To give you an idea of the situation: imagine budgeting $16k for a project. You meet with them, they walk the site, review the plans, and enthusiastically agree to the price to "earn your business." However, two weeks after signing the contract and handing over a deposit, they suddenly claimed the project would now cost $29K. My key Issues: Bait-and-Switch Pricing: The final quote was more than double the original agreed-upon price with vague and VERY inconsistent reasoning. Vanishing Deposit: When I chose to cancel due to the massive price hike, they claimed my entire deposit had already been "used up" on excavation. Lack of Integrity: They committed to a budget just to get the signature, only to move the goalposts immediately after. We are currently pursuing legal action to address these practices. This company is simply not worth the stress or the financial risk. I met many reputable masonry and concrete companies during my bidding phase--I strongly suggest you look elsewhere, you've been warned.

He began work May 4 and every time he came he left a bigger mess. There is concrete splatter on the brick, the painted garage, the trap door and back porch and door. It's a dark ugly gray that I have not been able to scrub off. The patio is left with trowel marks and is "painted" a dingy battleship primer type cover. You can see the concrete through it. The garage area looks worse than before. I paid a lot of money and am much worse off now. I am elderly and trusting, so when he said he was finished in early May I believed him. Big mistake. I now have to hire someone to paint over this mess (except the brick, I'm stuck with the splatter on it). I regret ever meeting this unethical, inept, incompetent, man. RomanMasonry representative came did the inpection and reported that these cracks were resulting from loose cinder blocks. We figured out that our county's website has a record of all of the permitted work done in the county in the last 3.5 months, and you can sort by project. It also lists the sq footage of the project and the cost. We could see that Kefficient had done the most permitted projects in our county and they had a fair and competitive price compared to other companies who got their work permitted. We ended up deciding to work with Kefficient. What a world of difference! They quickly got a permit and did the work and had it inspected and it looks great. What a relief after such a poor experience with a different company!
