Woke up and decided to get a facial, I was able to score an appointment at 7am for 9am same day! Easy online scheduling always a plus. My esthetician was very nice, she took a picture of my face and showed me the results as far as aging spots, wrinkles and my skin texture. I was given a robe and instructed to lay down, the room and ambiance was very tranquil and relaxing. I appreciated how she told me every step of the way what she was going to do, after she applied a mask that covered my eyes and my mouth she stepped out and I literally snored, that tells you how relaxed I was. I really wanted to love this place since I've been wanting to get a facial here for a while now but unfortunately, I wasn't too satisfied with my experience. Pros: 1. I love the idea of a virtual skin analysis before the actual facial session. Not a lot of spas offer this so it was interesting to see the skin concerns up close the way I did. 2. I also loved the aesthetic and the detailing in each room 3. Gentle extractions 4. If you spend over a certain amount, your service will include a free heated belly wrap w/ red light therapy treatment Cons: 1. The massages were good but short, in my opinion. I just felt like my service was lacking the relaxation part 2. After the mask application, my esthetician left for awhile which usually the massage takes place right after ( or at least what I'm used to) 3. Most of these reviews mentioned receiving a dessert item after their facial but I was bummed because I was skipped out on this one. I was actually looking forward to this too *As a suggestion - If it's a routine to offer a client a treat after their facial, it should be mandatory to do the same for each customer who gets a service. I say this because most people will read the reviews and would expect it. I just so happen to be one of those customers. Overall, the facial itself was okay. It definitely wasn't worth how much I paid for it and I wouldn't recommend coming here. I came to Cathéa Elite Skincare for the FY‑Venetian Lift and Revitalizing Treatment, and I absolutely loved it! The entire experience was luxurious from start to finish. First off, the space is super clean and professional -- everything felt calming, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Right at the beginning, they did a detailed face analysis (similar to the high-tech ones you see in Korea!) that showed exactly where my skin was at -- from hydration levels to pigmentation and pore visibility. It was so cool to see and really helped tailor the treatment to what my skin actually needed. The treatment itself was amazing. My face felt firmer, brighter, and deeply hydrated afterward. Don't think of Cathea as a place to only get a facial. Rather, think of it as a whole experience. I was immensely impressed by their cleanliness, aesthetic location, professionalism and friendliness and going the extra mile. After the consultation, I elected to switch my service from the Unstress Calming to the Biophyto Herbal Skin which targeted my skin's profile. I additionally added on the silk eye treatment. Initially, I was worried whether this was a location that pushes for higher paying packages in a scheme to make you pay more but at no point during the consultation with Haley did I feel pressured or failed to see the logic of the recommended treatment. After this experience, my skin feels like a baby's skin (no exaggeration). Another key point I really enjoyed was not only targeting the face but also the neck and collarbone area. They start off with the skin analysis, where they show you all your wrinkles, pores, blackheads, and sebum areas. After my analysis, I was recommended the Biophyto Herbal Skincare Management Treatment ($189), which is best suited for those with large pores. And let me tell you... Catherine spent an hour on extractions and deep cleaning all of my clogged pores! After, she applied a variety of treatments and masks to calm my skin down. I loved how she focused on my wrinkles and even gave me a face lift with all her techniques. She massaged different parts of my head, face and neck for lymphatic drainage. Came here for a facial and after starting with a skin analysis with Catherine, I chose the Venetian Lift and Revitalizing facial which is one of the pricer options but I wanted the full experience. The facial included deep cleaning, extraction, a lifting and firming mask, eye care, and a jelly mask at the end. The whole treatment lasted 2 hours and I left feeling amazing. My skin was so clean from the extraction and the cool jelly mask at the end helps with any sensitivity. Catherine and the entire staff was amazing and I love that they give you a drink and a snack to enjoy before or after. My husband found this place on TikTok after seeing that they offer skin analysis, which is what initially drew me in, so I booked our appointment. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The face scanner basically told me everything I already knew about my skin, with little to no explanation or education. It felt more like a tool to upsell treatments rather than an actual consultation. You could honestly get the same type of scan and information at Sephora. When I paid for the consultation, I expected guidance on how to improve my skin--not a sales pitch. Despite my husband and me having completely different skin types, we were both recommended the same $289 anti-aging treatment(one of the more expensive treatment), which was very questionable. We both have extremely different skin type. I clearly stated at the beginning that my main concern was extremely dry skin, yet that concern was never truly addressed. The facial did not feel customized at all--it seemed like a one-size-fits-all treatment. My husband and I essentially received the exact same facial. The service itself felt rushed and basic. Products were applied without being properly worked into the skin, and more time was spent on scalp massage than on my actual face. I've had many facials before, and this felt like an overpriced pampering face wash with a mask rather than a professional treatment. I was also concerned that all certifications in the clinic appear to belong to one person whom we never even saw, which made me question whether the person who worked on us was properly qualified. By the end, my skin was actually worse--extremely dehydrated, dry, and flaky--because the products used were not appropriate for my skin type. If you're looking for an overpriced pampering facial, this might be the place. But if you want a legitimate skin analysis and a personalized treatment, I'd strongly recommend going to a certified professional elsewhere. Went in to do my hydration but end up doing the anti-aging. My skin was getting worst especially turning on the heater from the cold weather. After my examination and decided to go with the anti-aging facial, it was an amazing service! The massages and the patience from the staff. After the treatment I accidentally wash my face with my usual product that had acid. It irritated my skin and my right eyelid did get swollen and got itchy. I think I might avoid this in the future. After cooling it with ice pack, it's better. I had a wedding to attend the next day and my face looked amazing! I can see a nice glow, not much creases, and looked better than I expected! I was a bit shocked to see acne forming after but throw in some pimple patches and it was good. I'll know next time to at least do the facial a week in advance. Will highly recommend! I got the most relaxing facial this week at Cathea Elite Skincare in Milpitas! I got the Luxurious Silk Nourishment for eyes and Biophyto herbal skin management. The entire experience took about 2 hours. Alice did my facial and it was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and let me know whenever a product was going to sting or feel cold. I think this place is a TikTok / Instagram trap and is probably better for folks who are just looking to get pampered and not get genuine skincare analysis or care tips. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience and I didn't leave with any new knowledge about my skin. The experience was not personalized or anything special. [Service] Arrived early with my friend to ensure we could get a skincare analysis with their face scan technology. There was no one to greet us at the front desk so we just stood there and waited until someone from the back came out. After the face scan (which we came early for), we waited for our rooms to be ready and didn't start until after our appointment time. During treatment, I didn't feel like I was the focus of their attention (as they state on their website). Someone knocked on the door twice throughout the facial, there was chatter, and it was just not relaxing at all to be interrupted multiple times. [Face scan] This seems cool at first but not sure how it was helpful in the end. The person helping us just quickly went through each tab and that was really it. They didn't care to actually understand our needs, goals, and skin condition. My results said I had oily skin and the staff member said that isn't accurate but everything else should be. How does that even make sense? I asked for copy of my results and they said I can take pictures of it...okay. I asked them to email me the skin analysis and they agreed to...turns out it was just pictures they took on their phones and then sent to me. It just feels very unprofessional. Anyway, they recommended the same facial treatment for my friend and I even though we have very different skintype. I went with the recommendation because I wanted to trust they were personalizing the experience. [Treatment] This is a 90 minute treatment but I'm sure I laid there waiting for at least 30+ minutes during the experience. I kept asking what was happening with each step and only received very short responses so I stopped asking. Each step that used some kind of tool felt rushed because they prob spent seconds instead of minutes...not sure about the effectiveness due to the rush. I think there was a language barrier too...I asked how my skin is after the extractions and they said they were going to put on a mask. Um ok. I also asked what is my skin type and they said the mask is good for large pores. Like I said...language barrier. At some point, the staff member put some kind of mask on me and said I need to wait 20-30 minutes for it and she disappeared for awhile. When I looked at the clock, there was less than 10 minutes left and she eventually came back and quickly wrapped up after washing my face one last time. The facial did nothing special for my skin. A friend recommended this place. My main concern is my dark spots. So i went and my first visit was great, my skin got analyzed oily type of skin with minimal lines. They recommend the anti ageing which is good but a bit expensive ($300+), when done i purchased their facial cream also a bit expensive, 4 types for $300+ as well but i think it is working. Second visit after a month i just want to get their face treatment for dark spots since that's my main concern in the first place. Surprisingly, they did the face analysis again and the lady said that i should do the anti ageing treatment again. I cannot say no but she said maybe next time i can have the treatment that i want. No complaint with their service though expensive. The thing is, why would they insist what they want and not what the customers want though I'm not sure if that's how it works with derma clinics. As soon as I walked into the clinic, I was greeted nicely by the staff and was offered something to drink. Then, we proceeded to get skin analysis done for my face. It was really great to be able to get a better understanding of my skin condition before committing to a certain treatment. And throughout the entire process, the staff was very thorough in explaining my skin condition, and did not force me to commit to a certain treatment. I got the "forever young lifting and revitalizing" ($289) to help with my dryer skin, and help with anti-aging and skin regeneration as I have acne scars. The staff also helped in extracting my blackheads. The treatment also included a lymphatic massage of the face, and head and neck massage. I could see my skin glowing after the treatment. I came here with a same day appointment booked with Alice, the UI on their website is very friendly and easy to navigate. Don't fret about whether you selected the appropriate service! They do a skin scan on you to show issues such as wrinkling, dark spots, acne, and also test your skin moisture levels (which tend to be lower earlier in the day, just a FYI). Unfortunately the moisture testing gun was not working appropriately, but they recommended that I switch from the Comodex Tomato Acne Management treatment to the Biophyto Herbal Skin Management treatment, which is more suitable for oily skin and larger pores as opposed to the former, which is more suitable for acne prone skin. The interior is very chic and decorated well, they treat you to water and a couple of nougat snacks prior to your facial. Alice was very gentle and I experienced one of the least painful extractions I've ever had under her care. She showed me exactly how much she removed, and she also soothes the skin after extracting by pressing her hand gently on the surface extracted from, which I appreciated immensely. Everything else went well: she informed me which masks would be cooling, which creams would sting a bit, and what to prepare myself for. This was a fantastic experience and I left feeling like a million bucks, my skin texture was so much better than when I had came in- despite my skin appearing smooth save for a few spots, my pores were clogged and definitely prone to more breakouts in the future.
