I only used Mike once but it was a good experience. The nature of car shipping is that the brokers (like Mike) take their fee and then agree to place the order on the exchange for independent drivers (or companies) to fulfill. You can agree in advance to the price you're willing to pay, but what you're really hiring is Mike's ability to hold to that price when contracting with a driver/shipper. Sometimes they'll accept the rate and other times they'll try to charge more; get it in writing up front and then stick to it. You are entitled to confirm their bond in advance and look it up online--it's publicly available. read more

Delivery was supposed to be 8/17 and not delivered until 8/18. Multiple phone calls with the driver "things happen, I'll be there in an hour, I'll drop it between 10 and 12. I'm an hour and a half away". Excuses, excuse! We were quoted $1200. Paid the $150 down payment (which come to find out was mike's broker fee) so that didn't come off the $1200 I thought it would. very very disappointed on how this transaction went. first of all i have used this company several times before and never had any issues in the past but after the most recent encounter i will never use nor refer their business ever again.. i reached out to mike at reliable auto to setup a pickup of my vehicle and i was very adamant that the transport needed to have a lift gate since the vehicle was lowered. he agreed with both the price and lift and said that wont be a problem. when the driver arrives it is a truck without a lift ... the drivers had difficulty getting the vehicle on but were able to finally get it on after splitting several pieces of wood and at a point getting the car stuck. also after calling mike and asking him why the truck that was dispatched did not have a lift, he simply dismissed my concerns and said verbatim " well they have been doing this for years and have a 5 star rating"... i told him that wasn't the point at all and that has nothing to do with it.. furthermore after the drivers get to the location they tell me what my remaining balance is and it is more than what was agreed with mike... mike lied to me about the amount owed to transport the vehicle and did a bait and switch... absolutely will never use this service again nor will i refer these guys for business. they just lost my business forever.. Was told by Mike that I would have car moved on a certain day. It wasn't moved for almost a month later and in the mean time kept getting the run around by him each time I called to check the status. I dealt with Mike from Reliable Auto Tranz (i think hes the only guy there) and at first he was helpful and nicest guy to deal with before any money was involved of course. I explained to him my situation about trading cars with another guy so i would need two cars picked up and delivered and he told me that he could make it work no problem. So i decided to go with him. I was told the total cost would be $650 per car with a discounted $50 since i was going to be sending two units through him and it would take about 2-3 days as soon as its picked up. He informed me there was a brokers fee of $150 to begin the process and the remaining balance would be due once the car was delivered. I made sure to confirm the amount of $450 so there was no misunderstanding that i owed the driver when it was delivered and he says YES. okay cool perfect everything was set i paid. I didnt hear anything for 3 days from mike or any transport service with an update. When i call no one answered so of course i began to worry. Finally another day goes by and mikes calls me back with an attitude change basically saying you dont tell me what to do, i dont need to notify you about anything, i scheduled to have your cars picked up and im done! good luck to you (of course with more cuss words) Luckily my cars ended up being delievered a week later than what i was quoted and on top of that i was over charged and ended up paying $950 per car and not the $600 that i was originally told over the phone. He quoted a price of $650.00. When I called about the location of the car int transit, he spewed out the most vulgar language you can imagine. When I told him that that was not appropriate language to use with his customers, he said, "I wipe my a$$ with your opinion, shut the F-up!" (my sister was hooked up to a kidney dialysis machine at the time). I was not allowed to speak because he was screaming curses and making dirty comments about me. (None of us have never met the man in person). When the car was delivered, his driver demanded $900.00 or he would not take the car down from the truck. When I told him that was outrageous, he threatened to take the car to South Carolina for his next delivery (and charge by the mile) and then put the car in storage for nonpayment. I was going to use Mike as a broker to ship a car from the east coast to the west coast. He quoted a fair price. When I called him, I was a little put off by his initial attitude, but ignored my instincts. I explained that the car needed to be picked up that week before I left on vacation. He said it would be no problem. He charged a deposit fee without me signing anything, which was another red flag. After two weeks the car still was not shipped. He refused to respond to texts. When I spoke to him on the phone and explained that the seller was getting frustrated with waiting for the car to be picked up, Mike began shouting at me and basically laid into me with profanity. I informed him the next day via text that I needed to cancel because the process had taken too long. The seller informed me that he was going to sell the car locally if it wasn't picked up within two days, so I needed to find another way or the deal was dead on the car. This idiot, Mike, actually called the seller and misrepresented himself as another carrier and pretended to make arrangements to pick the car up the following day. He then told me he wouldn't cancel via text and that I had to call him. I called, but he was an unprofessional POS and refused to answer his phone. I left a voicemail explaining that I needed it canceled immediately. He then sent the following text to me, "You do not decide on my cancelation policy. That's fine though, just for the future, realize 1 thing....on your best and most efficient day you will never be smarter than me. I just verified with the seller that you tried to bullshit me saying the deal is canceled. It was never canceled with him. He had a friend in place for weekend pickup...so next time be a man and grow a pair of balls and call not text like a 17 yr old pimply face kid to state your case." The owner / person I dealt with is Mike Prestia told me that the shipping and his fee to ship a 2014 Ford Mustang inoperable from Copart in Wichita, KS to Auburn NY would be a total of $700; $100 his broker fee and $600 for the transporter . The car was promised to be picked up before 6/15/2016 before storage fees of $20 per day would start. Mike never contacted us afterwards about any changes to prices or pick-up dates. Nothing was sent for us to sign. On or about 6/16/2016 we received a call from the transporter ILK LLC - Lubov Feoktistova informing us that he picked the car up and would be delivering the car on 6-20-2016 and that we would need to pay him cash of $800. I told him it should be only $600, he said no and to call the broker Mike. We called Mike and left a message. Mike later called back with all sorts of ridiculous reasons and also being rude, argumentative, and blatant lying. It seems to be Mikes' way of operatating as many similar transactions have been posted in various online reviews about this vendor. We refused to pay Mike and started a case through our credit company (CHASE) they denied our claim; Chase stated he had provided the (broker) services. We stated to Case that he never followed the pricing and timing of the transport as he stated. Is that not what a broker is to do, broker a deal BUT within your framework. My son, who is in the military needed his car transported and Mike offered an initial quote that was unbelievable. Mike was completely understanding, honest and trustworthy. Long story short, he lied and he ripped my son off doubling the initial quote and this, we didn't know until the car was already on its way. His reason for the increase? He said my son was posting too many times and Mike had to "beat the other brokers" by jacking up the rate and that my son had "agreed with the new rate", which was a total lie. On top of that, Mike stated my son's credit card declined when the bank statement clearly shows it went through. We gave him our time frame. When it came down to a few days prior to pick up we had never received confirmation. He sent it to a wrong email. When we did receive it he had the info wrong. When we called him on it he said we were calling to change the pick up date and he was accommodating us. He took our deposit, which is illegal at this point and the car was to be picked up on Saturday. We called again to get info. He finally gave us the truck drivers number, which must have been a fake number because it goes straight to voicemail and no return text. The driver was supposedly coming from Long Beach. It is now Tuesday, more than 24 hours past the new pick up date and we're told via text that there was trouble at another pick up. I called Mike back and demanded a refund of our money and to cancel our agreement. I was yelled at and told the contract would be cancelled and a deposit refunded and promptly hung up on. The truck sat in Austin for 2 weeks and when I complained he sent me a picture of a truck that had a broken axle. Then told me he had to switch to a new transport company. He claims to have sent an email to me explaining that my new cost was $1,200 upon delivery. It is a classic bait and switch. He never mentioned the new cost even though we talked.
