Terrible company that will not live up to their agreements. We gave four months notice that we would move of a property at the end of August. In the middle of August we learned we needed to stay until September 20 and called Renters Warehouse to check if we could rent the property for an additional 20 days. Renters Warehouse contacted the landlord and then contacted me to say that would be alright. I had no contact with the landlord. Only Renters Warehouse staff spoke with the landlord. I had subsequent email conversations with a manager (Renters Warehouse) to clarify that we would rent through September 20 and agree upon the rent owed for the extra 20 days. In his email he offered to "pro-rate the rent through the day that you will be vacated", which established an offer and I accepted by paying as agreed. The manager even adjusted the tenant ledger to show the same balance. We have acted in good faith by paying rent on time each month, maintaining the house and property, and returning it clean and good order. I even had a Renters Warehouse inspector walk through the property before we vacated it to ensure we would leave the property in an acceptable manner. Now they claim they never had agreement from the landlord to make that offer and want me to pay for the full month of September. They acted as an agent for the landlord and now want to alter the agreement instead of working it out with the landlord. It has been 30 days and they have not returned our deposit. Renters Warehouse is now in violation of the Texas Tenant Act and needs to honor its agreement. Thus far they have shown little integrity by completely ignoring their agreements. Think carefully about doing business with a company that doesn't honor their promises. read more

I have used Renters Warehouse management service for 16 months. The first 10 months were great, but now I have dealing with a host of issues that I can't get anyone from Renters warehouse to call me. I have made thirty or more phone calls to the customer service line requesting for someone to call me and NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED ME, I have attempted to reach someone on their Facebook page, I have email individual associates at renterswarehouse with no luck. The worst renting experience I have EVER had. Ever. We needed to move to a new city and having two small children, weren't able to go see the house in person. We pay everything up front. Deposit, first and last months rent etc.. show up on moving day and the house is LITERALLY lopsided. It's so badly un leveled, the windows and floors didn't align at all, the ceilings were drooping, the washer hookup had no actual hookups in it just a pipe in a wall, attached to nothing. The flooring that they installed without leveling the house, was coming up all over the house so badly in some areas, my three year old cut his foot open on it. The closet racks fell several times and we had to have people come fix it over and over. The walls were separating, again, had people come out and "fix" it by just caulking over it. Come move out time, we pay our last months rent and move on with our lives. I receive an email two months later saying our payment was suddenly declined and we won't be receiving our deposit either because they needed to pay over $1,500 in fees for "move out cleaning" and "yard work". I have pictures of the day we moved out for a reason. We had everything cleaned and maintained. Our last electric bill was over $400 for some reason as well.. when it was never over $150 the entirety of our stay. This company is shady and will screw you over at every turn. When attempting to contact ANYONE to deal with this, I have been given the run around over and over and still haven't managed to get in contact with anyone for all the things I need to discuss. We were truly in an awful situation having to move in a short turn-around time due to the sudden foundation and plumbing problems making our previous home inhabitable. I am a property owner for a rental home mis-managed by Renters Warehouse. They do nothing but provide a message forwarding service for messages from the tenant. There is no management of anything. They will designate something as an emergency and threaten to proceed due to some nebulous compliance issue...or they will designate a vendor who overcharges and does not perform the services. Both of these result in hundreds of dollars in charges each month. Property owners BEWARE. read more

I've been with Renters Warehouse for over 5+ years. A few years ago something changed within their company. They just stopped. They stopped being reliable, stopped managing properties and just became money grubbing waste of my time. I stayed to long, accepted to many shortfalls. Despite being scammed several times by their vendors, despite the garbage customer service I stayed. Bring that I was active duty I didn't have the time to vet another company. Well when my most recent tenant ran out on the lease was the last straw. It took me calling them everyday for 3 weeks after my neighbor told me the tenant moved out to get them to go lock my house without charging me, despite the fact they had no contact with the tenant because they were avoiding RW. THEN... when they "locked" my house a come back to find a window wide open. Then as I call a month after I fired them wondering where my final funds were.... the representative that answered the phone and the several emails I had all showed THEY THOUGHT the tenants were still there!!! Just not paying rent for two month. And yet they had done nothing. I won't continue because the pitiful excuse for a property management company and I are still going through struggles because they won't get a manager to answer the phone or call me back ( on going two more weeks). But know this... STEER CLEAR OF RENTERS WAREHOUSE. I would sooner burn my house to the ground then let them run it into the same. ( 20k in damages by the tenant they didn't manage). Great company to work with as they rented out my townhome in Plano. They had access to good market data about my neighborhood and were able to give me a suggested listing price. The pricing is fair and they provide reliable and responsive customer service. They handled listing my property, showing the property, all the tenant paperwork, and will handle the ongoing maintenance. Imagine if you had people who are not qualified to work at the DMV manage your property. Not only are they completely incompetent, they are are !@#!@$ crooks. They had my property listed for 3 months at the wrong price so I ended up not getting any tenants until that was fixed. Their contractors charge 2-3x market rates for every stupid thing, and on a job created damages to a common area that my HOA fining me for. They are unresponsive to both landlords or tenants. Even after I fired them they are still sending me bills. Its a perpetual nightmare. read more

I am a property owner in Plano and do not recommend this company for property owners or tenants. They are the most unresponsive company I have ever had to deal with. When someone at the office actually answered their phone I would never receive any answers but just promises I would receive a call back from someone who did. This never happened. Also they are very sloppy with their accounting. I've had a tenant living at the property since May and yet to receive a penny from DFW who has been receiving money from my tenant on time. I still have to pay the mortgage on the house you jerks! I been asking for the deposit for over a month now and no response. I guess they like the interest they are making on it too much. If I don't receive it by this Thursday ( my last day with them. thank god) they will be hearing from my lawyer. Please search other review sites for them. Some of these reviews on here are fake! To prove this one is not. They charged my tenant a $150 admin fee and me a $99 account fee for an account that I have yet to receive any money from. Nickle and dimers too. They suck. read more

Key to understand is they do not represent YOU, they represent themselves and the renters. "My" agent, Paulette, tried for a long time to get me to lower my asking price for a couple of renters; when I repeatedly refused turned out they were willing to pay my price. Also took them exactly one month to screw up payments and accounting then the best my contact Katy Quigg could tell me "probably" someone else might fix it if I spend my time chasing down their error. I just started renting with these people and they are so careless. First off when I moved in they did not do what was said. My walls was dirty, floors full of dog hair, yard full of trash and leaves, holes in the walls, ceilings leaking, windows could not lock, and my back door could not lock. I put in a request to get things fixed and it took over 2 weeks for them to come out but yet to finish anything. When I call in they have a bad attitude. Then to top that off I paid my rent and dropped my money in a drop box and I keep asking them to check and see if its there but they keep saying it can take 3 days. Really what if someone steal the money. I think I made a big mistake doing this 3 year lease with them because its been nothing but hell since I signed it. This has now become a horrible rental experience for my family. This management company has no concern for the wellbeing of their tenants and will throw all significant costs on the tenant. I've been in my current rental for 5 months. I've been experiencing bites along with my oldest daughter for the past few months. With it being summer time I assumed that they were mosquito bites. Finally we started to see bugs on our bed the end of October. My husband and I threw out mattress set out, which forced us to sleep elsewhere. We finally get a pest company to come out and we have bedbugs. We've never had them before so we didnt know what to look for. Now the bite marks make sense these past few months. We hold off on paying rent and call Renters Warehouse the next morning. Verbally we're advised to have thr exterminator email or fax them the diagnosis and that additional price quotes would be obtained. We never received our call back and we forwarded the exterminator's email regarding. Now in email, it's as though the verbal conversation never took place. Everytime we send something they wanted something else. We've sent exterminator email, inspection report, service agreement, and form showing services performed. We deducted the exterminator fees from rent and paid remaining. We've been charged additional late fees daily for the remaining balance used to pay exterminator. We advised that the management company is welcome to call exterminator, only to be told they don't have the time to do. We've been stressed and now forced to pay all of rent, late fees, and exterminator. This company doesn't have their tenants in mind, only the property owners. We had to throw out a 2 year old mattress set and replace it also which is of no concern of the property management company. I've never had to endure anything like this and I hope nobody else has to. read more
