I've been going to Beki for I-tip extensions over the past 9 months. She's always been kind, accommodating, and genuinely sweet- she even helped me out last minute after a bad haircut earlier this year, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, I've had ongoing issues with the quality and installation of the extensions. I was told the hair was high-quality European hair and sourced from the same supplier that top salons use, but in my experience, it didn't seem to be. The extensions tangled constantly, felt extremely dry and brittle, and were always breaking off even with daily moisturizing and careful maintenance. They also didn't hold styling for more than 24 hours. I often had to detangle them multiple times a day, and they became so matted after one event that I had to remove them myself after a hired hair stylist couldn't even detangle them. Each new batch of hair and install cost $1,500+, and I went roughly every 6-8 weeks for a $500+ move-up. I was replacing the extensions every 18-24 weeks, which I now realize is much more frequent than high-quality extensions should require. The beads were not installed in uniform rows- they were placed randomly across my scalp, including on the crown, which made them visible and limited how I could wear my hair. I went to another stylist for a second opinion, and she pointed out that the hair had 3-4 inches of split ends even though it was only about a month old. She also mentioned that the strands looked much thicker than my natural fine hair and might not actually be Remy or cuticle-intact. I also had ongoing color match issues. The sets were consistently too light and warm for my natural tone, which was especially noticeable on camera (my job requires me to be on camera frequently). To compensate, I had to repeatedly dye and tone my own hair to match the extensions. I eventually paid for professional toning because the warmth and lightness still didn't match. I don't believe Beki is intentionally misleading anyone- she's a lovely person and I think she means well. But I do feel the hair quality, color matching, and installation methods weren't worth the cost, especially considering how quickly the extensions deteriorated. I'm sharing this to help others make an informed decision. I wish Beki all the best and hope she looks into improving the quality of the hair she sources and the installation and color matching process, because her kindness and customer care deserve to be matched by better results. read more

Here is a list I compiled from Beki and my own experience on how to care for your new luscious locks and what to expect after your transformation! * Expect to feel some tightness and discomfort for up to a week after getting them installed. Especially when you sleep. My head was used to wigs, so it was an easier transition for me. It is just your scalp getting used to the added hair and the beads tightening to the hair. The beads MUST be tight in order to stay put so do not worry, your hair will soften and get used to the beads and in a few days or up to a weeks time you will forget about them :) * Washing your new hair after a day or two is highly recommended. The new hair is a bit shiny compared to my own, and once I washed it, the texture was natural and blended beautifully. Beki recommended to me Redken All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner which I bought right away. The best way (for me) to wash your hair is to put the shampoo on the very top of your head, massage gently, then tilt your head back to let the shampoo rinse through the rest of your hair. Once it is all rinsed out, distribute the conditioner evenly along the shaft and ends of your hair. Let it soak for a few minutes then rinse. I made the mistake of not getting all the shampoo out, and I experienced some itchiness, so I texted Beki and she let me know to next time rinse thoroughly which I did and it fixed the itch! * Get a "wet brush". You can get one at Ross, a beauty supply store, or even Amazon. They are designed for all hair types, wigs, and extensions. The bristles untangle your hair with ease. *VERY IMPORTANT- Before you go to bed brush your hair starting from the bottom and braid into one large braid or two. This is very key because the extensions can tangle with rest of your hair and become matted if you do not take care of them. I made the mistake of not brushing and braiding my hair before bed and it was tangled in the morning. When I went to my brush my hair, I brushed over a knot too forcefully and a bead fell out (which Beki warned me would be normal if one came out, she told me to just keep it in a bag and she would put it back in). * Argan oil! Run this through the length of your hair, a small dime sized amount will do, before styling or drying or going to bed for the night. It keeps your hair and your new hair soft, healthy, shiny, and frizz free. (Beki recommended Redken but I already had a brand I felt would do fine) *Be kind to your hair! Don't submit it to all the heat and styling all the time, and when you do use heat, use heat protectant spray and cream. If you have naturally wavy hair like me, skip on the styling and just put some leave in conditioner in it before bed along with the usual braid before bed. You will wake up with lovely beachy waves :) *Don't wash every day! Normally you shouldn't wash even your natural hair every day. I can even go five days without washing. Washing dries it out. If you get oily like I do, pick up some cheap and quality dry shampoo like Pssssst! or Not Your Mother's Clean Freak. I'm really liking Clean Freak right now! Trust me your hair will thank you :) *HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE NEW YOU!! read more

Wow! I just had an incredible experience with Beki. She is kind, gracious, funny, and most importantly, excellent at what she does! I've had extensions before, but this experience was unlike anything I've had done in the past. First of all, she is a self proclaimed perfectionist, and it shows! My hair looks amazing!
