Renters Warehouse is TERRIBLE! They seem to be nice up front but then once you are stuck they are rude and all they care about is the money! They will nickle and dime you in EVERY way possible! When I submit a request, they respond quickly and based on the urgency of the problem, they get it fixed in a reasonable amount of time. It's such a relief! I dont think I have even been able to speak with the same person twice, even though I have someone assigned to my home. The fence fell down before we moved in and was just propped up... I have been in the house several weeks now and havent even been given and estimate on when the fence would be repaired, Both my wife and I park in our garage however our house did not come with garage door remotes, I was told to just mark it down on the condition report so that I wouldn't have to give them remotes back. Our neighborhood has a beautiful community pool, they even included photos of it when it was listed online, however I was not given a security key. In fact the HOA told us THE KEYS ARE FREE, the Hoa said all you have to do is have Renters Warehouse call us and you can have one, we are now going into September and we have not yet been able to visit the pool. It looks like all the good reviews are from home owners, no surprise there because Renters warehouse will not do any repairs or even respond to the renter read more

My wife and I finally decidied to move into a single family home so we could begin our family. We found the perfect place but were stuck with our townhouse, which had lost nearly 50% of its value since purchase. We contracted with renters warehouse for our rental placement and monthly rental management and couldn't be happier! We found a great renter within a month of closing on our new house, paperwork was signed and we have had absolutely no problems with the tennants. I would give zero stars if it was an option. This company has been a nightmare from the start. When we were first interested in the property, it took a week just to get an agent to answer our calls so we could look at the place. One month into our lease, our agent quit the company and never notified us of that and who would be taking over. In the first six weeks of renting, we had five maintenance requests, all of which took well over a week to repair. We are now on our sixth request and can't get someone to come out and even look at the problem, because "they can't get approval". What's the point of a property management company if they aren't going to take responsibility for maintaining the house? We are officially counting down the days until our lease is over. read more

Can I leave zero stars??? This is the worst experience I have EVER had with renting and we have only lived here 9 days!!! I am not the type to leave a review ever but I am so outraged that I feel I need to. This company needs to go out of business. We moved in to a townhome that wasn't cleaned and covered with dog hair. In the fridge, the shower, the sinks, the washer and dryer, etc! Disgusting! We emailed the realtor that helped us with moving in, letting him know this and he never responded. We walked around the neighborhood trying to find our mailbox because the realtor told us he didn't know where it was when we moved in. All the mailboxes had different numbers then the addresses so we couldn't figure it out and had to ask the realtor to find out. THEN our water heater goes out 5 days later. We call and call and call. On hold for over a half hour 3 times in one day. Leave a voicemail. Nobody calls back. So we tell the Realtor and he helps, someone calls back to get more details the next day and has to call back to schedule. They call back 3 days later!!!! So we don't have hot water for 5 days... The dishwasher is full and can't be run and both sinks are full of dishes. Laundry is piling up. My BF has been taking freezing cold showers. Finally someone comes to fix it and tells us we have no gas!!!! Haha!!! Nobody told us we had any gas appliances so that we could set up an account to pay for gas!!!! So here I am sitting on the couch about to make a drink because I'm so mad and have to miss work even though I missed 3 days last week to move so I can wait between now (11am) and 8pm (that's the window of time) for someone to come by to turn on the gas!!!!!! And someone has to be here or they stop by and leave a tag to reschedule. This is all within 9 days... Renters Warehouse is THE WORST!!!!! Lord only know what other BS we will have to deal with. All I know is that I will pay my bills and if anything goes wrong around here I'm calling someone to fix it myself and billing renters warehouse. Unbelievable!!!!!!!! read more

Very irresponsible. Tin Nguyen is the worst one to deal with. Did not keep appointment. Never responded to VMs and never picks up his phone. If he is like this: stood us up for a showing, how horrible will he be after we become renters? What if he never responds when we have issues? Now I think we have just dodged a bullet by not having to rent from Renters Warehouse. Oh also just FYI, I have talked to an online rep from the website and he said he will forward my info to the office in MN so they can assist us, they never called us. I had renters warehouse is Houston TX manage my rental property for roughly 5 months. I wish i had read the reviews before agreeing to using them. I had the same experience as 180 previous reviews. Poor response time, no one would respond, (have emails for proof) contractors they used to fix the AC were rude to my tenants (told them they didn't know how to operate a thermostat) and did not fix the problem the first or even second time ( this was middle of June with 90% humidity and 3 small children in the house). The third time (in 2 weeks) that the AC quit working was on a Friday and my tenants called renters warehouse in the morning and were told it would have to wait till Monday. Tenants called me Friday evening and I got someone out right away to fix the issue. Renters warehouse didn't mind leaving a family with 3 small kids without AC over the weekend but i did. I offered for the family to get a hotel room for the night and promised to have it fixed by the next day. Which it was. That's the kind of service I would expect. I did not tell renters warehouse i fixed the issue myself to see how long it would take them to respond, then on wednesday, FIVE DAYS AFTER THE WORK ORDER WAS SUBMITTED, renters warehouse emailed me and said the tenants told them I had already handled the issue. Took them 5 days to realize. My tenants ended up braking contract early and moving out early due to employment reasons. I decided to put my house on the market for sale while renters warehouse was trying to find me a new tenant ( I got scammed into the insurance where they find you another tenant for free ) a month later, my house sitting empty, they hadn't even posted the house for rent again. I asked prior to listing the house for sale if this was OK, response was yes, then they told me I couldn't if they were still searching for a tenant, but in reality they hadn't even listed it. I was hoping for and willing to pay for a head ache free experience but that wasn't the case. I ended up managing the property myself while paying them 10% plus the first months rent. Lost alot of money. Find another way to manage your property, do your research first. read more

We experienced renters warehouse as renters from 2013- 2014. We had been in our own home for 15 years, but were in a situation where we had to sell due to illness in the family. Prior to owning our home we had no difficulties with renting. We rented a farmhouse with the understanding that there were 7 acres and outbuildings we could access. The sign in process was great, we completed background checks, credit history and a video walk though. After moving in we noticed several people that had previously owned the home kept randomly showing up on the property. Kinda creepy. Also the owner would show up randomly. Mostly she would call, but sometimes it was just random. It was unnerving. Also, the basement flooded due to no fault of our own, but we updated the landlord and she didnt come out until after a few days of constant wet vac to get the water out of the basement. Then the electricity kept fluxing in and out and had to be repaired. Then the attic was full of bats. We did pay premium rent, around $1300 a month, we were not late once. The barn was not useable, falling apart. The outbuilding we used for storage was also decrepit and we had so much bird poop on our stuff we had to throw alot of it out. The house was not insulated well and was freezing in the winter. It cost us a fortune in propane. The 1/2 mile driveway was a beast to keep clear. Not just a neighbor with a plow, but also heavier more expensive equipment, just so we could go to work. We decided to rent a newer house in town, we updated the landlord in February the we would be moving in June. She was suddenly no longer freindly. Renters warehouse is definitely all about the owner and did NOTHING to protect the renter! No deposit back, of course!! We learned our lesson! NEVER AGAIN! We have been at that same house in town ever since, renting quite happily. Just a heads up. RH gets its money from owners, so they cater to them. RENTERS BEWARE!! read more

Here's why I would never recommend Renter's Warehouse: -The person who showed us the house acted like he had absolutely no interest in being there and that he could care less about getting it rented. Great customer service skills.... -We paid $45 each to do an application, then once we were approved, we were told there was an additional $150 "lease admin" fee that we had to pay when we made our deposit. I'm sorry, but why are we paying you an extra $150 for writing the lease? That should be a cost that the landlord/owner endures since they are the ones who chose to go through RW to rent their place. -When we met to give our first month's rent to hold the unit, that was the first time mentioned that there was an additional deposit required per pet, which we have two. I immediately asked where that came from, since the ad did not mention anything about requiring an additional deposit for pets, and that he never mentioned it before. He proceeded to ARGUE with us, stating that everywhere requires pet deposits and asking if we had even told him we had pets before doing the application. #1 - No, not everywhere requires additional deposits. The house we're in now did not require it, and the one prior to that did not require it. #2 - When we looked at the house, he asked us if we had pets, to which I said yes, and he said nothing else. He did not say anything about an additional deposit of any kind until we had already agreed to rent the property and gave him the first month's rent. So at that point, we really had no choice but to deal with it and figure out how to come up with even more money now to add to the deposit. -After going back and forth about the deposit, he said that it has always been that way, and that every place requires it so he always tells people about it. Basically telling us that we were wrong and that he did mention it, and he knows that for a fact simply because he doesn't think he'd ever possibly forget to tell someone. I can get over the fact that he's human and forgot to mention it this "one and only time," but his attitude and rudeness was completely out of line. The only saving grace in this is that RW is only handling the advertising and leasing of this property, so once our lease is signed, they are out of the picture. I cannot imagine what the rest of the company is like, and sure hope I never have to find out. read more

Horrible experience with Renters Warehouse. We were constantly contacted by a different rep (who we had not previously worked with) each time we had any communication with them. They're bad at communicating and getting things taken care of in a timely manner so we ended up communicating with the tenants directly to avoid any future issues. The owner statements are hard to follow at times and we had to calculate every expense to make sure they weren't charging duplicate monthly management fees. We would not recommend this company to anyone. You're better off trying to figure out all the rental property paperwork yourself than to hire this company, pay them 1 month's rent plus a monthly fee, just to do a less than half a** job. read more

Used their service to rent out a home I owned for 3 years. First tenant wasn't too bad, though they moved out without telling anybody and stopped paying the gas bill which got shut off in February in Minnesota, so probably didn't get me the best tenants. Next tenants moved in and signed 2 year lease. They lost their jobs and stopped paying the rent. I had to contact renters warehouse to have them contact the tenants to find out what's going on. The tenants finally started paying some rent again and guess who got paid first, not me the customer but the management company that wasn't doing their job well. And then they charged the tenants a late fee, but guess who got that money? Not me. They got $50 per month late fee for their $100 management fee. So really I would not recommend them taking care of your property because they've shown me all they care about is getting their money first and not taking care of their customer. Also their people are slow to respond to emails. Would not recommend them to anybody. read more

Horrible company for renters! I dealt with multiple "agents" who take days to respond if at all and then give less than 24hrs notice for showings. Application fee is high. Then when approved for a place, they want you to send deposit (in the form of a money order), signing fee, rent fee, plus first month's rent (totaling $3500 for us) within 48hrs WITHOUT SEEING THE LEASE!!! When I expressed my concern with sending a money order in that amount without seeing or signing a lease, they revoked their approval and moved to the next applicant (before my 48hrs was up)- all I wanted was to see a lease! There was no security that they wouldn't walk off with our money and rent us the place. We will never try with this company again. Susan Larson was helpful at first but at our first hesitation she turned. Also texting late at night and no response during business hours seemed unprofessional. I'd give 0 stars if possible. Avoid at all costs and try to find the real owners. And owners- this company doesn't treat the renters as well as you would. read more

Renter's warehouse has been completely unresponsive and dismissive about maintenance requests. One request went in, and the job sat unfinished for two weeks until I called back to ask about it. At this point Renter's Warehouse had no idea that they had started a repair on my unit at all. 6 weeks later, I am still without air conditioning or an answer as to when the repair will be finished, however Renter's Warehouse assures me that this is a normal timeline for the type of repair that my unit requires. I would NEVER recommend their services to anyone looking for a rental. read more

After working unsuccessfully for almost 3 months to have concerns about my rental property addressed, Renters Warehouse connected me to Jesse Oxford, Client Service Manager at the Phoenix Arizona location. Mr. Oxford took notes about my concerns and said that he would investigate and provide a response within 2 days. My contact with Mr. Oxford occurred Monday, October 22, 2018. Mr. Oxford contacted me several times the following day and several times each day after that. It is now Thursday, October 25, 2018 and my concerns, surrounding the readying of my rental for occupancy, have been addressed are in the process of being remedied. I am so appreciative of Mr. Oxford's attention, his concern, his prompt actions, and his reassurances that Renters Warehouse will set this right. We used Renters Warehouse for our house selection in the suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. We were moving from Iowa and needed to find a house fairly quickly so we could enroll our kids in school at the beginning of the school year. We worked with James Humphrey at Renters Ware House and he really made the process very easy. We had asked to see a particular house several times and he was always very flexible and exhibited vast knowledge about the house, neighborhood, school districts etc... as this was important to us since we were from out of town. We ended up selecting this house and James Humphrey was totally engaged and provided step by step updates throughout the entire process which made the whole transition less stressful. I would used Renters Warehouse again and look for James Humphrey. He will make the process of finding a new home a lot easier!! read more

this was the most unprofessional business I've ever had to do business with. I moved into one of their homes, and hadn't lived their for over 3mths. to have the home broken into by the neighbor son, due to we unfortunately share a drive way together. I have been calling and emailing trying to reach out to management throughout the whole ordeal, and they failed me to the upmost. I the back door of the home was kicked in almost literally off the door frame, and it took them almost 2 weeks to repair the back door in a timely manner in which they failed to do. The police officers advised me not to continue living in the home if I DIDN'T HAVE too, due to the situation I was put into unfortunately. I went through the proper change of commands and my cries, my concerns, and my safety went unnoticed and wasn't of importance as it should have been. I've been working with Law enforcement who have been trying to assist me in every way on trying to get my situation handled in the upmost of importance as it should've have been. They sent 1 of several maintenance man out to the home of the incident of 1/28/19 and he bored up the door from the inside to the outside with two by force that I was later advised by one of the officers after speaking with the fire Marshall that it was a code violation to have the back door boreded up the way that the maintenance guy did it and they had 48hrs. to have the door replaced or else. I called and tried working with management by calling and emailing and Crystal the assistant manager and was informed things were going to take place within a timely manner, but they never was until I informed them of what the fire Marshall stated to inform management. As of now I do not feel safe living in the resident at all and management is aware of this!!! I was promised that I could do a transfer into another home if the owner of the home refused to return my deposit, due to the failure on their part as well to ensure that the home their renting and wanting money for monthly is safe and livable, and in my case its not!!!! I'm so hurt, disappointed, devastated, disgusted, scared, and afraid that all of this had to happen to me!!! Now I'm stuck with having to live in a place im unsafe in, no longer want to continue living in all because of a thief, and mismanagement of one of their properties that their renting out for one of their customers. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE TO DO BUSINESS WITH!!! We used renters warehouse to rent out condo in Burnsville. They add very little value for what we are paying them for. The tenant they secured is a nightmare, late every month, and destroyed our condo in the process. Keep in mind that RW keeps all late fees so this is no skin off their back. Essentially we are paying them to collect rent and notify us when maintenance is needed, which we have to handle and pay for. Thats it. Save yourself the money and use craigslist and a cell phone. read more

Renter's Warehouse is a NIGHTMARE! We have been using them to rent our property for a little over a year now and of 16 months the tenants have been late paying rent 13 of them. We were told they had a clean rental record, however after they moved in we received an annonymous letter showing multiple past evictions. Needless to say Renter's Warehouse does not fully research their histories. In addition, the agreements with the tenants and the separate agreement with Renter's Warehouse state different things about late fees etc. We were even told by the receptionist that he thought they were breach of contract with us. Of course we've been through the eviction process twice with them and every time they favor the tenant and put them on a payment plan. Then when they are late paying, Renter's Warehouse never tells us until we call wondering where the money is and they give us some run around excuse and don't want to evict them. The lack of communication from the company is outstanding! They never answer or even return phone calls until you call from a random phone number. Overall they are TERRIBLE! NEVER EVER use them to rent your property as you will surely regret the complete nightmare they create. read more

At the beginning of 2014 I moved to Minnesota and we rented a town house that was managed by Renters Warehouse. I suppose it didn't help matters that the owner had just moved out and we were the first party to rent. Owner was paranoid about everything and a bit difficult if you ask me. RW did nothing to bridge that gap even though more than one employee affirmed they too felt owner was not easy to work with. Every time owner needed something, RW was all over it, calling, emailing, etc. When I needed permission to possibly install a dish on the property so we could get cable and internet....which I explained we needed to resolve asap because my son was a college student and needed internet for school....I NEVER got a response after many emails to the owner. I turned to RW for assistance in the matter and they said there was nothing they could do to help me. I believe they cater to the property owner because owners equal $$. I recall the options for paying rent were not tenant friendly, i.e., they don't take personal checks and even though we only occupied for 5 months, yet paid for 6, they scheduled a walk through of our unit after only 2 1/2 months with a 24 hour notice. They informed me they were coming in if we were home or not. They were unconcerned with my comfort level or trying to reschedule when it was convenient for myself and owner. It was clear their only priority was to schedule at owner's convenience. I understand they wanted to basically see how we were taking care of the place and I can understand that, but they didn't have to treat me like a second class citizen because the bottom line; most reasonable tenants, including myself, don't want strangers walking through their home when they aren't there. I am sure RW employees and owner wouldn't like that either, but they could really care less about tenant feels. The biggest frustration came with our exit. When I received my returned deposit check, I was shocked at my charges/deductions. Obviously RW did nothing to instruct the newbie landlord regarding illegal deductions. RW told me they had no control over it, but they would pass along my request to return my funds to owner and let me know if owner changes their mind. I was also told they would do it this one time, but future matters would have to pursued directly with the owner and that they should/could no longer be involved. I could list other issues in my brief rental history with RW, but the bottom line is I filed to take owner and RW to small claims court and before my court date, I received a check for remaining dollars that were withheld from me. Even the court clerk at the window ask if RW was really that bad because she has a lot of filings for them. They knew it was wrong and just let the property owner TRY to take advantage of us. I feel bad for anyone who involves themselves with this company. Fortunately in my case I have experience managing properties, so I wasn't having any of it. I feel bad for the folks who rent from them and don't understand rental contracts, their rights or how to defend themselves against such companies. read more

I had an extremely negative experience with RW. Honestly, it's the worst company I have ever dealt with. There is no communication between staff, bad communication to me as the renter, and they obviously care more about owners than renters. I understand the owner is more of their "client" than me, but renters have rights too. They also have very little understanding of renter law/rights in MN (concerning move out policies and security deposits in particular). Some of the people we had help us were very nice on the phone, but they promised things that they apparently didn't have the authority to offer, and we felt very misguided and frankly that there was a lot of bait and switch. For starters, I *never* write negative reviews. And I promise you, if I could give a ZERO, I would have. Renters Warehouse does everything they can to protect themselves and the home owners. If you are a tenant, they screw you over completely!!! The home owner can decide not to approve Renters Warehouse to send anyone out to fix your rental, because it's all up to the home owner. And when it comes to getting your security deposit back, you will NOT get it back. The home owner doesn't need to give a legitimate reason for keeping it. And Renters Warehouse will not help you. When you go to get the home owner's address to deliver a court summons to sue them, Renters Warehouse cannot give you that information. They can only give you a first and last name, so if the name is common, you cannot find out who they are. read more

Terrible service. Nearly every maintenance issue we had was dealt with poorly. On several occasions, they did not get back with us until the very last minute allowable by their "standards". When you have a non-functioning garage door opener or a broken AC for 14 days in the middle of July with a pregnant wife and all you get back is an automated response, it's beyond frustrating. They contracted a deck staining service that moved all of our deck furniture to the back yard and never moved it back; the same people left empty buckets and trash all over our deck. I've rented properties in several states, both directly from a landlord and through a third party, and without a doubt Renter's Warehouse has had the worst overall service top to bottom. Scam, scam, scam, scam! We applied for an apartment and paid the $90 ( total for two of us) application fee. We have excellent credit ratings, zero evictions, and should have had no problem in qualifying. The day after submitting our applications we were informed that someone else had submitted their application prior to ours, and they had been given the apartment. The ad for this apartment was still up however, and RW was still accepting applications at $45 a pop. Now, 4 days later, nothing has changed, and no one will give me a satisfactory answer as to why the rental is still being advertised, and why they are still collecting money for application fees. read more

Renters Warehouse is absolutely impossible to work with! So glad to be done with them in a week! Our lease is up at the end of May. On May 15th, I received an email from one of their inspectors requesting I schedule our move out inspection with him and if he didn't hear from my by May 21st, it would be done after we move out and our lease is up. I immediately replied to his email requesting to schedule the inspection. The following day, I left him a voicemail at his office. On May 17th, another email was sent and on May 18th, yet another voicemail on his office number. Fast forward to May 21st, with no communication in his behalf, I called the local office where a lady answered and acted as a gatekeeper before giving me his cell number. I was unable to leave him a voicemail due to his mailbox being full, but in his voicemail, he stated he's quick to respond to text messages. So naturally, I texted him. I have him 7 hours before calling the office back which I was then told to give me some time, he could just be busy. It's been going on for over and week!! It's now May 22nd and I've yet to hear anything from anyone affiliated with Renters Warehouse. Even the owner of the property submitted an email. The lack of communication, their lack of cooperation, and the pure rudeness of their employees should be avoided at all costs! read more

The tenants destroyed several windows/screens/storm windows, damaged other items in the house, left a mess (even though they were only there for 6 months). When I went to the "move-out" inspection, I was surprised to find out the tenants didn't need to be there. When I asked about the process for covering the expenses for the damages/cleaning that went above the damage deposit, I was told that was up to me to take the tenants to small-claims court. Renters Warehouse completely removes themselves from the process. They didn't enforce the rules when the tenants were in the house (no smoking, mow the lawn or there will be a monthly charge), and when the tenants move out, Renters Warehouse moves on. Not worth the monthly fee for their property management, since they do no management of the property, other than collect the rent. read more

We were tenants of Renter's Warehouse for 2 years, and rented a large single family home in a very nice neighborhood. It seems as if this business exists solely to create communication difficulty between the homeowner and tenant. Prior to move-in, the "rent-estate agent" stated that the garbage in the home would be cleaned out, the home would be cleaned, and repairs (broken floor tiles, microwave, rotten floor in a bathroom, mold in a bathroom, no lightbulbs in any fixtures, leaking water heater, bedroom windows that don't open) would be taken care of. When we moved in, none of these things were done. Renter's Warehouse stated it wasn't their responsibility, that all repairs and the condition of the home is the responsibility of the homeowner. Several of the issues were in violation of HUD laws, and it took us several tries to get Renter's Warehouse to contact the homeowner, and 3 months before the beginnings of the repairs were started. Over the 2 years, there were several attempts at trying to contact Renter's Warehouse for repairs or permission to make improvements on the property, and they just claimed the homeowner refused the repairs or didn't reply to them. This included us reporting the chimney falling apart and multiple contractors stating that the chimney and roof were unsafe. Upon leaving this property, we encountered the same difficulties getting our security deposit back; Renter's Warehouse acted only as the go between, refused to provide contact information for the homeowner, and stated they have nothing to do with the security deposit and can not help us any further. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Their business model seems to exist only to exploit both the tenant and homeowner. Terrible experience! I have seen alot of bad reviews on here from renters saying Renters Warehouse only cares about the owners and treated them poorly. I want all of the renters to know the owners are not treated well either. Our agent Aric Berg pressured us into our renter saying she was the only one interested and she made enough money. A background check was completed and she had bad credit. Aric said that is common with renters and not to worry. He said he talked to her previous landlord and that she was a great renter. THIS WAS A LIE! I will tell you later how I know this was not the truth. We questioned her reason to move because she had only been at her previous rental for 5 months or so. Aric told us that the apartment changed owners so they were let out of their lease. LIE! Our renter signed a 24 month lease, meaning we had to pay Renters Warehouse a month and a half rent for placing her ($2025 paid). Lots of money for a hard working family to pay for what happened next. After 12 months we received a call from the electric company saying that the bill was going back into our name because the tenant had called to say she moved out! I called Renters Warehouse immediately and they contacted her. She lied of course and put her name back on the electric bill. It still felt suspicious so I asked Renters Warehouse to do an inspection (because I am paying them $89 each month to manage the property) and they said they would do one in a "couple days". I called back after a week and a half of not hearing anything and they said the inspection wasn't done yet and sometimes it takes 2 weeks to get someone out there. The following week the electric company calls back to say that the bill was going into our name and the tenant moved out. They even let me listen to the recorded phone call. I got in my car immediately and drove to our rental and she moved out! The property was trashed!!! I called Renters Warehouse and asked why an inspection wasn't done and told them what happened. They said they attempted an inspection a few days after my first call and that the tenant refused the inspection at the time. RENTERS WAREHOUSE COMMUNICATED NONE OF THIS WITH ME! Even after I called to check if the inspection had been done. Of course she refused! She was moving out and didn't want us to know! It took my husband and I a month and several thousand dollars to clean and fix the property. No money from Renters Warehouse to help us. While cleaning the rental property up we found papers from collections agencies and eviction papers from her previous rentals! PROOF THAT ARIC BERG LIED TO US! HE NEVER TALKED TO HER PREVIOUS LANDLORD! The tenant didn't pay her last months rent so they held her deposit to cover the rent. All of the extra insurance we paid Renters Warehouse every month covered nothing! They sent her a bill for us with the cost of repairs and cleaning (Of course all they had to do was send out a piece of paper) What did that cost them like $1.50!? Then every day I was getting phone calls and emails from Renters Warehouse asking me when we could have the property ready to rent again. REALLY!? That's all they cared about was making money off of us! And even though we paid them for a 24 month tenant and she only lived there 12 months they were still gonna charge us to place a new tenant! We ended up having to sell our rental property thanks to Renters Warehouse's poor practices and they do not protect their customers! On WCCO a couple years ago they did a story on the CEO of Renters Warehouse and he was bragging about how he was able to retire at 28 because he had already made millions off of the company. Of course he did! He rips off hard-working Americans to build his empire!!! DO NOT USE RENTERS WAREHOUSE! DO NOT CONTINUE TO SUPPORT A COMPANY WHO DOES NOT PROTECT OWNERS OR RENTERS! Renters Warehouse has made our lives a living hell for 8 months now. First off, when I went to look at the house, they told me that they still had to come back to fix multiple things & to fully clean the property before they were going to place tenants. Everything sounded good, so we applied. They then tricked us into a longer lease by threatening us with an "if you don't sign immediately, the home will be given to other tenants." This being our first time renting, we did not see these red flags Renters Warehouse was sending as we should have. We then came into the home upon move in day, to find clumps of dead bugs, MOLD, & just an utter filthy home all around. They did NOT come back to clean the home. We also were not given a garage door code, or told which mailbox was ours (we rent a town home) even though we asked upon move in. They are so unorganized they did not even have that information. We were told upon move in "the cleaners did not do their jobs. If you want them to come back, just submit a maintenance request & they will." Well, I ended up submitting MULTIPLE requests, & was completely ignored. We had to bleach the home top to bottom because of how filthy it was. About 1 month later, our water heater broke. It took the owner 2 weeks to fix it. That's ABSURD. There is a multitude of other things Renters Warehouse has put us through. When trying to contact Renters Warehouse, it is almost unbelievable how incompetent they all are. Not to mention, they pass blame for everything, when things are CLEARLY their fault. You're supposed to be a professional company? What a joke. They once tried to get me to pay a fee for having the trash can out at the end of the drive way for too long. I responded telling them I will not pay the fee, for their lack of communicating to me that there was a time frame to have the trash out. They then responded telling me that it was actually from the previous owner, & that we did not have to pay it. ????? You think they would have that information BEFORE trying to get money out of me. All around, this company is terrible. I would rather live out of a cardboard box than in a home they "manage". None of their employees are properly trained. It's like talking to a brick wall. It has gotten so bad, I have had to seek out a lawyer for legal guidance. Don't waste your time. If you know what's good for you, DO NOT use them to rent out your home, & especially, DO NOT rent from them! read more

If I could give this company a negative star I would. I absolutely hate this company I want out but until I get a balance resolved I am stuck, they have been told by the home owner repeatedly to credit our rent for repairs we complete with his authorization yet they do not then have the audacity to charge us late fee's for the money we were authorized to deduct from the rent as we provided the receipts and labor for the work per the home owner. They have charged late fees and NSF fee for payments they were never presented to my bank, we provided proof of funds at the time of payment and proof from our back they no attempts to process were made from them. They changed late fees on the late fee balances charged the month prior when rent was paid in full their own ledger showed rent was paid in full, the home owner verified they received full payment minus the fees they pay renters warehouse. I never get the same person twice, if you finally get someone on the phone your go into detail on the issue you want to get resolved only to be told I will look into it or get it to the right person/department to never hear back from anyone to only start the process all over again when you finally get someone on the phone again, my husband and I work full time jobs but dealing with renters warehouse feels like it should be my full time job. they add stress to our household, we want to leave but due to the balance issue we can not walk away from our $1800 deposit. We have taken great care of the home the homeowners love it we have painted done landscaping etc. we were looking to settle in long term, I choose to rent for a reason not because I have to but I like not being responsible for major repair costs. I work in the industry I am a Property Manager and I deal with housing court a fair amount of times in a year and I have never treated or would treat a renter in the way they have. They are the landlords from hell that other companies talk about giving the industry a bad name, they think customer service is an option, respect is unnecessary even common courtesy is beyond them. I worn people to not rent anything that is attached to rent's warehouse, even my tenant who are looking for a bigger place I steer them away from them. I deal with the homeowner on a regular basis they want to cancel but they need rent's warehouse to clear up our ledger so we are not cheated out of our deposit, they wish they had never signed on they are just as frustrated as we are if not more since they are paying them to be treated disrespectfully and ignored. I would not even give them a 1 star rating, They had our house rented, they took the first months rent, then the tenants did not move in, and they did not do what they said they were going to do, and find a replacement, they basically said O well this is the first time that has happened, you will get no where with them, I even called there CEO, and he said he would look into it, and did nothing, they just don't answer their phones, or will not call back, they got their money, and they move on, they do not honor their own contract, Again read the reviews, you will be happier without them read more

Worst experience ever!! We used Renter's Warehouse to find a renter for our property and to manage the property. The renter that was placed in our property has not paid one payment on time and although we pay or the eviction protection plan- they have not been evicted. They claim to be contacting the tenants to get the rent paid but at the same time are collecting a "late fee" that goes to renter's warehouse- not the owner of the property that is making the mortgage payment. We will never use Renter's Warehouse again and suggest no one else does either unless you want to rent out your property for free. read more
