I get my dog groomed regularly here by Bea. My dog is a Papatzu (Papillion-Shih Tzu mix), and if she isn't groomed regularly she looks like she should be taken away for neglect. They are able to squeeze my dog in on short notice-I called once and they told me that they could accommodate her immediately. They are affordable and more than efficient. The owner Tina and her employees are all great! They are caring and tentative. My baby always looks her best when I pick her up. Grooming appts are usually up to 4 hrs due to it not being an express groomer who tend to charge a bit more. I appreciate the time it takes to make my girl look so good. She can be a terror for nail clipping but they always get it done without stressing my baby. I understand that giving a haircut to a moving target can be difficult and time consuming but I appreciate Tina's team taking their time to make sure my baby has the best experience. Their clientele is large so getting an appt seems difficult in busy seasons especially around the holidays so I make sure to call at least a month or a few weeks in advance of the appt day I want as the groomers book up quickly. Just picked up my boys 7 year old (shitzu / yorkie mix) and 13 year old (shitzu). After having our last groomer injure our 13 year old (stabbed in eye with scissors) we were scared to bring him anywhere. His face gets very crusty from eating and I was not comfortable doing it myself. I had gone to Dog & Cat house a while ago and didn't remember anything negative (groomer that injured dog just came to our house - so we tried her out) so I took them back. I let the woman at the front desk know about his experience, worried he may not behave and allow them to touch his face. But when I returned to pick them up the groomer "B" said they were Angels and our 13 year old gave her absolutely NO trouble at all!!! I was so relieved! MY DOG GOT TICKS FROM THIS PLACE!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I've been a loyal customer to Dog and Cat house for some time now. I take my dog, Dolce, and my grandmothers dog, Benji to get groomed every couple of months. On Saturday, we took our dogs to the Dog and Cat house. When we got home, my grandmothers dog, Benji, had ticks ALL OVER! HE WAS CRAWLING WITH THEM! Benji is a pure white Bichon Frise, and his skin is pretty pink. We would have noticed if Benji was crawling with ticks, or if he was itchy before he left to the groomers as he is always by my grandmothers side. He never leaves the house, even to use the bathroom he uses a wee-wee pad in the house...Even when we took him to the groomers he was carried from the house to the car, then to the groomers! His feet never touch the outside floor! Now, I understand that things happen and these are the risks we take with having our dogs go to the groomers. But whoever I spoke to on the phone immediately said that he didn't get it from there and that is was impossible that Benji would have gotten ticks from there. NEWSFLASH: Its a groomer. Dogs come and go. Some of them may have ticks. Whoever I spoke to kept denying it could have been from there. Then they proceeded to tell me that they can't help me...how about referring me to a doctor? Giving me a discount on my next trip (as if I'd go back) or even getting me a damn flea shampoo or something. Nothing. I'm so disgusted by them and disappointed that I now have to find another groomer. Not to mention my grandmother is really upset about it all. Even just an apology would have sufficed. Please don't take your dogs here. It's obvious its only about the money for them. **They called me back to offer a tick bath. Too little too late. No thank you. read more

Horrible customer service, they were complaining that my dog barks to much, these were their exact words "Oh okay we are going to put her for 10:30am and try to get her out as fast as possible because she barks to much when I leave" that's nothing you tell an owner. The time and care they took with my pup was amazing. They are super friendly and had my puppy smelling soooooooo good. Please Cancel Max's Jan 26th 11 am Appt. I can't continue to go back and forth every 5 weeks on how to groom my dog. I have had him there more than a dozen+ times for you not to know what HIS CUT is. NO he doesn't want 2.5" long Groucho Marks eyebrows when the rest of his head is 1" long, NO he doesn't want his eyebrows SHAVED so short (to the skin) that causes sores where his eyebrow whiskers come out. Causing me to have to take him to the vet and get a cone because he would not stop scratching the itching scabs and re-injuring them daily. (He still has the black scars on his eyebrows from where the scabs used to be) NO he is not a Walrus and want a Walrus face cut. It is so simple as simple as the hair stylist I go to that I have been there so many times I just sit down and don't say a word they know MY CUT. Max has two cuts SUMMER and WINTER and the difference is about 1 inch due to the difference in temp. But his cut is full body, length balanced and the same from head to tail (other than ears,feet and tail shaping). Every cut is a new adventure of something different and I have to custom request this and that every time so it doesn't happen. I need a groomer who after 2 cuts all I have to do is say Summer or Winter and its done. I live fairly far away and rather than drive an hour home, sit an hour and then drive an hour back to the groomer making Max wait I just sit in my car and wait for him. (2 years now EVERY 5 WEEKS). I tried the drive back and forth the first time asking for a 30-45 min warning when he would be done and the call came saying he was done, no warning. So he sat in a cage that additional time while I drove back due to instruction request not followed. I pay a decent price for his cut , have always tipped even if I didn't like the cut which seems to be a third of the time due to the inconsistency of the cuts. I missed an appointment (my mistake, mix up) and I paid for the groom full price anyways because I took a slot they saved for me and time is $$$ and that's fair. The people are nice always but they just cant seem to dial in MY DOGS cut and his need. I have had good cuts from here (About 60-70%) but it is not consistent. This last final cut he was fine from the neck down but literally other than shaping his ears he still had a full walrus face and the hair on the top of his head easily still 3+" long curling down and back into his eyes. She knew I was not happy with the head cut and offered to take him back in but after sitting nearly 4 hrs I was not going back into my car to sit and wait longer. I have said what I wanted for him for two years straight as well as how I wanted his face when arriving today so it just became apparent I was NEVER going to get the cut I requested.. I mean how many times or adjustments have to be made before you can dial it in? Why take it upon yourself to constantly decide how you want my dog to look when I tell you how I want him. I took him home and cut his head myself. It was a bit choppy but not bad for someone without any grooming experience. At least my dog's head, mouth and eyebrows will finally be the length I wanted. In fairness I brought him here because my other dog was a customer here his entire life (11 years) and the cut was perfect every time. I don't know why Max is not the same. Anyways its a bad experience with him and I just cant do it any more. read more

THIS IS THE WORST PLACE TO TAKE YOUR PET. I have taken my dog here multiple times trying to get the groomer to follow directions for what I wanted my dog to look like. And every time they chop ALL HER HAIR OFF BALD. The first time I thought it was my fault cause she had a few knots. But then tried again. The next time they made up another excuse. I specifically asked to keep my dogs hair long and they literally shaved off all her hair. They do not know how to listen and follow directions and they also don't know how to groom. Every time my dog comes back she has random long hairs that don't make any sense and they leave her hair looking all chunky and botched. One of her ears are longer than the other. She also has all these nicks and cuts that she would have if they didn't shave her hair off. If that's dog grooming then I guess I could also charge $60-$80 and cut dog hair for a living. So upset. My first time was great and they did a great job. However, my subsequent visits got worse. I called to make an appointment and got an older Lady who screamed in the phone and came off "nasty". She had told me cause my dog was a pit bull mix that I had to put her in the tub and she had to be picked up right away cause she was a pit. I explained to her that I did that the first time and was told that my dog was no issue for the next visit. The lady replied "well she's a pit" that's why. My third attempt to make an appointment was the same nasty screaming lady. Ever time I gave her my availability it was "hold on" then wait 2 minutes. Give her a time and got "hold on" then waited 3 minutes. Well apparently I had to go on their time cause I have a pit and was now told that my dog had aggressive issues. I am not sure how the person that picks up the phone can't make an appointment is good costumer service. Then the back and forth makes me believe they are either not upfront or they just like giving you the run away. My dog isn't big maybe 30lbs and just over a year. She isn't full pit and we aren't even sure of the pit. We've never had aggressive issues or have been told that she has them. read more
