House was inspected for termites by Tony, who was punctual, thorough, and very responsive to any questions I had even after the inspection was over - he called when he said he would (on a Saturday), and answered my questions very quickly. Quoted price for full house treatment was very reasonable. Tim and Kenny came to treat the house. They were careful, detailed, explained what they were doing and why. Gary Martin of Reliant came out; he was prompt, completely professional, and customized the service given that the problem was limited to a single room. When the time came for a scheduled return, the company agreed that, since there was zero problem as of the moment, we should postpone a return visit to a future time. He showed me the termite areas that were in need of fixing and took the time to explain everything to me. He even came out to my house for free and gave me a report a few days later. My wife and young daughter were getting bit by what we thought were bed bugs, so we called Reliant. Gary came to our home and immediately noticed that we did not have a bed bug problem but a flea problem. He did not try to up sell any other services, he was very professional, and friendly. My experience with using other pest control companies has been that they try to sell you on monthly services, or try to exaggerate the problem by scarring you into thinking the problem is worse than it is so they can sell you additional services. Not the case with Gary, the owner. He was straight and easy to deal with. He even came out a second time a week later (No extra charge) to make sure the problem had been resolved since fleas lay eggs and not all the eggs may have been killed the first time. He was very nice too but he did a superficial job with minimal effort, picked up my check for their payment and left. It may be a bad sign that they never followed up on why I didn't call them back to check the traps they set after ten days. But they probably knew they didn't work. I called Gary the owner of Reliant pest control after finding out months later that a job which we thought had been completed wasn't. He was sympathetic and said that we should have been told that there was an additional charge for cleaning up the attic (which we would have paid). He let me know that the person that came out is no longer working for him and took care of the clean up without any additional cost. Our home was fumigated for termites in 1999, so when there was new debris around the kitchen baseboards we were afraid that the termites had returned! After reading the good reviews on Yelp for Reliant Pest Control, we phoned the office and were able to schedule an appointment with the owner, Gary Martin, the next day. Gary arrived on time and was very thorough investigating the debris along the baseboard, as well as areas in the powder room on the other side of the wall, and the adjacent garage. He determined that it was not termites, but ants, that were invading our home. He listened to our concerns about using toxic chemicals and provided us with a treatment method that could be used safely around our indoor pets. Gary was very professional, patient, and kind. Im very disappointed with RPC . As a returning customer for the fourth time I must say I won't be calling them ever again for any services . First off I explained my situation with the "manager" and she quoted $500 for both indoor & outdoor treatment. I repeatedly advised her the problem was outside and not inside. She insisted to do inside and told her the times I've had services with them it was never necessary to go inside and why now ?! Besides shouldn't it be me who decides since I am the one paying and not her ! After her putting me on hold many times to verify she suggested they came to checkout the problem first before assuming or jumping to any conclusions . After realizing the problem was only outside they quoted $500 just for outdoors ! What?! Are you kidding me that's the same price she gave me for both indoors & outdoors treatment . What a ripoff . I personally feel that she was over charging me for unnecessary reasons of hers. As a loyal customer I will be seeking elsewhere. She's extremely rude and thinks she knows it all over the phone . Even after I decided not to get any services she didn't bother to call me and thank me for allowing them to come inspect my home or to try and work something out ! Had numberous contractors come in for inspection and estimate for a localized ground termite problem. Gary was on time, didn't try to sell us a global solution to a localized problem, and did the most thorough inspection. On the day the work was to be done, his office called 15 minutes before he was scheduled to arrive to let me know he had called in to let me know he would be 15 minutes late (!), and that's just what he was!! I've waited hours for contractors with no call at all. Most importantly, he did the work efficiently, with a minimum of disruption, and left the site looking as if nothing had been done except a great cleaning job. We chose this company based on the yelp reviews. We had our house tented for termites after living in our house for 25 years. Tony was responsive to all of our questions. They gave us all the information we needed to prepare. There is actually a fair amount of prep work involved. The job went smoothly. We noticed that some wasps and crickets lived through the tenting. No sure what that means about all of our termites being killed. I am not too concerned but this may be a good question to ask for future customers. We would recommend them to friends. read more
