Dallas Plumbing used the impending storm as leverage to quote an "outrageous" $6,200 for a 4-foot long, 2-foot deep excavation. When I balked, the technician, Travis, tried to upsell an $11,000 full-pipe replacement we didn't need. Under duress, we settled for a "reduced" $3,500 repair (still outrageous! but there was no time to shop around). The experience only got worse: Lack of Transparency: Travis had me sign a digital pad but withheld the written scope of work until after the job was done and a $1,000 deposit was paid. Property Damage: Their excavation caused a second leak in a nearby pipe that was attached to the sprinkler's old backflow valve. The "Backflow" valve: When I asked them to fix the new leak damage they caused due to the excavation work, their supervisor warned he might "accidentally" break my old backflow valve--and quoted $2,500 to replace it. I sent him away and hired my own specialist, who fixed their mistake and replaced the leak and backflow valve for just $675 (including the inspection). Dallas Plumbing attempted to price-gouge me for nearly 4x the market rate. Management has ignored my letters requesting reimbursement for the secondary $675 repairs that I was forced into. They prioritize one-time profits over customer safety and ethics. Avoid at all costs.

They quoted twice amount of competitors. I wouldn't trust anything they say now, credibility is damaged. If you can't trust them for the smaller job, why would you trust them with bigger job?

The last homeowner had a cheap toilet installed, which created more problems than expected. Jake was fantastic throughout the entire process. He took the time to explain my options, answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood what I was paying for rather than just pushing me toward the most expensive solution. What really impressed me was that Jake worked the cost of the work they had already completed into the replacement toilet, which saved me a significant amount of money. Mother Modern Plumbing will be the only plumbing service that I'll ever call again. I had been dealing with a shower and washing machine drain stoppage for a while. All other drains were fine and nothing I tried was working to clear the blocked shower and washer drain. This experience with Mother Modern Plumbing was as perfect as it gets. The first thing I noticed when I called was a quality of true kindness.. Gabby took that call and she was great. Even with my complicated schedule this week (medical appointments) she managed to work me into their schedule. She was absolutely excellent. And each of their team members that I spoke with, also had that same quality of kindness. Just genuine NICE people. Willie came over to clear the drain problem and he's an awesome guy. He figured out immediately the best approach to get the clog out. And he showed me the images with a special camera down in the drain. He's by far the most considerate person I've ever had over here. My two dogs were especially bad and barked terrible at him.. and he remained calm, relaxed and pleasant. He even saved one of them out in the street because I had left the gate open. The day of the service, I received a text with bio of the plumber that would be servicing my home. Adan Diaz showed up and he was fantastic! He was pleasant and knowledgeable. Since I live out of state, good communication and reliability were especially important to me. Daniel was excellent from beginning to end. He gave me a clear and transparent price upfront, communicated very efficiently, and was extremely flexible in working around my tenants' schedule. He arrived as scheduled and completed everything in about two hours, just as he estimated. He replaced both the hot and cold washing machine connections and provided pictures of the work, including the access panel he installed to cover the wall opening. He also repaired both dripping bathtub faucets by replacing the necessary internal parts, and replaced the two old bathtub/shower knobs. The faucets are no longer dripping and everything is functioning properly. He also showed very good professional judgment with the bathtub spouts. They were extremely tight, and he explained that trying to remove them could risk damaging the pipe inside the wall. Rather than taking that unnecessary risk, he left them in place since they were still functioning properly. He then reduced the price by $50 because the spouts could not be replaced, making the final total $750. I really appreciate his honesty and willingness to make the decision that was safest for the plumbing rather than simply doing the additional work and charging for it. Daniel was professional, responsive, efficient, reasonably priced, and very easy to work with. He also provided a one year workmanship warranty and sent me photos of the completed work, which is especially valuable when managing a property from another state. I honestly couldn't have asked for a any better outcome.
