This is not the experience I received from Aide. One year and three sets of hair later and my hair has almost completely been destroyed and broken entirely in half due to improper procedure and placement. I'm so glad that I was approached by an ethical professional whom actually cares for the health of the hair and the satisfaction of the client. The method of extension which was "strategically chosen for my specific hair" was one that ensures damage and my faithful return so that Aide could maintain the flow of money coming from me instead of maintaining any sort of health for my hair. I was on the phone with her while my new stylist was doing my hair and she says the quoted information above as well as,"the method chosen for you requires that you come back every 4-6 weeks to avoid damage." To which my new stylish replied, "So the method chosen was to ensure that she's in your salon paying you every 4-6 weeks regardless of the effects it has on her hair?" Her only response,"you're not being very professional." So it's unprofessional to be honest with a client when it comes to your money Aide? I never would have taken you for being greedy. I had dinner prepared for your family when your grandfather died and this is how you treat me? I'm nothing but a white lady with money? Seriously, my experience with her was the best I've had since landing in LA (4 years ago). Not only is she professional, but she's also an amazing storyteller who kept me entertained the whole time. Even when she had to rewash my hair (shout out to my thick, coarse 4C hair), she handled it like a pro--no complaints, unlike some other braiders I've dealt with. When I arrived (5min early) I was assigned to a braider who spent about 45 minutes just sectioning the hair. At the time, I didn't complain, even though it seemed like a long time. After that, the staff started discussing something among themselves, and the braider working on my hair left. I assumed she would return, but after waiting about 35 minutes, I was informed that she had left because the salon owner felt she was too slow and decided to split the job between two braiders. According to what I was told, she became upset and left. By that point, I had already been at the salon for 1 hour and 30 minutes. I continued waiting, trying to decide what to do, until I had been there for a full 2 hours. I then explained that it was already 4:00 p.m. and that I had no intention of staying at the salon later than 8:00 p.m. This was exactly why I had mentioned from the beginning that I have a lot of hair. Instead, I was told to wait another 30 minutes to an hour for a different braider to arrive before they could even begin the service. The fact that the hair had already been sectioned and prepared was not my responsibility, but the owner kept saying that just to keep me in the store waiting. This entire situation demonstrated a lack of preparation and professionalism on the part of the salon management. The owner already knew the amount of hair I have and the type of service required, yet assigned me to someone she herself described as being too slow for the job. As a result, I spent over two hours at the salon without the service even beginning and ultimately left frustrated after wasting half of my day.

I've been going to Beki for I-tip extensions over the past 9 months. She's always been kind,…read moreaccommodating, and genuinely sweet- she even helped me out last minute after a bad haircut earlier this year, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, I've had ongoing issues with the quality and installation of the extensions. I was told the hair was high-quality European hair and sourced from the same supplier that top salons use, but in my experience, it didn't seem to be. The extensions tangled constantly, felt extremely dry and brittle, and were always breaking off even with daily moisturizing and careful maintenance. They also didn't hold styling for more than 24 hours. I often had to detangle them multiple times a day, and they became so matted after one event that I had to remove them myself after a hired hair stylist couldn't even detangle them. Each new batch of hair and install cost $1,500+, and I went roughly every 6-8 weeks for a $500+ move-up. I was replacing the extensions every 18-24 weeks, which I now realize is much more frequent than high-quality extensions should require. The beads were not installed in uniform rows- they were placed randomly across my scalp, including on the crown, which made them visible and limited how I could wear my hair. I went to another stylist for a second opinion, and she pointed out that the hair had 3-4 inches of split ends even though it was only about a month old. She also mentioned that the strands looked much thicker than my natural fine hair and might not actually be Remy or cuticle-intact. I also had ongoing color match issues. The sets were consistently too light and warm for my natural tone, which was especially noticeable on camera (my job requires me to be on camera frequently). To compensate, I had to repeatedly dye and tone my own hair to match the extensions. I eventually paid for professional toning because the warmth and lightness still didn't match. I don't believe Beki is intentionally misleading anyone- she's a lovely person and I think she means well. But I do feel the hair quality, color matching, and installation methods weren't worth the cost, especially considering how quickly the extensions deteriorated. I'm sharing this to help others make an informed decision. I wish Beki all the best and hope she looks into improving the quality of the hair she sources and the installation and color matching process, because her kindness and customer care deserve to be matched by better results.
