We stopped by, looking for some inexpensive remnants to use as makeshift area rugs that our cats are allowed to scratch on. We were led to the warehouse area behind the showroom, and there were tons of them! We picked out a couple, they cut them down to the sizes we wanted, and helped us load them into the car. Plus, they even sold us the end of the roll of the non-slip padding to use underneath (I guess that counts as a remnant too). For $200 we walked away with exactly what we were looking for - that's a good experience in my book! read more

Good selection of flooring however they tried to give us the run around a few times. The day they came to install the flooring they told me I had to pay extra for wood when the man who came to estimate said it wouldn't be needed. Thank god we ended up not having to pay the extra $250. Not to mention after a month there was a small area where the floor started to lift- we had to call several times before they would give us a date to have the floor fixed. The salesmen there can be smug- when I got financing for my floor and was approved for $7,000 he told me he should be selling me something more expensive... I'M A STUDENT! I don't want to be paying this off for 10 years. Gees! I don't know if I would go through them again... Update 4/30/08 I will never deal with these guys again- I've already need to have my new floor repaired 3 times and am needing it to be fixed for a fourth time while they give me the run around! read more

I just purchased a 12' x 22' remnant for $189.00. I was actually sad to see the negative Yelp reviews for this business. I found this place through Yelp and saw the negative reviews and was almost deterred from coming here. However, I was thinking that since I was only getting a remnant, that it couldn't be that bad as long as they had what I needed. I called to see if they had something similar to what I had in mind. A guy named John picked up the phone, noted what I wanted, and called me within a couple minutes to let me know what he had in stock and gave me a quote. When I got there, there were a few people ahead of me; someone greeted me and told me they would be with me right away. I believe the guy's name was Matthew; he helped us promptly. He showed us what he had and it was exactly what I wanted. My jaw dropped when I saw how big the darn thing was though. Matthew was super nice and he didn't hesitate to go the extra mile and fold the remnant in half and re-roll it so it would fit in my mini van. After experiencing that type of customer service, I would not be afraid to use these people even for installing flooring despite the two negative reviews I see. I feel that the people here would back up what they do and make sure that I am happy with the results. I highly recommend this business. read more

Nice people but unreliable. We bought two remnants there in the past month that they bound as area rugs. When we got the first we asked about an appropriate size for our stairs. They asked that I email them some dimensions of the existing runner. I did but never got a reply. We went back for an area rug in another room. Found something we liked and had them cut to the size and bind. We specifically asked that they keep the piece left after the cut because we wanted to have it bound as a runner. We didn't do it then because we weren't sure of the size of the piece that might be left nor the size we needed in the hallway. We went back to pick up the rug and have them do the runner. They couldn't find the piece. After 20 minutes they took my number and said they would call, Of course they never did. I paid for the whole piece, not just what we had them bind the first time. I even reminded them in my email that I wanted the piece remaining for a runner. Their disorganization and lack of attention to detail or customers is troublesome. As I said, they are nice people, bu I would not recommend them. read more

I picked up a carpet remnant to put in our garage to make it into a playroom. The experience was friendly, fast, and they had a great selection--like literally a whole warehouse of pieces within my size range. One of the employees double rolled the remnant to fit in my vehicle and they offer a coupon where they give you free padding the size of your carpet. The same employee sized and cut the padding for me, loaded everything up and I was on my way within 30 minutes of arriving! I highly recommend this place. read more

I needed just a very small remnant, so small that it would best be described as a scrap. I was willing to purchase whatever size was the minimum they would sell, but out in the warehouse was a narrow remnant that was exactly what I had in mind. A young guy cut off the amount I needed and handed it to me. I'll be replacing carpets in various rooms in the future, and I'm going straight to Remnant World when the time comes. I think it's time Yelp removed that six-year old one-star review. It's an anomaly, and all reviews since are four stars or more. John the owner's response to that negative review demonstrates just how customer focused the staff is at Remnant World. Don't judge Remnant World based on an ancient review from someone who chose not to share details behind the problems she had -- that were not the fault of Remnamt World, and who also doesn't recognize a good natured joke when she hears one. read more

No mumbo jumbo at Remnant World Carpets. We are throughly enjoying our incredibly comfortable, plush and squishy on your toes carpet from Remnant World Carpets. We had a price shocking experience a big name local carpet store. The original estimate was $ 1000.00 less than the final quote. This amounted to at 45% increase. That was after they knocked $ 500.00 off the price that their estimator gave us. Sure the Sales team and estimators are incredibly nice people but that increase is a poor business model. I really appreciate how Remnant World is straight forward with no surprises. I measured my home, gave them the full description and they stuck the to price. The installers we friendly and did an excellent job. Yeah the installer hit the back of my closet door track with a hammer and made a dent that no one will see but it was not a problem. If you need new carpets give them a try first they may just have a remnant roll to carpet your entire home and save you more that a thousand bucks. If they do not have a remnant their straight forward pricing and instillation process is worth paying their for their regular carpet pricing. I will buy from them again. read more

Came here today on 3/31/18 to look at carpet for a 12x20 addition we built and this was the second time here to buy carpet and the experience was great there is no pushing salesman. The employee that helped us was Matt it was quick and simple walked in said I needed a 12x20 carpet Matt lead me and my Girlfriend to the back where they had three full walls full of carpet took he gave us plenty of time to look and checked on us then we picked what we wanted paid and I'll be picking it up Monday great place and a lot cheaper then most places read more

Remnant World installed carpet in my house in January 2010. The carpet is already shredding at the edges. Calling them now... Well, when I talked with Don at Remant World, he was NOT interested in helping me. It's been over a week and they have a) not shown up for their appointment to inspect the carpet, and b) are apparently not very motivated to fix the problem. Right now, I would say "avoid this company". I may have to take them to small claims court. Will let you know if it gets to that, or if they make any attempt to resolve this. read more

My review is relative to getting a carpet remnant. Because they're close to my house, I tried to shop at Conklin Bros./Abbey Carpets at Almaden & Canoas Gardens. Since Conklin is huge, I hoped they'd get in a remnant I'd like. But the selection was pretty small and never seemed to change in the 2+ months I kept checking in with them. Finally, in frustration, I called/visited a few other places. Remnant World was the best of the lot. They have a big selection, the average quality seemed higher than Conklin's, and the prices are cheaper. Furthermore, the guy I interacted with most there seemed knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic about carpets, and just plain nice. (The Conklin Bros. staff always seem a bit used-car-salesman-ish to me, as tho' something about how that business is run discourages complete honesty in the sales staff.) The store is in an older building in an older section of town so it's not the most chic-chic location. It is clean and feels safe. My experience with the service and selection was very positive. For remnant shopping, I'd recommend them over Conklin anytime. read more

we visited a lot of stores to change the flooring in our entire house with Luxury Vinyl plank. From the start, John and Remnant world carpet stood out with respect to their customer service. John never tried to push product which we didnt want and even suggested combinations which would work for us that helped us ease our anxiety. Their quote was one of the lowest we got. Once we hired them they delivered and installed the product on time and when we requested them to make some modifications they did so without any excuses. As a customer we were looking for contractors who were sincere honest and delivered on our expectation. I would highly recommend them for any flooring work that needs to be done. read more

Response to Michelle S.: I was just informed, by a long time customer of mine, of this outrageous yelp review of Remnant World of which I am affiliated. I want to start by saying that I have never met Michelle S. and believe she is not only misinformed of the issues involved with the customer, but she is grossly misrepresenting her neighbor. Remnant World was hired by the customer to furnish and install a leading brand carpet in the upstairs bedrooms, and guest bedroom far below the price of comparable carpets the customer found elsewhere. The furniture was not an issue for the installation, as the installer moved and replaced all of the heavy furniture even some small items. The areas of the carpet that need attention are scheduled to be fixed shortly and with ease. Remnant World does not perform sand and finish wood jobs. Therefore, this type of work is always handled by a separate licensed flooring contractor, in this case Frank Moreno Floors at the acceptance of the customer. I had no reason to believe Frank would have hired workers that would have difficulty attaining the standards expected on jobs of this type. He unfortunately failed. If Frank never paid his workers, it would be for good reason obviously. I would never insult a customer nor have I ever been accused of being hostile; something my many long term and new customers would most certainly attest to. A third party or unaffiliated negative review is unfortunate and for obvious reasons should not be accepted in this forum.
