My pedicure with gel polish peeled off completely in 6 days. It was very busy, so I felt like I had found a good salon.

From the moment I walked in until I walked out, the entire staff was attentive to making sure I was welcomed and not patronized at all. Kelly went over me with a fine-toothed comb, double checking all of her work. When I upgraded my service packages from a 3 to a 5 after Kelly already began with me, there was not a peep of complaint from her just action, plus her other staff members did what they could to help her prepare for my other services. Together one great family supporting one another is what I saw. I almost fell asleep it was so relaxing in there. No kidding, my life is enriched knowing Kelly is surrounded by those kind of ladies who look after one another with virtually no complaints just selfless love for each other so the focus can be on customers like me. read more

My friend who went with me got square nails, and they didn't file them down, and she ended up scratching someone. Great nails but not very good service for the price. I always come here to get a fill for my acrylics in Reno and they never disappoint when it comes to shaping and executing the nail design that I want! It's a good idea to make an appointment here since it's always busy when I come and people who walk-in usually end up waiting 30 minutes to an hour. In my personal experiences, I've never waited more than 10 minutes past my appointment time to get my nails done. All of the nail techs are very friendly and always try to hold a conversation with you while they're working. They'll help you choose which colors you want and different designs to ensure that you're happy when you walk out. I also wanted to mention that the acrylics they use are very strong since I've never had a nail chip or break on me after I came here. They do make the nails a little on the thicker side though. My only complaint is that sometimes it gets a little expensive. I've paid a range of $35-$60 here for around the same type of nail shapes and designs and I think it's a little weird that the price range is so wide. Regardless, I think that it's worth the money and will be coming here many more times! read more

First off, I made an appt for 5 and wasn't seen until 540 on another occasion and I let that slide. I've come back even though Ive seen them treat other people poorly but I try to mind my business. I always tip and I get relatively simple designs -ombré or French and they're short. Even shorter than pictured below. That's really it. I was feeling adventurous so I asked for a more complicated set. Showed her inspo pics and everything. Ni said she can do anything so let's go. Long story short, I stopped her mid design. She did two French tip designs and a gold line on those two fingers. I disliked where it was going and the gems she picked out/showed were either silver or a very light gold that didn't match the gold on my hand and weren't similar to the pictures. So I asked her to remove the gold line and I'll just do the French. She said no because she would have to remove everything and redo the nail. Clearly implying she didn't want to do extra work. It's uncomfortable asking someone to do what you asked and they give you a push back. At this point I still had a pedi appt, I contemplated what would be the right course of action. Either leave and find another place to redo my design and my feet or just get my pedi. So as I got the pedi from someone different, while I sat fuming and eventually asked during my pedi if we could just do the rest of the nails French and take off the gold. She said okay. I waited another 15 minutes after my pedi was done and had already been there since 1130. I had another appt at 145. So I had to go. Basically, I left with nails I did not like and a design I did not want. She took her time on the girl she was working on and I already been there two hours. As I asked to check out, conveniently she was done with her client. I was still charged full price so I will not be back. So I never want to hear how people don't speak up and how people don't tip. I stopped her from completing the design and I normally tip at least $10 on basic short French tips. They are greedy and entitled. If I wanted to pay someone for their opinion/want on my nails, I'd do it myself. read more

Omg Queenie is the best! I came in for a fill with designs and a pedicure and wow. I got the biggest pedicure package thought it was a little pricey but boy did I get my moneys worth! Not only do they do a fantastic pedicure they had me wear a mask that got warm on my eyes and was soo soothing. Queenie stayed late to finish my nails and she did an amazing job! They honestly do the best quality of nails in town.  They are a newer nail salon, but man do they do a strong acrylic.  Usually when I go to other salons, my nails always end up breaking off or chipping.  But this has never ever happened at Reno Nail Spa.  The quality is amazing.  The main technicians people tend to go to are Queenie, Chi, and Liam who are all nice.  I have only gotten my nails done by Queenie and Liam and have always been satisfied.  The salon itself is very small inside, with about 6 pedicure stations and 4 nail stations.  The major downside to this place is it is always busy, to the point where they can be booked up to a week.  Even when I make an appointment every time, I always have a 10-30 min. wait time. I figured out the trick is to always request an appointment with someone specific and do not say you will accept any tech to save some wait time, because if you say any technician is fine then it is only the first available tech. Sometimes I see some girls wait an hour for nails if they do walk-in.  I have been in many different days of the week during different times and I have never seen this place slow.  I have also been turned down 3 times for a pedicure because they did not have enough people or time, even when I make an appointment. I called ahead and asked if they do *hard gel* they said yes so I made an appointment, when I got there she started to use acrylic with gel nail polish on top - assuring me that it is hard gel ‍ I only came in for a fill but they kept asking me (3 times)if I wanted a pedicure as well, behind me there was a man giving pedicures and loudly slapping their legs for several minutes which did not seem enticing. The nail tech was rude and did not even speak to me most of the time, just pointing and aggressively moving my hand, acted super annoyed while I was picking colors. while she was doing my nails since they have this plastic divider I accidentally hit my nail on the divider and messed it up (it's only the first coat) so I said sorry, she just went "ugh" and redid it sloppily. While filing I jerked away several times in pain and she started holding my hand tighter so I couldn't pull my hand away, it was also very obvious that this was not a new file and yet she was making me bleed and I assume also whomever was before me as well on the same file. Some of my nails were suppose to have glitter, which she did but did not add any top coat of any sort so when I left my nails were rough and had collected lots of lint and hair just on the way to the car. While I had heard their prices were usually $35 for a fill I was charged $55 for one of the worst nail experiences I've had. On the plus side I was in and out in under an hour but definitely looks like a very rushed job. 1 week later they started lifting. read more

NAILS: I walked into this shop and immediately saw that the floor was extremely dirty with clipped acrylic nails all over the place . They were even in front of the door . I sat down in the chair and immediately noticed the dirty table she was going to do my hands on. There were dirty clipped nails on the table and she just dusted the table with her hands . The entire experience with my hands was very painful. Towards the end of my nails she got on the phone and started talking. She rubbed cuticle oil on my right hand and didn't even bother with my left . She checked the gel on my nails to make sure it was dry and dismissed me to go get my pedicure WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT ME. I stayed and let her do my nails because I was very desperate and was having trouble finding a last minute appointment. From what I hear in the reviews and what I witnessed in the shop , queenie is the one to go to. FEET : my pedicure almost completely made up for the terrible experience I had with my hands . Her name is chee? She scrubbed my feet so good and gave me the best foot massage . She really went above and beyond. All of my ingrown toenails were cut well . I came in after seeing so many gorgeous pictures and since I was in town, I HAD to try this place. I'm from out of town and as soon as I got to Reno one of my nails cracked so I called and they were able to squeeze me in. And by squeeze me in they said come at a specific time and they didn't have me in a chair for 45 minutes after my "appointment". I asked her to keep the length, and she made them significantly shorter. Some were a little crooked. Over all a pretty rushed job. The fill only took maybe 45 minutes. I'm honestly a little disappointed about this place, they had such a good rating and honestly it didn't meet my expectations. I called them to see if they had any openings for mani and pedi, they told me they did, so I asked them to please put my name on the list. I drove from UNR to there, the place was smaller than what I had in mind. They were completely full and a couple ladies sitting and waiting. I checked in with one of the front girls and she told me I took longer than what they expected, so I had to wait. I had no problem with waiting. So I ask her if it was ok to grab some lunch at El Pollo loco since I had to wait. They said it was ok. So I left. When I came back, I checked in again and sat down. Then two girls who had appointments came. I understand they had appointments and I didn't so I honestly didn't mind going after them. What really bother me about this place is that when I finally got my service, I got the "Spa pedicure."The treatment was amazing, they gave me a good massage, paraffin, and a stone massage (honestly during the stone massage, the guy didn't see to know what he was doing). To sum up the pedicure was good. However, when it was time for my manicure, some of the girls working up from just stood up and did my manicure while I was sitting on the pedi seat. I think she filed my nails weird because she was standing. She made my manicure like in 10 minutes. I didn't feel happy with it. Other than the inconvenient with my manicure I think is a clean place, the staff is ok, I really like the fact they have music on their TV and not home improvements tv shows. I've only been to a handful of nail salons in Reno, but I give great recommendation to Reno Nail Spa. Their prices are very reasonable and do such a great job! I recommend getting your nails done by Queenie or Chi. They are so sweet and are extremely fast at filing and painting nails. I'm always amazed by my nails whenever I get them done here. They don't put on too many layers and make sure to evenly file/shape your nails (real or acrylic). My nails last a long time (around 2-3 weeks) when I come here. Queenie is hilarious and loves to make jokes; she also tries to make conversation with you, which I really like. She also finishes off the service by giving a hand massage with lotion, which I think is the best part! They also accept walk ins and appointment. They are really flexible with appointment times! I usually get the gel manicure and the regular pedicure, but I've gotten a full set in the past. 1st of all this nail techs station was so dirty, she didn't even bother cleaning the last persons nails before me. 2nd of all she was on FaceTime my entire appointment!! I asked for squoval nails and for the most part I got squoval but some of them are different shapes. My nails aren't even and some of them aren't straight, they sort of cave in.
