LOVED this place! it wasn't easy picking a hotel in a city that I was completely unfamiliar with. it is NOT super close to the tourist attraction like the space needle & Pike place but it IS walkable if you're in decent shape. There is a monorail (which we didn't use). It is very close to the underground tours and a few other attractions. We had a 1 bedroom suite. The Suite was small but good enough. 19 year old son slept on the sofa bed in family room. husband and i had the king bed and 17 year old daughter literally made a bed on the window seat. There was zero floor space to make a bed. When i say small..it was VERY small. I wonder what the regular rooms are like? maybe that would have been better. Concierge lounge was gorgous! it had amazing views. Great breakfast & evening hot "snacks" . full cash bar available. in between hours it was still o pen for water, soft drinks, packaged snacks and lounging. This made up for the smal room. we spent a decent amount of time just hanging out in this lounge. lobby had coffee in the morning, water during the day and dry snacks available all day. there was also a full bar/restaurant in lobby. parking garage was below lobby. it's a tricky garage but we got used to it. it has direct access to lobby via elevator. then you board a different elevator to go up to rooms. i would stay here again for sure. super friendly staff. read more

My boss and colleagues all had a lovely stay. I made all the travel arrangements for everyone so making sure everyone's needs were met was important. Hotel was lovely. It appears they have fixed at least 1 additional elevator as 3 were working. They've added an elevator operator to help ensure ease of use going up and down at all hours. I didn't run into any of the issues another traveler mentioned. Per the night time operator it appears all of Seattle has broken elevator issues, even his apartment elevator hasn't worked for months. The peanut butter cookies in the club room were probably the best I've ever had. I'll be saving this in my collection of hotels in yelp and maybe Marriot app for future trips to Seattle. read more

The hotel room was great, and impeccably clean. Upon arrival, all blinds were covering the windows so our room was incredibly chilly. (a great feeling from traveling all day) The people that worked here were friendly. One downside from our service was: - The guest services lady who helped us did not notice that she gave us room keys that do not open up the garage as well. When we tried leaving, our initial card that we were given did not allow us to leave. Great-fully, another guest allowed us leave with the use of their card. If it weren't for the other guests who were also trying to leave, we may have missed our Space Needle tour! We used the intercom to call the help desk, but were left on hold for about 5 minutes. Nevertheless, we ended up getting this issue sorted out with no problems. Other Notable Downsides: - The restaurants in the hotel weren't open - no microwave in the room - Whoever picked up our call for room service did not give us the option to pick up our order ourselves as opposed to having the food delivered to our room. When my girlfriend decided for delivery, he said with haste, "their is an additional $5 charge. The food will be ready in 20 minutes." He then hung up. - only one additional pillow provided in the closet We didn't mind the additional $5 charge as we were planning to tip the deliverer any way. We did not appreciate his haste statement, giving us no time to respond as we would have picked the food up. Notable upsides: - Aveda products for washing up - water bottles were provided in the front of the hotel, for no charge on an especially hot day - plenty of closet space - iron and ironing board provided - lots of extra towels read more

The lobby, bar, and restaurant area are nice. The rooms are adequate and clean. But the sound of the freeway all night detracts from what would be an otherwise great hotel. I'm not sure what they can do about at this point, but perhaps there is some kind of soundproofing they could do. read more

The customer service was so bad that I had plenty of time to write this review while I waited (15min so far) for a manger to respond to my request after such poor service from their tele associates. it's a shame too because I called back as I said I would and now received service that has changed my entire plan for my trip to Seattle. Bonvoy Member here-Regarding my stay 2/16-2/18/24. Stayed with my friend. The AC in the room did not work adequately and the room remained very warm. Fan continuously shut off/would not stay on auto. This issue was minimal compared to what we dealt with the night of 2/17. From about 1am through 5:15 aim (we were on the 21st floor), people staying in the rooms next to us continuously yelled, slammed their doors, screamed, banged on the wall, passed out in the walkway against our wall, talked in groups outside our room, on and off all night. I called the front desk and security 3 times during the night. I gave them all the room numbers involved in the nonsense. When I called the third time, the front desk lady told me security had come up but "didn't hear anything"....which is a total joke as everyone on our side of the floor was disturbed. At checkout we wanted to share our experience with the manager who also said his guard "didn't hear anything" but they had notes from me calling all night. We were never offered to change rooms (which would've satisfied us) that night. This was horrible and I've never even seen anything this bad even in Vegas. read more

I did a ton of pricing before booking a hotel for this trip. We knew we wanted to stay on brand, so I was rolling through the Marriott website almost every day to find a deal. And I did get a deal for this hotel, given the type and the location. True, we could have saved a ton of money by booking well outside of downtown, but what we saved on a room would have been spent on either a rental, ride share or in time. And we had very little time this go-round. The staff here is just as nice and accommodating as we'd expected from a Renaissance. We showed up very early on our first day in town, having taken the first flight out. We didn't think we'd get a room at that hour, but the desk agent was able to get us an upgraded room on a high floor (yay, status!) She then took the time to recommend some of her favorite restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the hotel. We didn't get a chance to hit any of them, alas, but they are on our list. The room was big, spacious and clean. We had a desk, two incredibly comfortable lounge chairs and a ridiculously comfortable bed. The bathroom was also large and modern, and the shower had decent water pressure. The window had a small ledge you could sit on to stare out the window, but you mostly get a view of downtown...and the office building directly across the way. Looked like a fun place to work, at least. The hotel is pretty centrally located. We walked everywhere, once arriving. We didn't do any crazy hikes to Fremont this time around, but we were able to get from the hotel to Pike Market in less than 15 minutes. There are a ton of different shops just a few blocks down one way (and an Amazon Go store at the end of their block). It's easy to navigate, and we never felt unsafe in that neighborhood, even though we came rolling back kind of late (and tipsy) most nights. read more

Lovely hotel. True Marriott quality. The customer service was top tier. The food wasn't extremely overpriced and was actually really good. In fact, we dined here on NYE. My room, 1719, was extremely clean ( I used lysol wipes and didn't find a spot). The bed was so comfortable and the TV could connect with my phone if I wanted to watch Netflix or other streaming services. It's really in a good location downtown, about $6 uber to pike place market. I would def stay here again. read more

I really should have read the reviews before booking this hotel, it's truly as bad as the reviews say it is. Parking is underground and $50, predatory pricing guide is available when you pull up to the garage. Lobby: There was a cockroach running past me on the carpet at the checkout counter. I wish I took a video of it but I was too stunned at the time to do it. It was past midnight, I had just driven 4 hours from the Hoh rainforest and I was exhausted. Person at the counter couldn't be bothered with being patient. I go up to my room and it's great. Complimentary chocolate covered cherries. Complimentary italian sodas. Hooray. Next day, I leave and get ready to exit out of the garage it's now $57. Interesting. Can't wait to leave and never return. For almost $400 I should have stayed at the kimpton. read more

I made a quick trip up here for a business trip and this place was close to the meeting so it hit the mark. Easy check in. Nice rooms. They had a robe and slippers always touch. The room appeared to have been recently updated. They had a refrigerator for your use and microwaves and ice machines are various floors. I didn't make it to the workout room but the YS did and he said it was a good one. We ate dinner in the bar which was very good. This was close to my meeting the next day so I was able to walk there. I checked with the front desk they said no problem with leaving the vehicle. The only problem was we could not get out due to our cards expiring from checkout. They had an intercom in the garage so that worked out. All in all a good place to stay. I would definitely stay here again. read more

3 ice machines for 28 floors and one is out of order? No snack market for convenience, especially late night arrivals (one candy machine and one soda machine--on different floors--was it for the entire hotel). TV did not work (they fixed it the next day, but come on--for the price per night we should be able to expect a working TV). No apologies about the TV. And not at all surprised they did not ask us how our stay was as 99% of hotel checkouts do. They clearly did not want to know. Oh! And on a Friday night, the bar was out of Kahlua--a pretty standard bar staple. On the plus side, the room was clean--worth two stars. All in all, we think it was grossly overpriced for what we got and we would never stay there again and never recommend it. read more

I'm a road warrior (Bonvoy Platinum Elite) and have stayed at this hotel many, many times since 2018, but allow me to share all the ways in which this hotel has gone downhill lately: 1) There are only two elevators are working and the check-in staff even had to ask for "patience during elevator rush hours"; there's even a note in the room to warn you about this, so this does not seem to be a short-term issue. 2) The 28th floor M Club Lounge is ABYSMAL. If you come outside the designated happy hour, all that's available is soda, water, and a handful of smooshed QuakerOat bars in a basket thrown on a corner of the side counter. Not so much as a cookie or coffee station to be found. The bar is non-existent, so don't expect any booze. And the croissant I had at breakfast was stale as a rock. 3) The garage parking underneath is limited as several sections on various levels are blocked off for what appear to be big water leaks. Expect to go down to the bottom looking for a spot during peak travel days. 4) The lobby 515 lounge/restaurant that used to have table service is now counter order only; so I sat at a table waiting for a server to come by for 20 mins before I got up to order my own food and drinks. When I stayed here as recently as last Sept, I had full table service, so they're clearly cutting corners. If you're looking for a premiere experience, this is NOT the hotel for you. Best to look elsewhere. If anyone at Marriott is reading this, please take note that we notice these reductions in quality and will opt to take our business elsewhere! read more

My mom was going stir crazy with everything 2020 has been offering and not being able travel and move about how she liked so I decided to take her on a road trip around her state of Washington. I flew out to Spokane, picked up a car and picked up my mom and off we went to Seattle for a few days while we drive around northern Washington. My mom had been talking about doing a Seattle trip for about a year now and even though I told her now because Covid its not the time to be out doing tourist things or dining out but we can drive around and see things from the car and she was onboard for that. Sometimes you just need to change your scenery. After researching on where to stay I went with the Renaissance Seattle Hotel, it was close to downtown Seattle and Pikes Market. We arrived in the afternoon on a Thursday, my mom is in a wheelchair, so I was pushing her around and I have to say that from the underground hotel parking to elevator is not really handicap friendly. I had to have her pull/hold the door while I pushed her to the elevator. Since I did not book a handicap friendly room, I cannot say how they are. I booked a double queen bedroom on the upper floor so I could look out on Seattle. The room was spacious, my mom was able to push herself around in the room with no issue. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean. Because of covid housekeeping did not come in the room while we were there, and if we needed anything to ask the front desk and they would get it for us. We did enjoy our stay while at the Renaissance and wouldn't mind coming back! read more

We were here for 5 nights for a conference. Staff is great, restaurants are good (be prepared for an automatic 20% gratuity), water pressure and temperature for the shower were great! Location is pretty good. 20 minute walk to the convention center and close to public transit. It's a hilly type walk though so plan accordingly. Helpful info: bed is extremely firm - zero give. There are 5 elevators but only 3 were active causing a long wait. Rooms have a mini fridge. Microwaves available, but only two on floor 15. One vending machine for drinks on floor 12. One for snacks on floor 14. Ice machines available on 3 floors. Parking is 50 a night. WiFi is 15 a night for the slower version, 19 for the high speed. Room A/C worked well, but the decibel level is kind of high. Window opens, however proximity to 5 freeway noise was also loud. read more

Reserved a corner room for a mini-honeymoon (darned CoVid!). Not the best experience I've had at a Marriott. Our room's A/C constantly struggled to keep up despite two visits from hotel Engineering (one of which we don't think actually happened). The last two nights of our stay the AC was 80+ and very muggy. Ruined one of our dinners because I couldn't shower before dinner for fear of making it unbearable later in the evening. Fridge was on the smaller side, as were the two TVs. Most of the room was somewhat maintained but there were signs of wear and tear pretty well scattered throughout the room (rust, peeling paint, grime in bathroom corners) On a positive note, the two teammates who checked us in were phenomenal (Dora and Tammy). They were very cheerful, helpful and super excited to hear we were on our honeymoon! Definitely A+ team members. Also luckily had Dora when we checked out and she was just so helpful and very witty, made a great check-in and check-out experience! read more

They don't provide the guaranteed Marriott elite benefits, so if you're booking here to get those benefits, you should book somewhere else. If you don't have any elite status, you may not notice a difference anyway, though I'd say this is probably somewhere between 3-4 stars on yelp if you don't have any expectation of getting the guaranteed free breakfast or points. First, when I tried to check in I was very tired and it was very late at night. They told me to wait for 30 minutes because their computers were down. What am I supposed to do for 30 minutes at 2am? It seemed as if the front desk person just didn't want to do anything. How would they know their computers would be back up 30 minutes later? I finally was able to get into my room. In the morning I went down to the front desk to confirm what time the restaurant opened for breakfast because the piece of paper with the restaurant hours that was in the room was wrong. They told me it was a half hour later than what it said on the sheet (it's a piece of paper, if the restaurant changes their hours, just print out a new piece of paper, or, you know, just tell people when they check in, this isn't complex...) As I was walking away from the front desk, I thought to just confirm that the breakfast was free due to my platinum status and the hotel not having a lounge. That's where things went off the rails. After arguing with the front desk for them to give me the breakfast that's guaranteed by marriott for bookings at Marriott hotels, the manager finally relented to giving me the free breakfast. So I went to breakfast. After all of that, they still charged me the $30 for breakfast. I had to call, and once again argue with them over the phone to get them to reimburse the breakfast. Just not worth the time dealing with them. I definitely won't stay here again. If it's between this hotel and another hotel, you're probably better off at the other hotel, though of course it depends on the other hotel. read more

A really lovely property pretty centrally located to downtown Seattle, if you're braving all the hills, but they're really unavoidable in Seattle anyway. Elevators here can be pretty slow and parking is super expensive (as it always is in Seattle). In there mornings, there is complimentary drinks (juice/coffee) and snacks (fruit/granola bars) and in the evenings there are macarons passed out at the elevators. Our room did say that there was supposed to be a treat, but we didn't receive one, but there were complimentary Italian sodas. read more

Poor service, unclean bathrooms, WiFi not included, have to pay $45 fee to park car in jank garage, long lines for elevator, to top it off the mini fridge stank and was broken. Make sure you whisper because they like to knock on your door at 9pm like they're police without a warning call on a Saturday night (with backup, why?). They made us feel like criminals, never had an experience like this in my life. Steer clear if you want a pleasant vacation. Update: Another tip to top off this well deserved 1 star review; DO NOT FORGET ANYTHING! Initial front desk was super sweet but once she transferred me to housekeeping I could feel this lady's attitude through the phone. She said they "checked" our room and only found American Eagle female jeans. Really odd since none of us even brought jeans to wear. Marriott brand I love the level of customer service and consistency from hotel to hotel, location to location, they really do a great job training their people. The location of the renaissance is great. Just a mile or less from all the major locations. We walked or ubered to most places. I would suggest ubering if the steep hills are a little much for you. Walking down isn't so bad. I love the lemon and lime infused walked as you enter the hotel. On Friday night there was an individual walking around with free appetizers. Fell in love with the grilled cheese that uses a local blend of cheese from Bleecher's. We checked out RView for a normal size grilled cheese and some drinks. Great views. If you try to yelp RView it says that the business is closed. It's actually open on Fridays and Saturdays. Don't worry I submitted the business edit to let Yelp and friends know! Our room was very comfortable. I like the renaissance brand since our amenities include Aveda products. Who doesn't love rosemary and mint?!? I also love mobile check in with the option to request for services from wake up calls to more towels. Love it! read more

The beds are like rocks, the noise from the highway is constant, the location is 8 blocks from everything, no shuttle, laundry is nuts, extra charge for wi-fi, food is excessively expensive, $65 a day parking, no microwaves in the room, just f all the way off. The restaurant for dinner was very good. There Steelhead with veggies and potatoes was 5/5. There desert menu was tasty. Service from the front desk, room service and valet all terrific. Price in line. The two problems I had were the room they gave me viewed the free way and they said it was the only JR suite they had. The comment they made implied since I booked through a 3rd party and not direct that's what they had. That room you could hear the freeway at times and every night at least once the sirens from the police would wake you up. Second is a copy of the invoice. They sent a 27 page document to me of random gibberish that was supposed to itemize all my expenses. When I told them I needed a copy with details they said okay but still haven't sent me one and it's been over a week. I've followed up three times and still no itemized bill. Just hit the credit card with expenses I need to match up because they aren't adding up. They had some good moments but coupled with pending awful service. Might have to dispute the entire expense with my credit card until they provide me with a simple copy of my invoice. If I don't get it soon I will reduce rating to 2. Update they still can't or won't send an itemized invoice. There service and attitude is awful. Reduced to a 1 now I have to dispute charges I'm unaware of with my credit card company. I will not go back to this hotel and will let everyone I know this is a place to avoid. read more

We stayed one night after our Alaskan cruise. I wanted to check out the Renaissance in Seattle because I really liked the Renaissance in Chicago. I don't like the location much because it's next to I5 and the freeway on-ramp. Walking to Pike's Place and other areas, you need to walk 5-6 blocks. I wouldn't want to walk around as much due to the area although the streets we walked on were clean and not bombarded with homelessness. Rooms are spacious and clean and the late checkout was much appreciated. I do like the hotel, just not our ideal location. read more

LOVED the Renaissance Seattle Hotel! My husband and I stayed for 3 nights over the weekend and had a great time. We arrived so late due to delayed flights, but at 3am when we finally got there, our room was ready and waiting for us. When you're dead tired and come across friendly front desk staff at 3am, it is a welcome surprise. When we got up to our room on the 5th floor, it was clean, comfy, and well appointed. If I had to change 1 thing, it would be the pillows. Not my favorite type, and not very comfy, but ok. I will be back to Seattle in the near future, and will definitely stay at the Renaissance. Plus, how could you go wrong, the hotel is located right in the downtown area, and walking distance from almost everything. Thanks for a great weekend of fun! read more

The internet makes it inhospitable. So we paid through a travel agency, not Marriott rewards, but I imagine the same issue. We paid $13 for a day of WiFi and it was supposed to add more devices. The idea is that everyone staying in one room don't each need to pay $13. But they would not allow my phone to connect. I call IT. she has my go into my wifi and I give her some sort of IP address. I was forced to do this because they have special technology to block 5G . So I can't use my phone for text! I successfully got on, but every hour I need to go back in and turn it back on. It regularly kicks me off. It would not be so bad except I'm stuck in our hotel room with an upset stomach. Hopefully I am getting all my text messages. Seems wrong for a place that's supposed to make you feel comfortable and cozy to do the opposite with this agitating WiFi business. All that aside. One manager; however, was rude when my mother and I were exploring the hotel and searching for a restaurant and we apparently were not supposed to enter when the door was open. We were simply looking at the menu and instead were shamed. The following nights we had to go to three different places in order to get the items that we wanted/needed. In some cases, staff ignored us or then did not pay attention to the order and got it completely wrong. This review is targeting the garbage heap front desk experience. And while I understand all situations are unique I am compelled to warn future weary families. Never actually got a room. Relocating to another country, my company had scheduled a long stay to accommodate us during our last week here in the States. Through some sort of mix up, they cancelled our reservation. And this is where the disgusting show of rules enforcement and complete lack of compassion I have ever witnessed occurred. Four kids, exhausted, kindness wasn't going to make this front desk dweller budge. Deflect, deter, redirect; bureaucratic skills clearly in the making. This person completely missed any sort of customer service and humanity. Oh, had I showed up with four wiener dogs and a politically progressively sloganeering t-shirt I'm sure I'd have made it to the penthouse suite. The callousness of this front desk person blew our minds. It's ok, we took our 8 night, 2 room stay at $3600 somewhere else and ended up spending $6000 on a penthouse suite. In a way I'm glad because the other place has been magic! Never mind that WiFi, breakfast, and everything else that one expects within modern metropolitan accommodations included these... jackelopes pride in free water and nothing else. All the restaurants were closed. Go down the street or across town and everything is open. read more

The location is great, it's right in the Downtown Seattle commercial core, within walking distance of the waterfront and also the retail core. It's right next to the freeway, the library, and a lot of good restaurants. I noticed two quirks about this place: 1. In the parking garage, the lane directions are reversed, so you're driving on the left hand side. I believe this is because the outside road is one-way only. It's an odd experience driving around the corners of each level, on the 'wrong side of the road.' 2. There's no thirteenth floor! Next time I visit, I'll scope out the sixth floor and see whether or not there's a room 0666. Great place, I recommend it. read more

Renaissance Hotels are supposedly luxury hotels of Marriott. I'm not sure I feel that way. Pros include the Aveda toiletries and downtown location. I also thought it was cool that they had the room numbers printed on the carpet. Cons include the tight parking and noise. The noise comes from the I5 freeway across from us. While the room was spacious, I don't think I'll be staying here again. read more

The hotel itself is really nice. It has a cool little bar downstairs that doubles as a Starbucks during the day, has flavored water by the door, and clean rooms. We were charged $36 a night for parking which quickly added up. You'd think with the laundry list of additional taxes and fees added to your booking, they'd charge less for guests. There's even a parking tax. read more
