One of the worst lawn care services I've ever used. The people they hire are incompetent. My lawn was lush and green to start the spring, we switched to Weed Man and this is what it looks like now. When they came out to treat the guy over did the application and killed our lawn. I had Weedman for one season. I prepaid in full. By July I knew I would not be using their service again. I had crabgrass like I never had before and it took them almost 2 weeks to come out to treat it. Fasdt forward to the next spring. I have contracted Weed Man for services after poor results from one of the national "Green" providers. They were cost-competitive. We had one such issue with Dallas grass this summer and they came out promptly to address it, for free, with a separate application. When driver showed up he said his trucks hose was broken and could not spray just fertilize, this took all of ten minutes He returned the next day and sprayed. we were billed a second time for the treatment. Weedman kept sending delinquent invoices as the payment method was no longer valid. I had to call them 3 times before they got my information right. One thing I will say, we paid upfront and then added grub control later. When I reviewed an email after mosquito prevention treatment, the details in the email said they applied mosquito control and the invoice said we were on auto-renew. We were faithful Weed Man customers for many years until they sprayed pesticides on one of our trees, causing a permanent burn on the tree that had to be cut away. The result was a large hole in the side of the tree facing the road - very noticeable to everyone passing by and not likely to grow back/fill in. The company offered to replace the tree so we got a quote from the gardener who originally planted the trees. When the company heard how much it was going to be to replace the tree, they declined to do it. Trees are expensive, maybe that's why you shouldn't spray pesticides on them? If you hire this company, I recommend following them around at each visit to make sure they don't destroy anything valuable on our property. I only patronize companies that own up to their mistakes. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Communication between "management" and lawn technicians is non-existent and to the detriment of your lawn.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For example, a manager came out and recommended we do NOT aerate the part of our backyard that gets a lot of shade as it could kill the grass. A week later, technicians came out and double aerated that section of the lawn. Along similar lines, a manager recommended the Weed Man team overseed our lawn again after the initial attempt failed, but not to aerate again. A week later, a technician came out to say he was there to aerate. Dealing with the weed man has been far worse than dealing with weeds. read more

We had Weed Man for one year of service. We decided not to go with them this year because they could not match a competitor's pricing. I told them over the phone that we decided not to go with them for this years' service months ago. However, they came out anyways and applied the first fertilizer application (which we did not want). They said that they cannot find the recorded call saying I didn't their services. They charged me $68 for the service and keep calling me trying to get me to pay. I regret calling this company to provide lawn care services this past season. They did not show up for scheduled services until I actually picked up the phone to ask them when they would be out to service my lawn. I paid them up front for a season of services and as of October 7th, they had yet to come and provide the summer weed control service. Reviews seem accurate, and the weed control they did do on my lawn yielded no results. I posted on their website my dissatisfaction and the only call I received 3 weeks later was to try and sell me $600 in aeration services. I strongly advise looking elsewhere. Andy, As I mentioned in the review, I had call your company on two occasions for the spring weed control and summer fertilizer. After nobody showed up for the summer weed control by October I called and cancelled my service with your company and received a refund. Weedman is a poorly run franchise business model. All volume drive, service as many homes as possible each day which constitutes spending no more than 10 minutes at each residence. Why does it take me 45 minutes to perform the same process? Weedman are you going to respond by saying these highly trained post high school male techs are highly trained? Please do not use this company. My neighbor has used them. They spray from the knee down. They do not use wind shields to prevent damaging plants. They killed 2 peonies over 10 years of age each that were from my deceased parents garden. Peonions over 6 years old typically give 30 flowers each year. Before that age 1-5 flowers/year is routine, so just replacing plants will not make me whole. Furthermore, they're sprayed on rocks, not dirt, and sprayed over a drain that went to my back garden, killing plants there. Their "safe" chemicals only break down in dirt, and some are banned in other countries. They poisoned my property, had a couple of guys come out to inspect, and then blew me off. I called again last week, and I am still waiting for someone to reach out. It looks like I will have to have to sue them in small claims. What an unethical company! I spoke to a live agent and asked they remove us from the list and he kept trying to quote me still. Tried out their service after hearing some good reviews. Man those people are wrong. They showed up sometime before 7am, without even telling me they were coming. The grass is wet, but they decided to put down fertilizer anyways. Left little post in my lawn so i knew they came. Didn't even cover my entire lawn. Had sold it with "we will email immediately" after the treatment. No such email. I called to ask about what they found , they didn't even know they had come out. They didn't tell me to water in fertilizer that they put down on weTried calling , constant "dial extension" until i called the main number. Person I spoke to was nice, but she understood they severely messed up. Canceled. Avoid this business. As a follow up, I was convinced by my sales man to give the a second chance. So they missed their follow up 48 hour guarantee. And they decided to put grass seed down (5 days after putting down weed killer). I mean I had to explain the absurdity of this to them. When September rolled around, I told them we would finish out the "treatments " I had prepaid, but we were done, relationship over, you're fired. They obviously heard that as me asking for full-on stalker mode--and I got constant calls through October and November of various weed men calling --AND I TOLD THEM ALL NO, STAY AWAY, WE ARE NOT CUSTOMERS ANY LONGER. By December, I thought they had finally given up, but the sneaky bastards were lying dormant like my crabgrass...and I came home from work one day in March to find one of their little flags in my lawn!!! I decided to finally get a service for my lawn. Weedman is who I chose to help me with my lawn. I chose poorly. I have more weeds than I started with. I called and complained to them. Customer Service called me and said they will make sure they come out and spray the weed killer. I watched in my camera the guy spray the middle of my back lawn and side lawn. He never touched my front lawn. They told me he was spot spraying the weeds when he was suppose to do the whole lawn. I have clovers and weeds in my front lawn of which he never even attempted to spray. There was a big weed by his truck he walked over. Now they want to charge me for a service that was not done as I was told would be. Do not use them do it yourself. I'm very surprised to read some of these negative reviews, both about solicitations and about service. We have worked with Weed Man for two seasons now and our lawn hasn't looked this good since we moved here in 2011. We have used both basic fertilizing and weed control as well as aeration, de-thatching and overseeding. The overseeding didn't seem to do as much as we hoped, so that's the one item I think is better done yourself. This year when they came out and found we had seeded a whole new area of yard that was previously a bed, they voluntarily hand-fertilized the area for us and left a note about it. The free lawnmower blade sharpening is a smart thing to offer, they come out and pick it up and drop it back off free of charge and it makes a real difference in the quality of the cut. I appreciate the courtesy calls and texts before their visits and I've found everyone on the phone to be cordial, informative. Neighbor across the street signed up, got me the $50 credit, and he's also pleased. He was a DIY-er cheapskate about everything, so I expected him to whine it wasn't worth it, but instead he's very pleased. Maybe they've got a problematic salesperson or two, but the actual service providers have been lovely. read more

I was looking for lawn care for my elderly mom's house. I made the mistake of leaving a message with Weedman in Wheeling. We decided to go with another service and I told Weedman this when they called back. Well it's been 2 years since then and they have called my phone non-stop, sometimes multiple times a day. I have blocked the number but my phone still notifies me when the call is blocked. So just yesterday I was finally fed up beyond belief and called them and spoke to someone to please stop calling me.
