    Bruschetta Trio
    Beth M.

Lovely French restaurant in a cute courtyard at Tlaquepaque. Great and attentive service by Keenan. We sat on the patio. It was very busy and a bit loud. But the ambiance overall was nice and it was a beautiful day. Bruschetta trio was good. I liked the jamon one the best. The Tuna Nicoise was fine. Presentation was lovely. My bf would have liked some other veggies and don't feel it lived up to his standards. I had the Monte Cristo which was enormous and tasty. The ham had been fried and it really added to the flavor. The soufflé was incredible- although we were not advised it was a $5 upcharge for a minuscule scoop of ice cream. Speaking of prices. We were charged $30 for my sandwich which was listed as $24 on the menu. We didn't notice until I looked at the receipt that he next day. It's only $6 but it didn't leave me feeling positively.

My boyfriend took me here for my 30th birthday this past weekend. When we walked in the restaurant was beautiful, and the staff seemed very welcoming, especially the hostess that sat us. Our waitress came over and was also incredibly welcoming. My boyfriend mentioned right when we sat down that it was my 30th birthday, and he also mentioned it on the notes when the reservation was booked. We started off with the drinks and I got the tiramisu martini, which was very rich, but didn't seem that strong. We ordered the escargot to start and the highlight for that was definitely the bread. The escargot itself was a bit chewy and the dish was overall incredibly heavy. We ended up requesting lemon slices to cut up all the richness and fat. For entrées, I ordered the lobster bisque for around $26 and my boyfriend ordered the Wagyu beef cheeks for $68. We both agreed the price was steep for what we received, especially for the lobster bisque, which came in a very shallow bowl and I counted maybe 5 small pieces of lobster. The wagyu beef cheeks were pretty good but didn't wow us. When it was time for dessert, I ordered the crème brûlée. While my boyfriend was in the bathroom, the waitress brought over the crème brûlée was just about to start firing it when I requested she wait for him to return. It was clear they weren't planning to do anything to acknowledge my birthday. My boyfriend had to go up to the hostess stand to request that they at least put a candle in the dessert. The waitress ended up sticking a candle in a blackberry that was in a small bowl of fruit on the side of the crème brûlée and walked away. It was incredibly awkward and a let down, but I guess a fitting end to a mediocre and overpriced meal. Overall a bad end to what was an incredible day in Sedona for my 30th.

A charming restaurant at Tlaquepque with one of the best pate spread. It was a great Al fresco dining experience great for people watching as well as soaking in some sunshine. The food was delicious, my husband ordered rack of lamb he said it was not gamey at all and cooked to perfection. Refreshing salad, Al Dante pasta, scripy fries, it was a wonderful afternoon Food was courses out in great time and good service as well. We would eat there again if we are back in town for a visit.

First off this restaurant has been there 48 years. Good ones make it 5-10 years. Great ones do what this place has. Great owners, great chefs, and great staff. In our experience Jesse was amazing, informative, fun, professional, and crushed it with food recommendations and making some of the best drinks in Sedona. Eat here you will not regret it.

In most circumstances, this restaurant would be five stars. Gorgeous location, impeccable service and a menu with lots of fun choices. We sat outside on the patio, absolutely beautiful weather and the tables are gently shaded by beautiful Brazilian Pepper trees. My only issue, I had bits of the tree in my hair, my water, my drink and my dinner. Our waiter Joshua was fantastic, a warm, gracious pro. PERFECT!! We started with the bone marrow appetizer. Maybe the best I've had at a restaurant. Came topped with a piping of mashed potatoes and bread crumbs. Perfectly cooked and served with toasted brioche bread, smoked sea salt and a bacon marmalade. It was delicious and huge. My only thoughts on making it perfect...Go ahead and salt your marrow in the kitchen and add another slice of toast. You are serving two big marrow bones, so don't be stingy with a piece of toast. All that said, this app was highlight of dinner. My daughter opted for another appetizer as her entree. She had the Spanish style garlic chili shrimp in butter. Looked huge and she said it was over the top fabulous. (I'm allergic to shellfish so I just took her word) She added some duck fat fries which were fine, but not great. I had the mushroom strudel and it was okay but frankly pretty underwhelming. Think it had been pre-made, filling was blah, flakey pastry was not, and highlight was a plucky little pepper sauce that was delicious but didn't really go with the main dish. It screamed for a nice cream sauce, and some butter in the filling. I love mushrooms as a main and this poor little pastry looked and tasted like a hot pocket. Now back to the positives. The dark chocolate soufflé with homemade crème anglaise is lovely and well worth it . My daughter also loved the prickly pear margaritas. All in all, really nice experience and meal. The kitchen obviously functions well and service is perfect. A few tweaks on the menu and this place is stellar. Even now, a Great special occasion restaurant and the location and lovely service made it special for us.

Would be willing to give it another try. Came here for lunch, with a reservation, during dia de los muertos weekend. The food was ok. My husband and I both had the chicken sandwhich. My kiddo had butter noodle pasta which for whatever reason didnt like and struggled to get her to eat it. We shared a creme brulee and the experience of burning the sugar at the table was fun. The service was slow but again not sure because of the weekend event. We sat on the patio and the ambiance was great.

I'm not big on French cuisine but this menu attracted me and Rene came highly recommend. Rene did not disappoint. The food, service and ambiance did not disappoint and I can't wait to go back. We started off with cocktails and the bread service and it was excellent. The bread came with 3 tapenades for dipping and the pesto and olive were excellent. For appetizers we had the escargot and the lobster bisque. The escargot with the puff pastry was excellent and the bisque was good. For our main course we had the steak Diane with a side of truffle risotto, and the salmon baked in parchment paper. They were both very good. For desert we ordered the chocolate soufflé and it was excellent.

One word. AMAZING. One of the BEST dinners my wife and i ever had. Great view from the moment we walked up outside to the restaurant to walking in.Nice hostess sat us down right away with a table with rose pedals on it! Ambience was excellent inside. The food came out quite a presentation! Great service and the food was the BEST tasting ever! I highly recommend Rene's for a top class romantic dinner. And to think it was only Tuesday! Thanks again for an AMAZING Experience! Ronnie & Katelyn

Came here for an anniversary dinner. The service was really great and we enjoyed the food. We had the bass special, the bread service and a pasta. Everything was really good. The only thing that fell short was the Brie cheesecake. It wasn't bad but didn't blow me away

Rene at Tlaquepaque is a beautiful, romantic restaurant at Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village in Sedona. You can't beat the beautiful Sedona red rock views while eating some delicious French Mediterranean cuisine. We came here after doing some light hiking over at Bell Rock. Both our meal and service were great during our dining experience. We came here for lunch and had the Roasted Organic Beet Salad and Grilled Chicken Panini with some wine. It wasn't too busy, so we had a section of the restaurant all to ourselves. Rene's at Tlaquepaque has created a nice ambiance that makes it a great place for a date night out. After your meal, take some time to stroll around the art galleries at Tlaquepaque and check out some of the beautiful art pieces.

    Seafood Risotto

My husband and I were in Sedona celebrating our anniversary and had dinner at Rene. What a charming French Mediterranean restaurant. We had our dog with us so had to sit on the outdoor patio which is pet friendly. It was lovely and quaint. The lights and trees add to the ambiance at night, romantic spot. We loved the escargot, you have to dip the bread in the garlic butter sauce, yum! I had the special, it was a seafood risotto with mussels, prawns, scallops, clams, and octopus, delicious. My husband had the petite filet. We had great wine and service. Rene is expensive, but worth it!

Ambiance is romantic, cozy, intimate. Hubby & I dined here for late dinner last Sunday. We got seated right away since we made reservations. We ordered escargot, foie gras, petite filet, & special of the night which was sea bass served over mashed potatoes with seared scallops on top, a side of green beans, & 4 different sauces. Escargot wasn't too heavy & delicious. Foi gras was on the sweeter side bc of the port wine reduction & the apple pear chutney but the foi gras itself was excellent. The toasted brioche paired so well with the foi gras. Petit filet was served perfect temp & tender with each bite. We paired red wine with our dishes. One huge downfall was that I chewed on a few tiny pieces of shell when I bit into the scallop. Husband reported it our server & she immediately apologized & had the chef come to us & he apologized for his mistake. The chef graciously offered to cook new scallops for us to take home. I truly appreciated their sincere apology. I call that compassionate service. I ate the scallops the next night & it was perfect. We will dine here again if & when we're visiting Sedona again.

The special of the night, Seabass and scallops with a special order of risotto on the side!

Service was top-notch! Food was top-notch! Quality and taste were spectacular! Can't wait to go back! Loved the patio seating too!

The Monte Cristo chicken sandwich. Very interesting flavors and very sweet. That cup of fries will set you back 6 doll hairs!

There's seating near the French doors and a small balcony overlooking the village--a lovely spot to sip some wine and take in the atmosphere. We opted for the wine sampler and chose the whites. I don't remember the exact price, but I do remember thinking it was a good value for the tasting. They also offer a discount if you decide to purchase a bottle from your sampler. Josh was our wine host, and you can immediately tell how passionate and knowledgeable he is about wine. He shared the history of Vino Zona and taught us quite a bit about Arizona wines and the local wine-growing regions. As someone who loves wine, I found it fascinating, and his easygoing personality made the experience even more enjoyable. The conversation flowed so naturally that before we knew it, our tasting was over. Josh really was an excellent host and a big part of what made our visit so memorable. None of the wines we sampled ended up being ones we wanted to take home, but the Bombshell Blonde was my favorite of the tasting. They have a nice selection, though, and I'd happily come back to try more. Vino Zona is such a quaint little spot to enjoy a glass of wine, good conversation, and some cool air before heading back out to explore Tlaquepaque. Definitely worth stopping in!

But I will say that the customer service was excellent. Our wine expert was very knowledgable about the wines, the origins of these wineries, and so much more. He even shared a bit about how wine making got started in Arizona. And he was kind enough to add a fifth free taste of a port wine with a piece of chocolate (very nice of him). The space is small, and not well air-conditioned, but does offer a temporary break from the hot, arizona sun.

Ordered the Elote and Quesadilla de Costilla as appetizers. It took quite a while for them to come out, but the Elote was absolutely amazing. The tanginess of the lime goes really well with the spicy mayo and corn. I'd highly recommend it. The Quesadilla de Costilla was also fantastic. For my main dish, I ordered the Carne Asada. The steak was good, but I didn't like the dish too much overall. I definitely enjoyed the appetizers more. If I were to go back in the future, I'd most likely just order appetizers like the Elote and quesadillas. Those alone would be enough for me!
