(Purchase was made on May 28, 2023) I am giving this place one star because of the following reasons: call me crazy, idc! After years of wanting a puppy, I finally found a place (or so I thought) to get my little four legged baby. I walked in and all I saw were faces that said "I wanna go home with you" but I fell in love with the one that was quiet and just sitting there alone. I was instantly distracted. A store person (her name is Helen) approached us, and started asking if we were interested in a pet. So my bf said "yes" and then asked how much the one I was looking at was, to which she responded "$2100". Still too much to put a price on a forever baby. Nevertheless, we still got him. We then asked how much the other puppies were, to which she replied "$2200-$2500" we settled on a Shihtzu. We started filling out the paperwork, (owing to my excitement, I'll be the first to say it was an oversight on my part) she wrote my bill up for $2500. Plus $222, in taxes because it's NY, why not?! She never went over that my baby had a cold and were on meds. Never told me that. She recommended a vet on lefferts Blvd (the nasiest place you've ever seen. But that's another review). After coming home with my baby, taking him to the vet to get examed, I was told he had a cold, and needed meds. The store gave me food for my puppy and he didn't like it, and couldn't chew it. He also refused to drink water. We Found a new vet that I'm comfortable with and my new little baby is comfortable with as well, and we do the tests, and now I find out that not only does my baby have a cold, my baby is sick, he has parasites that are transmissible to humans. So, now He's on meds and is barely eating, and barely drinking water. I've spent the better part of the last three days crying and worrying for my sweet baby. He's such a good baby. So now we're not only out the charge for the puppy, but we've now spent close to $600.00 for vet visits and meds, and constantly having to change his food. I am also out the amount for training classes, since he's sick. I swear, the sales associate Helen was only interested in her commission. She even hid my credit card and ID after processing my payment. I has to ask her for my card and ID. She thought I didn't see it! The guy was nice. But other than that, I'm not recommending this place to anyone. Helen will lie to you and when she gets caught, she'll deny it! Let's not mention, when I called the store back, she didn't want to give me her name. She was rude and off putting. Had this been another customer, they would have taken their purchase back to the store and fought for the price they were told, and fought to return their pet. But within minutes of seeing him, I fell in love, and instantly attached. It broke my heart to see him there quietly just waiting for me to love him. He looked so sad, and lonely. He is now playing, and chewing on everything. And like a good baby, he's using his wee wee pads. read more

Our puppy died from Parvovirus 2 days after we brought him home from this store. The owner was horribly rude and refused to give us a refund or cover our vet bill. Although we believe in pet adoption, my daughter made the tragic mistake of purchasing a puppy from Puppy Paws. My kids were overjoyed when we brought home this little bundle of joy, a Lhasa Apso-Shi Tzu mix, so we just had to keep him. We named our adorable new puppy Marley. We had sweet Marley at our home for 2 days and everyone fell in love with him. The he started vomiting and having diarrhea uncontrollably. We took our beloved puppy to the vet right away but it was too late to save him. Marley had to be put to sleep because of a terrible case of Parvovirus. When we called the store the owner Boris gave us the runaround and said "this wasn't their first time at the rodeo" meaning he had dealt with the death of puppies on numerous occasions. Boris told us to take him to court to get a refund rather than having the decency to refund the $3000 we paid within 10 days as required by New York State Law. The callousness of this store and its owner is unbelievable. My kids are crying their eyes out over the loss of their puppy, and now we have to face the ordeal of a lengthy trial. To avoid total heartbreak, do not buy a puppy from this terrible store. They sell low quality, sick puppies from puppy mills. Agree with some of the prior reviews about the shady pricing practices. Quotes of $1400, $1600, and $2000 were mentioned in earlier reviews even as recent as this year. However we showed up during COVID-19 and the puppies were $3600. This is outrageous as even the higher end breeders are selling for ballpark $2000-$2500. And with a breeder you can get extra details about parents, temperament, and weight. Too bad price gouging on puppies during the pandemic would be hard to prove. read more

Just like their pricing on puppies, they throw any dollar amount out there and hope it sticks. The girls in there aren't professional at all and it's basically a free for all. Came here to purchase Gucci in April 2020. Gucci is a female maltipoo extra cute when we first met her. Tanzeen Boris Oscar are very knowledgeable and very caring towards the puppies there. Big shout out to the managers and the owners they are the best, they truly care about the puppies they sell. I had an earlier issue that Gucci wasn't eating at home and she had diarrhea but the owner and manager made sure she was okay. And they even took her in for a few days to make sure she was eating. Even when we brought her back home they would always call and FaceTime me to check up on Gucci. This is my first puppy I'm not sure if other puppy shops provide continued support months after you buy your puppy. I had went in a few weeks ago just too see what puppies they were selling , I called ahead of time to ask if I can touch them and interact with them before hand and a very nice women over the phone said of course I can. When I went in the two guys that were working there were disgusting. They were like constantly yelling not to put fingers in and spreading lies about how the puppies will get sick. They sold a puppy to my son and did not provide him AKC paperwork. They knew he didn't know better. I tried calling them today and now they're avoiding me. All I asked for is the AKC paperwork so I can resell it. Called in the morning spoke with the "manager" who asked me to call her in the afternoon. When I first walked in there she tried to sell me a dog for $1,500. When I walked in with my fiancé she tried to sell me the same dog for $2,000, RIDICULOUS! If she sees you are desperate for a dog she will try to swindle you for extra cash! How fucked up is that?! My finance picked out this Morkie puppy, and at check out she Lies to our face and says the puppy is up to date with the vaccines but when I went home there was no paperwork that could reflect her statement. BY MONDAY night my sister picks up the puppy and realized she has FLEAS! My fiancé and I could not believe this store had just sold us a puppy which came out to a total of $2,000 with fleas! Again! SUPER FUCKED UP. Tuesday we take her to the vet, and it turns out NOT only did she have a ton of fleas, she also had parasites! When I called Wednesday Morning to let them know what was going on with the puppy the "I'm not a manager" of course told me nothing could be done until the next Monday because she wasn't authorized to give me a refund, but you're authorized to take 2K from individuals, huh? The dogs were going for 2800 ... my son really liked one of the dogs one of the ladies that work there the one with red hair walked over to us and said the dog my son was playing with cost 3200. ***BUYER BEWARE*** This pet store does not operate in good faith. I wanted to buy a young dog for my family and Puppy Paws knowingly sold me a sick puppy. The puppy had several contagious medical conditions that I found out about when I took the puppy to a 2nd "Independent" Veterinarian. The 1st Vet was trash!! According to the New York State Lemon Law the purchaser has 14 business days to notify the pet store and rectify the issue. The Puppy Paws owner refused to live up to the lawful agreement he is authorized to abide by once I took the puppy back to the store. We are currently awaiting a court date to resolve the situation since the owner refused to take back the puppy. Please be advised that in addition to taking the owner/Puppy Paws to court you should file a complaint with the New York State Attorney General office like I did. That helps keep these businesses in check when they violate the law. It's a 5 minute process. Hopefully this review will help stop someone else from getting a sick and contagious puppy. read more

They sell poor puppies with DEADLY VIRUSES SUCH AS PARVO On Monday December 19, approximately around 12:00 PM, I came into this pet store and purchased a female purebreed pug who was born October 23rd 2016, we were reassured multiple times upon asking if she was vet checked, fully vaccinated, up to date with shots, and healthy. They offered us a free vet visit to their veterinarian or gave us the option to use our own veterinarian to double check the health of the puppy. I came home with my beautiful baby girl pug who I named Lilly, she was the most precious little baby anybody would be lucky to have. Sadly as the night went on and into the morning she started with diarrhea, vomiting, nose felt hot, she kept sneezing, she did this thing where we thought were hiccups but later on turned out that she was having a breathing problem, and she wasn't eating or drinking when the morning came. She would occasionally play but within 20 minutes she was back to sleep. The next morning on Tuesday December 20th 2016, we took her to Verge Veterinary Emergency Hospital located at 318 Warren St Brooklyn, New York, making it not even 24 hours of having her and within the first few minutes of being there the vet technician told us she had a 103 fever and her heart rate was beating extremely fast. When doctor Sara Rosen finally came in to examine Lilly thoroughly we found out Lilly was having a lot of pain in her stomach, her skull hasn't fully developed between her eyes on top of her head causing her to have a soft spot which is called molera so you would have to be very fragile with her head until her skull closed, and she was having severe breathing problems. The doctor rushed to get her blood work and told us there was a chance that Lilly might have a virus called Parvo which can be extremely deadly for dogs especially puppies and to her specific breed, she also wanted to take x-rays of her entire body to get a good look at what was going on. After 45 minutes of waiting for the results the doctor calls us back in and told us the test for parvo came back positive. Dr. Rosen explains Lilly would have to be hospitalized and given treatments as soon as possible for 3-5 days or 2 weeks depending on how well she responded to treatment. She tells us even if she received treatment there was a chance that Lilly wouldn't be strong enough to pull through any of this meaning she could die. Heartbroken and truly devastated from hearing this horrible news we sadly had to bring my baby back to where we purchased her due to the circumstances. Before we went back to Puppy Paws we spoke to man named Boris and we tell him we returning Lilly, we want a full refund and money back for cost of the vet hospital bill. Boris response was, they are not responsible to pay for the vet bill just to give her a full refund for the puppy. We were now on our way back to the store and when we get there they were rude, disrespectful, and heartless telling us how the vet is lying Lilly was not dying or extremely sick. Instead of taking her to a hospital for being extremely contagious and sick they just threw her into a crate in the back of the store. Lilly was suppose to start treatment as soon as possible if not she will not have a chance to survive more than 3-4 days and can start to become dehydrated being that she stopped drinking and eating and because she was throwing up and had diarrhea. They even refused to look at the test results and documents we received from the vet showing proof she was sick. They shouldn't be allowed to sell puppies especially put them at risk the way they are doing due to the fact Parvo is very contagious. I pray to God they watch over Lilly and she gets the treatment and the care that she truly needs. I had a friend of mine stop by Wednesday the 21st, asking for a pug and there she was. They were willing to resell Lilly knowing she is sick. Instead of getting the medical attention she needs she is still there and being sold to the public. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!.... This place sells sick dogs and they do not disclose this with the buyers. I recently bought. 4m old Frenchie who has a bacterial infection on his skin which they covered up as dog play, also upon his Vet visit a week later because he was throwing up everyday, not eating the food they recommended, did not want to even drink water. His stool was really soft and had clear goo and blood on it which the Vet described as Hookworm infection inside his body which is attached to his large and small intestine eating away at the poor dogs insides, also was detected with two other parasites in his body from the stool sample we took to the Vet. They have been treating him since January of 2022 giving him deworming medication and the parasites have yet to be cleared from his body. Which they failed to mention or disclose it at sale time. He also lost 3 teeth on the 10th and 11th day of ownership. Upon contacting the Owner "Boris", he tries to give me his speech about being in this business for 20yrs, "IDK how they haven't shut him down yet" and tries to persuade me to keeping the dog because after 14days you cant claim a refund and because what he has is treatable and not in breach on the consumer contract, meanwhile it states that if taken to the vet of your choice or theirs "FYI" (don't take it to any of their recommended VET find your own) and the dog is diagnosed with any illness etc etc within the 14 day period and notified the store and owner about it you're entitled to a full refund. He does not abide by the contract tries to talk you in to staying with the dog, does not work anything out once you try to ask for your money back and goes on to saying "Take me to court" BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!! If I could give 0 stars I would. They do not care for the puppy's well being, they are only about money. We purchased a puppy less than a week ago, and we were told she was healthy. Two days later we see the vet and find out she has more than 3 medical issues. We have called the store asking what they could do because they knew she was sick prior to us purchasing her since, as an employee told us, our puppy was taken to many vets the same day and week we gave a deposit ,yet when we purchased her we were given no information. When we picked up our new puppy, an employee was cleaning her ears and when we asked what was in her ears they told us it was normal but the vet told us it was ear mites. In the store they had told us that she was the calmest puppy there but the reason for that was all of her medical issues and the amount of pain she is in. In the agreement it said for a medical condition store reimburses the purchase price, we didn't want to bring that puppy back to make her condition worse and to prevent further spreading to other puppies, yet the store reused to even partially reimburse us of the price that we paid. Telling my kids and family members that we have a sick dog caused lots of trauma and we blame puppy paws for selling us a sick dog. I purchased 2 Pomeranians from this store in November 2013 I spent $2400 and I did receive free bowls and food and pads to start off. First off they are very expensive and they do get there initial shots but I spent $300 alone getting the rest of shots. One of my pups were very sick for a month. Bought a Yorkie in this store a month ago. A day later the dog was coughing. The vet they told us to go to, said it was kennel cough. He has been on 3 antibiotics ever since. Nothing has helped! We have called the store 7 different times concerning this matter. The owner named Boris of course does not call back! I was hesitant to buy a dog in this store in the first place because of bad reviews and I should have listened to my gut! Still trying to see what defect this dog has?? Because I do not think this is kennel cough! I refuse to pay for anymore vet exams and medications. Hes coughing and choking 24/7. If he has a congenital defect..i want my 3k+ back!! Just bought a puppy a week ago, two days after bringing the dog into our home she started to vomit first then constantly having diarrhea consistently for hours at first we didn't think it would be nothing dangerous but it started reoccurring the same day in the evening and throughout the whole night! It really started to concern my fiancé and I. We would try to feed her give her boiled chicken and nothing would hold her stomach. She would throw it back out or vomit everything. So concerned that in the morning puppy paws told us bring the dog in and we'll take her to the vet with you but they just took it on their on and never called us or gave us any updates. When the time came to speak to them they said the dog was dehydrated. Giving us the same story over and over. Now we have a dog back at home that is now 2 years old and he has parvovirus. Which isn't far to us. We so sad that they would have the audacity to sell a unfit dog to us and probably many other people who have been lied to and devastated. We now have to rush our 2 year old dog and send him to the ER! Please do not buy a dog from puppy paw . We have to close this store down or More people will be rip off and more Dogs suffer read more

I'm changing my review. Though I don't like the whispering going on between workers as if they are up to something and their prices are pretty high, the lady I did buy my puppy from tried to help me. I was very upset because they sold me a cage that was entirely too small for a lot of money (that I could've gotten from Walmart for twice as less) and despite the box still being closed they would not refund which now means I have to trade it and spend even wayyyy more money for a bigger one. The tall heavy set was very disrespectful but the one i purchased from tried to help but couldn't. Please don't waste your money or time grooming or buying a pet from this place. They have sick dogs which they put up for sale and when grooming other pets they get sick from the dogs they're selling. Kennel cough is highly contagious!!! Even if your pet is vaccinated. I just spent so much money In the vet for the second time and my poor dog is so sick he isn't even eating. Please be aware of what is going on!!! Great store, maintained and was very clean. I got a miniature schnauzer from this place and was able to get a lot of supplies no cost, they gave me a puppy package. I was working with the sales guy named Joe who was able to help me pick out the right dog since I am allergic and schnauzer's are hypoallergenic. Giving the place a 3 star review but will change it once I come back for grooming. read more

Puppy Pass has been a nightmare. We purchase an adorable Maltese for $3,800 and unfortunately the puppy was sick 2 days later after arriving home. After spending hun dress of dollars they have turn there face and ignore my request for at at least vests espenses. Do not call in their trap. read more
