(by the way start your heater up now before it really gets cold out there) My heater was installed 5 years ago but it had a defected part, It took a couple of days to get the parts but its fixed now. I am happy with all the people from that company I was in contact especially the tech Juan(and Erik who helped him out today) Prices are reasonable. They ripped me off on a service call that lasted 2 minutes. Charged me $89 for the service call- No Prob. What I am disgusted with is the $150 charge to install a $25 vacuum on my hose bib. What? $125 labor for 2 minutes. That is highway robbery anyway you look at it. That equates to $3,750 per hour. No skill was involved. It was a part that screwed on the faucet. I understand that I am paying for your expertise but that is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I am removing your contact from my list of contractors. I suggest anyone who uses this company is a fool. Extremely disappointed in the level of service! Had a leak in my water meter that needing fixing, Eric came out next day and fixed it, but left us with a giant mess of sod thrown on top. Not only that, come to find out a couple weeks later when my grass starts turning brown that in the process, he chopped up some of my drip irrigation lines. When I called to see if they could rectify the situation, I was met with a bunch of excuses as to why they would have to charge me (more than my landscaper would). He acknowledged that he noticed the lines but thought they were "scraps." Needless to say I will never do service with them again, nor will I ever recommend them. Our builder recommended him to me, and I will be sure the builder knows of how we were treated, so that our neighbors don't have to deal with the same regret. read more

Cannot recommend. In March 3, 2025 they came out for a service call to replace a bathroom sink drain stopper and repair P-trap under sink. Said they would have to order part from their supply house. They then left. Never called back to let me know one way or another about finding the part. Then on April 22, 2025 out of the blue I get an email with a service call bill for $90. Thank you for nothing Hooper Plumbing. I hope my review is helpful to other persons that might be considering Hooper for their plumbing needs. Steer clear. read more

Hired Hooper Plumbing based on friend's recommendation. The technicians arrived at the scheduled time and flushed the tankless water heater and adjusted the flow in the bathtub faucet. Charge was a reasonable $259.95. Last week we hired them again to replace the bathtub faucet and a kitchen faucet. We purchased the faucets from Home Depot and had prepared both areas for easy access. The technicians arrived at the scheduled time, replaced both faucets and installed couple shutoff valves on the water feed lines at the bathtub faucet. Total time spent was 90 minutes. The bill arrived on Monday. It was $749.95. So please be aware that labor rate that Hooper Plumbing charges is just pennies short of $500/hr. read more

Please note that review is based on AC service from Hooper. I've used them for plumbing jobs in the past and been very happy with that work. I had Hooper come out for water dripping from the air handler. The lady who scheduled the service call was very nice and she was able to get someone out to me the next morning after I called at end of day. Originally suspected drip pan was not draining but turned out be condenser related issue. AC guys did not have equipment with them to check for Freon leak and advised another call ($350) would be needed for that. No one from Hooper contacted me to schedule that call. While one guy added Freon to the existing outside unit, the other guy started asking me questions about where the upstairs windows and doors went to and if there was balcony access. As a female I found this line of questioning creepy and alarming, but gave him benefit of doubt that it was related to the Freon check. Next he asked about upstairs AC outlets. Turns out he was trying to sell me on the idea of adding a second AC unit for the upstairs. Before they had even fully identified and fixed the problem with the existing AC system. Between the bad sales pitch and the lack of follow-up I went with a competitor to replace the air handler. read more

I've been searching for a competent, reasonably-priced plumber in the Lake Highlands area for years and I think I have finally found it in Hooper. I prefer to use local businesses if possible. I used Frymire in the past but their prices are simply outrageous and I stopped. I made an appointment (2 hour window, very reasonable), and when the guys were running a bit late they called to let me know instead of wondering. The plumbers were efficient and professional. They completed the work quickly and correctly the first time. Best of all, the price was very reasonable. I am now a Hooper customer. Highly recommended. read more

Hammer from Hooper came to my house mid August and cleaned out a difficult to access drain between two sinks in my master bath. I paid $700+, but was happy my drains worked again. A month and a half later the drains backed up again. I called and confirmed multiple times that this was a warranty call and to send the same gentleman out Bc he was familiar with the drain he already worked. Hammer returned and charged be to clean those drain lines again telling me it's "hard to warranty work Bc you can never tell if someone has a lot if hair and is going to clog the drain quickly." I have called and my fiancée have called multiple times to discuss why I was charged and no one has returned a single phone call. I would advise against using this company as they do not stand by their work or return phone calls. I have also shared with the neighborhood Facebook page that recommended them Bc this level of service is not acceptable. read more

I really hate to write bad reviews, however, for this particular company, I will make an exception. There are several reasons for this review... Shotty workmanship, property destruction, deception, and bullying toward elders. I live at a rent house and the property owner (really nice older gentlemen in his 80's) hired me to remodel the bathroom. When I got to the plumbing area of the remodel, I asked the homeowner if he knew of a plumber that he would recommend. He told me that Hooper plumbing did work at his church and did a good job, so they were hired to do the small plumbing job needed for the remodel. I was installing a fiberglass shower and needed the drain pipe in the floor moved. Hooper plumbing came to the house and told me that they would be able to do the job in 1 afternoon and told me that it was "no big deal". So, we agreed to a time and set the date. 2 Guys showed up to my house and started the work. They had tools that didn't work and had to use mine, they took several breaks, left several times to "get supplies", and had no idea what they were doing. I had to show them how to do the basic job. They destroyed the floor in the wrong place trying to find the pipe, which made fixing the floor all that much harder. I had just finished hanging drywall, which they promptly destroyed. They dropped my new 750.00 shower pan and cracked it. Once the drain was relocated, they told me that they had other jobs to finish and LEFT A GIANT HOLE IN MY SLAB. Then they informed me that it was Friday and that they would not be returning until the following Tuesday. They finally sent 2 more people out to finish the job the following week. They sent the landlord a $2100 invoice. My landlord contacted them to inform them that the invoice they sent was totally unreasonable, and they bullied him into paying way more than the job was worth. I informed Hooper Plumbing that if he didn't make it right that I was going to leave a bad review and the owner told me that he didn't care. So here it is. Avoid this company at all costs! read more

I've worked with Hooper for years. This is the first time I'm reviewing because they got a new plumber earlier this week. Was I blown away! Patricia called me when he was on his way to give me the heads up that he was new. WOw, did JD know his stuff. Not only did he fix the toilet in 3 minutes, but then he explained it in a very logical and simple way. You get what you pay for at Hooper. I didn't give them four stars b/c frankly, they are quite pricy. This is the Park Cities. Patricia in the office is really spot-on, professional, and won't make a promise that their company won't deliver on. They're smart, fast, and really an expert in the field. read more

Hooper is only as good as what they can get away with. My townhome complex used them for exterior repair work and they didn't even bother to pull permits with the City if University Park. They fixed the problem for the affected units but now other units that were fine are experiencing inside plumbing issues. They cut all the corners they can and only bandaid their fixes. read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about Hooper. They've replaced our hot water heater, replaced a leaky valve in our master shower, and just this morning came out to check on a leaking pipe. I already had another sprinkler company at the house since it turns out it was a sprinkler leak, and Hooper didn't charge me anything for the service call! I got great service from Hoover, especially from Mike there. I had a buried commode waste line under our house (crawl space access) that has been a problem for years stopping up. One plunger wanted $5000 to fix it a couple of years ago. Mike crawled under the house to inspect the configuration, brought in an expert camera sub to view the line interior, then came back in a couple of days and dug out the old bad 8' section and replaced it, all for a fraction of my old quote. He was very professional, timely, and effective. Great work! Potty works now like new. read more
