This is the WORST moving company ever!!!!! They had moved me about a year ago between two subdivisions that you could easily walk across and I thought their price then was quite high but I used them again to move me from a Princeton address to a Skillnan address literarily an 8 minute drive; now this is the worst experience I ever had. First of all the owner had an estimate of $4,500 to move my two bedroom town home. The supervisor as far as I am concerned who is a "CON" man had connived with the owner to the point that I ended paying $6900 this is excluding tip for each person that moved. A job that should have been completed in one day was done in two days just because the supervisor wanted me to pay more period. Meanwhile he had told me that the move on the second day would not cost me additional money but at the end he made me pay an additional $1,000.00 !!!! I called the owner but he would not call back. The guys who did the moving itself were good guys but the SUPERVISOR and the OWNER are complete CON guys!!! Stay away from this company !!! They are not honest at all !!!!! You do not start with an estimate of $4,500 and end up paying $6,900 and the job was done in two days (which is no fault of yours) yet you are charged an additional cost!! We had an excellent experience with Princeton Van Service. They were recommended by friends who had just used their service. They came on time, worked constantly all day and were very careful and considerate. We had a huge quantity to move which took 2 days and they were fabulous. Nothing was broken all furniture was protected as were the floors in each of the houses ( old house and new house). We were totally impressed with the owner and crew. We used 3 trucks and had a five person crew each day. Totally satisfied and impressed. We have recommended them to friends who are planning a June move. read more

I used Princeton Van Service to move out of one home and into two-one of which was out of state. They staff was patient and did an amazing job sorting the furniture and household items so they ended up in the correct location! They picked up my additional furniture In storage and drove it to Delaware.They worked steadily nonstop through the day into the evening. The workers were courteous, friendly, and obliging. This is the 4th time I have used the services of Princeton Van Movers. I highly recommend this company for your moving needs. Lou, the owner, and his crew are professional, polite, efficient and strong. A friend recommended them to me after her positive moving experience with them and has used them on her 2 additional moves! We are obviously very pleased with their care and attention to our household items. I had a very large house with some valuable dinnerware that was extra carefully packed to prevented breakage. Large pieces of art were and a baby grand piano were packed in special containers appropriate for shape and protection. Due closing needs, we needed to have everything stored for several wks, which Princeton Van provided. Needless to say, I recommend Princeton Van Service without reservation. Would never use them again! The price after the move was complete was several hundred dollars more than the original quote. In addition, they only notified me they accept cash the day of the move and I had to run to the bank to withdraw a ridiculous amount of money. Worst moving company. Dont use them. I think most reviews are fake. I hired them based on reviews. Moving date they arrived 3 hrs late. Moving was very slow. We were moving only 10 miles and yet they went overtime, this was after us moving a lot of stuff ourselves. They scratched our newly stained floors, dinged walls, scratched and dinged furniture, even lost furniture pieces. They also managed to tear 3/4 inch rubber mat that weighed 100 lbs. They sent someone to fix missing furniture piece and patch walls, but who the hell is gng to paint them. He did not fix a ding thats over 12 ft high on the wall. Owner refuses to acknowledge the floor scratch and dinged stuff. Unbelievable!! Worst thing is before they came in they already mentioned they might go overtime and what overtime rate is gng to be. And they were asking for tips before they started. They used 5 guys and still went overtime. Also bcoz they were gng very slow, i asked them to leave boxes in the garage, and yet they went overtime. Company is ripoff. Do urself a favour and dont hire them. read more

We had this company move us from Plainsboro to Princeton last month. From my first phone call to Lisa at the office to the last item being placed in my home, the move was so easy and efficient. The movers arrived on time, got right to work and continued to work all day until the last item was placed in my new home. They were neatly dressed and presented themselves professionally. The poor reviews surprise me. They helped us move a few years ago within Princeton NJ, and they stored a bunch of things for us for several years as well. They just brought all the antiques up to New England, including a baby grand piano in the pouring rain Friday night, set it all up for us, then turned around and drove 5 hours back to NJ. I noticed I had forgotten to cancel my auto-pay for the storage unit, I left a message on their voicemail about it, and within a week they sent a check back to me. I had the pleasure of using Princeton Van Service for our move from Florida to Long Island NY. We searched for a company that was recommended by our friends as well as good online reviews. We contacted several major carriers and decided to use PVS for our moving needs. What a great decision it was. They were on time, presented well. Let us know that their might be a slight upcharge due to us underestimating what we actually had for furniture and how much room it would take on the truck. Which we agreed to before they touched one thing. They had our entire 3 bedroom house packed and loaded in 5 hours. They told us it would take approx 3 days to arrive and they were actually earlier then we were from flying. Unloaded us quickly and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the guys who packed us were the same ones who were unloading is. Nothing broken except a clock. But that was something we packed poorly and didn't mark fragile. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a quality and efficient moving company. read more

This company is horrible. After holding my items in storage for two months, PVS moved us into our new home. During the move I kept my fine jewelry with me. After we were about moved in, I put my suitcase with my jewelry into the house. A month later I checked my jewelry cases in my closet. They were empty. This company is dishonest and worthless. Used them twice.....first move excellent, second move a total nightmare. When they showed up they started b telling me that I had the really fast crew and then proceeded to tell me that they work for cash. I had every intention of tipping well for a job well done. They were not professional, sloppy, not careful with m furniture and and only worried about getting a cash tip. If you use them be aware that they never have the same crew twice and watch they continually if you want everything you move to be in your house when they leave. I used a larger company several times and believe me it was worth the extra money. Beware of this company! read more

The move was scheduled for 8am. When scheduling the move, we are told they cannot guarantee 8am sharp but will be there between 8am and 9am. Sounds reasonable, and we plan our day accordingly (business meetings, etc.) We call them at 9am when they have not shown up and we have not heard anything from them. They say the driver didn't show up and they'll be there within the hour, by 10am. Two men show up with a truck a little after 10am. The driver says he was pulled off of another job because the driver assigned to my move didn't show up. The truck is huge and can't fit around to the back of the building, where my apartment is. There were supposed to be 2 hand-truck trollies on the truck, but there was only one. So they end up having to carry most of my stuff out the back, around the building, onto the truck. We help them load a good fraction of my stuff. Shortly after we get to my new place (20 minutes away), another truck shows up with three additional men. Javier, the manager, takes us aside and asks us for approval to charge us extra for the extra men, to get the move done faster, since if it takes longer than 4 hours the cost goes up considerably. We actually have to negotiate down to the original price we were quoted despite our dissatisfaction with them arriving late with inadequate equipment (only one trolly) and us having to help with the loading. While the quote was for a 4-hour minimum, the move really should have taken significantly less than 4 hours; 3 hours maximum. (I have effectively 4 items of furniture, and then a lot of boxes which are easy to move with a trolly.) Javier does keep the extra men on the job and does not charge us for them, and they finish shortly before 2pm. Needless to say, we had to reschedule our meetings for the afternoon. While I'm still in the process of unpacking, as best as I can tell, everything is here. The movers were rough with my stuff, and the cardboard of multiple boxes got damaged, but it looks like everything inside the boxes survived, thanks to careful packing. This was my first time using Princeton Van Service, and it will be my last. I have had much better experience with my previous moves (such as using Brother Movers to move 90 minutes from Chester County, PA to Central NJ). I don't understand how a professional moving company can't reliably equip its employees with basic equipment to get a move done quickly, such as hand trucks, stair trollies, and moving trucks the appropriate size for a given move. With a smaller truck, they could have pulled right up to both places and put a ramp from the truck directly to the front door, and then with a couple trollies, my stuff could have been handled more gently and moved much more quickly, without the need for any extra men. I also can't help but wonder that if they reliably equipped their employees with such basic but helpful technology so they wouldn't have to bust their backs carrying everything by hand, perhaps their truck drivers would show up when scheduled and their customers could get moved on time. I can't say they stole, because that would be defamatory, but they charge cash and I took out money from the bank and put it in my wallet and when I went to pay them the money was gone, and it was wrapped around the withdrawal slip. Now I don't know what else is missing and I'm sick to my stomach. And they didn't wrap upholstered furniture and got dirty marks on chairs, etc. read more

They were an hour late, but the 3 men were friendly and diligent. When they arrived, I was told they only accept cash. I called the office, and the lady there said that was indeed correct and it was a "state law". The owner, Lou, who took my reservation a month ago, never mentioned cash-only payment of course. So I had to scramble to an ATM to gather $700 in cash while they moved my stuff. Not sure what "state law" they were quoting, but just beware. read more

After explaining that I was recovering from back surgery over the next few months and needed a moving company to move boxes from a temporary apartment to what seemed like a very nice person, I reserved a time slot with Princeton Van Service 4 to 6 weeks ago. I confirmed the time and received a reservation code soon after the call. I was told that I would have 3 movers, and there would be no issues. Well, I guess there won't be issues if the company doesn't show up (yes, sarcasm). Today was the day of the reservation as we needed to be out of the corporate apartment. I called them in the morning to confirm the start time but nobody answered. I left a message. Nobody returned my call. I made several calls throughout the day but to no avail. Finally, after an hour past the start time (just in case they were running late and trying to give them the benefit of the doubt), I contacted a local truck rental company who was able to rent me a truck for the day. By the way, it's now 2.5 hours passed the start time and still no call back. Very frustrating for a number of reasons and an inexcusable way to do business. read more

Three years ago, I used these guys to move a 100 year old baby grand piano and was extremely happy. So much so, that fast forward to today, I contacted them to move it again for me with an extra couch and love seat. My email estimate request went ignored, but i gave the benefit of the doubt understanding that sometimes written communication can be forgotten and called them over a month later when I really needed to move my belongings. Due to my prior satisfaction, after calling them for the estimate, I contracted them without price shopping elsewhere. $635 to move the three items was a bit steep, but I was so satisfied with the service and care I received last time, I was willing to pay it. I received not only an email with the details of my move, which was scheduled for today between 8am and 9 am with the promise of a call an hour before arrival, but I also got a confirmation number. Here we are today, and 7am comes, no hour before arrival call comes. Then came 730, 8, 9... 11am. I called the office numerous times and left voice mail. I sent email. I even called the cell phone listed for the owner in my contract email and left a message asking for a call back with an eta. I wasn't angry, just annoyed. It is now 4:35pm and I haven't heard a peep back. Annoyance has peaked to anger, as I scheduled this over a week ago and absolutely need these moved before this coming weekend. Naturally, as someone with a life, I had to leave my belonging's place of origin to go to work, seeing as they are now 8 hours late to the time they told me with zero communication. I'm not one to leave bad reviews and understand schedules can fall behind or change, but at least have the courtesy to let me know and apologize for wasting my time. I just found someone else, who for the MUCH lower price of $360 will be moving my belongings on Monday. I don't know what on earth happened to your level of quality over the past three years, but never again will I use this company. read more
