First off this restaurant has been there 48 years. Good ones make it 5-10 years. Great ones do what this place has. Great owners, great chefs, and great staff. In our experience Jesse was amazing, informative, fun, professional, and crushed it with food recommendations and making some of the best drinks in Sedona. Eat here you will not regret it.

My boyfriend took me here for my 30th birthday this past weekend. When we walked in the restaurant was beautiful, and the staff seemed very welcoming, especially the hostess that sat us. Our waitress came over and was also incredibly welcoming. My boyfriend mentioned right when we sat down that it was my 30th birthday, and he also mentioned it on the notes when the reservation was booked. We started off with the drinks and I got the tiramisu martini, which was very rich, but didn't seem that strong. We ordered the escargot to start and the highlight for that was definitely the bread. The escargot itself was a bit chewy and the dish was overall incredibly heavy. We ended up requesting lemon slices to cut up all the richness and fat. For entrées, I ordered the lobster bisque for around $26 and my boyfriend ordered the Wagyu beef cheeks for $68. We both agreed the price was steep for what we received, especially for the lobster bisque, which came in a very shallow bowl and I counted maybe 5 small pieces of lobster. The wagyu beef cheeks were pretty good but didn't wow us. When it was time for dessert, I ordered the crème brûlée. While my boyfriend was in the bathroom, the waitress brought over the crème brûlée was just about to start firing it when I requested she wait for him to return. It was clear they weren't planning to do anything to acknowledge my birthday. My boyfriend had to go up to the hostess stand to request that they at least put a candle in the dessert. The waitress ended up sticking a candle in a blackberry that was in a small bowl of fruit on the side of the crème brûlée and walked away. It was incredibly awkward and a let down, but I guess a fitting end to a mediocre and overpriced meal. Overall a bad end to what was an incredible day in Sedona for my 30th.

A charming restaurant at Tlaquepque with one of the best pate spread. It was a great Al fresco dining experience great for people watching as well as soaking in some sunshine. The food was delicious, my husband ordered rack of lamb he said it was not gamey at all and cooked to perfection. Refreshing salad, Al Dante pasta, scripy fries, it was a wonderful afternoon Food was courses out in great time and good service as well. We would eat there again if we are back in town for a visit.

I'm not big on French cuisine but this menu attracted me and Rene came highly recommend. Rene did not disappoint. The food, service and ambiance did not disappoint and I can't wait to go back. We started off with cocktails and the bread service and it was excellent. The bread came with 3 tapenades for dipping and the pesto and olive were excellent. For appetizers we had the escargot and the lobster bisque. The escargot with the puff pastry was excellent and the bisque was good. For our main course we had the steak Diane with a side of truffle risotto, and the salmon baked in parchment paper. They were both very good. For desert we ordered the chocolate soufflé and it was excellent.

The special of the night, Seabass and scallops with a special order of risotto on the side!

Service was top-notch! Food was top-notch! Quality and taste were spectacular! Can't wait to go back! Loved the patio seating too!

Ambiance is romantic, cozy, intimate. Hubby & I dined here for late dinner last Sunday. We got seated right away since we made reservations. We ordered escargot, foie gras, petite filet, & special of the night which was sea bass served over mashed potatoes with seared scallops on top, a side of green beans, & 4 different sauces. Escargot wasn't too heavy & delicious. Foi gras was on the sweeter side bc of the port wine reduction & the apple pear chutney but the foi gras itself was excellent. The toasted brioche paired so well with the foi gras. Petit filet was served perfect temp & tender with each bite. We paired red wine with our dishes. One huge downfall was that I chewed on a few tiny pieces of shell when I bit into the scallop. Husband reported it our server & she immediately apologized & had the chef come to us & he apologized for his mistake. The chef graciously offered to cook new scallops for us to take home. I truly appreciated their sincere apology. I call that compassionate service. I ate the scallops the next night & it was perfect. We will dine here again if & when we're visiting Sedona again.

My wife and I went on a date night. Very romantic and sophisticated atmosphere! They have a tasting menu and we both had that. Lobster bisque and French onion soup were to die for! Seabass was melt in your mouth and the dry aged ribeye from Argentina was next level ! Cheesecake and soufflé were the perfect finish to our 3 course dinner! James was an awesome server, very knowledgeable about food and drinks. I had the strawberry sour and will dream of that cocktail for a while! Francisco the manager was very friendly and checked on us throughout the meal! Phenomenal dining experience! Highly recommend a visit!

Came here for an anniversary dinner. The service was really great and we enjoyed the food. We had the bass special, the bread service and a pasta. Everything was really good. The only thing that fell short was the Brie cheesecake. It wasn't bad but didn't blow me away

Rene at Tlaquepaque is a beautiful, romantic restaurant at Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village in Sedona. You can't beat the beautiful Sedona red rock views while eating some delicious French Mediterranean cuisine. We came here after doing some light hiking over at Bell Rock. Both our meal and service were great during our dining experience. We came here for lunch and had the Roasted Organic Beet Salad and Grilled Chicken Panini with some wine. It wasn't too busy, so we had a section of the restaurant all to ourselves. Rene's at Tlaquepaque has created a nice ambiance that makes it a great place for a date night out. After your meal, take some time to stroll around the art galleries at Tlaquepaque and check out some of the beautiful art pieces.

My husband and I were in Sedona celebrating our anniversary and had dinner at Rene. What a charming French Mediterranean restaurant. We had our dog with us so had to sit on the outdoor patio which is pet friendly. It was lovely and quaint. The lights and trees add to the ambiance at night, romantic spot. We loved the escargot, you have to dip the bread in the garlic butter sauce, yum! I had the special, it was a seafood risotto with mussels, prawns, scallops, clams, and octopus, delicious. My husband had the petite filet. We had great wine and service. Rene is expensive, but worth it!

The Monte Cristo chicken sandwich. Very interesting flavors and very sweet. That cup of fries will set you back 6 doll hairs!

Cool place with very exquisite feel. It's in the middle of the Tlaquepaque shopping center in Sedona, AZ. We had a great time! The waiter asked if I wanted fries and charged me $6 for them which I didn't know till I got the bill. Many restaurants do this which I feel should not be legal. Guess I should've paid more attention to what came with the sandwich. It sure was good though, a Monte Cristo! Thank you!

I never pass up a chance to stop at Rene when I'm in Sedona. The French onion soup is one of the best I've ever had. The bruschetta is also to die for. The salmon, cream cheese, caper combo is the perfect salty, briney bite. The ham and brie and foie gras bruschettas are also divine! Service is always top notch, and the patio seating offers the best seats in the house, especially when the weather's nice. If you're looking for upscale, elegant dining with a great menu, you have to check out Rene!

We had the wine tasting flight special which included 5 wines (2 whites 3 reds) and a personal charcuterie. The charcuterie was mostly cheese but also had some nuts and ham. The wines were a good variety and I think mostly from Europe. We also ordered a panini each and both the pesto chicken and caprese were tasty. Althought they OPEN at 5pm, they allow you to call in for pick-up orders starting at 3pm. Between the 4 of us, we had ordered a variety of items --Botanas (Snack)-- ELOTE - fire roasted corn with spicy mayo, lime, and cotija cheese Decent sized bowl of juicy, flavorful corn mixed with creamy mayo and cotija cheese topped with some lime juice. PERFECT snack with included chips (or your own chips). I ordered 2 of these because im a piggy and i just heard that its yummy .... PORK BELLY TACOS (2) - Slow roasted house cured pork belly with mango arbol salsa Surprisingly LARGE slab of pork belly topped with a nice bright mango salsa, cilanto, and shards of radish with a sice of pickled onions. Id assume its probably similar/same pork belly as the previous pork belly tacos. The shrimp looked quite large though ! DUCK CARNITAS - Slow roasted duck served with pasilla chile sauce and guacamole Yummy roasted duck with chile sauce, good amount of guacamole and a ton of various veggies, pico and fresh jalepeno. Weirdly the duck wasn't in slices but all sorts of varying sizes. There were some good pieces on top but lots of small pieces hiding around. Elote Cafe offerings ARE on a pricier side BUT they are ALL delicious. It is actually kind of DIFFICULT to find a GOOD restaurant in Sedona, weirdly.
