We had had three other companies visit and he stood out for his professionalism and knowledge - he was the only person who a) observed that our house was built in 1937 and b) explained its long and likely history of poor roof choices, which led to c) his plan for a new system that would help the old girl finally breathe as she was originally designed to do. We wound up putting off the project due to the pandemic, so had a lot of time to consider our options. We decided that along with Klam's quality came peace of mind, and so secured them this winter. The team came out and finished in two days; were awesome and frankly we are still shocked by how clean the site was after they left; they did a great job of clean-up! Also have to say we so appreciated Katie in the office; she is highly communicative and we had a clear idea of schedule thanks to her. PS, this alone is another plus for Klam; two of the other companies we'd looked at went totally silent after their visit and one became super pushy. Total professionals here. Which brings me to another key point - Klam was one of only two contractors (of the four we interviewed) who were honest about the condition and cost. Now, we knew going into it that we had FOUR layers of roof up there - literally decades of previous owners doing their own DYI patchwork fixes. Really interesting/disturbing to observe that two companies told us there were only two layers, and casually mentioned "more" would be charged "if" they discovered extra. Klam was the only company who said straight up, "There are four layers, and here is what it will cost." We of course opted for their clear, no surprises estimate. Abel and Jairo from Klam were the only ones who looked in our attic space and discussed ventilation with us. The Klam bid was inline with other bids that did not include adding any ventilation. We went with Klam and they were able to get us on their schedule more quickly than we expected. The crew arrived on time and were all very nice. They kept the job site clean each day and spent a lot of time after they finished making sure they had picked everything up from the yard. Abel and Jairo came by again at the end to make sure we were happy, which we are. Absolutely recommend them.

To prevent problems others have had I had the vents replaced by Cooper Mountain. I called for an inspection and they promptly showed up and took pictures to show me the imminent failure. While it took a few days for the quote, it was a fair bit less than what others in my neighborhood have paid for the same repairs. We got on the schedule and they came out and fixed us up quickly. The builder also put in a vent with no connection to anything. The repairman showed me and went into the attic space to confirm that nothing was amiss. This is the second time I've used Cooper Mountain (roof replacement on prior residence) and I would totally recommend and use again when the time comes.

When I wanted to add ventilation to my roof, every other roofing company simply wanted to sell me a new roof, which I didn't need. Casey worked with me to create a custom solution that involved ridge venting and bird blocks to create the airflow needed on my duplex, without having to replace the roof. Once we agreed on a design, the install was done in 2 days, which is mind blowing considering there was over 100 feet of ridge vent and about 36 bird block vents. Casey came back to the property after the install to check the work which I greatly appreciate and I feel really shows the professionalism of this company. I will only be using Cooper Mountain for any roofing needs.

I had a leak which they repaired while they were here and they discovered a mummified squirrel in my attic and pulled it out. They didn't charge me a dime. They took pictures of certain areas on the roof that they were concerned about as well as in the attic space. None of the other roofers I had out took near the amount of time that these guys did to really check out my roof situation. I hired them. I had them put gutters in as well. About a year later, I had water coming into my basement and I was concerned that maybe there was something going on with my gutters. They immediately came out ...on a Saturday! They probably spent about three hours here trying to determine the source of the water. It didn't have anything to do with the roof but they cared enough to really look around to determine the source which ended up to be a leak in my sprinkler system. He said his kids had removed it over the weekend. I offered my 36‑foot ladder so he could take a look. He leaned it against my gutter, which began to bend as he climbed, so I stopped him to prevent further damage. He said he would return the next day with a technician and proper equipment to fix the gutter and inspect the skylight. He never showed up. When I called the office, I was told he would call me back, which never happened. Overall, this was an unprofessional experience, and I would not recommend this company.

Avoid this company. Stalcup did a full teardown and put a…read morenew, 30 year warrantee, roof on in 2003. Within months of them having done this the roof started leaking around the chimney and, it was noted by a contractor doing a different project on my house, that the roofers had lifted the electric roof fan, disrupting the power but did not cap the live wires. When I called Stalcup about these concerns they sent 2 guys out to tar around the chimney and completely remove the fan (a decision not discussed with me) and patch the roof. More recently, in prep to put my house up for sale a pre-inspection check revealed the roof is prematurely at end of life. I called Stalcup to request that they honor the warrantee but they declined to do this instead, they sent a salesman to offer me a bid on a 50 year warrantee roof! There are too many reputable companies out there, do not risk your roof with Stalcup.
