I paid for 2 nights. The second night when I returned to my room my key card didn't work luckily a maid was near by to open it for me.

They just demolished this motel last week. 56 unit apartments will be built on the site in the spring.

Not a bad place to stay! Although the surrounding is kinda on the questionable side if you have kids.

Delta Hotels Woodbridge is a good hotel and is the best around this area, but benefits from no…read moresolid competition. It's probably the largest hotel in the area and was hosting a film industry convention while I was there. I have stayed at this hotel a few times before and my rating improved slightly this time, especially given they gave me a courtesy upgrade owing to a shortage of King bed rooms which I reserved, but there are several issues that keep the rating nearly the same. 1. Reservations are still executed centrally via Marriott and the wait time could be a moment, but was easier to navigate through the prompts this time. Staff are friendly and efficient at the front desk when one checks in and out. 2. The hotel lacks amenities of a hotel this size. It does have a pool, but has no shop evident where one could buy a charger, toothbrush or aspirin if one forgot to bring the like. 3. The upgraded King Suite had no microwave or refrigerator. The dark and smooth tile on the bathroom floor can become dangerously slippery if the shower leaks water running across that floor and the towel laid down on the floor does not catch all the runoff. You may not see the water runoff on the dark tile and could lose your footing. Be careful. The toilet paper could benefit from better placement, making it less awkward to reach. You will hunt around for light switches on the walls and next to your bed the first time entering the dark room. The televisions and room a/c unit worked well, but the a/c heating unit was a bit noisy. 4. At well over two hundred dollars a night for a King room, there is no breakfast voucher for the cafe on the ground level to the right of the entrance. The cafe has a very basic menu and they serve your order as if it's to go in a bag, with boxes inside. If you specify that you are eating in your room, that would be fine. However, it's wasteful of paper and cardboard when a plate would suffice and be easier from which to eat. As a captive audience, it's the only thing immediately within reach. A few scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, twin pancakes and small coffee is nineteen bucks. Not bad, but could and would be better if competitive options were immediately available. This hotel benefits from a lack of real competition in the immediate area. The price points are a bit high for what you get and that is a consequence of a lack of real competition in the area, inflation notwithstanding. The friendly and respectful staff deserve your attention. The people who work here from the front desk to housekeeping have been great each time. 3.2 stars

I really want to give a shoutout to Joel at the Delta Woodbridge. I've been here for several days…read morenow, and watching him work has genuinely impressed me. This hotel gets busy, and the staff here deals with A LOT. I've watched Joel handle a full bar, food orders, guests needing things, and what feels like a million things happening at once -- and somehow he handles all of it with such ease and calm. He never seems flustered, never makes a guest feel like they're bothering him, and still manages to be attentive and personable with everyone. What really stands out is how effortless he makes it look. You can tell he takes pride in what he does and genuinely cares about the people he's taking care of. That kind of attitude is hard to find, especially when you're dealing with the public all day. I travel a lot for work, so I see a lot of different hotels and service levels, and Joel is someone I'll actually remember from this trip. I really hope the GM and Marriott leadership see this because Joel deserves some recognition. People like him are what make a hotel experience memorable, and you're lucky to have him.

You know how people say "I would give it negative stars if I could"? Holy smokes... I would give it…read moreone negative star for every second that I had to stay here. Where to start: The front desk was awful. You usually just stand there and wait for someone to come to the empty front desk. Even then, the person you see tends to operate as though you're annoying them or preventing them from doing something they really want to do. The lady gave us our keys and didn't bother to tell us where the elevator was, how to get to the room, where the pool is, or where the gym is. Must have overlooked it. The first room I had seemed to be occupied or not ready, based on the trash piled outside, my key not working, and noises I heard inside. The front desk then gave me a second room that had the latch on the door busted and completely missing AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK. I hated having to complain yet again, but basic security, at a minimum, should be there. The young lady finally "upgraded" me to a more spacious suite. The suite was fine, but the bathroom is disgusting, stained, and smelled bad. Not only that, I could hear the people in the other rooms arguing as well as the people outside, and kids crying from another room. Nightmarish. I honestly can't emphasize how badly I wish I had never stayed here, nor how very much you should stay away, and the certainty with which I will never stay here again.

After getting help to get out I reported the incident and they took the report refusing to give me a copy. I asked for a rubber mat to insure that those staying with me would not experience the same fate. They NEVER RESONDED. I needed to go to the ER and came back with a sling. I was not asked by anyone in the front desk, or higher if I was okay or asked if I needed anything. It was as if nothing ever happened. I walked over to housekeeping and asked them for a rubber mat for the tub. They said the hotel DIDN'T HAVE ANY. We needed to take TOWEL BATHS each day to avoid the hazard. When I got home I made several calls to inquire about liability information. I finally got a number they assured me could help me, but all I could get was a message machine and no one returned my call. We were also on the first floor and EACH NIGHT AROUND MIDNIGHT there was yelling and fighting in the hall and no one at the front desk, not far away, brought anything to order or called the police. This experience was the worst case of not caring about the safety of their customers, no concern for the customer and neglect of the customers forget about hospitality and customer service! Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend the Holiday Inn Express Suites Woodbridge by HIG in Avenel, NJ.

First, the decor beautiful and everything is up to date and well-maintained. The big beds are really comfortable, the showers are clean and spacious and have good hot water and water pressure, the tub drains well, and the whole premises is safe and well-lit. The whole hotel is non-smoking. It's a very clean, very well kept up, and well-run hotel. The free Wi-Fi always worked. The locks could be connected to my iPhone via Bluetooth so I only had to press a button on an app on my phone to get into the building and unlock the door to my room. We had two big flat screen TVs with all the channels. There was a nice welcome message stating my Hilton membership status on the TV every time I checked in. A Target is across the parking lot and I loved that. It was so convenient. We really enjoyed the breakfasts. Derrick and his team did an amazing job, providing a delicious variety of fresh hot and cold food every day. The breakfast room has lots of plants and a high ceiling and enormous windows, and it just felt refreshing and invigorating to step in there every day. It had a good vibe. Due to my home being destroyed by water damage, my husband and were guests here for a full four months. I'm so grateful to everyone here for making this our home away from home during an extremely turbulent and stressful time. Many of the employees here were a blessing. These individuals went out of their way to help me: Javier, Camille, Ana, Arthur, Karnell, Derrick, Mervin, and Lupe. I'm grateful to you all!

I booked the hotel after comparing reviews for hotels around Westfield, NJ. The Fairfield Inn in Union wasn't available so I had to find an alternative. Comparing all the options, this Springhill Suites won out--even though I had stayed at some of the Marriot brand hotels in the past. Post COVID, I find the best quality and consistency on average at the Springhill Suites brand. It snowed the night before but the site was clear. I stopped at the front desk to get my key and was greated very warmly and provided with a welcome bag that included a bottle of water, a packed of baked cheddar goldfish, and a bag of Sahale Honey Almonds glaze mix. The hotel is nicely designed and well kept--very warm and welcoming. A large breakfast area and nice workout space. TWO elevators My room is very nice. Very comfortable bed. Very clean and nicely made. Nice TV, desk, well lit, clean and nicely layed out bathroom. They pay attention to detail even in the way the bath mat, wash cloth and towels are presented. All dispensers were full, shower had warm and hot water. Lotion provide also. I will definitely stay here again.

They put me in an accessible room with a king-size bed. I'm not sure why I was assigned that room, but I actually really liked the layout and setup. The room was comfortable and functional, and everything was cool once I got settled in. Breakfast was a plus here. They had protein options and a solid spread, and everything was stocked and handled well. It felt "airtight" in terms of how they ran it no chaos, just a straightforward, good hotel breakfast that helped start the day right. Overall, between the room setup and the breakfast, I'm giving this SpringHill Suites 4 stars.
