Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware. We recently submitted a significant order of clothing to Jack Brown Cleaners (Mesa Drive) and were disappointed to find several items returned with concealed damage. Additionally, multiple pairs of pants were not pressed with a crease down the center as specifically requested at drop-off. An ornate button was also broken during the cleaning of a jacket. When we raised these concerns, Gunner, the district manager, declined responsibility for any of the damage, stating that such incidents are common during the cleaning process. This has not been our prior experience with Jack Brown Cleaners or other cleaning service providers. Gunner attributed the punctured holes in the sweaters to "moth damage." However, we have not encountered moths in our home in over 24 years of residence, and we maintain a regular contract with Terminix for pest control. Furthermore, a blouse made of an entirely different material was similarly damaged, and a staff member from Jack Brown indicated this did not appear to be moth damage. Several sweaters reportedly suffered "moth damage," yet others did not, which calls into question the explanation provided. To date, no other cleaner has suggested moths as the source of damage, and we have found no evidence of moths in our home. We asked Gunner for his last name and the name of the president of Jack Brown Cleaners; both requests were declined, and we were directed to look up this information up on our own on the internet. We subsequently identified Paul A. Brown (President) and Stevie Brown (Owner-Manager) as the top executives. While Jack Brown Cleaners had no issues accepting payment upon receiving our clothing, they did not inform us at any point about snags, puncture holes, or a broken button discovered after cleaning. On select items they could not clean further, labels were added explaining additional cleaning would risk further damage - a transparent and reasonable practice. However, It's very concerning that we discovered the damage ourselves after their cleaning, without any communication from Jack Brown staff or management. We are left to wonder if the expectation were that such damage would go unnoticed for some time. The assertion that invisible holes expanded during cleaning is implausible and appears to be blatantly dishonest. Having been a loyal customers of Jack Brown Cleaners for over 20 years, we found the manner in which our concerns were addressed to be unsatisfactory and unprofessional. Our selection of Jack Brown was based on previous positive experiences, making this situation particularly disappointing. We intend to contact Paul A. Brown and Stevie Brown to address these concerns, confident that they would not wish their brand's reputation to be affected by unresolved customer issues. Throughout our interaction, we did not feel our concerns were treated with empathy or understanding. It is also worth noting that Jack Brown Cleaners (Mesa) currently holds a 1.8 Yelp rating. Regrettably, we did not review similar customer complaints prior to utilizing their services. We will pursue this matter further until a reasonable resolution is achieved, as we believe it is unacceptable for any business to return damaged clothing without taking responsibility. read more

I bring all my important dry cleaning here because I know it will be done right.  I've never been disappointed in the quality of cleaning my clothes and blankets that have been returned to me. When things are ready, the text notification they send is great! Not only am I informed about readiness, but I am also reminded of what I will be paying. Also, the gentleman behind the counter has always been easy to work with. One time he explained important things about a particular item to help me understand potential outcomes. They have a great email list that informs of monthly specials. I highly recommend signing up. I believe this is a good Jack Brown location. read more

Chronic broken buttons. Repairs are done poorly or just not done at all (realized several weeks after having seams repaired in a pair of dress shorts that they kept the garment for a couple weeks but just never did it). After 3 years and countless incidents, we will find another provider. read more

After having used the neighborhood location of Comet/Star-Brite which finally closed, I had a pile of pants to be dry cleaned. And truth be told, there aren't a ton of dry cleaning options in the neighborhood. At least with Jack Brown, I know there's some levels of management I can go to if something goes wrong. Here's the huge negative. They're not cheap -- even with coupons. (FYI, this location runs Tuesday specials that are the same price as the coupons.) But the service is friendly and pleasant. My clothes look great. And they're pretty tech savvy. I got an email and a text notifying me when my clothes came back to the store for pickup. And unlike previous dry-cleaning experiences, there was no hassle or production about finding my clothes on the rack. And later this evening, I got an email thanking me for my business. Yes, they're expensive. But so far, they're worth it. read more

So I brought in my husband's shirts to get laundered in a Tuesday afternoon around 3 pm & I asked the attendant if they would be ready by 9 am Wednesday morning & she said yes. It's 9:30 & I'm sitting here outside in the parking lot waiting for my husband's shirts to come after walking in at 9 am thinking they were going to be ready! I'm livid. I decided to drop my clothes of here IN CONFIDENCE that his shirts would be ready. My husband leaves for work by 9:45 & I brought the majority of his shirts in because I figured this place would have them done by the time they promised! WELL THEY DIDNT! I live 1 mile from this business & it's supposed to be convenient & it's not! I would have had better luck going across town getting them done somewhere else and ON TIME!!! Never again! Don't rely on this business it's not worth the headache !!!! read more

I can't believe I come here for years and for what? The store closes at 7 and I arrived a few minutes before finding the door locked. The store attendant talking away on her cell phone inside. I knock and she proceeds to tell me that it's past 7 and she is closed. Even though both her and my phone show its not 7 yet. Thanks for being lazy and non existent customer service. read more

Do not go here unless you want your clothing ruined! I dropped off 31 pieces of dry cleaning. I said do not use pins to hang my dresses or skirts because the pins leave big holes in the material. They said "oh no, we never use pins." I get my clothing back and ALL of my skirts, dresses and many tops are hung using BIG pins. Not small pins, BIG, HUGE pins that leave big holes in the fabric. Thats my biggest complaint. My second complaint is with their LIES. if a customer asks if you use pins to hang clothing and you say NO, knowing full well that customer's clothing will come back to her with pins in them thats completely dishonest. They should have told me the truth, so I could find ANOTHER dry cleaner that did NOTuse pins. I filed a complaint with the BBB, because I want it on record that this company does not have honest business practices. Plus, anyone who doesn't want pins ruining their clothing will find another cleaner. FYI - Reid cleaners uses pins as well. read more

Heed our warnings: DO NOT HAVE YOUR CLOTHES DRY CLEANED HERE. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. I am so regretful that I didn't come across the two prior reviews until it was too late. I took several pieces of clothing to be cleaned here. One of which, *were* one-of-a-kind, vintage, cream, silk, LONG wide leg trousers. Not only were they unique and expensive, Ialso had them tailored to my exact height when wearing heels. I got them back only to discover, one, a huge severe crease I did not request. But more importantly: THEY HAD SHRUNK AT LEAST FOUR INCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My beautiful trousers were now board shorts! They are irreplaceable. It looks like they somehow cut off bottom and re-did the hem. I am only 5'2", and for them to be short on me in bare feet-- might as well be children's wear. The manager apologized but offered little as far a solution. I don't know if all Jack Brown's are like this, but please at least use a different location! read more

Firstly they gave me someone else's pants back in my collection which was only 4 pairs of pants. 25% error rate. Next I took in my duvet to be cleaned, they said 1 week..... Yes 1 week, not sure where they shipped it off to but that seems excessive. We go back on the day we were told and they said the cleaner was backed up and no idea of when it would be ready. They promised a call to me when ready. No call 2 more days later so I call them and guess what, my duvet is sat there waiting. No apology or compensation to help keep me as a customer after their problems. I think I am over this place, they clearly don't care. read more

Friendly people at counter. That's the high point. Bottom line is for simple skirts, simple slacks, or laundered shirts, they are average and price is probably about the same as anywhere else. But twice this week I've had two bad experiences. I just returned a Ferragamo scarf to be correctly pressed- it had been pressed with a knifelike crease down the middle. First time I've EVER had a scarf creased. Hoping it comes out. Last week, I picked up a drycleaned tie which cost a total of $6.17, excessive by any measure (and more than the aforementioned scarf), but that may have resulted because originally I was charged for two skirts (although there was clearly a tie and skirt) and this may have been poor math giving me a refund. Tie is somewhat unevenly pressed. I am learning that close to home is not always best. The crease on a high end scarf indicates a failure of proper training to the person who did it. Folks, there is a lot of competition for dry cleaning dollars out there and these were both preventable errors. read more
