefully. So, I guess this must be my fault, cannot possibly be their fault, right? read more

A year ago Reid's Dry Cleaners in Northwest Hills offered to pick up and deliver dry cleaning for residents of an assisted living facility nearby at no extra charge. Initially the charge for shirts and slacks were $3.50 and $3.75. About a month ago I noticed the charges on my credit card doubled. Reid's got their foot in the door and then quietly doubled their prices without any notification. Disappointed Reid's pulled a fast one on elderly people with fixed incomes. read more

Be prepared to be given the third degree if you bring in a coupon for $2.19 shirts even if it is within the expiration date and you have dry cleaning. Check your ticket to be sure they write the correct price on it, and check again when they ring you up on pickup - it happens every single time, which makes it seem like a concerted effort on the part of staff to not honor their coupons. read more

I just started going to Reid's this week and have been pretty pleased so far! The reason I switched to them in the first place is because of their quick turn around time (I dropped off around 2pm on a Friday and picked up at 9am on Saturday). When I walked in, I was pleasantly greeted by a smiling staff and was taken care of promptly. My only gripe is that my shirts were supposed to be heavily starched and weren't nearly as stiff as they used to be when I used to take them to American Cleaners. I went to Reid's because my friend recommended it and said they did a pretty good job. I took in three nice long-sleeved oxfords (about $90 a shirt). The people were VERY nice and the bill was only about $8. Downside? The shirts are now completely unwearable. In addition to being completely overstarched and still fairly wrinkled, each shirt was just plain ruined. One shirt had two very noticeable black marks across the front of it. Another shirt had a quarter sized hole right by the elbow and a shattered button. The last shirt had a palm sized white mark across the back of the shirt. When I had noticed these flaws, I was surprisingly shocked to not receive a refund. Their reasoning? They were very adamant (although still polite) that I had brought in these shirts damaged. Trust me, I wouldn't have even bothered taking such ruined shirts to the cleaners. I understand that sometimes accidents happen, but this accident cost me about $270 worth of clothing. I just can't afford that. Needless to say, I would not recommend this place, especially if you are very partial to whatever garment you're taking in. read more

Do not use Reid's! I took my leather jacket in and it was sent off to Sims Leather Cleaners in Sugarland, TX. When I went to pick it up it had stains on it and was completely ruined. It looked like they through it in a washer! The leather does not look the same and worse, it is strechted along the back side and hangs....it is awful. The manager, Albert, even told me that they do a bad job and have had to pay out and they continue to use these people! Do not use them. They refuse to pay me for the jacket and simply say, well, you signed and so if its ruined....too bad! That is awful service. read more

As I walked in at 7:01 tonight and there was one woman in front of me. Both employees looked at me and said that they were closed. The woman in front of me said 'sorry, they opened just for me' (so they were still open) and then I was told but neither of the computers weren't working. One was obviously working because she was being checked out. Apparently I am less important of a customer than she is. If your doors are open you should still continue to serve people. If you're closed then lock them. There are hundreds of drycleaners in Austin and I'm sure many of them will make me feel like a much more important customer then you did tonight. After years and years of using Reid's, I will be using one of them in the future instead. read more
