Che Ah Chi is located at the Enchantment Resort, deep in the Boynton Caynons. The surrounding red rocks and the nearby vortex make for a one-of-a-kind locale (even for Sedona), pushing this restaurant to a 5-star experience for me. Other than the smaller portions and sub-par bread, I was pretty pleased with all other aspects of my dinner. The duck breast was the biggest surprise - I never had such tender piece of duck before. The roasted lamb was also great. Their salads are on the smaller side, so keep that in mind. Great service and the views were unforgettable. I would definitely recommend Che Ah Chi if you want to celebrate a special occasion or make your meal a memorable one. read more

As always, the Enchantment Resort does not disappoint. It is always five star. Food quality is very high and the drinks were fabulous. Service was super friendly and they took very good care of us. The ambience on the patio is breathtaking your views while enjoying your lunch are like nothing else in the world. Super dog friendly. We celebrated our first anniversary dinner here and it was absolutely fabulous! All of the finer dining check boxes paired with a live keyboardist and wonderful service from Ted. The quail and pork belly are musts from the starter lists. Then, if they have the NY Strip please order it. It was the most delicious cut of strip I've ever tasted and I typically prefer a ribeye. The views are stunning and the cocktails are also fun! Definitely a nicer meal with a bit of a higher ticket price but the food is fresh and delicious and you will not leave hungry or disappointed! read more

Che Ah Chi is the perfect location for breakfast after a hike in Boynton Canyon! I went around 10 AM on a weekday in the off-season (July). The restaurant had some patrons, but wasn't very busy, and my service was very attentive. I was seated outside on balcony with a perfect view of the pool and the red rocks and with a little help from my hostess Roro, the umbrellas were shady enough to keep me cool. My server, Oscar deserves five stars on his own! He was so nice and well informed about the menu. He was a good conversationalist, and there when I needed something, but did not overwhelm me with his presence which as a solo diner I always really appreciate. Props also to the bartender, whose bar was not technically open, but made me my favorite fizzy anyway - Prosecco, lemon, & St. Germain of course. I had the huevos rancheros, which have avocado and black bean purée layered in the tortillas, the chorizo is perfectly spiced, and I got my eggs over medium, which was a good amount of runniness for this dish. I spent a couple of hours there, unbothered in writing poetry, and had a cappuccino with at least 3 inches of foam above the rim! I'll share a photo, but it was really lovely because sometimes cappuccinos will be mostly foam and no coffee. On top of it all, the valet (Yewen from Jamaica - you're too cool!), the buspeople and the hostesses were also very polite and friendly. Located at the Enchantment Resort, this restaurant nestled right amongst the rocks is a calming place to take in some stunning views. We came for a relaxing lunch and I started out with the Pink Cadillac Margarita which was not only tasty and refreshing but beautiful as well with its bright pink color from the prickly pear. The lunch menu offers heartier options like pizza and sandwiches but I went with the Seared Market Salmon Salad. It was nice and fresh and the salmon was perfectly cooked. Even if you're not a guest of this resort, Che Ah Chi is a great option for a peaceful meal. read more

What my a beautiful resort and restaurant! Made a day-trip to Sedona with my wife and dog and decided to give Che Ah Chi a try after hearing great things from our neighbor. Really wanted to love this place as it is a gorgeous restaurant and our server was amazing. Sadly, this was by far the worst dinner of our trip. Duck was so undercooked it seemed rare and still tasted gamey even when we asked it to be cooked more. Everything else was very average. All the dishes look like game food or exotic food choices. Very strange menu options. Did have breakfast also during the trip and that was pretty good, so maybe it's just dinner. Would not recommend but really wish I could! Perhaps they can fix things as Enchantment is a wonderful resort and really needs all excellent restaurants. read more

The jalapeno jam is more like a syrup...very tasty..but terrible description on the menu. I just poured the syrup on the sandwich and ate it with a fork. Let's set the context...we were a group of 9, walking in. Larger groups are harder to handle in restaurants b/c in most-of-the-world (outside of Vegas for example) it doesn't make sense to staff to handle large groups. The experience at Che Ah Chi starts as you walk in the door, with a tribute to an interpretation of the local, historical, culture. It is beautiful, and elevates much of what visitors will think about, when they think of Sedona. Next, we sat, and Harry (our waiter) came over to Columbo us. Nonchalant, tidy with a hint of disheveled he made sure our needs/desires were met, while starting to set expectations (part of our group was late). He led with chef's suggestions, and first indicated we could follow our instincts, as we explored a moderately tight, but carefully and intricately built menu. If you've worked at a decent restaurant, this menu radiates experience, and expertise. So back to Harry for a second, like the great (TV) detective, he baits a question or two...and then like the athlete he is, he unfurls his cape, and waxes poetic about every item on the menu, and gives perspective on why someone might order a given item tonight....preference for flavor, or preparation...thoughtful. OK, so you've ordered, and the food starts to come out. It's TIGHT...prep and presentation is literally terrific. Careful construction started with inspiration, flowed into menu, and then arrives "as promised" on the plate. Take the venison I had for example, the ingredients in the sauce described were bold, but in execution perfectly complimented that natural flavors of the meat. Chef prepared the meat medium rare-leaning-rare (as Harry promised), and it was exquisite. I could taste the game, and yet it married beautifully with the demi-based sauce (w a subtle, earthy hit of coffee/espresso). If I was looking to criticize I'd say the attention to detail felt so tight, it was almost compressed. Whereas, in America, we love a little play in the margins...a little excellence/excitement that surprises. But getting back to *REALITY* this restaurant, chef, and service staff delivers on it's promises in very FINE FORM, at scale, and with inspiration....and as a result, the relative value-for-dollar is good (even at higher prices). All 9 people at our dinner were throwing high praise around, and this is a group that knows food. You can rest assured, that everyone will have an excellent meal, and I'd bet some of your party are beyond delighted. Certainly Che Ah Chi would be on my list for future visits to Sedona! read more

It's really unfortunate this place is not rated higher. It is located inside the beautiful Enchantment resort. We had been here before when we came to Sedona and wanted to take our out of town guests. There were no tables available on OpenTable so I was trying to call for a table but the cell service is not great in the surrounding area. I got through twice but no one answered the phone. When we got to the gate the staff told us the restaurant is super busy and full and we could not get a table. We told him we tried to get through but no one answered so he offered to call them for us. He then said we could go ahead. When we got there the restaurant was completely empty! They sat us at the high top table outside the main dining room. Our server was nice. The view is amazing. Food took a while despite it being slow. The food portions are large (and pricey). The food was tasty but it was all very greasy, which was odd. We did not feel it was worth it this time and probably won't be back again. For only having 3.5 stars, this was quite deceiving. The service was spectacular, the food and wine also were very impressive. The cocktail was just slightly too sweet but the wine list was quite extensive and had some good values and good by the glass options for wine snobs. The kale salad was really good with the kale not bitter at all and the cheese with it gave it a great balance. The ambiance was nice and wonder views inside through the glass surrounding the restaurant. I had the lamb that was cooked perfectly med rare and the crust and sauce were incredible with the garam masala really shining. Reservation is required to enter the resort, be sure to make one before you arrive! We didn't have a reservation but quickly turned around and called the restaurant, everything went smoothly because it wasn't a peak dining time. The view was absolutely gorgeous from the patio and the weather was just right! Our server, Raul, introduced himself as a trainee and said he will try to answer our questions but he might need to go find some answers. I like how ease going he was. Raul was really friendly, professional, attentive. His demeanor was really down to earth and calm, it really fits the resort's ambiance. When we were ordering our dishes, he asked if we want the standard fries or upgrade to yuca fries. He could tell we don't know what yuca fries were so he offered some samples. We didn't feel rushed in anyway and that's exactly what we needed at that moment. We just came back from a hike and we wanted to relax, enjoy the view and some sisters' time and Raul gave us exactly that! When we made the reservation, we were asked if we are celebrating anything and we did mention that it is my birthday! Yesterday when I went to another restaurant also in Sedona, the reservation was noted and the hostess also knew but we had to remind the server and the total price was more than this restaurant. With Che Ah Chi, their service was much better than the one we went yesterday, and the servers' service and attitudes were definitely fits the resort style. We had a reservation in n Friday night at 5:30. Perfect time to watch the sun go down behind the mountains! The view is incredible in general, but it's especially pretty during twilight. The service was good from the moment we walked in - not overly stuffy, and everyone was friendly and warm. Our server, Tom, was great and was knowledgeable about the menu. We had the peach burrata, venison mole, and the duck breast. All were delicious, but the venison mole was a stand out. We're foodies who dine out frequently and declared it our favorite dish of 2024 so far. The resort is off the beaten path on the Northwest side of Sedona. It can take a while to get there if you're not staying at the Enchantment, but it's well worth the drive and you have great views the whole way! read more

I had mixed feelings about getting reservations here given the low star rating on Yelp. We had dinner at the Ti Gavo restaurant the night before and breakfast at Che Ah Chu the same morning I had a good feeling about Dinner too. The guidebook suggested that the culinary team had cooked at the James Beard house and that says a lot. Moving on... I made dinner reservations for 6:30 PM and got there around 7PM. Yes, when traveling with a toddler you can just assume you'll always be late for your reservations. Pro tip: start getting ready an hour early. We were seated promptly. We ordered: Celery Root Soup with Toasted Hazelnut: I don't know about you but I have never had a celery root soup and my mind was blown away! The creamy rich soup paired with toasted hazelnut and bits is bacon was so light and delicious! Smoked Salmon Salad: this was nice light salad and exactly what we needed. Light citrusy dressing. Iberico Pork Loin: the dish looked beautiful! When it first came we were like oh wow the portion seems small since we were sharing. However, it was perfect! Nicely crisp and salty and so good. I would've liked a bit more sauce. Lastly, the drinks we got were just so so good! Smokes and Mirrors for my husband and PEARadyme for me. Che Ah Chi was worth the drive out. It is located within a gated resort. Weather and timing allowed for outdoor dining as the sunset on the rock formations. Service was some of the best we've had outside of France. The meal was tasty and large. So large that we split everything and still barely had room for the dessert. My wife had a near-religious experience with the suggested wine (but the price was NOT heavenly). Even with shared meals, this was our most expensive meal during our 5 days in Sedona. We only had breakfast here every morning during our three-night stay so I can't comment on dinner and will only be giving my opinion based upon breakfast service. The views are stunning from the patio and the large floor to ceiling windows inside and the staff are friendly and accommodating. We had oat milk lattes and smoothies and they were absolutely delicious. I also tried the açaí smoothie bowl and oatmeal bowl. The açaí was small but loaded with berries and granola. The oatmeal is the real bang for the buck as it's a heaping portion of oatmeal (probably 1.5-2 cups) with another cup of berries and brown sugar. It's delicious! Perfect fuel for The lattes were smooth and delicious as well. Didn't even need to add anything else to it to drink it easily. This gem of a restaurant is nestled in the Enchantment resort. The view from the restaurant is stunning. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I took my time eating to soak up the atmosphere. The food was incredible. The best duck I've ever eaten, so juicy and tender it just melts in your mouth. I wish there were bigger portions than what they give you. The bison was very good too! The bread with the prickly pear butter was incredible. Everything was just perfect. The presentation of the food was almost too pretty to eat. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful/perfect place to celebrate my husband and my anniversary. It was very pricey for the amount of food you get. That was the only downside, I probably could have eaten 4 or 5 plates of the duck easily with how good it was. I would definitely look to come eat here again when in town. Completely overpriced and not worth the money. My friend and I split the elk osso bucco. They me why they chopped the bone in half so I got a tablespoon of meat while my friend got the bulk of it. Only one bite was tender; the rest we had to saw through with our knife. The ricotta appetizer which was supposed to feature a green chile sauce was just...ricotta. The risotto was good but really the only highlight. If prices are that high, then you expect exceptional service. Water cups were low throughout. We were two jetlagged travelers going on no sleep after traveling from Maui and the espresso martinis perked us right up! Overpriced and overrated. We love nice dinners and have no problem paying $200+ for the right experience but this was not it. We had reservations weeks in advance. We were seated at a table that should not have even existed. It was the first table so you were in the walkway for every server and it was right next to double doors to the patio that staff constantly went through and just let the door close on its own making a knocking sound each time. We had drinks and apps that were fine but neither of us were ever offered a drink refill (soda) or second drink (cocktail). The only standout food item was the rosemary biscuits and the steaks. But I have a food allergy so they could not give me the sauce for the steak. That was surprising. Most nice restaurants the chef always offers to make me my own simple sauce. The sides with both our steaks were flavorless. We got the signature dessert, Canyon Fusion. It was one of the few times I did not bother to eat the whole dessert.
