Girl at the front desk was as quiet as a mouse, acted like she didn't want to be there and now I know why, and essentially was a mute. I booked a king bed room. Walk into room? And felt like i was inside a cigarette. Smoking room. I DID NOT ORDER THIS!! I DONT SMOKE OR DO I LIKE SMELLING LIKE IT!!!! So I go back downstairs and ask to be moved- they say they only have a two queen bed room. So I tell the manager she's a moron and go back up to my room. Should have walked to the local convenience store and got a carton of Parliaments. The vending machines are empty, the pool is "closed for maintenance," and the whole place is underwhelming. The next morning I waddled down to the lobby for the free breakfast - which looked good. Real scrambled eggs, an option for ones with cheese, brown n' serve sausage links which we grew up on, and home fries. Got a little of each - but the problem??? IT WAS ALL COLD!!!! I made two mini waffles and they were good enough - even though the waffle mix was incorrect. I pride myself on a day after coffee at these places - put in the creamer and Splenda, and then added what looked like a very light roast. IT WAS COLD!!! And the coffee had more water than roast grounds. Man what a joke of a hotel top to bottom.

There is no in room coffee. This has been a thing with IHG and typically I ask when booking. If they don't have in room coffee I'll book elsewhere. I didn't with this one so shame on me. I get up early with my morning coffee and begin working from the hotel room. So today I had to get dressed and go down to the lobby to get coffee bringing it back to my room so I can begin working. Wife had bites on her arms, neck, face by the morning. I had a bad delayed reaction and broke out with bed bug bites on my face, neck, arms, hands, back, legs, and feet. We have plenty of pictures as well. Our child was in a full zip up onesie and was luckily spared, otherwise I would have lost it. Got out of this hotel quickly, as we saw streaks of blood (from the bed bugs) on the sheets after we woke up and checked. Usually the best you're gonna find. Wasn't worth trying to find a bug just to prove a point. No surprise and we don't even care about a refund honestly. It's more important that people know what they're paying for.

Even though no games were going on while I was there, it was a nice (and beautiful) change of scenery. When I checked in, I was impressed by the gentleman at the front desk; he was very cheerful and friendly! Without me asking, he stated that he gave me a room with a great view and far from the elevator so I wouldn't hear much foot traffic (always a win!). My room was, clean, comfortable and overlooked Ripken Stadium (I attached a picture of the view from my room). There was a nice indoor pool and even an arcade! Breakfast was great; had the standard bacon/eggs but a few extras like Brie cheese (which I always appreciate!) Overall, I enjoyed my short stay and would definitely come back if in the area--I wouldn't mind getting a room with that same view during a game!

On the weekends, Ron serves a gourmet breakfast to die for, much better than any restaurant in the area or restaurant/hotel in the world. My husband fished every morning and every night right along with the locals at various venues, and Ron knows them all. La Cle D'or is one, two, three blocks walking distance to everything in town. It's a great place for antique shopping, and Ron has some pieces available throughout your room for sale and at extremely reasonable prices. So shopping for the women and fishing for the men. In the evenings, there are a couple of restaurants that feature good food and good live music. This is a wondeful place to get away for a romantic weekend!

The biggest improvement from our first visit was check-in. Last year we waited close to 45 minutes, but this time it was quick and easy. There were self-service kiosks, staff available to help, and we were checked in with our wristbands and parking pass in no time. One thing Great Wolf Lodge absolutely gets right is communication. From the moment I booked until we checked out, they kept us informed with emails and text messages about our stay, FAQs, activity schedules, upgrades, and even notified us that the water park would open early at 9 a.m. instead of 11. During our stay, I could text their virtual assistant with questions and always received quick, helpful responses. It made everything so easy. The water park was a lot of fun, and I love that you can enjoy it both before your room is ready and after checking out. We arrived around lunchtime and were able to spend most of the afternoon at the water park, then returned again the next morning after checkout. One thing we were disappointed by was the bar area near the water park. We were told there were TVs there, and since the World Cup was on, we asked about watching the game while hanging out at the bar. Staff said they would try to get it on Fox, but unfortunately the TVs weren't working. It would have been nice to have the option to watch the World Cup there instead of having to go back to the room, and my brother ended up staying in the room to watch the game instead of spending time at the water park. We also had a disappointing experience with customer service at Barnwood, the on-site restaurant, during dinner the night before. I did leave a separate review for Barnwood specifically, but since it is on the property, I wanted to mention it here as part of our overall stay as well. Our favorite part of the trip was the Legend of Luna story time. It was interactive, magical, and beautifully done with special effects that made it feel immersive. My daughter loved it so much she wanted to watch it twice! There were also plenty of other family activities throughout the day, including dance parties, storytime yoga, MagiQuest, bowling, mini golf, ropes courses, mining activities, and more. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Throughout the resort, the bathrooms were consistently clean, and I frequently saw staff actively cleaning. Housekeeping was also incredibly efficient--they were already preparing rooms right at checkout time. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, and even other guests seemed to be in great spirits, which added to the overall atmosphere. Like most resorts, food and extras can get expensive. We decided to skip the breakfast buffet after taking a look and instead grabbed breakfast from the Dunkin' on-site, which worked out perfectly. Having that option was definitely a plus. The only real downside during our stay happened at the outdoor pool. Someone got sick in the water, and while staff removed the visible mess with a net, the pool remained open and guests were allowed to continue swimming. That didn't sit well with us, so we chose not to return to the outdoor pool for the rest of our visit. I also wish guests had the option to use a different payment method at the resort restaurants instead of automatically charging purchases to the card linked to the room. Those were relatively minor issues compared to everything else the resort offers. The water park, activities, clean facilities, excellent communication, and friendly staff made this a memorable family getaway. It's only a little over an hour from home, making it an easy overnight trip, and we'll definitely be back again.

I have wanted to take my family to Great Wolf Lodge for nearly 20 years. While booking my reservation, I found a discount code after I had already selected my dates. I went back to apply it and, without me realizing it, the reservation dates changed to two days later. There was no intentional change on my part. My wife, our 8-month-old daughter, and I packed the car with everything a baby requires and drove hours to the Maryland resort. After waiting in line for over an hour to check in, we were finally told that our reservation wasn't for that day and there was nothing the front desk could do except hand me a phone number to call. With no rooms available, we were forced to find a room at the Red Roof Inn down the street. When I called to cancel, things somehow got even worse. The customer service representative asked why I was canceling, so I explained everything and told her there was no availability because I had literally just been turned away at the resort. She ignored what I had just explained and asked what dates I wanted to switch to. I had to repeat that there was no availability and that I had just driven there with my family. She then told me they would still keep my $130 deposit because it was a non-refundable reservation and claimed cancellations had to be made within 24 hours. The problem? I had made the reservation only about eight hours earlier. Even after I pointed that out and asked her to actually read the reservation details in her own system, there was absolutely no empathy, no ownership, and no attempt to make things right. Mistakes happen. What defines a company is how they respond when they do. Great Wolf Lodge failed at every opportunity. The front desk couldn't help. Customer service didn't listen. Nobody showed even the slightest concern for a family stranded with an infant after driving hours to what was supposed to be a special trip. This was supposed to be our first Great Wolf Lodge experience. It will also be our last. I will never stay at another Great Wolf Lodge, and I certainly won't recommend the Maryland location to anyone. There are plenty of businesses that value their customers. Unfortunately, Great Wolf Lodge is not one of them.
