Had an awesome experience here with my smog test recently! Didn't need an appointment and was in and out so fast - less than 20 mins start to finish! Very reasonable pricing as well. The owner Adam is insanely friendly and nice! A real straight shooter! He did such a fantastic job of keeping me updated as the tests were running - frequently reassuring me that all was going well. And then bam! It was over and done just like that! The shop has a large waiting area with some sofas and chairs and a big fan for hot days. I highly recommend coming here! Will definitely be back anytime I need a smog check! Ty Adam!

I'd been dealing with a check engine light/misfire code for 2+ years on my Nissan. Despite multiple trips to my usual shop, they couldn't solve it. With my registration deadline looming, I panicked when I realized I needed a smog test & couldn't pass without clearing the code. I decided to try someone new and reached out to Adam at Reliable Smog Test/Auto Center. Adam squeezed me in despite being incredibly busy. It was very busy when I arrived and I left my car in the middle of car chaos. That was okay because on of the guys re-parked it for me. The lounge furniture was old but comfortable. Another guy came in and told people about the bathroom, coffee and television at our disposal across the parking lot (not far at all). When I was quoted a price over the phone, I told the guy after he had written me up for more. They honored the verbal phone quote. I did have to wait, but was out in just under an hour. I needed to have my car smogged. I had to call and leave a message 3 times before I got a call back. Adam apologized and said he'd be in the next day 8-6. I went there a little after 8am, he wasn't there but told he'd be in about 10:30. I was told to leave my name, phone # and year and type of car. I did that. He never did call me back (again). The last time I left a review was 6 years ago. I was pleased at that time but not any longer. Very UNprofessional. I ended up taking my car to someone else and will never go back there again. read more

Just had my car smog checked. Have not had one done in possibly 15 years. But my Rav 4 is 8 years old, and required. I went onto Yelp to find one close to home, with good ratings. This one was the best. They took me with a very short wait. The young man who was testing my car was very friendly and explained things well. Came here almost two weeks ago to get a smog test for my car registration. The owner was extremely kind and courteous. He had a puzzle out for his clients to do in a cozy, comfortable waiting area away from the cold and rain. He was very informative since I normally don't handle renewing the registration for my car. He also struck up a conversation about art with my boyfriend and seems very passionate and happy with what he does. I paid $42 in total. This place is absolutely amazing if you're in need of a smog check. Adam is very efficient and my smog check only took about 10 minutes. Back today to get a smog , that time again. DMV notice to register my car (STAR STATION ONLY) I called this morning and was in exactly at 1:00 pm my given time slot. Out by 1:15 certificate in hand. Polite crew so nice !!!! Amazing price. I tipped 10 dollars for excellent service. He 100 percent did not want to take it. I'm a waitress and excellent service deserves a small token of appreciation I insisted !!! I do need to point out if you are coming from Monrovia headed there , don't stop at Duarte Smog it's about half a mile past it. The first time I was here I pulled over and saw it was not the address. I think I've already written a review once before, but I haven't been I'm here in a while. Now that I am back... I think we are due for an updated review! The great news is that things have changed! I immediately felt it was similar to a bait and switch and if tomorrow had not been a weekend where I didn't have to work, I would've just gone with the substitution. I finally agreed to have him order the tire for me before leaving the shop. I received a call right at around 3:30pm that my tire was delivered. I was very pleased with their communication. I was able to have someone bring my vehicle in and he drove back with a brand new tire on my car.

I was looking to do an oil change and also to have my car oil filter changed. My mom suggested that I come here since we used to come to Brian's Auto all the time for car repairs. I came this past Monday, around 8:15 am. After I pulled my car in and parked, I was greeted by AC. After telling him what I was here for, he asked me if I was going to wait here for my car and I said I was. I just ended up sitting in the waiting room (I brought a book to read), which was a nice area. AC did take out my air filter and cabin filter to show me how dirty it was and asked if I wanted him to replace it. I ended up declining the offer (because my husband ended up doing this for me. We also ended up going to the dealership to purchase a cabin filter and also purchased the air filter on Amazon). Anyway, in a little less than 1 hour, I had my oil change done and oil filter replaced. The cost was going to be either $76 via credit card, but not including a 3% transaction fee or $70 cash. I ended up paying cash. The price itself is okay but maybe a little on the higher side, as compared to perhaps another auto shop but definitely much cheaper than going to the dealer. This place is a legit professional exhaust shop. I searched around based on reviews and past…read moreexperiences with other muffler shop. Some places slap stuff on and send you out. It will work, but not always be the best. This shop takes pride in the work they do. Owner is friendly and personable. I even chatted him up regarding welding, and he openly took the time to teach/show me some things to try as practice to learn better welding. This was not even related my my job!! I consider my job pretty simple... for my skill level (shade tree mechanic). I did not want to deal with it in my driveway. So I needed a shop that I would trust to do it as I would do it. I would take my time and get it right. No Wham,Bamm thank you mamm stuff. Here is an example of the little details you want in a professional shop. When putting on the clamps for the exhaust tips the owner (Sorry, I forgot your name, my bad) rotated the clamps in such a way that they would never be noticeable (clamp bolts) from the rear. This car is low and it probably would not have mattered but I know from experience from other shops that they would have just slapped the clamps on. Would have it worked? Yes. "Professional detail" no. The details matter and that is how you know you are dealing with someone that cares about the service they provide you. My job was a Corsa cat back exhaust on a 2024 Ford Mustang GT. The owner knew exactly what he was doing. Not like some other shops where it just seems like the person is guessing half the time. I work on my own project cars. So I have a certain skill level and sometimes I am that person that is guessing on how to do something. This shop was none of that. Professional and knowledgeable all the way. I will be letting everyone I know about the shop for their exhaust needs. You get what you pay for. The prices at this shop are fair, competitive and totally reasonable. Seriously I felt like I got a bargain just based on how professional the shop was. Side note- The owner has legit welding skills too. I saw examples. I would not hesitate for him to weld anything I needed done. NOT RELATED TO THIS SHOP AT ALL... Just a personal rant about some Yelp reviewers... Again NOT RELATED to this shop or any reviews of this shop...My two cents on Yelp reviews overall where people say they felt over-charged or they know they can get something cheaper. Look, you are paying for someone's skill and overhead (of the business). Stop thinking it is okay to scr3w skilled professionals of their labor because you think it SHOULD cost less. Seems you do not have the skills or understand the knowledge need to do skilled jobs you want someone to preform for you. First off just remember EVERYTHING is more expensive now. Then there is a big difference between doing a job correctly and doing a hack job that will be "good enough'. If you are one of those "good enough" shoppers, then stop leaving bad reviews all over Yelp for business that are actually trying to give you a professional and correct service. Those businesses are NOT trying to rip you off... they are trying not to screw you with shoddy service,

So i came upon this shop because I figured id try and save money and use groupon but i get here ,…read moreboth times do the service, and both times now I have left feeling uneasy with either the service or actual price I ended up paying. So the filter cost more because my car is 2021? Theres fees I've had to pay more than what Groupon shows so just a heads up , not their fault, but just something they should fix. An example would be like "more oil is required then what shows on Groupon so you will be charged 8$" or something always comes up when using the groupon. Ended up paying 20$ more than what groupon showed to fill my lexus and get the proper filter. So the service was like 100$ total anyways. Ive come here twice and both times were unpleasant. Not sure if I come during bad times but although very friendly, it seems like the workers here are younger , more relaxed, and don't do the proper standard operating procedures. Like when you go to have someone work om your car , you can tell they been working, getting it , and seem to make u feel like they know what theyre doing. In terms of professionals? Idk if this place is it. I waited 1hr and 45 mins for a simple oil change and filter change? Mind you I waited for an hour and the worker tells me they brought the wrong filter. So thats why i stayed the extra 45 minutes. Total i spent 1hr and 45 minutes there today. I was also the only car there. I never judge a book by its cover , and on both times gave the benefit of the doubt. Then I leave and then see they forget to reset the maintenance meter and then don't update the gas mileage sticker? (first instance i came not the second, the second is the long wait thus what caused this review) Its frustrating when you trust people to work on your car and have to just hope for the best because you already paid for it. But if they're messing up minor details, what does that say about the work they did? Nevertheless, I will pay the extra 40$-50$ at my local auto repair shop where the owner does his work honest and right all the time. Im not writing this to bash the place but they forsure just hiring whoever can do "a simple oil change" probably not a place you wanna take a newer car. Maybe your beater or older car. Just wrote this so people who come for an oil change and expect it to be quality.. yeah based off both experiences , I cannot guarantee its gonna be this place.

I just went to :Reliable Smog Test Only, 2416 E Huntington Dr, Duarte, CA 91010. This is an EXCELLENT Smog Test Center, the owner/operator(ROBERT) is a very nice person; he is very professional and he completed the SMOG TEST in just 25 minutes or so. I paid $40.00 for the Test and the Certificate and this was $20.00 less than the other SMOG Testers in the area -- so the price is very competitive. I just recommended this Smog Tester to my friends and a couple of them have already gone there. read more

I went to another smog test station in Duarte and they couldn't pass my car. They said drive it for 40 miles and come back. I did that and it still couldn't pass. I went to Reliable Smog Check and they were able to pass my car, at a lower price than the other smog check. Great service, great price, and Adam is honest and fast. No need to go anywhere else. read more

This Smog and repair shop is the best, I have been going there for approx. 6 years, the service is the best, smog time turnaround is the fastest of anywhere I have ever been. I take all 6 of my vehicles there and the avg smog time has never been more than 15 minutes. Adam is the best !! Don"t waste your time anywhere else, he is the best. read more

I went to get my car smog at another place and they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg found reliable smog and a gentleman named Adam referred me and instruct me on what to do in order for me to raise those and I normally very honest person coming to see him every time we have a problem you won't regret it read more
