The massage was relaxing and truly was full body. Prices here are extremely reasonable and it looks like there is a variety of services, so I will definitely be coming back to try out more. There is also ATM in the lobby as rates are slightly cheaper if you pay in cash/for tipping. The facility was quiet and clean. There is a restroom available as well that is clean. My only critique is I wish the towel wasn't a beach towel as it was a little rough on my skin and not very spa like.

The masseuse was either pouring huge amounts of oil on my body for some parts or just aggressively rubbing my skin for others. He was massaging painful joint points & areas most avoid. He even got oil in my eye. I do not believe these therapists are licensed or trained, avoid at ALL costs and save your money. WORST experience in nyc.

You know you have a problem when you walk in and the manager and his workers look at you and you can see their thoughts played out on their faces and none of them very nice. I would not ever recommend this place to anyone......well maybe to someone I didnt like. Dr. Ma is absolutely incredible. He has been treating me since July after I was diagnosed with several herniated disc. He gives attentive care to all pressure points and is sure to help you to get better even if it takes time. 100% recommend! Please see him, you will not regret it. From the very beginning of the message, I felt uncomfortable with the masseur (I never got his name). He: * leaned his body against mine way too much, forcing me to slide over to the other side of the massage table to avoid him. He either did not understand what I told him in English, or he feigned not understanding. * completely removed the towel covering my butt, and although I replaced it twice, he removed it twice more. * slide his hand across my privates. At that point, I stopped him and warned him to be careful, and to keep his hand away from my privates, and he said, "ok." A few minutes later, he repeated this on my other leg. I then stopped the massage, told him to leave, and went to the front desk to report him. I told the receptionist that they were both lucky I didn't call the sex crimes unit to report a sexual assault. The receptionist defended the masseur, saying there had never been a complaint against him. Later that day I reported the incident to the 78th Precinct, and Officer McCarthy filed a "forcible touching" complaint. UPDATE: The manager, Amy, later texted me and offered me a $100 bribe to take down this review. I refused. Has anyone else suffered inappropriate behavior/sexual assault by the masseuses and masseurs at Qi Gong? If so, please report these on their Yelp page to warn other potential customers. I have 3 herniated disks and one bulging disk. I swim, run, and do MMA. My back gets worn out in time and this is the place I come to feel rejuvenated. I have been coming here for about two years I have only experienced two bad massages, but that's when I was trying out different masseuses. I feel like this place is tailored for true deep tissue massages. Before coming here I have been to other locations where their deep tissue massages were extremely light compared to this location. So I would say about 70% of the masseuses here are heavy handed - which is perfect for me because of how tight my back gets. Now you can definitely find a light massage here but it's a roll of the dice in that respect. The only thing I can see that can be annoying is the language barrier. Don't come to this location with complicated requests because you will get frustrated. Point and mimic is the key. Use small english words and you can express your needs. I have a regular masseuse which already knows exactly what to do, so I leave feeling amazing!!

Owner did share that there would be surcharges for using a card. Location is clean and accessible. Plenty of street parking. Just be aware that on Fridays from Sept- Nov the street parking is canceled for Open Streets NYC where folks dine in the street so you'll have to use the side streets. Arrived at 4:00 PM and was seen immediately. Amy my masseuse instructed me to remove all clothing( except underwear ) and lay face down on the massage table. I settled in as spa sounds and lemongrass scent helped me to relax into the ambiance of the space . She gave me a dry rub for the first 10 mins ( sheets on). She then applied her first layer of oil and with the right amount of pressure worked out my trigger points and knots in sections. She then applied a second layer of scented oil and gave a deeper level of rub. There were plenty of really painful moments but not because of her. I had been holding a lot of tension in my mid back. Over the next 30-40 mins she worked each area intentionally and then applied the hot stone and gave me a soothing rub for an additional 10 mins leading to the end of our session. I took one star away because in comparison to another establishment, the massage wasn't as complete. There were areas that were completely overlooked, such as my thigh. Also, some practices allow you to add on the foot massage for an additional price. At this location, I wasn't offered that option. If you know about reflexology, you know how important the feet are and so addressing the larger parts of the body and neglecting the feet isn't holistic. I'd probably return but design my package myself ( as much as they'd allow). Again, fairly good massage- just not complete satisfaction.

As other reviewers have noted, this is a no-frills establishment and a bit eccentric in that sense, but the prices are a steal, and everyone who works there is kind. Make sure you choose to come here with the correct expectations: You are paying less than $100 for an hour long massage. You will get an INCREDIBLE massage done by someone who is very skilled and professional! But at that amazing price, don't be greedy. You will not get a private "room" (they are separated by curtains, so you can hear everyone around you), everything is a little shabby, and the place will probably be busy and feel a bit cramped. If you consider any of that to be a dealbreaker, this place isn't for you. Which is fine, because the rest of us who like it for what it is have less appointment competition! I went here after dealing with back and shoulder pain for almost a week from sleeping in the wrong position, so I was badly in need of getting some knots fixed. The part where they use the hot stones at the end -- oh my goodness, it was incredible! (I was slightly taken aback when the masseuse straddled me since I wasn't expecting that or asked/given a heads up, but she was completely professional and seriously, the massage was amazing from start to finish.) It took a day or two for the effects to fully kick in from the massage, but once they did, all the pain I had been experiencing went away. So grateful for that! I will definitely be returning.
