I don't normally write reviews but I genuinely felt verbally attacked by the sales person at Renew MD. This is not a review for their medical team and I'm sure they probably have good services. My main takeaways, they ONLY sell packages instead of individual treatment. Personally, for someone who lives the nomadic lifestyle, I don't go with clinics that don't have individual treatments due to quality issues and commitments issues. I wish they could've just told me that upfront over the phone when I asked about pricing; they gave me the price pre treatment cost and never responded to my email. The verbal attack came through when I met with the sales person in person. She had a terrible attitude towards my rescheduled appointments. I get that time is a limited resource to the clinic but I've rescheduled them well in advance (more than a few days and I called). For someone who's dealing with personal mental health issues I didn't speak up upfront and I'm still beating myself for not speaking up. Anyways the lack of empathy this person carried had a really negative impact on my journey to recovery. I hope this review helps people to avoid similar situation and encourage you all to speak up if you face the same issues. read more

Often times when I have gone into expensive high end resorts, high end hotels, when vacationing, or local spas, I am disappointed by the facial treatments. My lady, Jassi, performs it exactly the way I was taught 25 years ago when I attended cosmetology school. Although my path did not allow me to continue in this industry, RenewMD follows the right technique in providing a true facial. A facial massage is about promoting blood circulation and constant contact with the client. When applying a mask, the aesthetician should always keep in contact by massaging the shoulders and or arms. Odd location. It's in a strip mall with mostly out of business stores. The employees are nice but sales aggressive. I always go to Dr. Ransom in SF (he's the best) but I wanted to try Sculptsure on my thighs and he only does the stomach. I found this place online and drove to the South Bay due to a few good reviews. Once there, I was being upsold like crazy. I've never experienced that at my usually plastic surgery office. When I go in for Botox, I get Botox. Not 100 other things I don't need. They even called out my cellulite (wasn't there for that) and made a point to try and sell me on a service they don't even have yet. It was a bizarre experience and one I wasn't very comfortable with. I'm sure they are a fine establishment, just wasn't my cup of tea. read more

I've searched many med spa for months but decided to come here eventhough the clinic isn't the nearest to my place, just because 1) You will be consulted by an actual doctor 2) They are open on Saturday 3) Their great reviews 4) They have their own skin care products 5) You will be consulted again by the doctor BEFORE the treatment. Basically, I prefer to go to a certified doctor for my skin concerns especially for something like pico laser. First consultation was with Ruby as I was told Dr. Sethi wasn't in that day due to having to travel for work. Ruby was great, welcoming, friendly, not pushy and good in assessing my skin and giving her recommendations although I only heard "Pico laser", skin care products and no other options during the consultation session, eventhough the clinic offers many other treatments. I trust her that perhaps pico laser is the best treatment for my skin concern. My first PicoSure session was scheduled at 12.30 noon to which the treatment will only begin at 1pm as it takes 30mins for the numbing cream to start working. My husband and I reached the clinic at 12.27noon(after walking around outside for 15 mins just so that we will not be late for the appointment). We were only called in at around 1.20pm. My husband is German and he is anal about timing so besides already being anxious about the treatment, I was also anxious when my husband mentioned that he was starting to become irritated by the wait, coz nothing comes out good when he's irritated. Ha. He values time. I was expecting to be consulted again by the doctor before the treatment as what I was promised by Ruby during consultation, but instead I was ushered straight to the treatment room and a staff came to apply the numbing cream on my face. I was a bit disappointed and felt a bit cheated. I mean no one really briefed me beforehand on how the procedure was going to be done and on exactly which part of my face and until where, was it just face or if I wanted it to be done on my neck as well or what entails me to the package that I've paid of almost $2.5k? It wasn't clear. But my face was already numb by then and Dr. Sethi came in to inform me that she will be doing the laser on me and what my skin will feel like during the procedure("elastic band", "warm up", "pinkish/redness"). Dr. Sethi was nice to apologize for not being able to meet me during the first consultation but I was expecting to be getting a consultation that was promised, to clear all my doubts before even getting the numb cream on my face. I was told by ruby that Dr. Sethi will assess my skin before treatment to see what skincare products that suits my skin but I was getting none. I am concerned about hydroquinone as it is banned in the country where I was from and I was "prescribed" 8% of it in my skincare. Ruby mentioned during the consultation that if I'm concerned, she could start me on lower dose, but I heard she telling one of the staffs after my first treatment: "8% for her" while she was hurrying to get into another consultation with other potential clients. I wasn't even asked if I wanted or if there were other options, since I wasn't getting the consultation with the doctor before treatment. That explains why I was a bit uncomfortable during the treatment coz I wasn't that ready and super anxious due to not fully knowing what to expect and having uncleared concerns. I was also just given a piece of paper with written notes on what to use on my face for AM & PM without instructions on how much or how long to wait before layering it etc. I was expecting all of these to be discussed during the consultation BEFORE the treatment that I wasn't getting. Yes the clinic was busy, a bit "disorganized" in terms of timing and dispensing clients prescription skincare coz the staff seems confused from what I see. I would like to clarify that the people at the clinic were all welcoming and friendly. Dr Sethi is such a sweet doctor and Ruby is definitely good at what she does. It would be great if they space each clients apart for appointments especially in this Covid situation so that we will not be "crowding" in the waiting area and also so that they can stick to the scheduled appointment timing instead of having to wait for almost an hr past the scheduled timing to be served. It's been two week since my first session and my skin is definitely brighter and more toned. People have been noticing the changes to my skin too. But I'm still unsure if it's because of the PicoSure treatment or the hydroquinone that I've been putting on my skin and this makes me think if PicoSure is even necessary instead of chemical peels or other facials which definitely don't cost as much as PicoSure. Hmm... And oh, few weeks after the 4th session, I was told by Ruby that she wanted to give me FOC microneedling & gave me time to think. But never hear from her again since. read more
