Most companies quoted us like $400 for a one-way rental which seemed insane. Alamo saved the day though by offering us a minivan for only $160 for 24 hours, which compared to the other offers we were getting felt like a steal. Once we got to New Orleans airport and made our way to the Alamo desk, the transaction was super easy and super fast. The mini van they delivered to us was both clean and in great shape-No preexisting issues to deal with. Overall my experience with Alamo has made me put them at the top of my list next time I have to rent a car. A quick , easy car rental transaction-what more could I ask for.

Upon leaving the bus, follow the signs and head upstairs to the Alamo car rental. They have clean restrooms just outside the pick-up area. Our similar, just-washed, and low-mileage GMC Terrain was brought to us. The vehicle ran well for the week. Upon return, if you choose to fill it up yourself, the only gas station nearby is the Shell on Blues Street. Once you commit to Rental Drive, you cannot access it. When you return your Alamo rental, go all the way to the top of the ramp. Drive over the "don't back up spikes" and look for the attendant to direct you where to park. They will ask if you want a printed or emailed receipt, and that's it. Don't forget to take pictures and video of your rental, inside and out, to avoid allegations of damage. I would return to the Alamo in the future for my vehicle rental needs.

Walk past baggage claim. Straight to the car rental center. So the car rental center in actually in the same place. So easy. The problem? The airport moved! So now, it is take a shuttle and then wait and wait. It is about a 20 minute drive, but once you get there, the rentals are usually pretty easy. Hertz partners with Thrifty and Dollar, so you don't know what you will get. We've been pretty lucky over the years and have gotten clean and reliable cars. Let the good time roll.

I rented a small SUV well in advance on 19 Mar 2026 for 6 days and turned it in on March 25th, 2026, approximately 2 hours early due to the TSA shut down. No one was there when I picked up the car, to do an inspection or walk through. I was just told by another National RAC employees to pick "whatever" and drive off. Not cool. When I returned, I was met by another rude, AA woman who did not look at the car, treat me like a valued customer, nor thank me for my patronage to ERAC. I completed a phone text survey and asked to speak to a manager, which never happened. No military or disabled veteran discounts ever offered, just fleece us for every last dollar. They charged me $8.96 for fueling costs, even though I tuned the car in with a full tank. Once we arrived at the airport, we took a shuttle to the airport rental place, which we then had to call to be picked up because it was not at the airport. We arrived at what appeared to be a used car lot to pick up our vehicle. The car said it had 50K miles, but its condition did not seem to match. About an hour and a half into our trip, we noticed the AC was not blowing cold, so we called to let the agency know. They said they could do nothing to compensate for our issue, but we could exchange it. Unfortunately, that was not an option because we were halfway to our destination. Shortly after I called, the change oil notification came, and I began to notice the tires were shaking very badly if we were going over 65 MPH. It was to the point that we were concerned for our safety, so we had to drive under the speed limit to feel safe. When we returned the car, we notified the employees of our concerns. He was kind, apologized for the experience, and said he would note it for their record. After a few days, I realized I had not received my deposit back or a final invoice. When I called, the person I spoke with then notified me that they had charged me a $150 cleaning fee, and if I wanted to dispute the fee, I needed to speak to the manager who had left for the day. I then asked for a receipt, which he stated he sent, but again, I never received it. When I called to speak with the manager, she was unprofessional and needed to address the issue by saying, "You didn't speak to me." She then stated I needed to email them to address the cleaning fee. I had to email them multiple times to get a response. They then noted that the car needs to be returned in the same condition it was picked up, and that's the reason for the cleaning fee. Nothing states a cleaning fee when they finally sent my invoice and agreement. It has been an enormous inconvenience renting from this place. I HIGHLY advise you not to make the same mistake we did. I typically rent through a particular chain, but they were booked and someone else made the reservation.

I reserved my rental through Expedia, so I had already been charged prior to picking up the rental. I have comprehensive car insurance that covers car rentals and used my American Express card to pay for the rental, which also provides some coverage for rental cars. When I picked up the car, the agent who assisted me made it seem like she would not give me the rental unless I took one of their additional insurance coverages. She claimed that my personal car insurance would not cover liability. It was late and I couldn't pull up my personal car insurance information nor call my insurance agent. So, I acquiesced in taking liability coverage so that I could get my rental and end my long day of traveling! The next day, I called my insurance agent and confirmed that I had liability coverage. I then went to the closest Dollar Car rental (different from where I picked up). I explained what had happened, that I felt pressured to take the coverage or I wouldn't be able to rent the car and that I did in fact have liability coverage. So, I requested the extra insurance be taken off. The agent who helped me then was very nice and even called the manager at the pick up location. While they couldn't make an adjustment during the rental period, I was promised a refund adjustment when I returned the rental. This second agent put everything in writing on my rental agreement, then he and I signed and dated it. When I returned the car, everything went very smoothly. I received a full refund of the original extra insurance charge. Besides the hassle with the pick up agent, pick up was easy and the car was great! Drop off was also very easy and uncomplicated. So, in the end the rental was overall pretty good, but the first agent that I dealt with was horrible and said things that were blatantly not true in order to get me to take the additional insurance. Thankfully, everyone else that I dealt with after that point was very nice and helpful.

I am writing this to inform and warn folks of my experience with this Airline Nifty location. First…read morethings first, I DID recieve my $500 security deposit refund back that was charged to my credit card. I called this Airline location's number twice after the 14 day waiting period(excluding weekends and holidays) to receive an update on the security deposit refund. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, as I was told it would be 7-14 days for refund processing. The representative over the phone said she would reach out the office that handles the refunds to check. To my shock and surprise, I received a call and text message of the picture of the receipt for the $500 deposit refund. I thought it was going to be quite the ordeal trying to get the refund back after reading these past reviews of other's experiences. So if it comforts others who are reading this, they do process the refunds when you return the vehicle, but you have to be diligent after the 14 day waiting period. The reason for the 1/5 rating is the vehicle that I rented had a seafood odor throughout the trip and also had this constant squeeling like sound coming from the rear driver wheel when I accelerated. It didn't sound normal at all. Last reason for the 1/5 rating is the above explained security deposit charge fiasco. They don't put a hold on your card like Enterprise or Hertz, they CHARGE the entire rental fee and deposit. You then have to wait UP to 30 business days to recieve your deposit back upon returning the vehicle. I wish they would have been more up front about that policy. My recommendation is to spend a little extra and rent from a more established company such as Enterprise or Hertz to avoid the inconvenience and uncertainty I experienced.

Then after arguing with the customer service rep, he told me he would put me in a different vehicle and honor the reservation and rate at the ticket counter. However, without my knowledge, he changed my rental reservation from a three day to a one day rental in the system and failed to mention it. They then charged my card late fees when I returned the vehicle within the time of my original reservation. Lastly, they booked everything under the wrong person and let me leave the rental facility with someone allegedly checking licences before you leave. I of course never got any receipts when I returned the vehicle as they were sent to the wrong person. I found out all this after looking at my credit card and seeing hundreds of dollars more on my card than was expected. There incompetence knows no bounds and their practices are deceptive. I am never renting from this company again. Do yourself a favor and use a different company. The $30 bucks you think you are saving, you are not. I have spent a month and a half helping my credit card company fight of the illegitimate charges and it is still ongoing. They even had the nerve to send my credit card company the contract which clearly has all wrong information on it and call it a legitimate transaction. What a joke!
