While visiting Ft Smith we were told of a great place to get barbecue. ~50 minutes from where we were staying was Reid's BBQ. Initially we were going to postpone to Sunday since we spent the day sightseeing however, they are not opened on Sunday. We made the drive but sadly they were already out of Ribs & Pulled Pork. We had a great server (Kaylie) and she did an awesome job in getting us to sample what was available. We ordered two Steve's Sampler which gave us plenty of options. The presentation was very good. On one platter we had Smoked Turkey & Burnt Ends,Mac n Cheese, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad. On the other tray we had Baked Beans, Okra, Regular Fries & Cajun Fries, Brisket, 2 types of Sausage and what was remaining of the pulled pork. All of which were very good. We had the Fried Pies for dessert but we only ordered 2 to share. Highly recommend the Pecan Pie w/Vanilla Ice Cream. The second Fried Pie was Blackberry w/Vanilla Ice Cream another great choice. A down side were the Burnt Ends, I found them way too salty which otherwise would have been excellent. The positives outweighed the negative. Starting with Kaylie our server, she made our dining experience wonderful! All of the sides we chose were delicious, the top picks were the Baked Beans, Cole Slaw & Potato Salad. I could not recommend because I'm not a Mac n Cheese fan so I don't know. The Okra was mediocre and if I'm choosing fries I'm going with the regular. Overall it was worth the drive from Ft Smith. Obviously I want to give a higher star rating but I really wanted the Ribs & Pulled Pork. This does not detract from the overall experience, I would still recommend going however, a call ahead before you go would be a great idea to see if they have what you like. read more

The staff here is SO friendly and welcoming. The price points are relatively reasonable considerating other BBQ prices within the area. Everyone of all ages seemed to be enjoying their dinner that evening. From new borns to great grandparents, everyone was happily chowing down. I don't usually get a sandwich when I go to a BBQ spot but I'm glad I did. The sandwich was so good and the fries also. I didn't eat many of the fries because I was so full after the grilled cheese. For a small town, Booneville has two top notch restaurants as far as I'm concerned. I always stop at Reid's or Black Dog when I'm in town. Staff is always friendly and the food always delicious. My wife had the Cassie's Salad. A large plate packed with romaine, smoked chicken, cheese, bacon bits and covered with your choice of BBQ sauce or ranch dressing or both. A tasty fresh salad! I had the two-meat with a side of creamy slaw and Cajun Fried Okra. Basically, fried okra dusted with a Cajun spice blend. A unique twist on an old favorite. For the meat I had tender juicy sliced brisket and the house made sausage. A delicious meat and cheddar sausage packed in a casing and then smoked to perfection. Three versions of BBQ sauces are on the table. The hot was good, but the medium bootleg was my favorite. Texas BBQ ain't got nothin' on these Hillbillies. Ate here on Eclipse Day and the place was packed. Great service. I would give the bbq a 4 and the fried pies a 5. Great service. Ribs were good, pulled pork sandwich was good. We got okra and cajun okra and believed that regular okra was best. The cajun was somewhat sweet. The green beans were very odd and sweet. Macaroni and cheese was very good. BBQ Beans were good. We are locals and sometimes go to Reid's once a week, usually in a group of 3-4. The last FOUR times, we noticed the service has been terrible. Drinks not refilled, no one returning to the table to see if we need anything, no to-go boxes offered, waiting forever to be checked out. And if you can catch someone to ask for something, they look at you as they pass by without stopping and over half the time will either shake their head in acknowledgement or not acknowledge you at all. We also noticed the last FOUR times the food is different. Fries and okra are lukewarm and not fresh, like they had been cooked beforehand and microwaved to the point of death. I let it go the last three times, but at cost of the meals, I asked for fresh fries today. The waitress again walked past as I asked and never acknowledge that I had asked. I did get fresh fries and they did come out hot. Today, my baked potato was also spoiled. I noticed when I scooped it out onto my plate it was kind of slimy but I just thought it was because it was smoking hot and chalked it up to the steam. I put some BBQ sauce on it and it tasted spoiled. I asked my son to taste the BBQ sauce because I thought it was bad. He said the sauce was ok. Then I tried the potato without the BBQ sauce and realized the potato was nasty. It tasted spoiled and freezer burned. My son tried it and said it was spoiled and disgusting. I told the waitress but she just said, "Oh.". She never offered to get me another potato or reflect a discount on my bill for the uneaten potato. When we checked out up front, we told the lady about the spoiled potato. She said she would let the owner know. I am hoping I don't get sick for the part of the potato I did eat. And I hope no one else is served spoiled potatoes. My son ordered a brisket baked potato with sliced brisket today because last week when he asked for lean chopped brisket, they brought all fat brisket and he couldn't even eat it. When he mentioned that last week, they didn't offer to replace with what he asked for so he just wasted his money on that meal. Today, they brought him the potato with two small slices of brisket. Definitely not worth the cost. (His potato was fine; not spoiled like mine, so there is that). If you are going to serve spoiled or cold food, you should not bill the customer for that food. And it would be nice to be acknowledged when you bring a legitimate complaint to your waitstaff or the front cashier. For "Hometown" and family run, I am very disappointed in what this restaurant has become. It did used to be good and I left a positive review a few years ago, but after four times in a row of the same issues, I can't give a good review and want to caution others who might be considering the restaurant. Consistency seems to be the big problem with Reid's lately. It's too bad because choices are limited in this little town. read more

This will now be in our monthly rotation of date day places to eat. The turkey was one of the best smoked turkeys I've ever had... their burnt ends, none better in this area. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, the interior is cozy but the food....very good. The brisket is a must. Did you hear me? You must try the brisket. No knife needed here. I also tried the sausage and the ribs. You do have to get there during normal meal times, or they may be out of items. They were out of chicken and ribs the first time I went there around 8 pm. Keep in mind they are only open Thursday - Sunday. This is extremely disappointing since there aren't many choices in town.
