I put all my info on the application getting ready to purchase tickets. Purchase didn't go through. I called them. They assumed the problem was minor, but I was telling them that it was more complicating than that. I emailed them regarding this, and they told me to call them so they can have a representative walk through it. I called them twice again, and no one picked up, nor called back. I'm going to get hate on this, but it's the truth. I use to work for Reindeer Shuttle, use to call that place my home away from home. First job I got when I got back from college, they were the best of the best with drivers and employees. But in recent years, the company went down. Owners became less caring towards their drivers. Made them work overtime without receiving the pay. Wouldn't allow "certain" drivers touching vehicles. The one owner has health issues and problems seeing. It's unsafe, unhealthy, unprofessional. They even got into an accident. The owners don't care about the 60-80 hour work week the drivers put in. Yelled at them if they go even 2MPH over speed limit. The owners took away drivers PTO hours if they got fired or left. They would not hire you back unless you were playing in their political system. They will also spy on you inside the bus or in the office. They hired back a Driver who made up stories, made up excuses, called off right before shifts, pretended to be sick. They have a high turnover rate due to one of the owners who "trains" them. The old employees have mentioned to the one owner that their spouse is the issue and needs to be replaced or fired. That owner will not do so as it's their spouse and blames the performances or training on other employees. The one owner of the company also goes out to the employees cars and takes photos inside of them while you're working and will talk bad about you if your car is a mess. They will say, "if your car is a mess, so will your performance." The owner will then say you are doing a terrible job and the HR will not say or do anything about it and will side with the owners to save their skin. That's how much of this company cares about employees and their customers. They have left customers at the airport numerous times and lie saying they called when they haven't. They would also not refund them and tell the customers to rate them 5 stars. The owners would also yell at their employees (CSR) if they missed a person even though they are handling phone calls and answering emails while the drivers or Owners would be in office watching TV or playing on their phones. If you are a customer or employee trying to go to Reindeer Shuttle, don't. The family who runs this business does not nor will not care about your safety or your employment. You are not in good hands, you are not going to be safe with certain drivers. You will not feel like you're going home or to the airport. They will take your money or your time. Even if you show them proof of your delay, they will still not refund you, they will ask if you want another shuttle time and if you say no they will not give you money back, they will give you gift certificate and end your ticket that day. read more

Daughter is at the airport and we are trying to figure out what to do, five hours ago, we communicated via email and phone that she was coming in late and needed a spot on the next shuttle. Got a response that they were on it! They were monitoring emails for urgent requests. Unfortunately, that was not the case. So she went to the next shuttle and was told they didn't know about her and had to check everyone else in and see if there was a seat. Okay, fair. But availability could have been communicated this morning givng us hours of a heads up to arrange an alternative. Then with my daughter standing near the door, the bus pulls away without even telling her it was full, offering alternatives, telling her when the next shuttle was... nope just pulled away with her standing there...While I was on the phone with her. Is this real, did that really happen? Yes. Yes, it did. When Reindeer is good, they are very good, but when they are bad, they are very bad. read more

Reindeer shuttle has bad customer service in my opinion! YOU Risk no ride if you choose them! in my opinion (Only option is email to contact them during travel? No way!) American just changed my sons flight due to delay and connecting flight issues. I called reindeer but they won't answer phone during peak shuttle weeks like Christmas and spring break! I asked to move his reservation by email, they said since I didn't get a text from American showing the change, that i can't prove I didn't change the reservation myself, really. So I tried to make a new reservation and pay again, but I couldn't do it except through the phone! (anyone know the hole in my bucket song!!!) They don't answer the phone. The response from Reindeer when I complained was "Additionally, we have not offered and will continue to not offer phone service during our peak dates. We do offer 24 hour customer service via email." Owner March 17 2024. ' If email service is acceptable for you when you travel????? It is not for me. Not good customer service when you are traveling in my opinion. If you need to get your kid to Purdue, particularly when the connecting flight was rerouted, try the other limo or uber services. I tried the other limo and when I called a person answered! WOW! Reindeer is fine if you are confident the plane won't be rerouted. But when you can't trust the service and can't contact them. Just wanted other riders know. Reindeer shuttle charge $5 for changing fee for getting on earlier bus even if there's a space in the shuttle. My son booked later scheduled bus because he was arriving about the same time as earlier bus's departure time. The plane landed early so he was able to catch the earlier one but they asked $5 cash payment as changing fee. My son didn't want to wait for 2 hours at the airport so he just paid to get on. I know $5 isn't much but there were space for him to get on... just saying... read more

Terrible!! This is Olive, the mean reindeer!!!! These people are terrible!!! Very rude and change location without notice. My son, who has autism, booked the shuttle the night prior and received a confirmation that he would be picked up at Union Club. He arrived at 915am for a 930am pickup and then received a call at 927am that he was being picked up somewhere else and to make his way there. He did not know where to go and they subsequently left him after a 5-10 minutes. They knew he was coming but didn't care. He tried to call them back when he didn't know where to go, but it was sent to their main line and there was no way to get in touch with anyone. They did not try to call him back to see where he was or anything. They didn't care! We had to get him an Uber stat in order for him to make his flight and we were out the money. I finally spoke with Brandi, their VP, who stated that they sent an email 3 days prior. I informed her that my son did not receive an email and had only booked the ride the night before. She hung up on me. The customer service is terrible and they don't care about people! The bus service provided by Reindeer Shuttle is excellent, but their customer service falls short. I have had both a great and a terrible experience with them, so on average, I would rate them 3 stars. About a month ago, my flight was delayed, but my driver, Mark, kindly waited over 20 minutes for me, even though he could have left. Thanks to him, I was able to join my family for dinner on time. However, Reindeer's reservation policy is inflexible. I booked a ticket a few days ago and wanted to change the reservation. The customer service team simply replied, "Your ticket is nonrefundable and not good for a voucher. Are you sure you want to cancel this trip?" I wouldn't prioritize Reindeer Shuttle unless you are 100% certain about your travel plans. read more

First, the Pros: -easy online scheduling -genuinely nice drivers -very timely -WiFi onboard -good price to O'Hare ($55 one way) Con: There is really just one, but is absolutely a deal breakers for me: unbelievably uncomfortable vans! -the first time I took the shuttle I thought "yikes, this vehicle has a serious suspension problem!" But then the second time, same problem. You physically bounce up and down in your seat (regardless of whether you're on a smaller side road or the highway) the entire time. I don't get motion sickness in vehicles but riding these shuttles name me feel like I am going to throw up. It is like you're riding in the back of a pickup truck. The free WiFi is great, but you can barely read your screen or even hold your phone because of the bouncing. I want to love this company because they're great in so many ways. But the 'ride' is absolutely horrible. read more

Yes, very thankful to have a shuttle service to Chicago which Reindeer provides. And drivers are super nice , helpful and friendly . BUT... Too much bureaucratic system to book or do any kind of changes! Sometimes gets incompetent or unfriendly representative to talk to or answer questions over the phone! Lafayette Limo allows 2 check in luggage but not with Reindeer and have to pay extra! Difficult to recommend to others! Only utilizes Reindeer if it fits my schedule. read more

Founded as a Purdue University graduate student project, Reindeer Shuttle has grown into a fantastic and convenient service run by great people. On a recent trip to visit a friend, Reindeer was recommended to me while trying to organize transportation between Chicago and Lafayette. My original plan was to rent a car, but the shuttle ended up being more economical in terms of price and accessibility. I took the morning shuttle from O'Hare to Lafayette on a Friday morning. Getting to the shuttle area at O'Hare is a bit of a hike from the main airport areas, but plenty of signs make it easy to find. Upon arrival at the shuttle area, I was warmly greeted by our driver, April, who graciously took and stowed my luggage. Once the remaining passengers were accounted for, we set off for Lafayette ahead of schedule. The shuttle itself was comfortable with a decent amount of legroom (a necessity for me, being 6-feet tall) and a smooth ride. Another passenger quickly fell asleep. There is WiFi provided on board, which is easy to access, steady, and pretty speedy. April was a sweetheart to talk with through the duration of the trip. Before I knew it, we were arriving at Purdue just in time for lunch. On the return trip from Lafayette to Chicago the following Sunday afternoon, pickup from Purdue was very easy and we left promptly on time. I had the pleasure of riding with Nathan at the wheel. Just like April, Nathan stowed my baggage with a smile and was great to talk with. It was this leg of the trip that I noticed Reindeer names its shuttle vans after Santa Claus' reindeer. You can find each shuttle's respective name on the passenger and driver doors. For transportation between Chicago/O'Hare and Lafayette/Purdue, look no further than Reindeer Shuttle. I've been travelling Reindeer shuttle for almost a year now. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The buses are always on time unless and until there is some extenuating reason. Excellent service! One of the best services I have used. Much better than Lafayette Limo. They do not need printed tickets. Drivers do not harass for extra money unlike Lafayette Limo when you don't have a printed ticket. The bus is much safer and new. They have lower prices too. Also this service is run by our fellow Purdue student. Let's support him in the endeavor. Edit: With the new management it has gone downhill pretty soon. Reindeer Shuttle is the best! In 4.5 years of my son being a student at Purdue he's only ridden Reindeer a couple of times due to scheduling and pickup location. I want to thank Reindeer Shuttle for being so flexible and allowing my son to walk on one of your shuttles for a ride back to West Lafayette at 9:15 on 10/14/21. We scheduled Lafayette Limo because it was an earlier departure time and that was a huge mistake. They left him stranded at the airport and claim they were there at the pick up point of Zone 5 at the scheduled departure time but they weren't. Thankfully as he was getting ready to schedule a very expensive Uber Reindeer Shuttle pulled up and saved the day. Thank you for caring for the students and people in your community. read more

Finally - an alternative to that other Purdue-Indianapolis airport shuttle and it couldn't be better. To date, three round trips (two to Indy, one to O'Hare) on Reindeer with no drama...on time, friendly, wifi and usb charging ports on board, and when needed (due to flight delays), excellent and efficient customer service. Oh, and all at a lower price than the other guys. Give them a try next time you need a ride to the airport and I think you'll be just as thrilled. read more

I recently flew out from Oregon to Indy and had booked Reindeer Shuttle. I was supposed to meet up with my son, who was flying out from CA. My son's plane was late, so I called Reindeer, and Nancy was so nice and rescheduled us on a later shuttle that evening. Then, due to unexpected meeting with friends at the airport later, we were offered a ride. I called Reindeer and they didn't blink an eye. They asked if I'd like to "donate" my unused ride to Purdue and I said, "Yes! Please donate it to a student." Nancy was happy to do so. We kept our scheduled return but then the evening before, we found out my plane had a slight delay so I called them again to reschedule a later return and they were so nice! The shuttle had been FULL, but I think it was Bill that called me back and said they found a larger bus, so we could be on it. That's extraordinary customer service! The bus was nice and clean and on time. We were greeted ahead of time in our hotel lobby and told where to get on. The driver was friendly. With all my changes and several phone calls, I consistently received friendly, accommodating service. They did not act the least bit put out. Instead, they went above and beyond. I spent over $500 in 3 week for Reindeer Shuttle because my family member had to have kidney dialysis in Indianapolis. One night his dialysis treatment ran longer than anticipated and he could not make the scheduled shuttle on time and I called and changed the time for the shuttle service. The customer service person said fine and changed the service. After a painful dialysis treatment he went to the airport and rode the shuttle from Indianapolis to Lafayette. After he arrived in Lafayette, the bus driver told him that there was a $5.00 change fee, in which we had not been told about and the drivers said he could not get off the shuttle until he paid. So he was held hostage on the shuttle with his legs and feet cramping for $5.00. The drivers cannot take credit cards and he did not have any cash so he offered him the only cash that he had which was $1.00. The driver said no, he had to pay the whole amount but that since he could see he was in pain he would let him off the shuttle. At 8:30 AM Reindeer Shuttle called me, because I had made the change and demanded that I pay the $5.00. Five dollars after we had purchased five hundred in 3 weeks. What kind of customer service is that? That was never the intent of this service when it was started. Reindeer Shuttle was started by students to help students. It was like Meg-A- Bus it sold tickets to students a discounted price and it was built on providing an affordable way for students to get to the airport. The service that Reindeer Shuttle has become is MEAN. It holds sick people hostage and has no compassion. It values its policies over customers and its has lost its sense of community. The community that has build it from 2 van operation to several vans and charter bus operation. So my advice is be aware because Reindeer Shuttle don't care. Pay their $5.00. read more

Reindeer Shuttle's response to any kind of feedback about their services or operations is to say "if you don't like it, try Lafayette Limo." They offer no services outside of business hours, so if you're a parent on the West Coast, booking holiday travel for your college student can be like defusing a bomb. If your airline changes a flight time, good luck getting it adjusted without any complications or fees. When one of their IT systems caused problems for a reservation we had, they made us take on the burden of proving that we paid by submitting bank statements - and this was literally the week of travel! The worst part is that you're trapped as a parent because each of the shuttle services only offers certain time slots and it's like a huge puzzle to make it work. I want to like their service because my college aged daughter is dependent on them for the next 3 1/2 years, but it's already tense and causes high blood pressure every time I consider booking with them. I've decided to swallow the pill and hold my breath for my daughter's sake, but I'd find an alternative in a second if I could. On the bright side, from my daughter's perspective, it's been smooth as a rider - though even after working on that adjusted reservation for days, they still had her name on the wrong shuttle time when she boarded. Prefer Reindeer to Lafeyette Limo and here is why: I have used both. However, in November I was scheduled to ride with Reindeer. 15 minutes before my ride was scheduled to arrive, Reindeer called me to let me know that the driver was running 10-15 minutes late. A few weeks later, I waited 10 minutes past the due time for Layfette. I didn't hear from them so I called to complain. The call center took a message and had someone from customer service call me back. The young lady who called me back informed me that they posted something online to expect delays and they couldn't possibly call all their passengers to let them know they were running late. By the way, there were only 3 of us waiting for the shuttle. When I explained that most people are not checking the website while waiting outside in the cold, she was kind enough to explain that there was a waiting room inside the airport. This is not customer service and I am unlikely to use Lafayette again. read more

Just completed the second leg of a round trip from ORD to Purdue and back in 24 hours. Taking my son for a school visit and planning it from Hawaii was nerve wracking as I was looking for the most reliable and reasonable priced service. I have taken a lot of shuttles in my travels and always a bit wary. Both drivers were friendly, polite and on time. The shuttle van itself was spotless and comfortable. The drivers drove well with traffic and were safe. If my son decides Purdue is the school for him we will definitely use Reindeer in the future. read more

A cheap easy way to get to the airport. Rides start earlier than lafayette limo if you've got a 6:30 flight. The response time and customer service is also amazing. Had my flight delayed and emailed them to reschedule my shuttle time. They got back to me within 20 minutes with a new time--so easy! I have used all three shuttles from Purdue to O'hare, and found Reindeer to have the best customer service. They are very responsive in email, and were great about making a change to a ticket for a nominal fee. Also nice that you don't have to have a paper ticket, just your ID and confirmation number. I took an afternoon shuttle for catching a flight at O'Hare last month. The shuttle is very unreliable. The driver took all clogged I-90 on a Friday afternoon and took more than 4 hours to reach ORD. I almost missed my flight. The customer service when called was completely nonchalant about it. We would not take this shuttle ever again - other companies are much more reliable and knows to take the regular route. read more

Update to previous review: I received a follow up call from the owner about my recent shuttle service concerns and experience. My concerns were fully addressed and the fee for suspending the shuttle for a future trip was waived, along with being provided an extended time frame to use the suspended shuttle ticket. I was later surprised with a gift certificate in my inbox for future shuttle service and an apology email. I will definitely use their shuttle service in the future, as it seems my first time shuttle experience issues were a rare occurence. The only reason for not giving my review the full 5 out of 5 stars is due to the longer time frame it took to recieve a response, which I was informed was also a rare occurence and the internal acceptable reason as to why it took so long. Thank you Paul for all your help on this. After trying their shuttle service for the first time I was highly disappointed in the lack of management and internal miscommunication that I was provided. I reached out about a flight delay and unused paid shuttle service due to the that delay. I was told by a driver the office staff would take care of me due to the delay being "out of my hands". The office staff informed me I would have to pay an additional amount in order to use the already paid for shuttle service. I asked to speak to a manager for this internal miscommunication. I was informed that a manager was not available by phone and to email info@reindeershuttle.com. Its been over a week and my email has still gone unanswered and my concerns unresolved. I would not recommend their shuttle service to anyone. There are plenty of other affordable options that can provide customer service and understand that uncontrollable delays happen in the travel industry. read more
