I have wanted to try floating for a while now and after having severe back pain decided today was the day. I did the $99 special where you get 1 hour of float and then a 1 hour massage. I was not a fan of floating... however the massage I got from Gina was one of the best massages I have ever gotten. She took the time to assess what areas needed to be focused on and used pressure release points to help the spasm in my lower back. I come here for both my Brazilians and massages, and they both get 5 stars in my book. Elizabeth does my Brazilian wax, and she's great! She's fast (I'm usually in and out in about 20 mins), thorough, very clean, super sweet, and it's relatively pain-free (or as pain-free as a Brazilian can be). Before Renew, I had gone to many different places to get waxed looking for the right one, and now I've finally stopped looking! As for the massages, I've been to a couple different massage therapists here but I typically go back to Erica. I am really disappointed in the experience we had not just with a mess up from the office staff or whom ever responsible but what really topped it of was the rudeness from Elizabeth herself. Between my wife and I and getting family members gift certificates through out the year we spend at least $900 to $1200 here every year, and we've been doing this for about 6 years now. I booked a appointment for a couples massage with hot stones for my wife's valentines gift , we scheduled it and received confirmation stating couples massages with hot stones the day before our appointment, we went in very excited to try the hot stones for once, we got started with our massage with so much excitement as we've both heard from friends and family that the hot stones added a whole new experience and level of enjoyment to the a massage, well through the entire massage I kept wondering when were the hot stones coming in to play and when is this going to get really good. Much to my surprise no hot stones were ever brought in, being very passive and not wanting to make anyone feel bad I didn't say anything to the lady's doing our massages, after we finished my wife looks at me and both of us started talking to each other about the hot stones and wondering what had happened. We went to the receptionist and very quietly to not make anyone including other guest feel uncomfortable I stated that no hot stones were used and the receptionist says that it was on the schedule as a hot stone massage, she then says I'll remove $10 and ask for my payment, we never asked for any money to be taken off or even mentioned anything about money as this was not the reason I brought it up, again my wife and I hate to complain or make people feel bad so I paid and we left, later that evening it was still bothering me, thinking we could of at the very least of gotten an apology or acknowledgment that they made a mistake, I get it it happens. I sent a email for a manager to please reach out to me, I wanted to explain what had happened so management could possibly figure out what went wrong so they could stop it from happening again as we from what we believed was we had built a long relationship with this establishment and didn't want to see anyone have a bad experience with them. Well I get a call from Elizabeth and I start by apologizing for any trouble and try to explain what had happened, in a very rude slightly loud voice she stops me only a few sentences in and says " well your price was adjusted for the service that you were given " blown away by this I was speechless, I could not believe this, I could of gotten mad or handled it in a rude way myself but I felt like we were part of this establishment as we've been here so many times and to be cut off and talked so rudely to when I was very nicely explaining what had happened. I am so disappointed in the way Elizabeth treated me. I could go into great detail on the rude comments she made to me after I told her how blown away I was by her actions but it really upsets me so much I'm going to leave it out. Please do not waste your hard earned money here. I wish I hadn't. read more

Don't get too comfy though (I fell asleep in it last time lol). Super friendly staff, but I honesty can't say enough about Brooke! I felt like I was in such good hands with her. She's a phenomenal aesthetician and I'll continue to request her because of her strong aesthetic and interpersonal skills. Restorative facials with her are amazing. Renew is fortunate to have such a great practitioner. She's a great listener and I found her to be professional, warm, and easy to relate to. Found this place online and I must say I was extremely disappointed. I booked my appointment the morning of with the owner, I specifically requested a couples massage and asked to be in the same room. He informed me that they were not busy at all being that it was Super Bowl Sunday and to pick any time. I scheduled the appointment for 1:00. Someone called me back shortly after booking the appointment and asked if it would be possible to move the appointment to 1:45 due to room availability. I had no problem with that, except when we showed up for the appointment they took us to separate rooms. When I said there was a mistake they said there was nothing they could do, the couples room was occupied. Already irritated I tried to just enjoy my massage anyways, but the massage itself was not very enjoyable so I had them change the scheduled hour massage to 30 min. We have been offered a complimentary massage due to the mix up, I hope the next experience runs a lot smoother. *** scheduled a the complimentary couples massage, I made sure on the phone I was very specific, when we showed up for it they didn't have us booked. Even though it's complimentary we will not be returning for a massage. Not worth the drive to get turned away again. Worst massage I've ever received!!! My husband had same experience. We had a couples massage with 2 young girls. Very green massage therapist. Had virtually no technique. all she did was dig where she found tightness over and over and over again! Had a 90 min massage and she worked on neck and shoulders almost exclusively. Way too long for one part of the body. Fearful I'm going to be in a lot of pain by morning. No flow to her technique at all. Great masseuses-not so great customer service. I've had two massages done here. One by Bobby, which was seriously the best massage I've ever had and a prenatal massage by the very sweet Holly who also did a great job. However the girl up front was short with people, rude and had a hard time figuring out change back from my $20. My husband went on a different occasion for a massage and had the same sediments about the front office staff. So if you can deal with the rude staff (the gal who did my eyebrow waxing wasn't overly friendly either) then come here to enjoy a great massage. I was a regular customer at this spa and decided to try something new, a float, as the owner had suggested was a good way to detox and she recommended that I leave the ear plugs out and I got a severe ear infection, had to have two rounds of antibiotics. I had the best massage of my life! Alissa is amazing! For the first time, I asked for deep tissue and I got it! I was kind of nervous that it would end like past massage experiences...I would feel relaxed, but my shoulders and back would still feel tense. Alyssa is AMAZING. I have come to her a few times to work out some old, fibrous knots in my neck and upper back, and she does not mess around. I have gone to several masseuses expecting deep tissue and help with my knots, and I always leave disappointed and feeling a little ripped off- some have even told me they "don't feel anything". Not Alyssa! She went right to work and found hidden knots in my shoulder blade area, legs and even the arches of my feet. She's a little thing, but if you're looking for a REAL deep tissue, she's the way to go. I am always sore after, but I ask for the deep tissue and if the intensity of that rids me of my chronic pain from a stiff neck, I am a-ok with it! Love the staff and the price is great. I have done three floats now and I really enjoy the time to think the most. Having an hour out of the day to relax and let your body realign it self is awesome. I just want to say the biggest thank you to Bryan. My boyfriend and I got a couple's massage here and my boyfriend was very skeptical about getting a massage at first. He basically gave me crap for even booking it for us at the beginning. Bryan was able to make him fall asleep twice on the massage table and make him look forward to his second massage. We will definitely be requesting him again for my boyfriend. I had Jodi. She was very good as well. Particularly on the neck and hand massage. I wish she would have focus on my lower back a bit more but overall, the massage was very pleasant and she help me fix my neck pain from this morning. Definitely a good go if you unsure of who to pick. I'm pretty sure all of them know their stuff. However, I can't wait to give the other masseuse a try as well, just to see if anyone of them can make me fall asleep as well. It might be hard though because I usually take zzzquil to fall asleep and have anxiety. Round of applause overall. They offer a lot of services I have yet to try out, but as far as the massages go they are 5 star, the staff is friendly, and more trained and certified in different tech than the majority of massage places in the area. I do a lot of weight lifting and my muscles and shoulders are normally knotted and trashed. Their staff was able to fix most muscle pain I have been carrying for years. The salon is comfortable and inviting. I believe I spoke with Abby. She is so sweet and very kind. She welcomed me with a big smile and a hello. Keith is a wonderful masseur. He was sure to ask me about pressure and if I had any troubled areas. I walked into the salon with a stiff neck and a hurt trap muscle; I walked out being able to turn my head with minimal pain. Also, they are open until 8pm. I don't get back into Chico from work everyday until 6pm. Being open later is great for me. I would only change three things 1. The entry way and hallway to the massage rooms are not very comfortable or relaxing. It just seems like your walking down a plain hallway. Also, (This may sound weird) the entryway is blocked, the fengshui is off. 2. No saxophone music. That was really weird. I have never had a massage to saxophone/jazz before. It wasn't very relaxing at all. 3. The rooms are so small. There was barley enough room for the chair, the table, and myself. Let alone for the massage therapist to get around. (There was no complaint from Keith. This was just an observation) All and all I needed help with my neck and I got it. I am feeling much better thanks to Keith. read more
