Today I felt the need to look up this grooming spot for two reasons . One : I have been coming to both old and new location for a few years now . My dog needed to be sedated in order to get groomed despite my bill between the vet fee and the grooming itself adding up to be be $130(grooming) + $45-$50( sedation ) , it has been worth it . My dog snoopy was always treated well and always came back to me as a handsome pup . My dog was never hurt during grooming and I was always pleased with his haircuts . He always smelled amazing . The products used on my lhasa never caused my dog any redness or infection . His nails were also trimmed perfectly . Over all my dog was given back to me looking on point . I have no complaints . Two : both Jeniffer and Michael have always treated me well along with other customers that's I've witness . Well spoken , never rude . On March 7th I had to put my dog down and had to actually cancel my usually appointment and they took the time to send me a card saying they were sorry for my loss . I have been so upset but after reading there card I said to myself wow they actually thought about us and that made me feel good . So thank you reliable grooming for your services and your kindness . I know you guys sell puppies here and I will be back to get my dog from you guys ! read more

This place was incredibly fake from the very beginning. My husband and I were expecting a lot more then what we received. Our dog was done being groomed in about 45 minutes, which made us a bit suspicious because we usually wait between 2-3 hours in other places. When we came to pick our dog up I wanted to make sure that a proper job was done and that everything was taken care of, since it was literally only 45 minutes? At that point, he looked at me like I was asking a question in a foreign language. We overlooked his facial expression and provided him with the Groupon we purchased, he then tells us that the Groupon we purchased for $22 was only for a bath, brush and nail clipping. We didn't make a big deal out of it and decided to just pay full price then... He tells us $70 for a grooming! I told him the Groupon is $22, so for a haircut alone, it's an additional $48? We just couldn't wait to get out, the place was so unprofessional and certainly not welcoming with new customers. From all our years of grooming we never had to pay more then $55 for grooming. This place is a nightmare, stay away! On top of that the grooming was horrible and there were scratches on my dog. read more

It's unfortunate that I was forced to write this. I had gone to Reliable Grooming for about 8-9 years and now the relationship has come to an end. I took my dogs a couple of months ago to be groomed. I admit, I do not brush them as I should and therefore they have to be shaved down. But, that's why i take them to be groomed. That's why I pay for someone else to help me out. My dog was shaved down like a rat, which is fine. But his harness was not tightened. When I picked my dogs up one of them slipped out of his harness and ran into Crossbay Blvd. Luckily, a bus saw him and waited for me to get him. Michael, the groomer did nothing but sit in his chair. Did not come out to help. Eventually one of the kids they have working in the back came to the doorway and asked if i got the dog. Yeah, I got my dog. After my dog went into the car I was able to tighten his harness. No apology was given. I was just told to calm down and be grateful nothing happened to him and then was given "advice" about what collars to get so that my dog is not able to slip out. I paid my bill and left, still fuming, but not having any arguments. Needless to say, I no longer feel comfortable for the safety of my animals since no attempt to help me was offered. I wasn't even looking for a comped grooming or anything. Just some help getting him back off the blvd. Well, today i get a call from Jennifer confirming my appointment for this weekend. I told her that I was not coming in and that I would no longer be coming in because of what happened. I explained to her what happened and she was soooo apologetic. But it was not her fault at all, she wasn't even there at that time and i told her there were no hard feelings. I explained it's like when you take your kid to school you hope that the teachers will step in when they need help. We said our goodbyes and I thought that was the end of it. Only a minute later do i get a call from Michael, the groomer, and he came in HOT. I explained to him i wasn't trying to cause any issues and that all i did was cancel my appointment. To which he replied with, " You told Jennifer it was my responsibility to tighten the harness and that you don't feel safe bringing them here anymore." I said, "Well, you didn't tighten the harness and he was shaved down like a rat". "He was shaved down because YOU don't brush them. The harness is the harness, that's the size", he said (something to that effect). (Fyi, I was able to tighten his harness when i got him in the car) "Right, I pay to get that done. Why are you making a stink about this? I haven't done anything but cancel my appointment". Some other things were said that are just not important and I got an abrupt "take care" and goodbye and a hang up. I would not have said anything nor written this negative review if it had not been for that angry phone call. I'm not trying to ruin anyone's business. I'm just not that person. But it was just uncalled for. Before you call someone who made a complaint, take a minute, step back, control your emotions and then call them. I'm not sure what was even the point of calling to do that. It wouldn't have made me keep the appointment if anything it just made me retract from the shop even more. So sad it had to end this way. read more

I have been bringing my dogs to Reliable Grooming for about a year and a half now. I have tried more grooming salons that I just can't count on one hand that could not get a Westie and puppy Maltese hair cut correct. At Reliable Grooming they understood actually what I was asking for. My dogs had a show dog hair cut, especially my Westie. The prices are great and you can always tell how special your pet feels when they walk out with their tail and ears straight up. I literally made this account just to leave this review - I'm the helicopter dog mom who is over protective of my two boys. They used to use a groomer on Pitkin but they kept cutting my dog then I tried a mobile groomer and it was the same problem. Not minor knicks that you would expect, but large scrapes from being reckless with the buzzer. When I started taking my boys to Reliable Grooming I loved it & I used them for a couple of years because they didn't cut them, they didn't come home stressed out, and they always gave them boy haircuts and not that fluffy shit they leave on other dogs ears. I also know for a fact that my dogs are submissive when being groomed because they have grown up with me grooming them at home but I didn't have the time to always groom two dogs so I took them here. My puppy will just lie down and sleep while you trim his hair. Every time they go to a doctor to get their ears cleaned or nails cut, they always rave about how still they stay. They will even jump in the bathtub when they want to take a bath. About a year ago, my boys started coming home extremely stressed out. They would come home groggy and my younger puppy would not let my older dog step away from him for a second. For days no matter where he went, my puppy would follow him and would not stop touching him. Like a weird, lying on top of him touching. And my older dog would not stop crying. I figured maybe it was a onetime thing so they went back a few more times but it just kept happening every time. They act like they were drugged and coming off of it. They went from coming home fine to being really fucked up. I really loved this place but I legit think they drug dogs here without your consent. And if it's not drugs then they definitely did something to my dogs to make them start behaving like this. It was so bad that I had to buy buzzers and I started cutting their hair on my own. I would never take my boys back to this place. And if you choose to use their services, then pay real close attention to your dog when you bring them home. read more

I recently brought my 4 month old puppy in for his first grooming. I was nervous about leaving him for the first time but was quickly reassured when I dropped him off for his appointment. I met with Michael, the owner, of the shop. Michael was very caring & knowledgeable. He even gave me tips on what to do in between groomings. When I picked my puppy up, he was happy & smelled great. I simply love this place.....everyone that works there is so nice and respectful and most of all so caring towards animals..... they even give me a reminder call each month for her appt..
