They called me in the morning to confirm and again when they were on their way. They are super communicative and reliable. They were able to handle all of our heavy boxes and furniture in no time! Constantly going back and forth forgetting things ..Had to tell them how and actually watching them closely but they still make some damages to my furniture. Movers were friendly, helpful, timely, and pretty close to their original time + $$$ estimate-but when we couldn't find some of our stuff, we went back to our old building to discover $300 worth of items forgotten in the elevator. This was my second time using Reliable in 6 months; the first move was very positive with a great team, this second time was frustrating, disappointing and I will not be using them again. What was good: I have not found anything to be broken by the move (I moved the most fragile items myself, but there were still some delicate items). Here is what was disappointing: *the movers were a half hour late and arrived in a small truck. The same move was done 6 months earlier with a larger truck that let us do the move in one trip, because of the size of the truck, I paid for them to return for the second load and drive back. *they did not listen to my instructions during the walk through and packed and moved items I'd instructed them to leave behind, including items labelled "Leave" and loose item I'd said not to worry about. *I went ahead and waited at my new house while they moved the old. I waited for a very long time, I eventually called them to see what the hold up was (I was packed, so they just needed to load boxes and furniture). When they did arrive, they had fast food- unsure if they stopped for it or not... *The movers took long, quiet breaks of talking. Breaks I paid for. *They didn't read any of my labels for where things went. I had to direct them with each piece and box, even after I pointed out that I'd labelled everything. *When they returned to the house for their second trip they were gone for a looooong time. I should've gone with them to babysit. This was a lighter load and they packed items I had told them to leave. When they returned they moved slowly. I smelled marijuana. I called Ben and he fired one of the movers, swearing the other two were straight. I really don't care if workers get stoned if they're going to keep working, but the change in pace was notable PLUS they would be assembling by kids' bunkbeds.The bunkbeds got reassembled, but it took two men about an hour. The tone changed after the firing in such a way that I actually felt uneasy about one of the workers (who was very rude and complaining) knowing where I live. *One of the movers commented "I don't do attics" about putting my storage bins into storage. I found some attic items downstairs. *As they left, one of the movers let my dog out of the house. He didn't acknowledge this, got in the truck and left. We spent the next 20 minutes trying to get my dog back in. *And don't worry guys, I cleaned up your cigarette butts from my driveway. the driveway right next to the garbage can. *When I went to my old place the next day I found everything unlocked and the back door wide open. I can't remember how I came to learn of Reliable Moving - but when I found them I sent the info to my daughter for her move from Carnation to Bellevue - I thought I would see how these guys operate before I went and booked them to move me from Carnation to Duvall as our small family went in different directions. Pete and Larry who arrived on the scene were fantastic! They took great care with everything and wrapped up the furniture to protect it which was amazing. I was so impressed on how they moved my daughter - that I booked them for myself - one week later four gents arrived at my door (and was so happy to see Peter and Larry again!) Cecil and Richard were also fantastic and the team worked non stop - not only to move my furniture - but some very expensive artwork that I had for more than 20 years (one piece was 16' x 8'). GO LOCAL! I was very impressed with how these movers were very down-to-earth and went above and beyond our expectations. We hired them for an office move and had them running around Bellevue, UDistrict, Shoreline, Roosevelt, and Chinatown. Even when the time we scheduled went over and discovered that we had a lot more stuff than we originally told them, they fiddled around with their schedules to make our project work. The movers themselves, Bill and Matt, were very chill. Easy to talk to and got stuff done quick and without dilly dallying. Ben, the dispatcher, was also easy to work with. The pricing was also a bit cheaper than a lot of other places I had called around to. I move around, a lot because I'm extremely picky and hard to please. I have a hard time finding apartments I like but luckily finding a moving company I love is much easier. Movers are worth their weight in gold and this company definitely gets a gold star from me. We have used them twice in the last year moving from Sammamish to Lynnwood and then Lynnwood to Seattle. It was so incredibly easy to book online, get a fast quote and then reserve the move all through email. Ben always calls to confirm and answer any questions you may have. They have shown up on time for both moves and moved us faster than even expected which is good because then it costs less than quoted. The best part is the price. We did get a quote from another company this time around in case our moving date was booked. Their prices were DOUBLE what Reliable Moving was. As highly recommended as that company may have been, we already knew Reliable did a great job for our first WA move so we were lucky they had our date open. They don't wrap every piece of furniture like some companies do so we did obtain some scratches to my husband's desk during both moves but for $100 less an hour than other companies, I told my husband to put a paperweight on it and get over it. We hope to not move from our new apartment for years to come but when we do, we will definitely be calling Reliable for the third time. read more

Outstanding service. I have never used a moving company before, and was a bit hesitant. However, I hurt my back last minute and needed to call in the pros, so I got ahold of Reliable Moving the day before my move to schedule an appointment. Ben returned my message within 5 minutes, and we got set up for a move the following morning with an estimated arrival at 9:00am. Joe gave me a call about 8:45am the morning of the move to let me know he and Carlos were on the way. They arrived promptly at 8:58am, and after a quick walkthrough, were able to start moving things by 9:05am. Joe and Carlos were both extremely friendly, and got all of my stuff out of my apt., down a flight of stairs, and loaded into the truck in under an hour. Once we got to my new apt., they found a spot to park the truck, which was unfortunately across the street, and up one building. They devised a quick plan, and we were able to start taking stuff inside almost immediately. In about an hour, Joe and Carlos had all of my stuff up one flight of stairs, and into my apt. They asked where I would like things, and then put them in the proper rooms accordingly. All of my belongings were well cared for the entire time, and after a few minutes of watching them work, wasn't worried about the potential of damages at all. All in all, the experience was a great one, and I would go back to them in a heartbeat. 2 hours for moving, with a little bit of drive time added on the top was well worth the hassle and pain (my back!) of renting a truck myself and moving things up and down flights of stairs. These guys were great. They showed up early which was a plus for me. They were patient with my apartment building and all the quirks they have about moving out. Of course my elevator broke down so they had to take one load at a time down the elevator that was working. They were pretty careful with my stuff although the one guy was trying to tip my kitchen table on its side and I thought the legs were going to snap off but when his partner saw what he was doing he went to his rescue. The moving into my new place was much quicker than the move out of the old place. The price was reasonable. The quote they provided me was right on the money as well. I will use them again if I move. Larry and his team were not only fast, and efficient, they were very friendly and courteous! My last moved I did everything myself in my SUV (Thanks to IKEA to be able to disassemble everything to fit in that car), but it took a couple of weeks of loading the car after working, and doing a couple of a trips a day. I was going to rent a u haul and bribe my friends with pizza and beer. After a snafu with u haul on top of general moving stress I decided to get a few quotes for hiring movers. I chose these guys because they were reasonably priced, had outstanding reviews, and available with less than a week's notice. These guys were total rock stars! I got quotes from several movers in July for a move at the end of Aug. I sent Reliable a full list of what was being moved and descriptions of the limitations (elevators, stairs, etc). They came back with a reasonable quote just below the other quotes, and I booked them on July 27th, for a move on August 21st -- a full month's advance notice. On August 20th, they called and said they were adding 2 hours ($240) to the original quote. This put them above the other quotes, and left me with no time to rebook a different mover. On moving day, they asked me to sign that I had received the Washington mover's guide, which I hadn't. They called the owner, and he sent me the file. Minimal, but another warning to be careful what you are asked to sign off on. Then the move itself started. We have one dresser that we knew would require extra care to move, and the lead mover assured me he knew what he was doing. I pointed out the fragile pieces, and he said he understood. They broke the exact piece I told them to be very careful with, in exactly the way that the lead mover assured me he wouldn't. He took a few pieces down then stayed there while the other mover staged our items down the elevator. When the last item was out, the mover with me said, "You can lock up and we'll meet you over at the new place." I should have gone downstairs and watched them (that's on me, and good warning to you if you hire them), but given how fast they emptied the apartment and how far it is across our parking garage, it was reasonable they'd be about 15 minutes behind me. I went to the new place to make sure it was easy for them to unload things. 30 min later, I called and he said he was about 10 min from finishing. Our new place is only 15 min from the old, so I didn't go back in case I passed them. 30 more min later, I called him again, and he said he was just leaving. 15 min later, I called and he said they were 7 min out. 15 more min I called, and he said that he lost the map from his phone when I called him and he had missed his exit. There was an hour and a half unaccounted for, and I called Ben. The inflated quote was almost exactly the time difference, and I told him I didn't know where the guys were, what they'd been doing, and I didn't want to have to pay for time that was unaccounted for. He called the movers, and they arrived right after that. I chatted with the owner again, and he said the lead mover told him I was irrationally yelling at them and swearing at them. I wasn't, but I do give the owner points for believing the story of his guys -- props for loyalty to your employees, even if they don't tell you the truth. The movers told him they took the extra time being extra careful and walking a long way away to get to the truck. I saw where they were parked when they first arrived, and I know how long it takes to walk across our parking garage with a loaded dolly (I'd already been moving boxes earlier that week). I told the owner that it sounded sketchy, particularly in light of the last-minute revised quote, and this is when Ben started talking over me and not listening to me. At this point, no one was happy with the way the move was going. The lead mover threw his equipment out the back of the truck into our parking lot and started banging things around (thankfully, just their equipment, not our things). The movers unloaded the truck in good time, and were mostly reasonable with my stuff. At one point when Ben was talking over me on the phone, he told me that "he knew my type and that I'm just one of those people who wants something for nothing." No, Ben, I don't want something for nothing. What I do want and expect though, is service provided at the price on which I based my decision to hire you. I understand that changing circumstances can inflate a move's time, but Reliable called before they even got there, so there was no reason to inflate the quote at the last minute other than they lowballed their quote to get our business. Had I originally received the second quote back in July when I first engaged them, I would have gone with another mover, and I'm sure that's why they waited to change it. At the end of the day, Ben discounted the move back to the high end of the original quote, which I do appreciate. However, everyone finished the move unhappy and it was the worst of 21 moves I've done over my adult life. When Ben was talking over me, he that said 90% of his customers are satisfied customers. I am, unfortunately, the 1 in 10 that isn't. To sum up the rating I gave them: Reliable Moving is not particularly reliable. They broke some things they were specifically asked not to, and the lead mover was super-surly once things went south. Dave, the second mover, kept his cool, worked efficiently, and smoothly unloading the apartment, and seemed like a good guy. 3 stars for a very average move, -3 stars for all the hassles, drama, and stress, and +2 for finally honoring the original quote. read more

Of course comming in right on his quote was great too, not a penny more. I expect more, and I vote with my dollar. Reliable delivers a stress free experience that I couldn't believe-even with my years of experience with them and knowing what I had heard. Some things you have to experience to believe and they made me wish I hadn't moved myself in the past. This move was the best part of relocating my home and I can't thank Ben and his crew enough for that. The movers that helped me move on the hottest day of summer so far (8/16) were professional and very fast! Whole move was done in 2.75 hours, including travel time to/from the shop. Things to be aware of: *Charges for travel time to/from the shop before and after the move *1 hour minimum during the week vs. 4 hour minimum on weekends (I moved on a Thursday) While I was initially nervous to use a moving company, since many moving companies have a bad rep, Ben, owner/operator, was very accommodating and professional when I had a discrepancy regarding the billing. Although they were a bit tough to track down by phone, it took two weeks to get an email response regarding insurance and we didn't dial in the paperwork until the day before the move--leaving us a little gripped--the actual moving day process was five-star. Granted, it was the busiest moving weekend of the year and they saved the slot for us even with other offers. The two movers were super friendly and they busted their ass to get us moved on a 90-degree Saturday afternoon rather than the two days that they predicted. They showed up at 3 after doing a morning move and got their truck into a tight driveway space to save time. They took care with all our antique furniture and nothing was damaged. On top of that they were flexible and in good spirits the entire time until we wrapped up the move at 10PM...they even made sure my pregnant wife sat down and stopped trying to help move any items. They also took our job when three other local movers were scared away by the word "antiques" and they took a reasonable approach to moving important items. They were professional and straightforward on the phone as well completely true to their word. They under promised and over delivered. I had never used professional movers in the past, but felt I needed to for a move from Seattle to Vancouver. While Reliable was very flexible with their scheduling, which I appreciated and the price seemed fair, I had several issues. First, the crew that came to pick up my stuff in Seattle left behind a significant amount of my belongings. I went out to run an errand and while I was gone they left and left behind a lot of boxes and even outdoor furnishings, etc that then my husband and I had to move by ourselves and some of which I had to leave behind and give to our buyers because I had run out of room in my storage unit in Seattle. So that was the first unpleasant surprise - I'm not sure if the truck they brought was too small and they ran out of room or if they just decided they needed to leave or what? But I let it go even though it was confusing, frustrating and created s lot of extra work for us. I decided it was partially my own fault for leaving while they were still there. When they delivered our furniture, I noticed a chip broken off on the trim of one of my nightstands. This nightstand is one of a three piece set I purchased at Macy's and it was not cheap. When I reported it and filled out a claim, their response was that it was chipboard furniture (actually it isn't) and that pressboard isn't covered because it breaks easily and since I didn't sign up for the extra insurance, too bad. Ben offered that if I was in Seattle he would have his furniture guy repair it and share the cost with me, but since I wasn't I should look for someone in my area and depending on what I find, he could share the cost with me. I am extremely busy having just moved and immediately starting a new job. I have no time to be searching for someone to repair my nightstand. I'm very disappointed in their lack of response - they broke it! They've ruined my matched set, but all they can do is insult me by saying my furniture is pressboard and I didn't buy insurance. I will never use them again. Actually, having this experience, I will probably not use professional movers again. There were numerous small nicks, rub marks, broken dishes etc that I didn't even mention and chalked up to just part of the experience of having others move your belongings. I just won't do it again. Used Reliable and they were great. Closing was delayed on my house so my moved date changed a couple of times. Ben was great at re-scheduling at the last minute. When moving day arrived Carlos and Daniel showed up right on time and ready to work. They hauled everything down 3 flights of stairs in record time. Wrapped the furniture carefully and put padding on everything to ensure that we would avoid scrapes and scratches. Moving in was much easier (less stairs) and they finished quickly. They just left dropping off our stuff. We were quoted up to 6.5 hours, it took 7. Multiple times there were at least 1 of them just standing around. At one point we looked out our window and noticed one guy playing with a furniture dolly in the parking lot for about 5 minutes. It only took them about 30 minutes to Unload everything into our garage but it took 4 hours to load. Multiple times we gave them directions and they continued to ignore our directions. We ended up just having them leave several loads of items at our old house just to speed up the process. At Unload our brother was there he used to be a mover, looking at our stuff he estimated it should have taken about 4 hours with 3 guys. Truly feel taken advantage of because we were 2 girls. While going over the final bill the Forman was standing right next to me smoking a cigarette in our garage. Overall wouldn't recommend. read more

Underwhelmed would be would a kind way of describing my experience with this company. The movers were nice and I don't want this review to reflect on their hard work. The moving coordinator or their manager, however, was rude, late, and highly unprofessional. To start, two weeks in advance, I had an appointment scheduled with them last month for 9am. At 9:20am on moving day, I did not hear from them and left a message on their answering machine. At 9:45am, I get a response saying that they're a "little" late and will be there shortly. At 9:50am, a man not dressed in company attire shows up stating that he is here to oversee the moving process and the actual truck will be here shortly. The man overseeing the process paid no attention to my inquiries for an explanation for why they were 45+ minutes late. Once we got everything moved into the truck, we spoke with the movers and the manager about an estimated time of arrival at the new house. Since the new house was only 20 minutes away from the old neighborhood, I offered to drive and they could follow my car since the new house is on a side street and may not be easy to identify upon first driving by. The driver declined mentioning that they had a GPS and would be able to get there fine without any assistance. With this assurance, we got in our car without any of our belongings and drove to the new house. After an hour's wait, we called the moving company's main line since we did not have contact information for the actual movers on site and got no response. Several anxious calls later, we finally got in touch with the moving company office they told us that there was little they could do to determine the location of our truck. This sort of behavior was dishonest and a poorly disguised attempt to rack up the charges for our move. After an hour and a half, the moving truck showed up and the movers cited that they got lost in response to questions about why there was such as notable difference in our trave time versus their travel time. After living throughout the northwest and in Boston, I've never had a bad experience using a moving company until now. Their employees were explicitly not responsive and not respectful in the way they treated me and my family members when we had questions about 1) their lateness, 2) the extended period of time that they took to move one truck full of stuff 8 miles to a house that is clearly labeled on any mainstream GPS system. If I could give 0 stars I would. I had to call Gentle giants to get the job done after paying $180 per hour for 9 hours! Ridiculous. 1) Totally unprofessional in terms of assessing the job required - took 3 tries over 3 days to even bring the right equipment/truck. 2) Came without tools to disassemble and reassemble. Did such a shoddy job of the bed and tables and bookcase. Wasted so much time for 2 guys to struggle with useless tools. I found a a bunch of bolts/nuts for my bed back at the older house...just sitting on the window sill. It was barely held together (forced) and they covered it with the mattress. 3) Totally disorganized in terms of how to get the job done. 4) Had a large couch that needed to be hauled/hoisted and they said they do not have experience with it and just left it in my garage and never called back. 5) Did not wrap and protect all the furniture properly. read more

I was the second move of the day and I think they were tired. They were incredibly careless with my things. Huge scratch on my headboard. Chunk taken out of the top of my nightstand. Picture frames dented. Vintage bookcase badly scratched. Piece of metal table completely broken off. It was such an upsetting experience. They even left behind a rug and a piece of their equipment. Just sloppy all around. They apologized but not as sincerely as I would have liked. And offered to send someone to try to fix the damage. I was so angry at first I couldn't even deal with that. I just had to take a deep breath and realize that they were just things and move on. I have two friends that have used them four or five times between the two of them and were extremely happy. But my experience was just terrible. If you do hire them I would recommend that you watch them carefully and make sure that they are wrapping things and being careful. read more

This will be a very limited review based on my initial contact with the company. I had an appointment for an estimate at 10:30 today. About an hour before the appointment, I got a call asking if I would mind pushing the appointment back to 11:30. I waited an hour and left the house at 12:30 only to come home to a message at 12:50 wondering where I was. I called 4 different companies and got 3 responses. Not only did they have the best rate but they had the fastest, most professional response (practically immediately). When we had to reschedule with late notice, Ben understood and accomodated us. The 4 men that worked with us last weekend were professional, talented, friendly and very strong. Everything was moved without a scratch and we felt that they went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. The guys even climbed a ladder in my garage and pulled down boxes to move out of our old house. They taped open boxes and made sure loose items were secured.
