Mike who is the owner first started off very nice, then as late may went by I contacted him with no response. I then to had to contact him down again to check the status of my permit, as I did give him HALF the down payment. Finally I called the village myself and he finally contacted me. Time has gone by and they finished the job and man was it sloppy! They came back out to strip it and I pointed out their mistakes and how 2-3 family members also noticed these mistakes and the main guy on the job "EDDY" said "they are stupid, this is just a walkway and it doesn't really matter they are little things". **Mistake included many chips that will continue to chip and they were rushing they cant cut straight lines or even finish the line for that matter, (pictures to follow).** I continued to say that "it DOES matter to me because this is my house and my money". If it was free I couldn't complain of such a sloppy job. GET EVERYTHING IN YOUR CONTRACT EVEN THE SMALLEST THING! They wouldn't even come in to fill the dirt they took out for the job EXTREMELY CHEAP. I also had to clean up 12 nails so my lawn guy didn't damage his machine or anyone else hurt themselves. Finally my aunt wanted something called "a release of lein" so I kindly asked mike in text and his response was SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL i had to call him to set it straight ( **please refer to the pictures if you want to see the texts!!!**) They ARE NOT accredited by the BBB SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND GO WITH SOMEONE ACTUALLY DEPENDABLE!!!!!

I removed a previous 1-star review for this company…read moreafter numerous requests via phone calls and texts from the owner (Carmelo) imploring me to remove the review, as it would negatively impact his business. Camelo stated that "family matters" prevented him from following through and providing the quote and services that were promised during our first phone conversations. As Carmelo appeared sincere in his apology and promise to deliver services as promised, I removed the initial 1-star review because it is not our goal to hurt a business when it is not warranted. After speaking further with Carmelo, my husband and I agreed to the terms of the scope of services after Carmelo changed the contract to reflect 50% payment at the time of service and balance due after completion of the work. It should be noted that in the inital contract Camelo was asking for an unheard of 90% deposit before scheduling a date to start service and the balance due upon completion! We agreed that Carmelo would come out to our home on today's date (06 Apr 24) at 10:00 AM to survey the work area, sign contract and receive deposit. It is now 12:00 PM and we have not heard from Carmelo. I rearranged my own work schedule to accommodate this appointment and Camelo did not respect my time and once again failed to follow through on the agreed date and time of our appointment. This company appears to be a scam of some sort, particularly given the unreasonable deposit that they are requesting before work is even scheduled (90%) and the blatant failure to follow-up with any appointments that Carmelo and his company makes with potential clients. I will not remove this review under any circumstances or requests made by Carmelo because it speaks the truth and I WARN any potential clients to expect nothing but fake promises. You will likely regret the time that you wasted considering Camelo's sales pitch. First time shame of you, second time, shame on me...

Robert Reese and his company have been working on our condo building in Oak Park for a number of…read moreyears now, their work is almost finished. Our building is the largest condo building in Oak Park, and it was built not quite 100 years ago. All brick and terra cotta, so one can imagine the restoration that needed to be done. Robert Reese may just be the most knowledgeable brick guy in the U.S., and no one takes brick and stone restoration more serious than he does. Add to this his experienced crew of workers, who are also experts in the field of brick and stone restoration, not to mention extremely courteous and down right friendly, and you have the best masonry company in all of Chicagoland. Thanks to Robert Reese and his crew, our building will stand the test of time for another hundred years to come and it looks beautiful! AAA 1 Masonry and Tuckpointing is the "BEST"!

I texted back giving this guy an entire week of availability to reschedule and asked that he let me know. I never heard back. it's been a week and still no followup from this company. With a work ethic like that, I am thankful I did not persue anything with this company. "Don't spend a dime, if they ain't got the time." Scary to think of the terrible possibilities.

I contacted Nombach on 7/16/24 re: an estimate for home + garage tuckpointing. Nice lady took my…read moreinfo and scheduled an appt with me. She informed me the rep would be Marcus who called me later to confirm appt however there was a time discrepancy...rep stated 9a and he said all he had was 3p. I took the 3 tho I wanted an earlier appt. Before the date I received an email confirming the 9a time. I informed Marcus and he said it was a system glitch. Hmmm ok. He arrived on time for my appt which was 7/24/24. He took his time measuring, answering concerns, using contractor language I didn't know about. I had a couple of issues with the work protocol. A prior contractor informed me he would be replacing entire sections for the same price vs Nomach wanted to work around them for the same price. He went to his truck and wrote out proposals which took about 1 hour. I know my house needs a good tuckpointing job but on one side it's just a few areas, the other side needs a little more attention and the garage needs sum tlc all around the bottom 1/2 but $24,609.24 is outrageous to me. The prior contractor wanted the same. I understand they may be qualified to do the job but that is a good chunk of my income to pay for a job. I get why my neighbors and others do it the cheaper route. People have $25k just laying around? We talked about other jobs too like replacing my door frame in my garage, said he had to consult with someone else; adding gutters to my garage, replacing wood - $5,222.11.....should have used the other guy 2 years ago who said he would do the same for $2100; replacing 5 concrete stairs and not the landing - $9,717....another guy said $10k 2 remove everything and rebuild. I'm sure Nombach does good work but u gotta have money to deal with them. Not for the middle class folk like me.
