Where to begin. Jessica provided us with truly outstanding service during our visit. The restaurant was extremely busy, and she was the only server working, yet she handled everything with professionalism and a positive attitude. Despite the rush, Jessica never made us feel hurried or overlooked. She stayed attentive to every table and kept orders organized. What impressed us most was how calm and friendly she was throughout the entire time. I love this French restaurant on Oakland Park. Every time I come here, the food has been excellent and the service has been very good. This last time, I got the trout Almondine and the fish was perfectly cooked and marinated. There are many booths and tables to choose from and they can easily accommodate a group of 2 or a larger group of 8-10. During peak times, it can be very busy, so be patient. read more

First I'd like you guys to know most of the food is not fresh. It was prepared before and frozen, and they pop it in the microwave. Portions are too small, and the waiters are greedy! I will never go back to this restaurant as long as I live. My late husband loved going there when he was still alive. He got sick with a terminal disease, and he wanted his last birthday to be celebrated there. We did it there, but he contacted Pascal, the owner, many times, and the cold-hearted owner never answered him back. He went there anyway, and the staff were terrible, unfriendly, and full of tip vampires. The good was not good. For me, the owner is a capitalist with Arab (or Armenian) ancestry living in the USA. I felt depressed and offended by Pascal for not contacting Robb back. I think it was cruel and sad. Robb brought so many customers to him. Well, Pascal, too late; he left us in February 2022. A spontaneous lunch with hubby did not disappoint. We were seated quickly on a Friday early afternoon. Felt like ordering a glass of Bordeaux & French Onion Soup. Both delicious. This bistro cafe seems out of place. There is a French theme and decor. There is also parking. Servers are pleasant if not enthusiastic. My panini was quite large almost the size of two sandwiches. It was ok albeit slightly dry. The server recommended the fries and said they were fresh cut in the restaurant rather than frozen. I thought the fries were better than my sandwich. I think this place is better known for breakfast and overall I would return but maybe switch up my order. read more

I love this place! My favorites are the salade nicoise, the beef bourguignon and the tuna tartare. I also love the salads and the paninis. The chocolate croissant are outstanding! I lived in Oakland Park/Ft. Lauderdale for 15 years and always had great experiences with the food and service here. Several years later, though, after going today, the croissants are still delicious, but the other food was mediocre, and the service was absolutely terrible. The service is excellent and we appreciate the attention from our server, Nicolas - he provides good suggestions and more importantly he pays attention to our requests. The food is prepared to order and the serving is plentiful. We brought friends today and they also enjoyed the experience. Our favorite dish is the Breakfast Campagard. Today I tried the Belgian waffle with the homemade Nutella spread, which is accompanied with fruit cup- yum! For coffee, I enjoyed the cappuccino made with chocolate. I also ordered the almond croissant to go which I enjoyed with my afternoon coffee. I plan to return here for the dinner service which I'm sure will be as excellent as the breakfast. June 2025, met some friends here for the first time and I must say I was surprised how good my dinner was. Plus the prices are fair. The interior is amazing little old fashioned, but there are plenty of tables and booths to sit down. We sat in a booth and I noticed right away how clean the windows were. Finally a restaurant that makes sure their windows are clean. In my opinion having dirty window is a turn off because I always wonder what does the kitchen look like? Our Server Jessica was wonderful. She told great care of our table of four. We shared the Special for the day Beef Stroganoff over Angle Hair pasta. I thought it was strange why they did not to offer flat Egg Noodles. But the Beef Stroganoff was DELICIOUS! We had dessert a fruit tart that had fresh fruit on-top that was also delicious. Note there is plenty of free parking next to the restaurant. All and all, we would definitely come back here to eat in the future. read more

A friend and I wanted a little Saturday brunch someplace that wasn't packed, and he suggested Rendez-Vous. I have heard of it and have driven by, but never stopped in. The atmosphere is super quaint and nice! Lots of exposed wood, but still with a slightly upscale feeling. We were seated and brought drinks promptly. I ordered the eggs benedict, and my friend got one of the Benedict variations. The food came out quickly and looked great! They say you eat with your eyes first, and my eyes were devouring! I will start by saying the food was delicious! Well-made, tasted like a quality Benedict! However, the serving size was fit for my 5 year old niece. We ordered a side of potatoes to share because we were both totally unsatisfied. At the end of the meal, we got a chocolate croissant and shared that as well (which, like the benedicts, was phenomenal). About an hour after we left, I made myself lunch because my stomach was rumbling. Overall, the food and ambiance were great, but I don't know if I'd be willing to pay the slightly higher-than-average prices for such a small serving of food. read more

Arrived early 5:30-6 the place was basically ours we got a booth right way. I ordered Sparkling Rosa and the waitress/Katy brought to the table some Crustines Hummus and Cucumber Yogurt that was fresh and delicious. For years I've driven past Rendez-Vous, and I'm so glad that I finally stopped in. I popped in on a rainy Friday when I had the day off work, and the rainy day added to the cute, cozy atmosphere. The wood paneled walls and wooden tables create a very cozy cottage feel, and looking out the back window there's a lot of greenery past the parking lot so you feel like you've stepped into the French countryside. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was torn between the pancakes and french toast and both staff members in unison said "french toast" immediately. I'm glad I gave it a try - the bread was so fresh, with little fruit pieces inside. The crust was toasty and crunchy and flavorful. Fresh fruit and powdered sugar created the perfect breakfast. I got a decaf coffee which was a great fresh cup. I'm excited to come back again to try lunch and dinner! read more

It's sad to see an old favorite decline. We've been dining in this spot for years, but after last evening's really disappointing dinner, I question if we'll ever do dinner here again. We initially wanted mussels but there were none to be had. We shared a baked brie which looked beautiful ... prettily decorated with balsamic, arranged in a nest of lightly dressed greens with lots of fresh berries ... and completely flavorless. There was no brie flavor just very soggy pastry. My friend opted to also sample the onion soup which he found to be tasty. Friend had the chicken piccata with a light sauce but about 8 capers in total. I opted for the day's special of braised short rips which came out as chopped meat on top of mashed potatoes ... i was surely disappointed not to have the bone, but even more so by the oddly sweet taste and the fact that there were ice cold areas in the dish, indicating to me that it had sat in a fridge and been microwaved. The dessert tray looked lovely and we went for creme brulee. I've never had it served in a pie crust ... achingly cold ... and instead of bruleed sugar on top, there was a pool of ... well .. it seemed like liquid caramel that one would use with flan. The wine list has grown meager so offerings were few. Service was friendly and welcoming ... but one might have questioned why she removed half the brie portion and more than half of my short rib ... and half of the dessert. I'll watch for other reviewers to see if things improve before I go back again ... one hopes the breakfasts are still good. read more

We enjoyed their amazing almond croissants FIRST, then took the rest home and had no regrets! I ordered the onion soup but had to send it back. Someone had a heavy hand with the pepper and was pretty unpleasant for my palette. I was looking forward to "French onion soup" and a French place. The pasta dish I ordered was delicious and even better the next day. The frozen veggies that was served with my friends entree was underwhelming and a bit surprising for a French place. Three years have gone by since my last review of this restaurant and they're still doing a bang up job. There has been a few changes inside -- more booths and less tables, everything seems newer and cleaner, an updated ladies room, and the addition of an outside patio dining area in the back. The French charm is still there as is their delicious menu. When we went for lunch last week, I was still able to have a couple of my favorite items. Their reliable friand -- which is a puff pastry filled with chicken and mushrooms and béchamel sauce. It's like a French pot pie. It's served with a hot mushroom dipping sauce on the side and a mixed greens salad. It's comfort food. And priced very reasonably. . My husband had a lunch special of the day _ jambalaya. He said it had a lot of seafood in it and he liked it. But it just looked like red rice to me. His usual dishes are the assiette campagnard -- an assortment plate of pate and brie. Or their merguez -- a spicy sausage. And for dessert, we shared their lemon meringue tarte. Oh so delicious. Creamy lemon topped with marshmallowy peaks of toasted meringue. Yum yum. Delicious as always! Our first eat-in experience since Coronavirus. We ate outdoors in the patio, but the inside tables are blocked off with Xs to preserve social distancing. Workers use gloves and masks. The crab Benedict was delicious. The muffin was toasted just enough to hold everything together without being too hard. The hollandaise was nice and lemony to compliment the crab cake. The eggs Forestier was a treat! The mushroom sauce was rich and delicious... it tasted like it might have had truffle oil in it.
